Yelp
Decided to nosh my way through the best hoagies and pizza joints, over the next 6-9 months, between downtown Cincinnati and up the East side into Loveland. The Italianette in Silverton was my first stop, and being about dead center between the two boundaries, seemed a good place to start.
Great little pizza joint! Lots and lots of regulars at lunch, a real cozy and comfortable neighborhood eat-in spot. The servers were helpful and friendly so that was a good start. They checked in on me a few times and refilled my water without me asking, pretty attentive for sure.
Pizza was, as others have noted, one of the best I've ever had (outside NYC & Jersey that is). I tried the 7-item Deluxe. Bacon topping are real cut strips of bacon laid on top, the spicy sausage, with fennel, really stands out. All of the ingredients seemed to be high quality.
The steak hoagie was actually a letdown-- undercooked, short on pickles and onions, and just plain underwhelming on this first visit. Unfortunately it was mediocre and they need to really step up their steak hoagie game. That's why I'm giving 4 stars versus 5 here. I'll try it again sometime soon and if better, will update the review.
They also have a buffalo chicken hoagie that sounds a bit different than most (and tantalizing), so I'll get that one as well to share with the wife (who very recently has become a hoagie aficionado herself!), and I'm sure she'll be a willing taster, as she too loved Krimmer's Italianette pizza.
