"Italo is one of London’s most idyllic cafes for an alfresco lunch—ciabatta filled with goats’ curd and braised leeks, or whipped ricotta french toast—that spills out onto the pavement. Just know that if you sit down at midday, you probably won’t leave Bonnington Square until late afternoon." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"Italo’s courtyard set-up makes for the ultimate sun-soaked day-off lunch. Doorstop focaccias filled with goat’s curd and braised leeks are hoovered up by athleisure-clad cyclists, and locals who’ve cracked out the good sunnies lounge for hours. Patchwork totes are filled with Pan Di Stelle biscuits for later, while malted milk ice cream sandwiches are for right now." - rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna
"A frontrunner for the yet-to-be-established Best Cornershop In London awards, Italo is a little deli on Bonnington Square. In recent years it’s become known for its excellent kitchen, making stellar sandwiches, weekend lunch and dinners, and hosting an array of pop-ups. But it’s also, still, an excellent little shop. There’s a range of high quality, ‘artisanal’, store cupboard stuff, as well cheese, meats, and breads." - jake missing
"This coffee shop and deli on the corner of Bonnington Square has been serving locals for over a decade. And as well as selling everything from Italian biscuits to specialty olive oil and tinned tomatoes, Italo serves some of the best lunches you can get in the area. The menu changes daily, ranging from ciabattas filled with goats' curd and braised leeks, to fresh pastas, to french toast with blueberry sauce, maple syrup, and whipped ricotta. When the sun is out it’s a great place to enjoy an alfresco lunch. When you’re done, head back inside for a Happy Endings ice cream sandwich (and some Pan di Stelle biscuits for the road)." - rianne shlebak
"There are few better ways to spend an afternoon in south London than… pretending you’re not in south London. Italo, a coffee shop and deli on the corner of Bonnington Square, has the kind of outdoor patio that makes you forget that you’re a 10-minute walk away from one of London’s busiest underground stations. An alfresco lunch here consists of things like ciabattas filled with goats’ curd and braised leeks, and fresh pasta. Don’t skip dessert and end the afternoon by browsing the deli filled with Italian produce." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
