J. Christopher's Review - Midtown - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Though all 17 area locations of Marietta-born J. Christopher’s have their distinctive wall colors and quirky art, the one thing that resonates across all the breakfast bistros is their love of children. Beyond being observant hosts ( Yes, thank you for bringing us a lidded cup without asking ), they’re also quite accommodating with their menu. Doesn’t matter if your kid wants an elaborate breakfast (blueberry pancakes and eggs) or a simple lunch (cheese quesadilla), this delightful chain of diners is always clutch for worn-out parents." - DeMarco Williams

You have to go to this wonderful place! From the moment you walk in the doors, the owner smiles at you and acts as though you are part of the family! Fabian (Fabe) is an incredible server! And the food is amazing! My husband and I both had an Omelette. I had one with goat cheese and spinach that was just delicious. They not only make you feel welcome but seemed truly excited to see you. I can't wait to go back! They don't make people like these incredible owners of this restaurant anymore!

Really loved the Eggs Benedict!! My son inhaled his patty melt....owner even stopped by to check on us! Eggs were perfect! I'll be back

Google
One of my favorite places to eat in Marietta. Food, service and atmosphere are all amazing. Like seriously it’s just always a great vibe and servers are super attentive and pricing is more than reasonable. My dad is sick and has to therefore avoid super carb heavy food and this place has a pretty great menu to accommodate for that and staff are normally very understanding to substitution requests. My only note is the hot chocolate, it has a sort of odd taste but that might just be me. Anyways definitely a place worth checking out.

Google
Great coffee! Sweet waitress. Really yummy billy goat omelette and pancake. Relaxing morning atmosphere

Google
Excellent breakfast sit down restaurant with 2 locations near Marietta and more outside of that city. I usually get the traditional breakfast with triple bacon and eggs and it's always predictably consistent, it's not Michelin star quality but it's exactly what you expect every time.

Great manager who came to our table to meet us. Great waitress Adrian! Great food choices in Eggs Benedict and Spinach Bacon skillet!

I loved it! The server I had did a great job in anticipating my needs, we also shared a few laughs since we were of the same type of energy. I customized the presentation of the meal to have my food served the way it is in the picture and they accommodated my request with grace. It was the perfect plate. The restaurant was packed with people but the wait was still well under what would be expected. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend this place to any and everyone who is interested in having a phenomenal meal with extraordinary service!

Google
Great Service from David! We had such a great experience with our server David - I would definitely recommend him! He was very friendly and attentive, and made us some great lattes. I ordered the traditional breakfast with a blueberry crunchcake, and it was delicious! My daughter got the eggs benedict and said it was very good as well. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
Hannah was exceptional! We adore her! And we always love the atmosphere and food! Thanks, Hannah! You're the best!

Yelp
Delicious food. Love the blueberry crunch , skillets and omelets, fulfilling. Comfortable bright decor. Very nice service. See you soon.

Yelp
Food was average and the service is hit and miss but the music is absolutely inappropriate. Playing wrap with swearing and sexual graphic words for the clientele of mostly retiree's is completely out of order. I asked for it to be changed twice and a manager told me corporate decide the music

Yelp
J. Christopher's is open for breakfast and lunch. The menu has both types of food. I had the Billy Goat Omelet. An omelet filled with spinach, mushrooms, and goat cheese. It is served with home fries and an English muffin. I enjoyed my food very much. The indoor seating has booths, tables, and a bar. The noise level was nice to be able to have a conversation. It was clean and organized. The service was pretty good overall. There is also plenty of parking since the parking lot is shared by several businesses. The next time you are looking for a nice place to have breakfast and a good conversation with friends or that special someone, then please consider J. Christopher's for that place!

