The baby shower cake we ordered was amazing. They did a great job with decorating it, my sister loved it! It was half vanilla and half chocolate, with Bavarian cream filling...so good! Not too sweet or rich, everyone commented on how good the cake was. Unfortunately the cake cracked at some point from transporting it from the bakery to the event, but it was not very noticeable and did not alter the look or taste of the cake. Price was very reasonable compared to other cakes I've purchased from various independent bakers in the area. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

Rhonda was AMAZING to work with at Iversens Bakery! She helped create our perfect wedding cake that was absolutely delicious, our wedding was over a month ago and we are still getting compliments about the cake. While planning our wedding, my husband and I met with several bakeries in the area which were all good but Iversens was the clear choice and we are so happy with our decision. Not only did it taste great but the design was better than what I could have imagined. I emailed a couple design examples but explained I didn't love any of them so Rhonda took parts of each one and designed our perfect cake. Thank you for being part of making our day so unforgettable!

We heard about this place through a friend of ours and we’ve been pleased every time with every order! They are friendly, attentive and personable. Along with cakes they also offer pastries and cheese rolls. The cakes are delicious and crowd pleasing! Our guests ask who made the cake as they were impressed! The softness of the cake and the flavour of the cannoli filling was perfect! We highly recommend Iversens!

We ordered a custom cake for my son's 3rd birthday and it was so beautiful and unique! I had some many guests come up to me and comment on how good it was or ask where I got it. Would highly recommend this bakery - their cakes impress!

Definitely not the quality of past cake orders that were always decorated perfect and were so delicious and moist. This 10 inch chocolate double layer cake was dry and decorated with very minimal decorations. For $90.00 it was a big disappointment and embarrassment serving it at a birthday party. I have purchased many many cakes here through the years and Iversens cake was always a special part of a birthday tradition. Will be looking for a new bakery to purchase from, it’s definitely not about the cost just want a cake the way iversens bakery used to provide. When we provided a cake from Iversens we would say that you were Iversens worthy saying how special this cake was from Iversens bakery but not anymore.

UPDATE: 12/20/25: Here we are again... God bless this bakery for our amazing treats again. I am so thankful for the great job they did on the cherry cheesecake, again, and the chocolate chip cookie cake! Our daughter was thrilled with her cookie cake. The decorations were perfect for the occasion. Thank you so so very much for the freshness and deliciousness you provide. Get your orderes in early of it is around the holidays. Don't forget to treat yourself to one of those phenomenal cupcakes in the display. I always enjoy seeing the cakes in the display too and checking out the decorations. Cupcake purchase special on Wednesday's. First review from last year or so: Iverson's cake and cherry cheesecake were phenomenal! The staff was the best. Friendly, well-spoken, caring, helpful. Very clean inside. The cherry cheesecake was not too thick. I am happy about that. If cheesecake is too tall, it can be rich and overwhelming. Not too rich or nor a failure on taste. Cherries were delicious. Soft texture, light buttercream piped around the ages. The cake was delicious and the cupcakes too. The cake was fresh tasting that I purchased in the showcase. I love the white chocolate drizzle over the top of the cake. The fruit center was also airy, fluffy texture, and not too sweet. The frosting on the cupcakes was divine. Each different flavor was well worth the trip. Cakes were all soft and fresh. I really do like the frosting. It is light buttercream. Not too sweet. I had a cannoli, and even that was fresh and delicious. I can not wait to get more stuff from here in the upcoming months. Parking in the front can be a little squirrelly due to parking next to curb on Outer Drive. There may be parking in the back, but I can not say for sure. In the front, when you try to park, be patient. They try to get their customers in and out so it isn't too hard to find parking but some days it is full and some days it is empty. Can be full because there is a dance school, a music school or something and a bar with restaurant there too. Can be a little crowded some days or evenings more than others. Do not second guess your trip to come. Just go. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Iverson's!

Was trying out different places for cupcakes and gave this bakery a try....I was not disappointed. I think the owner a nice lady even was the one who served me my cupcakes and helped me pick out a few....for the price you can't lose for 1 and for 2 the taste is incredible the cake itself it great then the flavors are banging 💪🏾🤤💯 Lemon cupcake alpine white caramel supreme and strawberry crunch all hitters i will be returning for more 💯💪🏾

This bakery has been around for a very long time but the ladies running it now have really taken it to another level. They have custom cakes and individual cakes. They also have cookies that are amazing. The oatmeal raisin cookie is the best I’ve ever had. Show them some love, you will be happy .

