Absolutely delicious! We had all you can eat lunch. My husband had chicken hibachi, he said it was good. I had 5 different sushi rolls. I highly recommend the sweet potato with eel sauce. I devoured that one!

Google
Izumi Sushi Buffet – A Surprising Hit Walked in with low expectations. You hear “sushi buffet” and think soggy rice, dry fish, and sad soy sauce. But Izumi flips the script. The quality? Surprisingly solid. The fish was fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned, and presentation clean. Standouts included the buttery hamachi, rich unagi, bright maguro, and tender squid all plated like you paid double for it. The selection? Better than expected. Not just the basics. They rotate premium cuts, and nothing sat out too long. Impressive for a buffet. Service? Spot on. Fast, friendly, and attentive without hovering. Verdict? Not just “good for a buffet.” It’s just good. Period. Would recommend and return.

Google
Very good! Miso soup was delicious and dumplings were good! We enjoyed it very much. My friend's sushi wasn't her favorite. But the steak hibachi noodles were amazing!

Google
Got the sashimi appetizer to go. Sashimi pieces were nice and thick. Fresh and delicious and great price!! Will definitely go again next time I am in Fargo.

Google
What an amazing place! Great food, great price and the service was spectacular. My teammate and I are over the road truckers and we ALWAYS get sushi from all over the country. We definitely recommend this place.

Google

Google
Really enjoyed this experience.😋😋😋 Food was all good!!!! Not one complain.🎉👍🏽 Server was great. (Alex) All you can eat $29.95 Win Win. Eat all or pay for wasted food 😁 Love the concept of no wasted food.

Google
so normaly I complain and nit pick but I honestly loved this place. food was great not to salty and not too sugary unlike 90% of the other asian restaurants in Fargo... I could tell they used smoked katsuobushi in their soup base. . . I could also tell the used steamed short grain rice in the sushi very much the proper way of cooking the rice . . . overall 9.5/10 The letdowns. but easy to fix. Cheap, Wasabi ! Cmon why go to all the effort with sushi and then have cheap wasabi paste or greenpea flavored Wasabi. Toilets were dirty. not in that they are not cleaned but in that they were cleaned in a rush at the end of the day and have not had a deep clean for some time. General atmosphere: very much a function over form build. there were containers in corners and a lot of back-end stuff in front with customers. also had wrestling on TV. very much let down the idea of going to an Asian place to eat... overall, the back end of the resteraunt was outstanding and best in Fargo "so far". Front end has alot of potential but feels like it was originally designed by an American and then bought out and taken over the current asian owners. I have seen this before where the owners work 24hrs a day to save money and miss things when they are tired. Has a lot of potential to be best asian restaurant but owners probably need to take more pride in front of the house.

Yelp
Izumi sets the bar for a restaurant in its class!! I have never had a bad dining experience at one yet! The places are always busy, yet the folks working there always keep the food coming. The food is always tasty and obviously fresh as you can literally watch them prepare it! Definitely one of me and my family's favorites!!

Erik R.

Yelp
Delivery driver left the food outside my hotel room, no knock or text. I didn't find out it was there until I called GrubHub to check on my order 45 mins later. Food probably would have been good if it was warm.

Yelp
Super awesome experience, all you can eat is an understatement. You can literally eat all evening as long as you're actually eating it then you may be up charged
google avatar

Brock B.

Yelp
Izumi is a great value if you choose the all you can eat sushi. The atmosphere is casual. The caveat is you better eat what you order or you'll get charged extra with this option. You can also just order other selections off the menu. The food is fresh and delicious. Service is good. I have visited both locations and experienced the same value and quality. Strongly recommended to try if you love sushi .

Abby B.

Yelp
My friends and I came to Izumi on Veterans Blvd. today for all you can eat sushi and had a great experience! Everything we ate- appetizers, soups, sushi and specialty rolls, hibachi, and desserts- was delicious! I also want to shout out our awesome waiter, David, who made our supper even better! He answered our questions about the food, gave us plenty of time in between our courses, and was so friendly! When we ordered ice cream for dessert, he brought us fried oreos too because his "daughter says it's the best." My friends and I will be back for sure!

Bridget K.

