This place is usually busy and sometimes chaotic. The food is delicious. My favorite is the pastrami sandwich on a soft roll. This time I just got the chicken salad which was very yummy! My husband got the Italian cold cuts sub on a hard roll. We have been here many times and enjoy it.

Google
Moved here after 25 years in Brooklyn just over two years ago and have been searching for a proper deli sandwich ever since to no avail. My search is over. Shared an 8” hot Chicken Parm hero and an 8” cold Italian cold cuts with provolone hero with my wife and neither disappointed. We got the soft bread for both and you could tell it was freshly baked. Both sandwiches were nicely packed with ingredients. Next time I would probably go with the crunchier bread for the Chicken Parm. My only criticism would be that it’s definitely a bit pricey, with the 8” sandwiches being in the $15 range and the 12” being in the $22 range. In NY you’re getting the 12” for $15, sometimes a little cheaper. Considering a sandwich of this quality is so hard to come by out here though, I won’t complain too much. This place is 10 mins from me, I am definitely going to be coming here regularly.

Google
Get practically anything food and Italy related. The Italian cold cut sandwich was the best sandwich I have had in quite awhile. The bread was the best!

Google
Italia Deli has the BEST gluten free sandwich I have ever had. Unlike most GF breads, it is crunchy, holds its shape, chewy, and delicious. I recommend the turkey sub, everything on it. The staff are so kind and helpful too. Highly recommend.

Google
Love this spot! I get the sandwiches. Usually Honey Turkey and Havarti on a hard roll. They make the wedding cookies(think that’s the name) 😝 in house, they are 💣. I took one into Universal studios and impressed my date, lol it’s got that good Italian deli smell. Bread and Italian Dressing are my favorite aspects of Italian Deli. Ask for extra vinaigrette. Second pic is just a reminder to get outside. This hike is near the deli. Backbone Trail go check it out!

Google
A few months after I moved to LA back in summer 2005, I stumbled onto this place during a lunch break from my first job in Agoura Hills. I was actually looking for a Quiznos, and felt Italia Deli and Bakery might be just as good. I was COMPLETELY blown away by their sandwiches, the perfect combination of boar's head deli meats, and fresh baked bread. They have hot and cold subs, but I prefer the cold, especially the buffalo chicken and cheese on their hard rolls. This gem of a sandwich shop is WELL worth the drive if you don't live in or near the area.

Google
Consistently great sandwiches for decades. Employees are friendly yet efficient. Pricier than other similar sandwich shops for the quantity, but superior quality.

Mark S.

Yelp
Been coming here for years... Best sandwich around and the homemade bread is great. Prices are a bit high but sandwiches are huge and can be shared easily. Order ahead of time as the place is packed and can take a while. Place is small and packed so I wish they had a pickup window but I'll still take this sandwich over everyone else... Everyone

Yelp
I live in oak park since 2002. Used to love sandwiches from Italian deli. We got pastrami and roast beef sandwiches yesterday. Both were so dry. My friend asked for extra pepperoncini , got nothing. I mean no pepperoncini at all. Lots of dried meet, no flavor. Very disappointed.

Angela D.

Yelp
I give this place 3.5 stars. Everything tasted fresh and good but nothing that makes me say wow. I was in the area so I came in to get a soft roll, turkey & cheese and soft roll, capicolla & cheese. I added pepperoncini on both sandwiches and they charged me 1.50. I'm not sure why these topping would be extra when at jersey mikes I can add banana peppers and jalapeño for free. I wish there was oil and vinegar added to my sandwich. Anyway, my hubby enjoyed his and mine was okay. I prefer my meat and sauce (mustard) to be touching the bread and not stacked the other way around (sauce and condiments on bottom then meat). We came around 1pm and it wasn't crowded on a Friday afternoon. I won't be back anytime soon but it was fun to try.

Sharleen S.

