Dined during a weekday night. We didn’t have any reservations but was seated quickly. We ordered chicken tortilla soup and fillet mignon. Both were prepared fresh and the steak was cooked perfectly in medium. Finished off dinner with the carrot cake. l

Google
Classic bad ingredients cooked excellently. The steak was tough, slightly better then diner quality. It was also missing salt but that might just be a choice because they have salt on the table. The shrimp scampi's butter was slightly burnt and the pasta definitely had the consistency of packaged Cisco noodles. The carrot cake was definitely the star. Wouldn't go back, incredibly overpriced for what was essentially diner quality food.

We ate at your restaurant yesterday for the first time. The service was amazing! The food just okay. The potato soup had too much pepper in it. The bbq ribs were way too spicy. Not enjoyable. But your French Dip sandwich was excellent. And your carrot cake was amazing.

Love J’s! The food is consistently good and the staff are always so friendly, great for just stopping in for brunch, or if you’re celebrating!

We celebrated my grandfather’s 94th birthday tonight, and our server, Angie, truly made the evening unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. She treated my grandfather with such kindness and patience, and you could tell she genuinely cared about making his night special. Angie anticipated everything we needed before we even had to ask. She checked in at all the right times, kept the mood light and joyful, and added those extra touches that turned a simple dinner into a memorable family celebration. It’s rare to find someone who goes above and beyond the way she did. Thank you, Angie, for making my grandfather’s 94th birthday so wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend asking for her if you visit.

Js is my husband’s favorite restaurant. I took him and our boys for his birthday lunch today. The food was great. Morgan was our waiter and she was fantastic. Remembered everything extra we asked for and all the orders (all with modifications) were correct, drinks were replenished when needed. It was a great lunch!

Google
J Alexander’s never disappoints, we’ll almost never. We all had a great dinner, two of us had salads and one had fish. We all thought the main dishes were perfect. We had a couple minor problems though, cocktails, took a good 20 minutes, clearly they had some sort of problem, but at least a cocktails tasted great! The main problem was a salmon dip appetizer we ordered. It had been sitting and had a completely overwhelming flavor of red onion, the gases had permeated the whole dish, and while we tried to eat it, it was just too much. We sent it back, and the server said the chef agreed, however, they did not give us a credit for the dish. We didn’t want to raise a stink (the appetizer was stinky enough), but it left a very ‘bad taste’ in my mind, yes, puns are intended. Im guessing our problems had to do with a new server, he was a nice fella, but obviously was new at this game. We were particularly happy with everything else so I thought I would give a review.

Google
We went for a birthday. We were kindly greeted and acknowledged. There was a birthday card on our table, which was a sweet thought. Our waiter, Chris Johnson was fun, communicative, informative and very attentive. He was relatively new but really knew about the food options and spirits. Mary was always nearby, overseeing the excellent job he did. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and they brought amazing carrot cake to celebrate the birthday! Overall, it was such a pleasant experience and we look forward to returning because of it!!!

Yelp
Usually when I see "American Food Restaurant" I don't know think much about it. Maybe some burgers, a steak or two... Nothing to write home about. I was wrong, this place was fantastic. Pretty good sushi selection. The steak cooked to perfection. Dessert was fantastic! Ordered the Nigiri, NY strip steak, and key lime pie. All fantastic!

Yelp
Somehow somewhere someone told me about the best martini and it was at J. Alexander's. After researching about their HH, stepped into their door and was greeted by the friendly and smiling hostess. I just gestured to the bar and we were all good. Found a high top, promptly greeted by the bartender and within minutes, got what I came for and wasn't disappointed. It was perfect cool down drink for hot and busy afternoon. They did not specifically have a HH menu at this location which was bummer but do offer reasonably priced items off the menu. Ended up getting pimento cheese dip $16. Served cold with warm chips. It was huge and went well with my drinks. Also got side salad for $10. The serving size was generous. Decided to split the old fashioned cheese burger. It was one of the better burger I had in comparison with other $$$ restaurants. The shoestring fries were delicious and kitchen staff was nice to split them and presented in a nice way. Overall, ambiance at the bar was cozy, staff very well trained and perfect level of noise to carry on the conversation. Definitely will be back more often.