Yelp
Dinner was hot, delicious, with great service. Hibachi dinners with sushi appetizer to share.

Yelp
Took our family of six here on a Saturday lunch time. Food took forever to get and we had to order on one menu so it was impossible to tell what things were. We didn't get at least a third of what we ordered - and we didn't order a lot, just an app, a roll of sushi a piece and a little sashimi. We had to ask three times for things. Service was horrible and our server was actually quite rude. Got upset when we asked for water. It cost $347 for us - three kids and 3 adults who didn't overeat and didn't leave any wasted food. There was an automatic 18% service charge added to the bill. The little ones were charged full price for the 'all you can eat' even though they hardly ate much. The rolls were just 'okay' - I would say akin to what you might find in a grocery store. Definitely very heavy on the rice and low on the protein. The sashimi pieces were paper thin and the size of a nickel. We actually left an all you can eat buffet that cost several days' wages still hungry because they just wouldn't bring out food we asked for. Would NEVER go here again. Everyplace else we've been for sushi was SO much better than this place.

Goldenboy M.

Yelp
First of all let's start with the mouse that ran across the room and scared my kids Worst sushi ever I it was old and taste like it was sitting out for days Manager was very rude Dirty restrooms Workers where not wearing gloves and better option to eat sushi than this Very racist place

Kelvin D.

Yelp
EAT HERE!! We went in for a family birthday celebration. The food was excellent. Everything was wonderful. DAVID , our server is the best service we have ever received in the greater FARGO MOORHEAD area. He made the birthday celebration twice as good with his wonderful service, his kindness humor, and overall demeanor. He was very helpful and very attentive! We will be back for sure!!!

Yelp
Did pick up, Looked great, and tasted totally worth. I got the kalamari and dragon roll.

Yelp
Great place for a sushi lover. Had the ALCE and everything was good. Fast and attentive service. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Seriously, so good. We went for lunch for the all you can eat- everything is very clean and all employees in masks. We ordered: Shumai Calamari Philly Roll Rainbow Roll Eel Roll Ichiban Roll Chicken Japanese Curry Shumai- delicious. Calamari- meh. It was over done but still tasty. All rolls were very good, VERY fresh. The Ichiban was probably our favorite. The Japanese curry was just okay. My fiancé has had in in Japan though, and we're from CA where you can get it from a lot of places so we're probably a tad picky ‍ All in all, really great food and experience.

Yelp
Lunch buffet is a great deal and doesn't take longer than an hour. It's hard for me to justify the dinner buffet as it is $27 for "all you can eat" meaning that you have to eat it all. The buffet rolls are substantially smaller than if you just order off of the menu, but you get to try many different rolls if you're with a big group. Their Hibachi is also tasty! Some of my favorites are the Crazy roll, Caterpillar roll, Hollywood roll, and Captain Jack roll.

Daxon F.

Yelp
I went there with a friend and let me just say. the sushi is good but there is some thinks that stink. first off it smelt like a bathroom with cleaning chemicals for some reason, the place was packed but it has a cool vibe with the walls and the service is excellent!
google avatar

Eka D.

Yelp
I was there a few day ago, and served by Rose... She served us so well and fast, the sushi is excelent....i recomend the shu mai that rose suggest us to try.... I will be back with my family later.

Devyn P.

Yelp
Best place in town to get sushi. It's even better that they give you the option to do all you can eat. The service is usually pretty good and the staff is super friendly. Even when it's busy, it doesn't take long to be sat. Great environment for a date night, or a family dinner. A little pricy, but absolutely worth it if you do the all you can eat.
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed at the Microtel West Fargo while in town and walked to Izumi. Had the lunch All You Can Eat for $16.95/person. The only All You Can Eat places I have been to are buffets - I thought it was classy that for this restaurant, you order what you want off the menu and they bring it to you. Variety and quality of the food was great, and the portion sizes for the different dishes were perfect - not too much and not too little. My mom and I are both vegetarians and had plenty to choose from. We got the AAC roll (6 pieces), the edamame, the miso soup, the tempura broccoli, the Hibachi veggie dish, and the veggie soba noodles soup - which were all excellent. The tofu (4 pieces) was the best I have eaten in a long while. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Carlo I.