Best pastries, cheese rolls remind me of the ones I had in middle school. So delicious, and the Cake for my engagement was perfect

"It`s just a cake." That was their flippant remark and attitude when a relative of mine went back into their bakery recently to exchange a cake they messed up on. They did make the order right the second time, however, "it`s just a cake." You know what? They`re right! It is "just a cake." Because of this, we`ll go elsewhere next time when we need a cake. They`re not the only bakery around. Try to be careful next time, Iversons. In the age of social media and the ability of anyone to review something, a persons` or business reputation can be negatively affected by just one bad review.

Usually their cakes are absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I forgot to order a cake so I was left with picking one from display case. Went with a marble and Bavarian cake. Worse cake I ever had from there. Literally dry and crumbly. Threw half the cake away as no one wanted any to take home. Cake was probably old

A few things make this one star. First the prices are pretty high. Second the service is just horrible. Almost like they're inconvenienced when you walk in. During my odd encounter while paying I put my card in the machine and the lady went off on a rant saying "I thought you were paying cash". Like what? As much as I like the baked goods they have it's not worth the price or having to deal with staff that is just plain rude.

They close too early making it difficult to walk-in randomly for a nice sweet treat or to pick up an order. But I consider that to be a minor inconvenience considering the awesome awesomeness of their cakes. Taste - Awesome Texture - Fantastic Get your cake from here if you want it to actually taste good.

I can not say this enough...BEST Bakery in Metro Detroit! Prices are lower than the other bakeries in the area and the quality is better! I have never been disappointed. The Spinach pie is a whole actual pie. Our family orders our birthday cakes from Bartz...the Black Forrest is a family favorite. The bread, scones, cookies, muffins, pepperoni rolls are wonderful as well. Even the day old rack's items are fresh! Cupcakes are only .95 cents and sell for $2-3 at other bakeries.The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. It is the kind of bakery that I remember as a child. Good, wholesome, delicious fare.

The cakes, cookies, and tarts are delicious. Friendly service and fair prices. They prepared my daughter's wedding cake in 2017. We're choosing them to prepare our other daughter's wedding cake this year.

Absolutely amazing bakery!! Wonderful people to work with and the desserts are just mouth watering. Our wedding cake was everything we could've wanted and more. Lots of compliments from others. Iverson's also give you a free cake on your one year anniversary and we cannot wait for that day to come either!! Highly recommend!

After being cancelled on by a baker who was making a cake for my son's first birthday, Iversen's came to the rescue by making a cute custom cake for me on such short notice. Since I was asking so last minute, I didn't expect any sort of elaborate design. The cake they made far exceeded my expectations for a last minute request. In addition to looking great, the cake tasted amazing and received rave reviews from all of the party guests. I definitely made sure to save a good portion for us to enjoy after the party as well. I used them for my baby's shower and now my son is 3 and I'm going to order every year as long as they are still standing . Now you might not be able to catch them over the phone but the email is prompt and the cake taste amazing and they get it done quickly . The price is do-able for most.

Beautiful cake for a shower, I am not artistic I showed them the floral bridal napkins and they matched it perfectly. Delicious we had so many compliments in their behalf and requests for their name. Kind staff!!

Let me first say that i LOVE Iversen's. They are usually spot on and the best bakery in the metropolitan Detroit area. But... the last cake that was purchased for my birthday in April, fell short. The yellow cake batter was DELICIOUS and moist like I would hope. But the usually perfect frosting was almost bland this time. It wasn't sweet enough to compliment the cake. That threw the whole experience off for me. I wait ALL year for a great bday cake and it all hinges on the frosting. Next, my sister ordered the cake. She is not a baker and didn't really know what she was ordering so she asked for a filling of chocolate ganache. It was like having fudge inside the tender cake batter. Too sweet and too thick. Someone should have directed her to a lighter chocolate mousse filling. Overall, not a great cake but, in all fairness, this was the first bad cake I've gotten from here in 20 years. I thought they should know. I'm going to give them another shot but one more bad cake and I'm out! Do better Iversen's...I know you can.