Yelp
Came for happy hour and ended up ordering food to go. A colleague in a networking group suggested J Alexanders for happy hour meeting. They do not have a happy hour but were fairly busy on a Wednesday evening in the bar area. The bartenders were nice and the Kentucky old fashioned (tried Duke Bourbon) was just perfect. I had a second cocktail in the knickerbocker and it was just too sweet with the candied cherry. I should stick with what I like. I ordered the deviled eggs and there were 8 to an order which was more than I expected. The eggs and filling were creamy and delicious with sugar cured bacon and pickle relish. As my eyes are always bigger than my stomach I also ordered the fire grilled artichokes with remoulade. They were charred perfectly with enough oil and salt to make them decadent and easy to eat. I definitely needed my napkin with them. Also big enough for 2-4 people to share. To go I ordered an Alex's salad with grilled chicken. I didn't try it but my wife really liked it with the homemade ranch dressing (on the side of course!) I tried the French dip and it was very tasty. I did ask for grilled onions as an addition. They were added but in large slices so I'll skip that next time. The au jus was fine but a little underseasoned. I did try the French Fries for my side and I give them a thumbs up. Will have to come back for a meal in the dining room. Very impressed with J Alexanders.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and the place was BUSY. However the ambiance was perfect. The service was exceptional- we had Nick and he took excellent care of us by recommending his persona favorites and continuing to give us top quality care while we dined. The cocktails were great, the firecracker roll was insane- I had low expectations and now I haven't stopped thinking about it, it was perfect. Then we shared the Prime Rib. Cooked to perfection- we paired it with the carrots as they were the vegetable of the day ( I wouldn't order them again) and the Mac and cheese. I don't even like Mac and cheese but this was so good. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
A real pleasant alternative to the top tier priced steak houses around here. The feel wood interior makes dining cost (even still used a real candle). Drinks are generous and meat cooked over wood fire is I think unique style in the area. Wait Staff are Friendly without being intrusive. Be sure to make reservations because even on Tuesday they are near full by 6pm (we went at 5 to get ahead of the dinner crowd).

Yelp
Our first time eating at J. Alexander's was last evening for my birthday. Our server was Tyler and he made the experience over the top enjoyable. The food was so good as well. We ordered Hong Kong Shrimp, prime Rib and Ribeye. Cooked with perfection! We were treated to a large succulent piece of carrot cake that is over the top delicious with a candle for my birthday. Don't hesitate to treat yourself to a meal at this establishment and request Tyler as your server. You will be treated like royalty.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
If I am way down south, I make it a point to stop in here. Warm dark wood interior, high end Americana fare, friendly service, and a great wine (by the glass) list. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
google avatar

Bernadette M.

Yelp
Headed from the nail salon @paris nails in Greenwood Village met hubby after a long day and we split the sushi and the chicken platter - enough for the two of us. Got the tenders crispy and brown and the coleslaw was tasty with my cake potato. Service was great and so good to see Mary who always comes and speaks to us if she's not our server! This is a nice spot and hubby and I enjoyed our night out!
google avatar

S D.

Yelp
So good. We started with firecracker roll. She was worried about getting sushi from a restaurant that was just a sushi restaurant. However it was delicious. Then we split the prime rib that was amazing. They cook with wood there so there was a smoky fast on the bark but not smoky on the meat it was perfectly cooked. The martinis are good would define let come back.

Yelp
We went to J. Alexander's yesterday, felt like it was a total waste of money, ordered clam chowder which didn't even come close to what clam chowder should taste like, Overly Seasoned , like everything else we ordered, smashed potatoes, salmon & a crummy chicken sandwich, We will never return, always thought you could count on their food being very good, not anymore
google avatar

Mary Ann M.