Yelp
A friend recommended this spot, so of course I had to come try it. Who doesn't love a good deli Sammy. I ordered online (I get nervous when I go to new places) and got the turkey sandwich. I walked in, picked it up, and decided to go on Kanan and eat in my trunk with a view. The staff was super friendly, since I looked so confused lol. The sandwich was SO GOOD. Their dressing was phenomenal, I got the soft roll which was amazing (I'll get the other one next time) and overall it had the perfect amount of everything needed. I'll def be back - was super good!! Parking: it's in a shopping center - a ton of parking.

Randy L.

Yelp
Great tiny hole in the wall Deli. I ordered the Large Turkey Cheese Cold Sandwich. The price was ~$23, which is pretty pricey to me, but the serving size was gigantic. The quality and freshness of the ingredients was worth it, and I'm sure it would last an average person 2 meals, instead of 1. The service was a bit disorganized with a lot of customers ordering with ticket numbers. The shop can get crowded with all the customers going in and you don't know where the line even starts. Overall, good food but the store and service can be improved. Summary: - BATHROOM. There were no public bathrooms. - CLEANLINESS. Clean but very small/crowded shop. - COSTS. $$ Pricey to me. ~$23 for a 12-inch sandwich - CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff were friendly and fast, despite the lunch rush. - FOOD QUALITY. The ingredients are fresh. Definitely better than any generic/chain fast food sandwich restaurant. - FOOD QUANTITY. A large-sized portion. You will get full from any one meal. - WAIT TIME. I went in during the peak lunchtime and got my order within 10 minutes.

Yelp
Honestly the b e s t sandy spot in the area. Actually, the best sandwich I have ever had in my life and I am a foodie. Their sandwich quality has stayed consistent and delicious for over a decade. This is my childhood sandwich shop and it's the best. I truly don't know how they haven't been featured on a foodie television show because they really are that good. Service is great and I have never had a bad experience with anyone! They also have never messed up an order before! I get a cracked pepper Turkey & salami on a soft roll with extra Italian sauce and it is chefs kiss I tell ya. Freakin amazing. I recommend everyone try Italia! The ambiance is cute and quaint, right next to Vons. Easy parking. Definitely order ahead because they are always busssssy! It's pricey for sure but that doesn't stop me. A small and large sandwich will run you about $35 bucks. Worth every penny-10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
I have loved this place since they first started out in Granada Hills. It was THE go to spot for a special lunch in high school. Their Italian roast beef sandwich is beyond words. It's the freshly baked bread that is the key. I'm headed home to So Cal next weekend. My brother and family now live in Agoura Hills. Italia has made it easy for me to indulge. Hope Maria is around! She's a sweetie and played soccer for my dad and with my sister way back in the 1970's. This is also where I tried my first cannoli, epic!!!

Lauren M.

Yelp
Got a delicious Italian cold cuts sandwich with provolone & the works on a soft roll after a hike nearby (added pepperoncini & Calabrian chili spread ) and it was exactly what I'd want in an Italian sub! The small size was huge and plenty for 1 person. Only complaint was that the roll is a little small for the generous fillings and the sandwich was pretty messy to eat!