The service here was unbelievable. They were so attentive and so friendly. Very hospitable. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The ladies working gave my kids some complimentary cookies which were absolutely delicious. We tried the chocolate chip cookies, Nutella cookies, and the raspberry roll cake. Of the two cookies the Nutella cookie was the star of the show. So soft and chocolatey. The Nutella oozes out and the cookie itself is packed with a chocolate punch. The raspberry roll was delicious! The buttercream was sweet but not overpowering. It complimented the raspberry filling within nicely. The cake was light and fluffy. Big hit with the family. We definitely will be returning.

I found this bakery on Yelp so I could get a custom shark cake for my sons 3rd birthday. After looking at the photos from previous customers I saw the perfect one. I called the bakery and they said they could do it despite the corona madness since it was pickup only. The price was fair and worth every penny as my son wouldn't stop talking about his shark cake. I plan to go here for any cakes I need from now on. Side note: the shark head you have to provide on your own. I found it on Amazon type in shark head puppet and go from there.

I love their small butter cookies with the raspberry filling. I could eat a box of these, they are so tasty and bite sized. I enjoy their marble cakes for birthdays and all their cupcakes. I always pick up their red velvet cupcake for my neighbor, she loves them and I tend to get their bumpy cupcake or anything chocolate based. The manager or owner and staff are always helpful and accommodating. This is my go to if I need any baked foods for work related events or just to pick up some sweets for my colleagues. I stopped by today to get some butter cookies with raspberry and was beyond heartbroken to find out they stopped making them a couple of years ago. I said that couldn't be since I had picked some up go my colleagues in my current group and it's only been over a year that I started on my current team. I used to buy 2 dozens and my heart sunk as the cookies were and are really ever the only reasons I went at all today. There was nothing else I wanted or craved and thus left the store empty handed for the first time ever. I want them to bring the butter cookies back. I was even willing to pay the nearly $1 a cookies for those tiny pure delights. I am crushed.

We had Iversons do a cake for my husband's retirement...they did an amazing job !!! He was so happy !!!!! The frosting is sooooooo good !!! Thanks for helping to make his day so special !!

Perfect cake every time, we have purchased several cakes in the past. Great place, they did a little remodeling inside.

I have ordered two custom cakes and they have more then delivered in design as well as taste. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because I really wanted their display desserts to be as tasty as the custom order. It could also be that I'm not a huge buttercream icing fan and always order whipped. If you're ordering custom I highly recommend marble cake with caramel icing filling and whipped cream. I've also tried the California cookie company which is located inside and I felt that the cookies were a little expensive for what you're actually getting. The woman told me it's the same recipe for all the cookies and just added nuts or stuff to each kind. I really wanted to love them but left a little disappointed.

extremely rude! she broke the number on the cake while putting it in the box, I kept on telling her to keep the box open but she didn't listen. when I told her about the broken number she was like I cant redo it and asked another employee to give me a candle instead! I asked her to at least fix the damage on the cake, she replied back saying that she was too generous with me and that it's just a cake!! I didnt ask her to be generous. It was my first and definitely the last time, the cake wasn't even good we couldn't eat it.

I grew up in Detroit with Iversen's just down the road, near the SE corner of Grand River and Lahser (that's "Lasher" to you non-Detroiters!) in Redford, Michigan. They moved to Dearborn years later and this is a more recent relocation within Dearborn. The cookies with buttercream icing (made with real butter and you can taste it!) are tender and buttery but royal icing would be better and less messy! The cupcakes are beautiful little creations, with creative flavors like German Chocolate and Chocolate Overload, piled high with frosting. My other half went here to get my birthday cake for me, as I'd grown up with a duo birthday cake from Iversen's (my sister's is a week before so we would have a big sheet cake with Santa and reindeer on it!). It was a sweet, light feeling marble cake with tons of buttercream frosting, a holiday decorations and when he got it home, I put my vintage Santa and sleigh on it, just for old time's sake. Pricing is good ($22 in late 2018) for an 8 generous serving cake that's fresh-made by a real bakery!

Nobody does it better than Iversen's... Rum torte (I get it without the rum)... It's otherworldly!

This place has been a Dearborn staple for years, and the ONLY bakery my extended family trusts for special occasion desserts. The owners and staff are always so kind and always happy to help, and in all of my years I have yet to receive anything less than perfection from them! Most recently they prepared a gender reveal cake for my first, and the staff was so helpful in offering me recommendations and suggestions. The cake turned out better than I could have imagined, and tasted like heaven! 10/10 every time

These cupcakes are great! They are so moist! They have a bit of filling on the inside, kind of like a whip- it's not super sweet. The frosting on top of the cupcakes is sweet. It's not over powering though. They have purple velvet, the chocolate, almost like a Boston cream is excellent! We tried a few of the cupcakes and everyone really enjoyed it!

