Where to Go Eat in Chula Vista | Eater San Diego

"While this intimate strip mall hangout captures the real feel of izakaya-style pubs, its most popular menu items lean more toward a border-Japanese mashup. The Chula Vista ”phomen” is a crossover between chicken broth and pho, but with enough lime and chili pepper to remind you of local Mexican influence. The maximalist Abre La Boca Mucho roll (“open your mouth wide”, in Spanish) is a tempura shrimp roll topped with spicy crab and extra shrimp, perfect for munching out or sharing over Sapporos." - Mario A. Google
My main issue is that everything here is pretty pricey and you don't get something exceptional in exchange. Specialty sushi rolls hover on the $17 area upwards to $20. The bowl of ramen pictured was $20 and pretty mid. Dry pieces of chicken, ok noodles, so so broth. The place itself is chaotic and the service is rushed to keep up. It's open later than most places around so maybe that explains why it was so busy on a Sunday night. Maybe there's something I missed. I don't know. 3.5 stars.

Google
Decided I wanted to come in by myself to enjoy a bowl of ramen and some sake. I was immediately welcomed. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Staff were kind and the food was delicious. I had an amazing time despite eating alone. The staff member “Go” was kind and checked in on me often. Thank you for the delicious food and hospitality, Go! I will be coming back! Thank you for the Hi-Chew candy too! Arigato!

I’ve been coming to this place for years. Highly recommend dining here. The ambience is super calm and chill. The service is very kind and friendly. They put so much quality and effort to making their rolls. And also if you do take out they make sure to go through your order with you to make sure everything is in there. And also their House Sriracha is sooooo good! Highly recommend dining here!!!

Nice sushi place to come and try, got the hawaiin roll it was delicious, also the Abre la Boca Mucho was good i would recomend it. Parking is Limited sometimes but overall good place to come and try.

Google
Amazing. Sushi. Rolls. Been buying sushi here for three years now and it's one of the best, most consistent sushi experiences I've ever had. The staff is friendly, professional, and accommodating. Wait times for sit down are decent, wait times for pick up are a bit long and they should work on that. If you're picking-up I would recommend ordering ahead by phone and giving them an extra 10-15 minutes no matter how long they say it'll take, I've always had to wait extra time. The wait is worth it though so I'm not too upset by it. The price is reasonable, the rolls I pick from are around $15-20 a roll but they do have more affordable options (~$10). They're a good size, flavorful, and taste fresh. Our go-to's are the Chula Vista Roll, the Bonita Roll, and the Orange-Lemon Roll. Plus, the soups are good too ! The restaurant is a little tight as the majority of the space is the kitchen. But it's a cozy space with a calm vibe. You can see the cooks for the most part but they do have some tables that are more private. Bathrooms are clean and the restaurant is too. Great food and experience !

This is one of the BEST places to get sushi and ramen, the staff is very nice and the food is delicious, the Chula Vista ramen is so good and would definitely recommend. The ambience is so cozy and nice and I’m not lying water is so good. I am very picky about my sushi and this place is my go to sushi spot.

Everyone was super kind and the food was fresh and delicious. Our server was so sweet, and the owner Go/ Goh/ Gou introduced himself and was so welcoming. Highly recommend coming here !