Yelp
I'm giving 3 stars for my last experience here. Was really disappointed with the cinnamon roll. They were really stingy with the icing

Yelp
Found this place through Yelp after looking for a nice Monday morning breakfast. After arriving, We were set down very quickly by a nice hostess. The food was fresh and cooked to order. The biscuits were amazingly soft. Of course, we selected this location because they served Turkey options... Our waitress was very nice and answered all questions that we had. The restaurant was nice and casual with a coffee bar style on the left side of the entrance.

Yelp
Good brunch - French toast & special latte / wait staff was friendly & prompt . Great location

Yelp
Breakfast Time! We took a mini road trip to Tennessee and on the way we stopped for breakfast st J. Christopher's in Marietta. Had very great reviews so we were excited to try it. I got Maple toast, cheese grits and turkey sausage. Jordan got the Billy Goat-a spinach, mushroom and goat cheese omelette with grits. The Maple toast (aka French toast) was nothing extraordinary but what I did like about it was the fact that they used Challah bread. That thick bread makes for such a great, thick, fluffy French toast that makes it enjoyable to eat. The cheese grits were okay, a little to creamy for my liking- I tend to like them thick- but they got the job done. I was a big fan of the turkey sausage however. I don't eat mushrooms so I didn't try Jordan's omelette but one comment that he did make is that he wishes that there would have been more cheese. There was just one piece of goat cheese placed on top of the omelette and he thought that it would've been more evenly spread out. Overall, very good and we enjoyed it! Because we did take it out, I know that it wasn't the same as if our food was brought out to the table. I would say 8.5/10!

Yelp
We had the lemon ricotta pancakes which were wonderful however they would have been a lot amazing with the blueberry compote that they use to offer.

Yelp
Great breakfast with a crowd. Great attentive service. Wide variety of options on the menu for breakfast including a yummy Mexican Benedict that came with a side of black beans. Our hit shrimp and grits, pancakes, a couple of versions of French toast and the usual loaded breakfast. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the Atlanta area.

Yelp
The food was good. I got banana bread waffle and it was delicious. The price was reasonable.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out while my family was visiting. Went on a Sunday morning and there was no wait. The food was delicious! Our server was great. Definitely one to put on the list of places to go for breakfast.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Food is good and typical fare. We went early and there was no wait. Lots of parking.

Yelp
Are you looking for a good solid breakfast place? Well, look no further! Saturday morning during peak breakfast time - seated immediately. We had a 2 year old with us. The parents ordered her food when we sat down - and BOOM the food was there in a moment. The coffee- IS PIPING HOT!!! Nothing better than needing your coffee to cool down! Luke warm coffee - YUCK! Nice that a restaurant has hot coffee. Now for the food. Generous portions and delightful. I had one of their eggs Benedict over tomatoes. YUM! Definitely will return.

Yelp
came here for sunday brunch after a run with my friends in marietta! there was around a 15 minute wait, and service otherwise was relatively fast. i got the pantry feast which comes with the blueberry crunch, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. + pretty affordable prices for brunch! + the blueberry crunch pancake was pretty big. everything else was also decent portion size - everything tasted good. the pancake i wish had more granola because there seemed to be just some dried oats sprinkled on top. i also thought the pancake was kind of dry and didn't have much blueberry flavor otherwise, overall a very satisfying meal. i appreciate how they have lower carb options, but decided to indulge and get the pantry feast haha! i would come back again if i was in the area.

Yelp
I ordered to go and the time I got home J Christophers was closed. Since the food took so long I spoke to a manager named Jason and he told me to come back the next day because they sent me home with the entire wrong order. I called this morning On my way to J Christophers. (which took 45 minutes to get there from Alpharetta) to get the pancake and French toast that was never received yesterday. Again, Jason said to come in, and he would fix our issue. After going back-and-forth with him on the phone for 5 minutes or so, he ended up hanging up in my face... I've worked in the restaurant business my entire life and that's not how you treat valued customers. Honestly, if corporate knew how he was treating customers with a bad attitude, accusing me for the issue that they messed up, being disrespectful and rude. It's sad. I worked with J Christophers for almost 10 years at the public house in Roswell, and I know their policies that's not how you treat customers when I received somebody else's meal.