Yelp
The food was great and they were very accommodating. My only issue was that it was so loud inside that my kids (tween/teen age) were upset and none of us could hear one another. The staff handled it really well though-I asked if we could move to the patio and they were happy to accommodate us. I just don't typically associate a nicer restaurant with being that loud.
google avatar

Yelp
From the moment you walk in you will wowed by the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. Our party of 5 was served by Barney. He helped us select from the menu and was very helpful in our making some great choices for our Dinner. We selected the Steak Rolls, Steak Burgers, Roasted Chicken Salad and Shrimp Louie Salad. We paired that with a CLINE ZIN wine for an epic meal. For desert we ordered the Carrot Cake and Chocolate Bundt Cake and both were large enough to share with our entire family group and very delicious. The menu is vey diverse from steak to sushi and everything in between. You owe it to yourself to try J. Alexander's, you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Got takeout. Steak burger was great, but some of the arugula stalks were tough, and the entire grilled onion circle was odd. I feel like usually it's separated into rings or slices. Side of mac and cheese was also awesome. Probably even better when fresh.
google avatar

Kaitlin C.

Yelp
Service was absolutely exceptional and very attentive. The key lime pie was the star of the show (coming from someone that doesn't even like KLP). We had to take an extra piece home! The veggie burger was not for me... the housemade patty was very sweet and felt over fried/greasy. I like more veggie forward burgers so this might be a good swap for someone that usually eats meat though! There is a large parking lot out front.

Yelp
We were so excited to try J. Alexander's after all the amazing reviews. We were highly disappointed. The service was extremely slow, and lots of things were missed. It took a while to get water, we asked about wine and our server didn't know anything about it and didn't find out (he was new). One of us got the salad before we got wine, and we weren't asked about salad dressing. The steak in the steak and fries entree was chewy. The French dips were good, but we did t receive any ketchup and weren't asked. We asked for horseradish and never received it. We ended going up and getting ketchup and horseradish ourselves. The manager did come over and apologize and offered our group a free dessert, which was nice. Finally, when we paid, we asked our server to put $55 on one card and the rest on another. He put $55 on one, but didn't remove it from the total and put the entire bill on the other card. Needless to say, it was a less than stellar experience.
google avatar

Gil S.

Yelp
Amazingly the prices here are actually ok for the quality of food you get and the overall experience and ambience. J. Alexander's is a chain, but it doesn't feel like it. I had Steak and Fries and my wife had ribs, we were both very happy with our dishes. We also had the grilled artichoke for started, it's really good. I also love their Key Lime Pie for dessert. The food took some time to get to the table, and thinking about it also the drinks. So they can improve on speed a little bit but overall we enjoyed the night and will return.
google avatar

Angelia G.

Yelp
I ordered to go and was pleasantly surprised how well everything was. The prime rib stayed juicy and rare, and the baked potato was delicious, I really like that they salt the skin. We ordered the mac n cheese but it just wasn't for us. Only downside was I ordered extra sour cream and au jus but didn't receive it. Other than that though everything was awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
First time at J. Alexander's we went for our Anniversary and the service and food were superb.
google avatar

Yelp
Recently we went back to this restaurant for lunch after church. I got one of their specials, the Rattlesnake Pasta. It used to be on the menu full time but they removed it but bring it back occasionally. My husband had a burger and fries. Cat was our server and she did a great job! Food was great too!
google avatar

Darren L.

Yelp
Elegant ambiance with great matre'd service. We were greeted with kindness and seated immediately with no reservations. The establishment was fairly full, and I expected to wait. The menu was quite appetizing and was hard to select from. Our server was superb and informative. She took our order from memory. I find that quite amazing. My wine of choice was The Prisoner 2022 to complement our meaty order. We stayed with Lemon and Parmigiano Broccoli as an appetizer. It was pretty good but not spectacular. We ordered a Filet Mignon and Ribeye dinner. Both were full of flavor accented with their sides. Both steaks came out medium rare as ordered and tender. 5/5 Once we were finished, our server asked if we wanted dessert, but we were too full. When the check arrived, it came with a surprise carrot cake goodie bag. 5/5 It was a great experience with spectacular service/food.