Google
Wonderful service and staff serving delicious ramen and rolls = 5 stars! The ramen broth reminds me of what you find in Japan - savory and seasoned just right. I especially love the cilantro and jalapeño option. All our bowls had generous portions of chicken, and I love the variety of toppings you can add on. Very reasonably priced seasoned egg (two halves). The $5 add-on California roll is a great deal! I love the sushi roll options - Japanese with a Mexican twist. Easy free parking is a plus. We had a nice time chatting with the owner, Go, after our meal. We went a little later in the evening after the dinner rush, and the vibe was chill and cozy. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Our first visit here (thought we were headed to Kanpai down the road) and it did not disappoint. Quaint seating as you pass the blue velvet rope- but, limited four tops as you walk towards the back. It is refreshing for a limited menu selection. It saves time from flipping page after page deciding what to order. And it keeps food turnaround swift in the back. I didn't realize ramen bowls are topped off with chicken cha shu! Our server, kindly pointed that out as I was selecting items from the toppings menu. I was able to substitute the chicken for the pork cha shu. Mmm! Added the seasoned egg (which is two halves). Just a bit FYI since other spots will have a HALF egg for the same price. Gotta add Nori, make sure to spread them out a bit more before submerging in the broth! Garlic butter really added a velvety taste to the chicken broth. And the fried tofu wasn't as fried as I'd expected it to be- but, still delicate to absorb the yummy broth and not take away from the silky smooth texture inside. Servers always welcomed guests as they entered. It was great to meet Go (owner) as we walked out. He asked for our feedback and we introduced ourselves to him. He mentioned he wants to add more toppings and other items to the menu! Stay tuned and support local!

Yelp
Amazing service - very friendly and attentive staff. The sushi was good and you get some pretty big portions but it did seem a little pricey for the quality, but I should also note I was visiting from LA and Im not sure what average price for fresh sushi rolls might be in the area. I got the Algo Refrescante roll and the Southeast Rolls and the $5 California roll add on. Both of the fresh rolls were good. I also made it during their HH and got a small sapporo for $3.50 :)

Yelp
I saw the craziest review of this place and had to add my own because as a local that's been coming here for a few years- this is the only place in Chula Vista with fresh fish for sushi. The service is remarkable. I saw someone complain about imitation crab on a review... why would you order that if you don't like it? Anyways I personally don't like imitation crab so I always get the Tekka roll and the Negihama roll- never disappoints!! My staple If I want something a little more 'fancy' I get the Algo Refrescante roll. I love that they also have ramune. The place has the perfect set up inside- so cozy and intimate. I usually order to go because I live close but when I dine in it's always been a pleasant experience. I love this place and am so grateful it exists!

Yelp
Hidden Gem in Chula Vista for Sushi and Ramen. I am a Sashimi lover of Fresh cuts of flavorfull melt like Butter Salmon and Tuna Sashimi. I went for the Best cuts of Salmon Sashimi and Tuna Nigri. Very simple and Fresh. I loved it bottom line. I have lived in the South Bay area of San Diego all my life . This little hidden Gem for Sushi has definitely got my full attention. I will be making this my New Sushi spot based on Freshness, simplicity of the Menu and Outstanding Customer Service with a Calm soothing Japanese Ambiance. I will be Back to try the Ramen next time. The Miso soup was outstanding making me want to Order the Ramen, however I could only eat so much so I am excited for next time.

Yelp
I had heard from several friends that this is the place for sushi in Chula Vista so I had to stop on my most recent trip! I got there right at 5 and there was already a line. Since I was by myself, I was able to get seated right away. I was immediately greeted and put in my for the lemon garlic edamame, the yellowtail crudo, and a drink. When my edamame arrived a short time later, I ordered a few rolls. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite thing was the edamame. I am now a firm believer that all edamame needs lemon. This is a cute spot with incredible food and even better service. Next time I am in the San Diego area, I will definitely stop it.

Yelp
Staff is warm and friendly as soon as you enter! Very attentive to seating you. Quick with taking order and the server was informative helping us choose options from the menu. We had Chula Vista Ramen Bowl and Salt Ramen Bowl!! Wow the flavors in the broth were amazing. We will be back !! Also meet the owner who came to our table to check on us to make sure the food was good.