Yelp
I'd recommend diving in their Teriyaki and Hibachi stuff! The Chef's special rolls are great to share. Servers are polite and attentive. Not so keen with their sushi, sashimi, tempura and udon/soba.
google avatar

Candis A.

Yelp
Their sushi needs more complexity. My family eats there when we don't want to drive too far from home.

Jacob H.

Yelp
Food was good as always, but the service was amazing. Our waiter was David and he was truly the best waiter I've ever had. he brightened everyone's Day.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Very clean, tough communicating with my server but we got everything I wanted. Miso Soup was hot and very flavorful. Hibachi Shrimp Fried Rice is a bomb, you have to try it...Definitely enough for 2.
google avatar

Linh T.

Yelp
This is my favorite sushi in town. Yeah, I know I could not ask for super fresh sushi cause I live in Fargo. But hey, they do a pretty good job here. However, sashimi slices should be thinner next time. Sometimes I feel like you guys just slice it into cubes, and it's very unpleasant.

Darcy D.

Yelp
This is the go to spot for sushi in Fargo. Ordering sit down or take out- the consistency of delicious food is always spot on! You can order easily on their website for take out, I love the convenience. Izumi leaves me wanting more every single time, even though I'm so fully I can hardly walk to my car after the meal. I probably order sushi every other week and I have yet to get a bad meal. The rock N roll is my favorite roll. You must try it!!
google avatar

Darcy R.

Yelp
Thee worst sushi I've ever tasted. Everything tasted like it had been dipped in pine-sol or Mr. Clean.

Jess G.

Yelp
If I'm being honest I was expecting something a bit more based on the reviews. Don't get me wrong, it was good but this order didn't really scream $52.46 to me ‍
google avatar

Yelp
It was a cold windy night in Fargo. I didn't want to leave the warmth of my hotel room. But I DID want to have a delicious comforting dinner. So I ordered sushi and hibachi from Izumi. Let me say... it was the best decision ever. Pretty sure I just chugged the soup first. It did a great job of warming up my belly! The rest, was too much food, so I went back and forth. But for real guys, and I mean this, the freaking edamame was TO DIE FOR! Like, what?!? So yeah. I will order this all again. And don't worry, I ate the rest the next night. #nosushileftbehind

Yelp
I have eaten here many times in the past but this time I ended up very sick. Sorry for the graphic information but have been over a toilet vomiting for hours now and had severe stomach cramps. All signs of food poisoning. I probably won't be going back for a long time after how miserable I feel right now. UPDATE: it's now morning and yep it's for sure food poisoning. I have been up all night puking and the other end too with horrible stomach pain. It's now 8am and I still can't be more than 4 feet from a bathroom.
google avatar

Yelp
My brother and I eat here a lot. Last time we tried the Sanford roll and it was really good. I also really love the squid salad.
google avatar

Manuel P.

Yelp
All you can eat sushi? Never heard of that before. Curiosity overcame me, and I had to give it a try. I do love sushi, if its made well. Happily, this meal met expectations. I was (very) afraid the sushi was going to be low grade or small, and neither was the case. Regular and special rolls on par with what you would find in most other sushi places. I was able to try several, including the Kiss of Fire and the Time Bomb rolls, as well as the Philly roll. All were good. We also tried curry chicken (ok but bland), hibachi salmon and veggies (tasty) and assorted tempura appetizers and soups. Finished off with green tea ice cream, which was fantastic. DO NOT forget to finish with the green tea ice cream. 26.95 for an adult (kids are cheaper, depends on the age) AYCE only makes sense if you are very hungry. But if you are, you won't be after you leave this place! Even if you aren't into sushi, there is enough on the menu to satisfy.