Yelp
Italia Deli came highly recommended by good friends from Val Surf. My good buddy Nate said it was the first deli he went to in LA (he's from the Upper Peninsula) that made him seek out other delis like it closer to where he lived. Nate knows his sandwiches and I trust him. He never fails me. Ha! The 2nd ringing endorsement was from the Richards Family (Val Surf owners). Brandon said his family get Italia at least once a week... Hearing that from Nate & Brandon, who I've known for a couple of decades now, was all I needed to know. My lady & I were staying in Agoura for the night so the stars aligned for our first time at Italia. They are located in a plaza just off Kanan Road and not too far from the 101. Vons & UPS Store also share the plaza with them. There is shared parking in the lot right out front. Plenty of spaces. My first impression after walking in was shock. This small deli & market was packed. It was wall to wall people. It looked like there were at least 7-9 staff members making sandwiches alone and they were all busy. The rest of the space was occupied by hungry, waiting customers in a sort of organized chaos of get in where you fit in. It was that packed. It was the evening of December 23rd so it was certainly festive inside. We went with a large Italian cold cuts sandwich ($20.99) and its certainly big enough to be share by 2 people. It came with mortadella, cotto salami, molinari salami, & provolone. It was delicious. All sandwiches come with LTO, mustard, mayo & Italian dressing. They will ask you if you want your sandwich on a hard or soft Italian roll. Small is 8 inches and large is 12. I learned that they make their bread daily from scratch in house.... The salamis were great. I really liked them. The mortadella was also very tasty. The bread was great, it wasnt too tough considering, it was actually soft enough to a degree... I would order this sandwich again and the lady really approved of it. It was her choice after all. The deli has all kinds of Italian goods from pastas, panettone, cheese, wines, desserts, etc. We also picked up pasta salad and tiramisu ($6.99)... The tiramisu was delicious and even came in a glass container. Service was friendly despite how crazy busy they were. We would certainly go back to Italia when in the area again. I appreciate my Val Surf family for putting me on to this gem of a deli. Grazie.

Yelp
I've frequented this deli a few times over the past few years. They have a very diverse menu of hot and cold sandwiches. I've tried the chicken and eggplant parmigiana sandwiches, 8 inch small on a soft roll. I thought the portion for the price was not very good and the small sandwich is not something I'll ever order again. The hot entrees served with pasta are a much better deal and I've had a few of them and all were a good portion, very tasty and served with garlic bread. The service is always very attentive to your needs and polite in interactions. This deli has a great selection of various types of products imported from Italy, products hard to find anywhere else. Plenty of parking and a few tables outside to eat outdoors.

Yelp
Growing up in The Valley I went to this spot quite a few times and always loved it. Going back I had to wonder "Will it be as good as I remember?" The answer to that question is "yes," -- the sandwiches are phenomenal, and it's no secret as there were many people placing their to-go orders too. Albeit busy, the service was phenomenal. One of the guys behind the counter greeted me immediately, probably in less than 10 seconds. He could not have been nicer, and the sandwiches were ready just a few minutes after, allowing me time to peruse the all the amazing imported Italian treats they have in the boutique grocery section of this shop. I got the Turkey & Cheese on crispy Italian bread, it could not have been better! The bread was incredible with a nice crunch to it, the ingredients were super fresh, and all the flavors just worked. My Mom got the Roast Beef sandwich and loved hers as well. The side of pasta salad I got was also pretty tasty, though the sandwiches are the star of the show here. Don't let the simple exterior fool you, amazing sandwiches and Italian treats lie behind that door.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
This place was listed in an LA Times article about the best Italian sandwiches in Los Angeles, so I had to stop by and see how it stacked up against my personal favorites... I was not disappointed. This is a traditional Italian grocery and deli, with an amazing selection of food! From the outside it appears to be a small shop in a strip mall, but once I stepped inside I was shocked at the huge selection, and almost distracted from my mission of trying their sandwich because everything else looked so good! They have a 'take a number' at the door and even though I was there right at noon, I didn't have to wait more than 2 minutes before my number was called. The person helping me was very friendly and both took my order and prepared my food. If you, like me, are coming for a sandwich, they have a selection of chips and a fridge filled with drink options. Based on the LA Times recommendation I got the Italian Cold Cut sandwich, molinari salame, cotto salame, mortadella, and provolone on a soft roll prepared "as is". It did NOT disappoint, and it now holds second place in my favorite Italian sandwiches in Los Angeles. It was delicious! Now that I've seen the other reviews I want to go back and try the porchetta sandwich! There is a large parking lot, parking was not an issue, if you are picking up there is also a loading zone in front.

Willy T.

