"F*%# ME THAT'S GOOD!!!" were the first words out of my mouth when I tasted the brisket. We spotted this place on the side of road while passing through town on a roadtrip. I'd been wanting some authentic local BBQ and this did not disappoint. It looks so unassuming - we were drawn in by the literal smoking gun smoker in the parking lot and then when we stepped inside to see all the trophies nonchalantly chilling on the floor, I felt even more optimistic. Bottom line: This is literally the best brisket I've ever had. After the first bite, I was honestly worried the sauce would ruin it but it complimented the flavor and tenderness of the meat perfectly without overwhelming it. The staff was friendly and quick; when my husband asked what they recommend, dude said "it's all good" without missing a beat! (He then suggested the short ribs, which we ordered to go, for later.) "It's all good" is mostly true... my sides were just "meh" though and I didn't finish them because it felt like such a clash versus the perfection of the brisket -- the Mac and cheese is like they melted a block of Velveta and threw it some noodles, and the German potatoes taste like starchy onions. However, my husband, a self-proclaimed "potato salad snob" gave that dish 5 stars, so I regret my choice of sides. Still, that's not what I came for and the meat was so perfect, I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