Yelp
We came here for the first time on a Saturday around 5pm, waited about 25 min to get seated, and during that wait 6 other parties came in shortly after! So this place gets busy FAST! Service was OK, we got our sushi before we got water.. had to ask twice for it. But the sushi was BOMB! A little on the pricier side so I'd recommend coming for the lunch prices instead. The Suppicy ramen, on the other hand, was so bland... I'm also used to pork chashu in my ramen so the chicken breast threw me off. Also, it costs $2 for a boiled egg. Couldn't do it! Would not recommend the ramen, stick with the sushi!
google avatar

Vanessa M.

Yelp
They have the best ramen in Chula Vista! I would recommend this place to everyone! Their crispy chicken is a must! You won't be disappointed!

Francisco B.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, but it was a letdown. I ordered the Chula Vista Ramen $17 plus tax and it came with nothing but broth, clumpy noodles, a pile of green onions, and chicken that looked pre-grilled but had a boiled, rubbery texture. That's it, unless you want to pay extra for basic add-ons like an egg or corn. The noodles were soggy and stuck together, like they had been sitting too long. Orginally came for sushi but it was waaaaay overpriced to only get 8 pieces for a premium price. On top of that, service was slow; we waited about 20 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. The restaurant looks nice, but that's about all it has going for it. Definitely not worth the money. Save yourself the disappointment and eat somewhere else such as Harumama if you're craving good ramen or Saki Sushi & Grill if you're craving sushi (they don't charge an arm or leg and its waaaaaay better)

Yelp
Blah. Food is just whatever for me , ordered a rice bowl. The rolls are just average. I heard from my kids that the ramen was good. Everyone greets you in a friendly way upon entering. Very casual atmosphere; so much so that the server wears pjs. Yes; wearing pajamas to work. They take your order, bring you the food. Don't bother with dirty dishes. We had dinner and a couple of drinks after dinner and the stack of plates just sat there. Just because you are automatically adding a tip to bill; doesn't relieve you from your server duties. You still need to clear my table. Apparently that's just too much customer service. I don't get what people love about this place? It closes late; that's the only reason I've ever visited. Very few places serve this late ( past 9pm on a weekday).

Yelp
What a great experience! My Husband read great reviews about this sushi spot. We decided to try it out on a Friday Night. When we arrived, there were two other parties waiting to be seated. The staff immediately greets everyone who comes in with a "welcome!"? All said in unison, pretty nice. You sign in onto a paper sheet at the front. Make sure that you enter at the door on the left. There is one way in and one way out. It took about a 7-10min wait to be seated, as we chose the sushi bar. The place was packed. Our server was a nice dude in a white baseball cap. He took our drink order and appetizer: 1 0% alcohol beer, 1 Kurukirishima (Sweet Potato) Sho__-Chu, and a Chicken Karaage. The drinks were very cold and perfect. The Chicken was very crisp and juicy. We then ordered several assorted rolls and enjoyed them very much. Please see the pictures for the ones that we ordered. The greatest and most popular one here is called the Abre La Boca Mucho. We thought that was really cute so we ordered that last. The owner was very very warm as well as all of the sushi chefs that we had. I will say that it's a cool experience to sit at the bar so you can watch them prepare everything. I had planned to bring my sister back here because she was visiting from Japan but we ran out of time. For sure we will be bringing her when she returns. Overall, this was an excellent experience. Thank you.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I'm not sure when exactly Izakaya Naruto opened, but I've been coming here since 2014 or 2015 ish. This is my absolute favorite restaurant ever! The food quality that you get here is unmatched by any other izakaya or sushi restaurants! I have never encountered an unfriendly staff member here in the entire decade that I've been there. I really appreciate how frequently you see the owner's face, and how hard he works to keep this place to its own high standards! I personally really appreciate the policies they have, and how they're visible anywhere in the front. People often act like this place is "weird" and has dumb rules, but 100% of the time it's because they don't take the time to read those policies. One thing you can count on Izakaya Naruto to be is BUSY. Whenever I show this place to someone new, that's the first thing they notice, but I always mention that it should tell them how good the food is! Over the course of time, I have seen the prices go up here and there, but this is the one place where I don't mind that too much because the quality is THAT good! It definitely has a traditional Japanese Izakaya vibe where people go to socialize and catch up! In my opinion, MUST haves from their menu include: -Chula Vista Ramen -Orange Lemon Roll -Abre La Boca Mucho Roll -Spicy Lemon Garlic Edamame -Jalapeño Poppers I cannot recommend this place enough!