Yelp
Wife and I had the all you can eat dinner. You order from an ala carte menu like most all you can eat sushi places. There are a lot of things on the menu but we only ordered sushi, sushi rolls, miso, seaweed salad, chicken soba, shumai, shrimp tempura and ice cream. The fish on the sushi was small but we just made up for it by ordering more. Another thing I should mention is that the fish was almost room temp where in Japan it was always cold. We had spicy salmon, spicy tuna, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, squid, shrimp, fish roe, and octopus. All were good. For sushi rolls we had the mermaid, hollywood, ichiban, and crispy crab. The last 2 are deep fried and were very good. Shrimp tempura - pretty good Chicken soba - ok, not much flavor until we dipped it in the tempura sauce miso soup - pretty good Seaweed salad - very good Shumai - fried, but it was actually good Ice cream - green tea and red bean were good If you are wondering whats the difference between lunch and dinner, the lunch does not have sashi and hibachi I believe. I would recommend the all you can eat over ordering individual dishes. Little expensive but worth it if you plan to eat a lot of sushi. Service was excellent! Our server was very nice and always stopped by to see if we needed anything. Overall, very good sushi restaurant for North Dakota.
google avatar

Travis L.

Yelp
Izumi isn't a typical Asian buffet. It's all you can eat al carte style plates. You can choose what you would like on a order form and it's made to order in a small plate. The ingredients are fresh and the food, though prepared to order, comes out very fast and cook to perfection. Each customer will pay about $17 for each individual person, but the food is worth it and it's all you can eat. Staff stays on top of orders as well as beverages. There is a standard menu but I haven't tried that yet.
google avatar

Hailey W.

Yelp
I found this place late in the evening as I was starving and driving around town near my hotel. I was surprised to hear about the all you can eat sushi, and the extensive menu and offerings! $26 for the 3 rolls, nigiri, rangoon and soup is a steal! Everything tasted great and the rolls didn't look any smaller than I'd get in any sushi restaurant. The recipes were delicious and if I lived closer, I would absolutely be back.
google avatar

Devin J.

Yelp
My sister and I had eaten there another time with our mom, but this time we met for lunch just the two of us. We ordered the all you can eat. We were enjoying it, but at the very end it really got disappointing and annoying!! Our waitress came over and told us "If you don't eat all your food you'll get charged." (I thought the point of getting the all you can eat is so you can try different things... what happens when you don't like a certain sushi or roll? You don't want to eat it then!) but then she said she'd let it slide this time, but that if we didn't eat all of it next time we'd get a charge. This is seriously bad for business, and I'd recommend that the people who own this establishment inform their waiters and waitresses not to say this. As it will just push people away. People don't like being pushed to eat things. Flashbacks from elementary school and the crabby cook come to mind. Not good! We aren't going to come back. We don't like having a waitress get in our face and tell us to eat something we didn't like. Plus, that's not how an all you can eat works, Izumi! Get with it. You charge for the all you can eat and then let the people eat. You don't charge them again if they don't want to finish their food. Not cool.
google avatar

Court W.

Yelp
Good sushi for Fargo. Portions are huge when ordering off the menu, perfect size when ordering the all you can eat. If you're really hungry, it's definitely worth the $27, if you have a smaller appetite like myself it's not. My boyfriend ordered the hibachi which was great. I ordered the miso soup, izumi roll, and the kani salad. Not bad but probably wouldn't order again. If you're a big kani salad fan I would skip ordering it here; its overloaded with cucumbers. Overall it's probably some of the better Japanese food here in Fargo with our limited options.
google avatar

Donegal H.

Yelp
My family and I love this place! We generally go for the all-you-can-eat option they offer which lets you and your party fill out a your selections and order together. As long as you eat everything you order, you pay the low rate per person. This is an AMAZING deal for some truly delicious sushi, sashimi, habachi, and more.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
This place is just terribly slow, I thought it was becausE they were busy as the first time I had came here they had quite a lot of orders. This time I arrive after order two basic rolls 30 minutes ago and they aren't ready, not to mention zero people in the restaurant and the one chef doesn't seem to be to stressed.
google avatar

Asha F.

Yelp
This was a last minute choice and it did not disappoint! Ordering can kinda be confusing but once you get passed that it's smooth sailing. The service is awesome! Very polite, very helpful, just all around awesome! My husband and i went with our three month old in his carseat and we sat in a booth and it was just perfect. I recommend the hibachi chicken and steak. With the sushi rolls #9 and #20 So good! We did visit on Christmas Day and even then it was great! The only thing is that the bathrooms were not that clean. You can tell that the day just got away from them and they were focusing on guest which is understandable
google avatar

UA A.