Yelp
Visiting this shop was a cool experience. It's densely packed but full of tons of imported Italian goods like pastas, crackers, cookies, spreads, etc. I ordered a Capicolla and Cheese sandwich and it was so big that I had half of it for lunch, and the other half for dinner. The sandwich itself is pretty good. It's so much better than what you get at a chain like Subways or Jersey Mikes.

Eytan P.

Yelp
Great food and quick service. It's always a takeaway, so ambiance is irrelevant. Love this place!

Nancy D.

Yelp
It's a bit too expensive... I don't think it's necessary to charge $2.99 for a can of soda or $13.99 for lemon cookies. Both should have cost about half in my humble opinion. The sandwich, hot beef, was priced fairly and delicious. I'll be back and I'll skip the extras and go for the sandwich only. GREAT FOOD!

Smoka b.

Yelp
Went for the porchetta. It was delicious. Not what I expected but yummy none the less. The selection is good and parking is easy. I will be back.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
This is a gem of a place! Everything in the store looks amazing! The deli is superb! So many choices of meats and cheeses! I recommend this place! They have a great seleselection of gluten free pasta too It's an easy location to get to Clean and great customer service they have fresh items

LC M.

Yelp
If you're looking for deli sandwiches made with high quality ingredients, house made sourdough bread that is crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside, good cuts of meat (not too thin or thick), and packed with flavor, Italia Deli will not disappoint. It was recommended to me by a good friend of mine who lives in Agoura Hills. I had the Italian cold cut and hot pastrami. I ordered the large sandwich which they add extra meat. Other popular items are turkey and cheese, meatball, and roast beef. Friendly staff, quick service, ample parking. You can peruse along the narrow aisles and find imported goods while you wait for your order. Exit Kanan Rd, just off of the 101. On your way to the beach or picnic, this deli has great (cold or hot) sandwich options for the whole family.

Dan P.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time and got the chicken sandwich on a soft roll. Unfortunately, it was a letdown--sandwich was cold and dry. For a first experience, I expected much better. Definitely not worth the price.

Barbara W.

Yelp
This deli is the REAL authentic sandwich place, it is little pricey BUT when you get quality plus authenticity it is worth the price. We have tried many other deli' s but this is #1. The crusty sandwich rolls are freshly made. The assembly of this sandwich is a work of art. Just thinking about the sandwiches makes my mouth water. This is a MUST try if you love deli sandwiches. I love the Boars head ham & cheese on a crusty roll with all the fresh veggies.

Annette M.

Yelp
Was really hoping to like this deli. Came highly recommended Pull a ticket Market/Deli style Meats did not taste fresh Breads exposed to the elements Not the best sandwich One and done

Audrey S.

Yelp
For any fellow Italians out there, they have Colomba for Easter (or any holidays)! I love getting their sandwiches before driving to Malibu for a nice beach day. The staff is very personable. Make sure to grab a ticket when you walk in so you can get your number to order!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Sandwiches were excellent! Called in an order for early lunch on a weekend. It was packed! Calling ahead is a good idea for busy times. Was a bit chaotic but worth it!

Liz R.

Yelp
Always the best subs, been getting the Italian on a hard roll for decades. Delicious! Hint call ahead with your order otherwise can be a wait.

Aron F.

Yelp
Just spot on lasagna. Lots of good Italian grocery products as well. Classic spot you would find in Brooklyn or Chicago.

Matt P.

Yelp
Saw an article on my Facebook feed that had this place rated at the top for Italian Deli's. So of course, I had to check it out. There was a small break in the weather, so I decided to come here to try their Porchetta sandwich on a hard roll. I went with the large in hopes that it would be big enough for lunch and dinner. At first, I thought $19 was a bit steep for a sandwich, but when I got home and unwrapped it, it was probably the biggest sandwich I've seen. I decided to order the meat ravioli, caprese salad, cheesecake, cole slaw and a couple of cookies. Let's talk about the sandwich. It was fully loaded with shredded pork and it was so damn good. The seasoning was perfect and the pork was moist for the most part. The hard roll tasted fresh and kept the juices inside of the sandwich and did not get soggy at all. The cole slaw is mayonnaise based and had a sweetness to it. It was fresh and wasn't swimming in liquid. Probably one of my favorites I've had. Their caprese salad was really fresh. The mozzarella tasted home made and the tomatoes really put it over the top. Their chocolate chip cookie is pretty big and had chunks of chocolate chips in every bite. Will update on the other items, but so far, this has got to be one of my top Italian delis in the Valley.