Yelp
Had dinner with a colleague here on a Tuesday evening. This place is intimate and classy. They have nice big booths and a nice bar section to sit at too. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. Our waiter was very nice, professional, and attentive. We started out with the calamari. The calamari was lightly breaded and seasoned. Very tasty. Not oily or salty. I forgot to take a picture of the calamari because I was so hungry. Lol We then ordered the crab cakes for dinner to share. The crab cakes are absolutely delicious. Yum! Gosh, we made room for a delicious key lime pie and shared that as well. The slice is very generous. We each had a decent 1/4 slice each. The key lime pie is light, creamy, perfectly tart and sweet. I loved how it offset our dinner. It was a wonderful dinner and experience. We did not make reservations. I love this place and look forward to coming back here again.

Yelp
Listen, J. Alexander's is THAT spot! If you're looking for good vibes and even better pours, slide through and post up at the bar. They do NOT play when it comes to their drinks--heavy-handed and just right. You know the kind of spot where you feel like they actually want you to enjoy your drink? Yeah, this is it. Let's talk about the food though! First off, the ahi tuna nachos--BABY! Hands down the best I've ever had in my life. They had me over here feeling like a food critic. My wife went with the chicken and mashed potatoes, and let me tell you, she was cheesin' like it was her birthday. Clean plate and all. But the real star? That carrot cake. Whew, Lord! It's not just dessert--it's an experience. Moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with a cream cheese frosting that tastes like somebody's granny whispered the recipe in their ear. You NEED it. The service was on point, too. Everyone was so cool, attentive, and made sure we were vibing the whole time. If you're in Englewood, CO and haven't pulled up yet, you're seriously missing out. J. Alexander's is elite. Period. Don't say that I didn't put you on.

Yelp
Traveling though Denver and made plans last minute to eat here after reading reviews. J Alexander's has a huge parking lot and we were seated right away in a comfortable booth. Server was helpful. Grilled artichoke was so good! That was the highlight. I ordered grilled trout and server allowed me to sub the sides that came with it. Husband ordered steak and fries and felt the steak was a little tough. Not as impressed as I was. It's a popular place and filled up quickly while we were there. So locals must love it. Our bill was less than $100 without drinks. Rating is 3.5

Yelp
Love this place ! Portions are huge ! Excellent cocktails! Desserts are all amazing! My favorite Mac & cheese around !

Scott H.

Yelp
I was excited to try this restaurant but left very disappointed. I ordered the trout almondine which came with a large helping of couscous and some steamed broccoli. No salt was used during the making of that dish. I never add salt to food but I had to add it multiple times to make this dish edible. The couscous was inedible. I had asked if they could bring me some more sauce to help but they instead offered to bring another side that I did not want to wait for. The wait staff was fine and the restaurant itself seemed nice but that dish was terrible.

Marla S.

Yelp
This was our 2nd time visiting this establishment, our 1st time was a wonderful experience! This time around not so much..We came to celebrate our 28th year anniversary and were looking forward to a nice dinner,we arrived this time and had no reservations, we completely understood the wait time, 30-35 minutes, well almost 45 minutes goes by and we see party after party seated, we had a couple who came in after us sit next to us, we waited about 35 minutes and they asked us how long we had been waiting, my husband answered them, and then they were called to be seated so my husband gets up to ask why everyone is being seated but not us and by now we have been waiting about 45 minutes, she said people are called in order, hard to believe but ok, we wait a bit longer and are finally called to a table. That really brought the mood down as we felt we were just looked over, we order drinks that were very good, an appetizer and our food, our waitress was nice but wouldn't really say much to us, we get our drinks and appetizer, and then our food, my plate was delicious as I ordered the chicken tenders, fries and coleslaw, my hubby ordered a ribeye steak that was tasty but had more fat on it then it should have for the price.. we absolutely enjoy the atmosphere there as it's a nice setting for a date night but this time around we did not feel welcome as we did our first time there.