Yelp
The food is good The ambiance is good Prices are way too high And service is OK We went there yesterday and the sushi was very good, our check quiet literally never arrived. We had to go up to the front to get charged after waiting around 20 minutes.

Yelp
I came on a Saturday for dinner and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The staff were attentive and accommodating. Despite how busy they were, they would check in on us to see if there was anything we needed. I enjoyed my salmon sashimi and shrimp tempura with lemon mayo!
google avatar

Erik L.

Yelp
The service was phenomenal and the food was great as well. We enjoyed the staff and the policies they set for seating and waiting for your table. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
One of my favorite sushi spots but my absolute favorite ramen joints. Definitely is on the smaller side so we always go right when it opens to avoid a wait or order pick up. The Tokyo Metro, Algo Refrescante, and Viva Chula Vista specialty rolls are our faves while the Chula Vista ramen with the cilantro/jalapeño blend is delicious! The cha-shu chicken in the ramen is tender and flavorful and the add-on toppings such as seasoned eggs and garlic butter are plentiful. If you are going for classic, authentic options this is your place - the 2 piece sushi and sashimi offerings will keep you satisfied. The reviews on this place won't steer you wrong- you definitely will enjoy Izakaya Naruto!

Yelp
We arrived 5 mins before they opened, our fault we didn't even bother checking the hours. We were greeted and politely told us that they opened in 5 mins, so we waited in the car. What's 5 minutes. However, during those 5 minutes I was already having second thoughts. We really don't like being the first guest at restaurants. So within those 5 minutes we were already searching for an alternative. An employee saw us in car and waved us in. The person who greeted us and waved us in was Kevin, who was our server. And because of him and his gesture, we stayed. And oh my gosh, glad we did. It was clean and had a nice friendly vibe. Kevin was great! He answered questions and made recommendations which we always appreciate. We ordered the Lemon Mayo Shrimp Tempura, Sup'picy Chicken Ramen, Jalapeño Popper, California Roll and Yellowtail Nigiri. The shrimp tempura with lemon mayo, was delicious. The batter was light and the sauce was delicate but flavorful. It reminded me of honey walnut shrimp but this was so much better. The jalapeño popper, was good as well. Not greasy and nice and crispy. The Sup'picy chicken ramen, had a nice broth not too spicy it was nice. The only part I did not enjoy much was the chicken cha-shu which was a bit dry and reminded me of rotisserie chicken. Nonetheless, it was a yummy bowl of ramen. The Yellowtail nigiri was fresh! And portion was generous. The rice was not too cold or sticky. Definitely a great place. Love the vibe and the staff.

Yelp

Kait P.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, but overall it was very mid. The vibes are there with the authentic Japanese look, but the ramen itself was just okay. It's chicken ramen with basic/weak toppings; basic green onions and one naruto piece. Anything else you'll have to pay extra to add. They had a deal to add a side of California rolls for $4.99 which was actually pretty good for 8 pieces. Service was okay, they're friendly but the place was half empty and we had to press the service button twice just to get a check. I'm a foodie and my phone almost always eats first, but here, wasn't even interested in a pic.

Yelp
This has been my go to sushi spot for over a decade!! Recently ventured down their Nigiri menu and it did not disappoint!! The omelette is amazing!!! Blew my ever lovin' mind. Abre la Boca is and always will be my favorite roll on the menu. Also, I love how traditional Japanese vibe. Come early and hungry.

