London’s Best Hidden Restaurants in Unlikely Locations | Eater London

"Parked up outside the big Tesco on Old Kent Road, The Iyanams Kitchen is so much more than just a car park burger van. Sure, burgers are served but the dishes with strong nods to Caribbean and West African cuisine are the main reason to visit. Think grilled saltfish, peppers, tisk, ackee, mango salad and barbecue dressing stuffed into a warm tortilla flatbread, generously seasoned and slow-cooked lamb chops with fried rice, and sides such as mac and cheese or jollof rice." - Jonathan Hatchman

Great food and served by a particularly nice owner. The Google Maps page said this place is inside Tesco but it’s actually a van in the car park. I had the wings, great value for £6 and really tasty. You won’t regret going!

The lamb ribs were absolutely phenomenal. I could taste the flavour in every bite I took. The jollof rice was divine. This place is an absolute gem.

Was so happy to find Iyanams Kitchen open quite late in an area that has to be said is a bit of a culinary desert. The food was wonderful - really tasty lamb ribs - and great value. The chef is really lovely. I’ll be back and totally recommend this place.

Can't recommend this place enough. The food (Lamb ribs with Mac and cheese and everything else) is fantastic and tastes amazing. Of all the restaurants I have eaten at this is up there with the best and has now become a lunchtime staple for my colleagues and I. The food is fresh, authentic and tasty. The service is great too - always served with a smile. Make sure to drop in if you're in the local area!

Highly recommend this place, the food is absolutely delicious! Have got the chicken wrap and chips for only £6 and it has been amazing every time. The guy running it is really sound as well.

What can I say….. ONE OF THE BEST FOOD IN SOUTH EAST LONDON AND ITS FRESH. The flavour is outstandingly unfathomable, you need to try it to understand. At first I thought it will be mediocre but I was proven wrong. Authentic with a twist, now it’s my go to place. I used to walk past Tescos just to see if he was open. i bought wings and black bean rice with plantain which I get all the time. I’ll be trying the wrap soon. My mouth was watering from the smell alone and once I started eating I just couldn’t stop 🤤 🤤 🔥 ♥️ 🍗 🍚 🔥