Ar H.

Yelp
Simply the Best Italian deli in California. Amazing bread always fresh meats and vegetables highly recommend if you haven't tried it yet

Shahaab T.

Yelp
The food here is subpar (at best). The meatballs are tasteless. No spices. I asked for a meatball sandwich on a hard roll. What I got was a mess on a soft roll. The sandwich was a glob of soft bread with cold meatballs. It was terrible. Also, the mgr is overtly rude. You will see other posts say the same thing. He ruins the experience in an already uninviting cramped store. Not friendly or cordial. I'll never give my business to this place again.

Jan E.

Yelp
Best place for subs and a whole lot more. Italia Dele has been a staple in Agoura Hills for 25 or 30 years. Staff is always working hard to make sure customer get taken care of as quickly as possible even at the busiest times.

Leslie S.

Yelp
Wonderful fresh baked bread, baked fresh daily, with a choice between hard or a soft roll. The Italian sub is wonderful - Boars head deli meats and cheese. It's always busy - and they are efficient and quick. Don't have time to wait, call ahead and pick it up. Great local spot - includes an Italian grocery store too ... you're welcome!

John A.

Yelp
This place is great as long as you're not in a hurry. I have tried this place three times and the food is great. The attitude from the staff is even greater if that's even possible.

Lilit G.

Yelp
I love this place! They have so much delicious Italian food, and their Chicken Parm Sandwich was fantastic. It took not more than 15 minutes to make them, pretty fast and absolutely delicious. The customer service was also really friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try more of their sandwiches!

Craig P.

Yelp
The food is always excellent, the owners source some terrific suppliers from Italy. One of the great aspects of their deli is they employ many local high school kids, whom all learn the value of teamwork in a fast paced environment. My daughter benefitted from her experience while employed there, she is now a Sous Chef at a high end restaurant in Los Angeles. Thank you, Italia Deli.

Amber B.

Yelp
The food was Amazing! We were walking past and smelled the food and saw a bunch of people walk in and we decided to check it out. Totally recommend this place. True Italian deli

Sarah A.

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with Italia. When I think of the perfect Turkey sandwich, it's this one. On a soft bun with pickles. Sometimes they're so busy they only take online orders, but it's super convenient and tells you the estimated pick up time, allowing you to order in advance and just dropping by to pick it up. I'll always stop at Italia when I'm in the area.

John R.

Yelp
Great sandwiches. Good hot food too! Sometimes gets busy so you have to pick a number-even on phone orders.

Dawn F.

Yelp
Agoura Hills, CA First visit to this small Italian deli located in a strip mall, busy on a Sunday just 20 minutes before closing. As soon as you walk in there is a cold case with pre made meal items to grab and go and heat at home, convenient! We called in a sandwich for pick up without seeing a menu, my husband ordered a large sandwich with turkey, salami and swiss cheese. The gal said we could choose from a crispy roll or soft roll, she recommended the crispy roll so we went with it (next time will go with soft roll) and added pepperoncini's for $1.50 to the condiments which already come on the sandwich: shredded lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard and Italian dressing. *Crispy Roll, it's delicious, and wide, but the top is thinly crispy/crunch, inside soft, and the shape of the bread is rather wide, lending to unavoidable slight cuts on the inside of your lips/mouth-unless you are eating this with a knife and fork which is highly unlikely. The bread is much wider than other deli's we've been to which just made handling the crispy sturdy crust of the sandwich bread a little more of a task than usual. We really had to plan the angle and game plan of each bite to keep everything together and navigate around the crispy outer shell-not the easiest sandwich to manage and dig into given the thickness of the sandwich as well. I would imagine the crispy roll would fare better with a hot sandwich versus a cold. Next time we would order the soft roll for a cold sandwich just for the ease of the consumption process, and our personal preference. We were surprised the sandwich itself was $17 for a large but once we felt the heavy bag and got over the sticker shock we realized why, the thing was massive and heavy, definitely enough for two to share, at least twice as wide, if not more, as a standard deli sandwich roll. Each half looked more like a large rectangle almost a square shape (think ciabatta for shape not taste). Everything on the sandwich was very fresh tasting. The turkey was sliced thin, the Italian dressing on the sandwich was great, all in all a nice sandwich. Since the store was so busy and there were elderly people inside shopping, I thought it would be considerate to wait in the car while my husband finished the transaction during social distancing, etc. I would have loved to peruse the shelves and the bakery counter, but will have to visit again. Service was quick and pleasant.