Yelp
I was in the area for work and was craving sushi so I came here. Small place with great service! Everyone was so attentive from the minute you walk in. The tables had a "call" button that you can press when you need something or when you are ready which was great. I had the miso soup and the Algo Refrescante roll it was great. Everything was so fresh!! Try this place out!
google avatar

Rebekah H.

Yelp
Some friends brought my husband and I here one night, they've been before but it was our first time. This is a small but nice little spot, with limited seating but it's very intimate. The service was very helpful as well. I got the salt ramen with chicken and my husband got the pizza roll and protein roll. My ramen was delicious! The broth was very flavorful, and the chicken as well. My husband definitely enjoyed both of his sushi rolls. So much so that he ordered a crunchy roll afterwards! Which was one of the best crunchy rolls he's ever had! We had a very nice time with our friends here. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it if you're wanting to splurge for some good sushi or ramen.

Kassandra R.

Yelp
The chicken in the ramen is so good! I'm super picky with the texture/type of chicken that is in ramen. It tastes more like a caldo than your traditional ramen but I love it. I take advantage whenever I'm in Chula and go here. It's a cute little hole in the wall.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
The ratings on Yelp are deceiving. We saw 1k+ reviews with about a 4.2 rating and wanted to check out this spot. If you like imitation crab, this is the place for you. Imitation crab is used as a filler for practically every roll on the menu. The waitress was nice. The wait for our food was extremely long. We ordered 6 rolls and it took more than 30 minutes.
google avatar

Damian R.

Yelp
I can't believe I just paid almost 70 dlls for 3 chicken noddle soups "ramen" with dry chicken breast took me 10 min to swallow. And sushi 18 dlls for a roll with miniature pieces ?? . I can't believe how this places are packed still I guess japanese always sells even with poor quality ‍
google avatar

Mitzy M.

Yelp
Our server was amazing! She was so kind and sweet. She provided exceptional service, recommended the perfect sushi rolls, and was both friendly and professional. We tried the Abre La Boca and Lemon Roll, and they did not disappoint. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

Yelp
Placed an order for spicy lemon garlic edamame & a Cali roll. Everything tasted good but would've been better if it was just made. Ordered at 935p & pickup time said 1025p. I figured, they must be busy. They weren't. So my food probably sat there for 35 min waiting for me while I sat at home waiting for it. Edamame was cold & Cali roll was warm. The rolls are good but a tad on the expensive side. The guy who handed me my food was great. Very welcoming & friendly. Would've been 5 stars if my food was fresh af. Fix your pickup times!

Yelp
This place is feels like home really it's so cozy! I love how they welcome you kindly and get you seated asap. The food is absolutely delicious, quite honestly I'm not a huge fan of ramen but this place ramen is so gooodddddd I love the broth snd the chicken ! If you don't like spicy ramen this is your best option.

Jacob M.

Yelp
I have never left a review on yelp but this place deserves it. The service is unmatched, timely, welcoming. The food is just as satisfying. I have no idea how this small place doesn't have a line out the door every night!

Yelp
WHOA! This restaurant in old part of Chula Vista is amazing! Very friendly employees are so attentive that demonstrated that management is doing a great job! I had a bowl of Chula Vista Ramen and OMG it was soooo good. Everyone should try at least once. Sushi was wonderful too. I definitely will come back.
google avatar

Yelp
This is not a Japanese restaurant. Just because there are Japanese people working there doesn't make it so. Never had chicken ramen before, never even heard of it. It was just a bowl of over priced chicken noodle soup. The sushi roll was a spicy tuna, first time ever with a Mexican sauce added. If you want real Japanese food this is not the place.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
My partner is gluten free and so I usually call places in advance to see if there are any gluten free options. Most of the rolls could be gluten friendly by modifying the sauce that they drizzle on top. So, I called and asked if they had any gluten friendly sushi rolls and the woman over the phone answered with just "no." So I followed up and said, "there's no modifications we can do to the rolls to make them gluten free?" Once again, the women replied, "no." No explanation, no other words, just "no" and hung up.