Are you kidding me? This place and the staff are amazing in every way. Every item is worth a try I simply love this place. Customer service is outstanding and the level of detail they are willing to put into the cakes is an artistic experience. Give them a try please you won't regret it. In addition the family atmosphere is the cake topper.

My wedding cake from Iversen's was absolutely stunning- it was almost too beautiful to eat! Rhonda was so easy to work with, and made great suggestions and professional decisions along the way, while still incorporating my vision. Not to mention, it tasted amazing (vanilla cake with raspberry preserve and Bavarian creme, it was a hit!) Iversen's exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them to any bride.

We were so lucky to have Gina from Iversen's Bakery design and make our wedding cake! She did an amazing job and had it delivered and set up early. She even provided a complimentary cake stand that matched the cake perfectly. The cake (white cake) was light and delicious and had just the right amount of sugar and cream cheese filling. Not only did it taste great, but it looked absolutely beautiful. Many of our guests commented on how elegant and expensive it looked, but at the same time, it was very affordable and within our budget!

Know what you want before you go. Asking them to help you pick something you would like is too much effort for them to do. Clearly they want you in and out. I almost just walked out because of how off putting the lady was being with me. If I'm spending the kind of money I did on a cake I want to make sure I like it and without being able to taste anything, the workers should be more than willing to sit and help you make a decision since they know everything they have and how it taste or at least what other customers enjoy. They said all they do is a white cake basically, for the design. So If I wanted flowers on it or anything that was brushed off as an idea. Anyways party was on a Monday but had to pick up my cake two days before since they are closed on Sunday and Monday. Overall way too much frosting it's thick hard and way to sweet, my guest asked it if was fondant.

I've ordered two cakes from here and I promise you I haven't thought twice about the price. Being that it's around $50-$60 for a 10 inch cake, I wasn't even hesitant after reading reviews. The young boy at the counter helping me with choosing what to order was so helpful and made me feel like I was a part of the Iverson bakery family. Immediate greets me at the door and throughout trying to pick what I want, he would recommend things and tell me what he can do around my budget. After my first experience with them, I am going to be going back for every family members birthday. The have done an excellent job!

Wonderful bakery- beautiful, delicious cakes, and amazing customer service! The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating. They do a beautiful job on custom orders- I've given them an invitation to match as well as photos of inspiration, and they nail it every time. They also give a complimentary smash cake for first birthday orders, which is awesome. I can't say enough about my positive experiences here!

Never again! Second time, tried to see if better, nope. Taste is nothing special, cupcakes boring, selection boring. Woman behind counter who was checking people out went to get my cupcakes - did not use gloves. No pride in service.

Kinda disappointed with them lately. The last time I ordered a cake, the frosting tasted stale/old like it was kept in a plastic container. We've always been longtime costumers so I've decided to try them again and can never get an order in(also disappointing).

I have been a loyal Iversen's customer for over 8 years. They have always done an amazing job with all of my cake orders until NOW! I ordered a full sheet cake for my son's 9th birthday party. The party was a University of Michigan theme and I ordered a cake to match my theme. It was to be a football field. As always, I emailed them 3 separate pictures of the cake I wanted. When I picked up the cake 1 hour before the party, I was horrified! What I got was an overpriced Kroger cake that had nothing to do with my theme! The only difference between this year and the previous years was that Amy took my order. She is a new employee. To say that she screwed up my order was putting it mildly! My son started crying saying, "My friends are gonna think I'm a liar!" I became so upset and it took everything in me to keep my calm. All she could say was "I'm sorry, it's my fault," but she did nothing to remedy the situation! If you were not sure of what I wanted, why did you not call me to confirm? Amy is overbearing and pushes herself on you as soon as you walk in the door. She keeps trying to push her nasty cookies on me every single time I visit the shop. I don't understand why Iversen's is allowing this, but I am an Iversen's customer, not a Cookie company customer! If Iversen's does not get rid of her, they will lose so much business! If I ever order from Iversen's again, I will make sure that Amy does not come anywhere near my order!

Any cake I've ever gotten from here has blown everyone away. Everyone is just amazed with how perfect everything looked and of course it's always equally delicious. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for the gorgeous work they do. Gina (the decorator) literally makes any picture I show her come to life. She really knocks it out of the park.