Yelp
We stopped by J Alexander's for an early business lunch on a Sunday and had a great time! The location is conveniently located near I-25 near the Park Meadows Mall. Pro Tip: If you come on a Sunday and purchase an entree, your first Mimosa or Bloody Mary is free! We enjoyed the Artichoke Appetizer with aioli, while I'm not one to try artichokes they were very tender and the aioli had great flavor. It was a nice change of pace for my palette as I normally wouldn't try this. I enjoyed the caesar salad which was very fresh and added chicken. It wasn't anything special, but it was a good Caesar salad. My husband had the chicken finger plate and that was amazing! The chicken was cooked well and moist, paired with some yummy dipping sauces. Overall it was a good experience. It may be a bit on the expensive side, but if you are looking for a nice upscale restaurant for business meetings or family dinners this is a good spot to check out.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary there on a Sunday evening. Our waitress was a lady named Cheyenne. Sheridan great job and was out of site but attentive. I had a steak burger and my wife had the baby back ribs, Both were very good. I had ordered a baked potato but it came with fries. But Cheyenne had the replaced with the baked potato that I had ordered, almost immediately. The restaurant is very spacious, and even though the sounds of a restaurant were quite evident, they were not so loud that we couldn't easily communicate. We asked about dessert, and even though we're were quite satisfied, because the portions were quite generous, but decided to take a slice of pie home. My wife chose banana cream. Here's where it gets a little strange. The container enclosed a generous slice of pie, some whipped cream, some butterscotch/caramel sauce and a container of sliced bananas. The banana cream pie actually contained no bananas. We thought that was strange, but the pie was good anyway. I'd go back, because that steak burger was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, but so large it made for another wonderful meal today.
google avatar

Ray K.

Yelp
Relatively good dishes here but main course ribeye steak was overcooked and a bit tough. The taste was still good but not the right temperature. Need to be improved before I am willing to come back. Service was ok probably many new staff not ready to help.
google avatar

Jeffrey F.

Yelp
Had the Steak Frites special, 41$ Frites were too salty to eat steak was a fatty strip with little flavor, really bad.. Never again

Susan R.

Yelp
Cold food. Ribeye was thin and sliced up. French fries were cold. I had the West end with no flavor. Definitely will NEVER go back. Then they tried to take the plates before completion. No one asked us how our meal was.

Yelp
We decided to come here after first going to Rock Bottom since J. Alexander's was more crowded and we had never been before. 10/10 recommend! We ordered the Spinach cowboy queso as an appetizer.. bowl-licking good. I would have just ordered this as an entree and spread it over the chips with the pico. Highly recommend. I ordered the Bassiere chicken.. also very good. The chicken was perfectly crisp and juicy and just all the flavors just mixed well. Smashed potatoes also delicious. Another 10/10 meal. My daughter ordered the spicy tuna sushi, which at first I thought was odd to have at this restaurant, but it was plated well and bursting with flavor. Husband ordered the Ribeye which came cooked as ordered (medium rare) and was super juicy and had great taste. The also ordered the vegetable of the day (idr what it was) but I was a cold, fresh, vegetable salad that tasted great. Customer service was great as she wasn't hovering since we sat outside, but would bring a drink refill as soon as we finished one as if she was watching through the window. Overall, I highly recommend this place and will be coming again before I leave back home to Oklahoma. Definitely worth the trip, the price, and just go try it. My mouth is watering again just writing this review :)

Reva E.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite. It was pretty busy so did take about 20-25 mins to be seated. Waiter was brand new (1st week flying solo) but he was super friendly and any questions he didn't know, he made sure to find out. I ordered the ribeye and fries with a side of carrots. The flavor of the steak was really good but the meat was way too chewy and had a lot of gristle (not the best quality of meat). I wasn't a fan of their house Worcestershire Sauce but then again Worcestershire Sauce is generally not my thing. The fries were soooooo good... thin and crispy just the way I like 'em! The ambiance was nice too but overall couldn't get over the rubbery steak
google avatar

Gregory K.