Yelp
Going to start by saying I rarely leave reviews, let alone bad ones. But this time I felt I needed to due to the price of this places food. I've had way better rolls for far less money. Don't understand all the hype in the reviews- I love sushi and this place was nowhere near what I'd describe as even adequate. Ok at best, couldn't finish my rolls, giving 2 stars because the staff was super friendly and helpful. Go somewhere else if you truly enjoy traditional sushi

Yelp
Alright I've been to many ramen places but this restaurant.... Great amazing and delicious!! This location has pho, ramen and sushi! I mean, how amazing is that. I came here for the first time Thursday and I'm already back on Saturday! Ramen tried: SupSpicyRamen: 15/10- broth is great, the chicken perfectly cooked and seasoned it was the good like sesame oil with soy sauce, the noodles: perfect thickness, a great portion! Spice level: 5/5 See I love spicy food, this one is perfect has a perfect kick to it, my lips are on fire, but still so good and enjoyable!! If you can't handle spicy, do not get this one- if you can, don't think twice this is *chefs kiss* Salty ramen: 10/10 Basically same as above, as explained to us it is the basic no spice. Still so good. Not salty at all haha. Crunchy roll: 9/10! So good! When you buy a ramen or pho bowl, you can order a California roll for 5.99! What a deal. I also found out that this location is open from 5-11pm. Their last call is at 10:30pm. We arrived at approximately 10pm and they had a line. Must be pretty poppin', as the kids now a days would say. Even though they had a wait manager on duty and staff still stayed after to seat us, kept thanking us for the wait but honestly so worth it. Staff: THANK YOU to everyone! Special shout out to Evan and Mr. Happy face, my favorites! Their energy was great, always attentive and maintained the restaurant clean! Made us laugh and you can tell they have fun while working! Thank you for the chocolates! If you're still reading and I haven't convinced you yet, I mean........ try it for yourself! I'm def going to become a regular!

Yelp
The service here was phenomenal! My friends and I came in here pretty late in the evening and they were nice enough to accommodate. We were edging really close to they're last call hour. So we did our best to get our order in after being seated and receiving the menu. The staff seem to be huge anime fans and it's seeing customers and staff speaking to each other about their favorite anime like they were close friends. I was really vibing the atmosphere of the place. The restaurant seems to have a designated waiting area which we ended up having to wait at since the place was pretty packed when we got in. So it's easy to say that the place was popular. Once a table was ready for us, we were immediately informed by the host. So I appreciate the attentive service here. The food here was pretty decent from the protein roll that I got. It did not feel heavy at all which was exactly what I needed that night. Solid roll! It was reasonably priced and the rest of my friends seemed to have enjoyed themselves as well. Really liked the place and wouldn't mind coming back the next time I visit the area.

Yelp
So good but a little disappointed they shrunk the restaurant after Covid to make room for take out orders and storage. Kind of killed the vibe, but the food is still really good. The ramen and sushi are delicious. If they made the sit down vibe better again I would go in person but for now we just get take out and way less often.

Angel F.

Yelp
Please for the mother of god!!!! If you're craving ramen please please don't go here, I'm saving you time and money!!! Worst ramen I've had in my life!!

i was quite surprised by the high reviews of this place and we came to check it out. parking wasn't an issue but the restaurant isn't too big so there is a wait list. i would try to avoid the peak hours if you had a bigger party! as for the food, i got the soy sauce ramen. and as a fan of ramen and having tried many places, there are definitely better ramen restaurants. i didn't add any toppings but it's quite pricey for not having much in it. there also isn't a wide variety of toppings offered like other restaurants, so if you're looking for authentic ramen, this is not the place. my bf got the teriyaki chicken bowl and he likes the amount of mayo they put in. the avocado roll was decent too, but it's hard to mess that up. overall it's a nice little restaurant and i would come here again if there aren't any other ramen places around, but i do think there are better japanese restaurants out there!