Yelp
Sushi was old and rubbery.. The ginger looked like it's been out for a couple days.. The tea tasted instant..
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Food was ready really fast and was really good! I had the hibachi chicken, came with extra sauce!
google avatar

Eric W.

Yelp
Superb Japanese cuisine for FM area. Nice decor and outstanding fresh food will get you carried away to Little Tokyo located in West Fargo. One suggestion, go there hungry.
google avatar

LeAnn S.

Yelp
It was my first time eating here and I picked it because it said Hibachi. I love the yummy yummy sauce and figured I would give them a shot. This is not the traditional cook on front of you Hibachi, but the food was great. My waiter brought me a whole pitcher of sauce to use. I did not do it, but they have an all you can eat Hibachi menu as well as sushi. So, if you are in the area, go ahead and try it. I know I put this on my "eat here again" list.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
An all you can eat sushi place in Fargo? I was skeptical and also afraid I wouldn't be getting my moneys worth but I was very wrong. They have a very extensive menu included with the all you can eat, so you won't leave hungry. We tried a slew of everything and we were continually impressed. The appetizers were delicious and the pot stickers were fantastic. The sushi was also all really impressive! I also just enjoyed the dining experience this offered. We really took our time ordering in waves and we never waited very long on our food. I think our group of 7 stayed for a few hours and we had a great night chatting with friends and meeting some new people while trying awesome food.
google avatar

Sandra W.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! super friendly staff and you can watch the guys making the sushi if you want to, my one and only complaint was that my calamari was over cooked to the point it was rubbery which made me slightly disappointed, but everything else was so tasty and done spot on. sushi was sooooo good, and not a whole lot of rice like a lot of it is. The seaweed salad and the octopus salad was the BEST I have ever had. It was so good I wanted to tell them to bring me the stuff in a 2 quart bowl.... The soup was really good... The only thing I will do different next time is order my items after each course. I was still eating my salad and my soup when my fried plate came so my hot stuff got cold on me. I am finding myself dreaming of when I can go back and try more.... We went here on a Saturday afternoon so there was not a lunch all you can eat and the dinner was a bit pricey but you have a little bigger selection. Well worth the price, we tried almost everything other than the sushi rolls because there was such a huge selection of fresh and cooked.
google avatar

Spencer G.

Yelp
From a person who lives in California and has had different kinds of sushi over the years in a lot of places. This place is really good and authentic for what you get. In personal experience I haven't had a place quite like this. It's really fresh and has just a lot a flavor to its rolls and dishes. It's up there for favorite places to eat in Fargo!
google avatar

Kis R.

Yelp
The sushi boat was quite the experience I had never had one before. And this is not a Baal sushi place for novice sushi lovers.
google avatar

Eden P.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and good food! I ordered the Godzilla roll and requested they add the crunchy stuff. Sooo good. The calamari was pretty good. However my personal favorite calamari includes the little squid as well as the rings. All in all, would definitely recommend giving this place a try.
google avatar

Kara O.

Yelp
A friend and I went to Izumi for lunch on a Saturday. I was immediately impressed by the layout and décor. It's a great environment - super clean, nice lighting, overall fun ambiance. We went with the all-you-can-eat option. Between the two of us, we tried at least 10 different things. From the soup to the dessert, everything was excellent. Staff were friendly. I was impressed by the speed of the service, as well. They switch to dinner pricing at all times during the weekend, so it was a bit pricy for lunch. Still, it was worth it. I'll definitely go back!
google avatar

Tim V.

Yelp
Started with the dumplings which were pretty good Had just about everything off the sushi menu and it was all very good for an all you can eat sushi place Device was fast enough and over all I would Highly recommended if you wanna stuff yourself on ok sushi in the middle of the country Oh and stick With their warm sake the cold is an odd unfiltered kind. Not bad just different

Yelp
My beautiful wife God bless her is a timid eater.. She was very pleasantly surprised. The dining room was beautifully decorated and astheticly pleasing. The waitress was very knowelagble about the dishes.. I ordered the all you can eat and had a smorgasbord of Japanese dishes. My lady had teriyaki steak and Hibachi noodles and loved them.. I had an assortment and was very happy.. I really fell in love with the mackerel sashimi. We ended this adventure with green tea ice cream.. We will be back and we will bring friends.