LAdani m.

Yelp
Terrible, owners are not good people. I suppose everyone loves a good sandwich and there aren't many options in Agoura Hills. However, it's best to not over look all the bad. Go somewhere else.

Toy M.

Yelp
Oh My, What happened to my favorite sandwich place ever?? Shame Michael & family. I never thought you would change so drastically even with inflation! 2- 7 inch eggplant parmesan sandwiches and a drink. $35.00. And the bread was baked too long. Is that Italian. NO! it is Insane. Bye Bye.

Marc H.

Yelp
Lasagna and chicken parm is excellent and their sandwiches are the best. Wish they had a little bigger space for patrons to wait to pick up their orders. All in all the food is very good.

Nick L.

Yelp
For those who know, authentic hasn't changed much in 30 years. Top quality meats, a lot of the hard to find straight from Italy products. Lines and waits can be long on the weekends in the summer so order ahead!

Ari K.

Yelp
So so great. We get our deli meat and subs from here. The cannolis are amazing as well. Always friendly and truly feels like an east coast deli. Family vibes.

Kim A.

Yelp
Hit this place every time we go to the beach. Roast beef w provolone on a hard roll. Delish everytime

Daniel T.

Yelp
Jewel of the west great little authentic Italian Deli, don't forget the wedding cookies made in Casa!!

Sue B.

Yelp
Absolutely the best sandwiches around. Excellent staff and service! Great little deli too.

Sherri D.

Yelp
Been here countless times and just like everyone has already said, the sandwiches are amazing. Order online an hour ahead to skip waiting in line at lunch time. They have imported groceries from Italy too. Staff is polite but isn't always the friendliest. I couldn't care less though because I know they're always busy juggling a bunch of tasks and no one goes to a deli to get Michelin rated service.

Ron S.

Yelp
Classic Italian deli. Packed with authentic Italian products and they make the best deli sandwiches on fresh homemade rolls.

T G.

Yelp
Food is a solid 5* but do not order an espresso based drink- could be a very long wait for a poorly made warm milk with coffee flavoring- by no definition a cappuccino. Go to Carreras for Italian style breakfast coffee + pastry and here for sandwiches.

DeAnna G.

Yelp
Trying to find a local deli that compares to Bay Cities and Italia's "Italian" was good, but unfortunately, it can't compare to Bay Cities "Godmother." I ordered the Italian on crunchy roll, my son had the ham and cheese. The size was humongous (I suggest sharing a large) and I took home half. The roll tasted good, but it was messy. The sandwiches have two or three times the amount of meat than the godmother has, but the "extras" were the miss. The store has a lot of Italian products and sodas that are hard to find. I bought two sodas, cannolis, and terrone. The cannolis were delicious!!! Seriously, the best I've tasted since I was a child. Crispy sweet pastry shell and the filling was just sweet enough with a few chocolate chips. The people working were very friendly and helpful! There's only a few tables outside, to eat at, but it was comfortable, clean, and enjoyable.