Yelp
How have I not been to this place and it's literally in my neck of the woods! Quaint restaurant with an extensive menu. Got the typical chicken karaage, california and pizza roll. All were really delicious. Employees here are super nice and very attentive! Portions are adequate, however prices here seem a little more steep than other sushi restaurants. Will be my local sushi spot when craving Japanese food!

Yelp
A solid sushi choice in Chula Vista! Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance, friendliness of the staff, and the unique rolls. But it is a bit on the pricier side for what you get. The restaurant is on the smaller side, maybe 30ish people total can be seated. We went on a Sunday at 8pm and got seated immediately, but we did take the last available table so parties after us did have to wait. They also have very specific policies on seating posted on the walls since wait times could get long. The staff was so friendly!! Though service was a bit on there slower side because it was busy (for example, we got our miso soup late when it Is usually a starter). Our rolls tasted great though! food ordered - miso soup: good, standard miso - orange lemon: lemon aioli was delicious and this was a well balanced roll! - protein roll: in true protein style, there is no rice. there were tons of different flavors in this roll, but was still enjoyable - algo refrescante: this was super zingy! the lemon was strong. also noticed they used a different rice for this... not sure if they just ran out of sushi rice but it was still a good roll

Yelp
I really wanted to like these guys more, but there's just so much more room for improvement. Let's start with the staff. Super welcoming, excellent waiters/hosts. They're extremely friendly and really the reason for all 3 stars for me. I did not have their ramen. I'm not really a big chicken broth fan for ramen and I prefer pork broth instead, so I didn't even try it. To be quite honest, almost everything I ate was pretty standard. Nothing blew my mind. The orange lemon roll was like a cali roll with salmon and mayo on top. The Cajun tuna roll was pretty mid too. At least it didn't taste old for me. The Abre La Boca Roll was kind of weird. It's the most requested but the top half is cold and the bottom half was warm. I wasn't expecting the change in temp. The jalapeño poppers were the best to me, but also something you can get at other sushi spots the Lemon Mayo Shrimp was like a 2/5. Not a lot of flavor. The karage was fresh and good though. The orders were coming out randomly. The orders did not come out in order, some tables got their food before us, but they ordered some of the same items, even though we ordered first. The bathroom not the greatest. They ran out of toilet seat covers. Their "hot sake" was like warm sake. Normally, hot sake comes out piping hot at other restaurants, but it was like Luke warm all 3 times. I really wanted to like this place because the staff was so friendly, but I really couldn't get over how mediocre everything was for me. I would probably not come back, but also wouldn't be mad if I had to eat here again. It was just okay for me.

Yelp
Izakaya Naruto was a pleasant surprise. Their sushi was yummy and we especially loved the shrimp tempura. I've never had it the way they make it and it was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend! Not only was the food good but the owner and the servers all have the funnest personalities. My dad had a good time cracking jokes with them all dinner. Good vibes all around. :)

Yelp
Service was terrible. Waiting for someone to take out order for over 20 mins, failed to explain to us to ring the bell when we were ready to order. Ordered a Cajun tuna roll & the tuna tasted off and looked weird told one of the servers if we can exchange the roll for a different one and they said we couldn't get a refund since I touched a piece of the roll and it's policy. I also ordered spicy garlic edamame and they never brought it out, turns out they didn't put the order in. $1 extra for lemons 80¢ extra for each sriracha, spicy mayo and eel sauce

Yelp
My daughter decided to give them a try after my last visit and this time the chicken serving size was appropriate - More chicken in her Ramen so thank you. I added pictures . :) ... Thank you for adding more chicken to your Ramen order as this makes purchasing a lot more worth it . Hopefully chicken serving size stays consistent in the Ramen . Another update- ordering take out has also improved a lot in the last couple years - online ordering now available - thank you!