Yelp
Had a great time. This was our first time eating at J. Alexander's and we had a wonderful experience Had family in town and brought them here. The food and service were top notch.

Jackee V.

Yelp
Service Food All excellent! Great atmosphere! Clean! Easy to make reservations Will devote back!
google avatar

Nina W.

Yelp
The ambiance is calm, comfortable, and inviting. The service is attentive and adequate. The food was good but a bit salty for my taste. I got the rattlesnake pasta (very salty) and Brussel Sprouts (if you like them lightly cooked and very crunchy, these are for you. Seemed to only have butter, salt, and pepper as seasoning). I was excited to try it as the ratings are so high. Maybe the steaks are better. I didn't try that.

Masha C.

Yelp
This place was better than I thought personally, but it's definitely a chain restaurant. We had steak spring rolls, sooo good. I had the crabcakes with fries, better than I expected. The view from the window was amazing. The mountains look like I painted a picture. Service was good. I forgot her name, but she was really sweet.
google avatar

Yelp
Love J Alexander's and this location was just as fabulous! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly as soon as you enter the door. Seated promptly and my fantastic waiter Kevin was on top of it! Brought my drink and took my order! I love the ribs, it comes with fries and coleslaw but I always change it out for the orzo and wild rice, so delicious!!! Everything was perfect!!
google avatar

Markus F.

Yelp
terrible experience The prime rib was not even close to being good. Bland Corporate cooking & SOP fast food . Pass
google avatar

Francois S.

Yelp
Simple the best restaurant in Colorado with a perfect balance between price-ambient-quality-service. Always a pleasure. Thanks Francois Saber

Yelp
Not quite the quality it used to be. Artichokes are great however. For all the vets out there, they do not honor military discounts.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Today's review is 3 stars. We ordered the grilled artichokes and they tasted amazing! You get the char grilled flavor which I love. The remoulade that came with it was delicious! The rotisserie chicken, pass. It was extremely dry... it was more dry than the chicken you can buy at a grocery store deli... The mashed potatoes that came with it were good!
google avatar

Carla S.

Yelp
I went with some coworkers for dinner. The carrot cake for dessert was so moist and delicious. It was my favorite part.
google avatar

Dale T.

Yelp
Never say never...decided to give J's another shot and it did not disappoint. We told the server about our last visit and asked after the prep on the chicken fingers. He had the manager come over and he confirmed, hand cut and marinated, hand breaded, and cooked just right. They were perfect and the shoestring fries are to die for as well. Great service as always and a manager that really cares about the overall product and service. Go visit and enjoy!
google avatar

Ben R.

Yelp
I am vegan and was reluctant going to a steakhouse. My go to option was the vegan burger and fries. I was so surprised that it was so amazing. Best Vegan burger around.
google avatar

Eddie M.

Yelp
Best Prime rib I've ever had! The sautéed mushrooms and the raw horseradish went well with it, if you like prime this is a must try.
google avatar

Savanna R.

Yelp
We loved it here! Has all the vibes of a very fancy steakhouse, but a bit cheaper! We loved our food and beverages. The wine was outstanding! We really enjoyed it. And for the price point? Perfect!
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
We chose to sit out on the patio this evening as it was quiet, and the weather was perfect. We ordered a glass of Pinot Noir, which was very good! Our server took our order for a split Caesar salad and shared 16 ounce prime rib cooked medium rare. Another team member brought the food out and the prime rib was accompanied by smashed red potatoes. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect! I wish we would have known our servers name, but it looks like they use a team concept here. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We chose not to have dessert. This is a very nice restaurant with great food and service. We will return!

Gino R.

Yelp
Poor service & management. Staff unfriendly, especially towards minority customers. Experiences were consistently negative & unwelcoming. Needs major improvement.