Yelp
I stopped on in here on a Friday morning and it was busy. I was sat down and my server quickly updated us on the specials. I ordered a coffee with the seasonal pumpkin pancakes. When I looked around, I could tell that the service and atmosphere were amazing. People were quickly seated all over and some great tunes were playing too. Overall great breakfast place and better than First Watch.

Yelp
I love breakfast food so any place that serves breakfast during the lunch hour is already seen as favorable in my eyes! I do wish they stayed open until dinner hours but hey I'll take what I can get. Food: I had the cajun scramble. Cheese grits, a biscuit, and an eggs/andouille sausage scramble combo. It was very straight forward, no bells & whistles. I left with a stomach well fed. Service: my waitress was timely Price: cheap! I think I spent $13 Parking: its located in a strip mall so you'll find a spot somewhere in the lot Overall, of you want a quick, filling breakfast meal I would suggest coming here. This is not the knock-your-socks-off-with-flavor spot, but more so the I'm-hungry-and-cheap-and-want-comfort-food spot!
google avatar

Sharon C.

Yelp
The inside is decent. Service was very good. The food.....not so much. I got the eggs Benedict with old hard potatoes and old English muffin. The eggs were actually on point. So someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing. Seems as if the owner is cheap with ingredients and finances, that perhaps the chef has to use old food. Idk, just guessing here. Will not be back.

Yelp
This is not what I remember of any J Christopher's I've patronized in the past. This is my first visit to Powers Ferry Road Location. Upon entry I thought I was entering a cafeteria style restaurant. Signs were placed to show they were practicing social distancing since this is the era of CVD19. Not many were inside. Which was perfect for my comfort level. Menu had breakfast and lunch options. I ordered a chicken fajita omelette with potatoes. Chicken was dry, not much flavor to the omelette despite the ingredients. Potatoes were over cooked and way too salty. Could barely chew. The young lady that was our waitress was very nice and patient. I probably won't return to this location as it was not what I expected.

Yelp
This spot has a great breakfast. So happy my family and I found this restaurant. Our food was well seasoned and the portion size is great for the price. Atmosphere : the service was great and Jade our waitress was awesome. She had all our orders correct the first and was very hospitable. The Art Deco theme is vibrant with orange and paint on the walls and cool wall art. Social distancing is enforced and tables are 6ft apart. Location : inside of a plaza in between liberty pizza and Jones Dancesport ballroom Great vibes! Good service! Nice staff!
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Terrible service, Adrienne was supposed to be our server but never came to the table and had a terrible attitude! Shame because we love the other locations!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic home fries! And if you get scrambled egg whites, they are very fluffy and have an almost whipped texture. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Fun atmosphere- good place to hang with friends. Super casual, laid back vibe. My favorites: blueberry crunch cakes, Belgian waffle, turkey sausage, and they have great multi grain toast. Ask for Newton, he rocks! They also have a room you can reserve for parties or meetings!

Yelp
This was a rare choice by the guys I run with to do a post workout breakfast here. We are typically creatures of habit with hitting up the same breakfast spot after runs, so I was pleased when this was mentioned as the destination so I could get another review in. Plus, my honey used to live at J. Christopher's so I knew it was going to be a good choice. It's located off Powers Ferry Rd, not far at all from Cochran Shoals. I passed it, and didn't realize it was in a shopping center. It blended in well as part of the strip mall. It was an insanely cold morning, and thankfully not many people were there yet. This place is a great breakfast/brunch spot, and reminds me of a nicer IHOP with better ingredients. We ordered a pot of coffee for the table, and I guzzled down 3 cups. That's always a good sign if I can guzzle the coffee. All the creamers and sugar were on the table. They had Italian creme! Perfect! For my meal, I had a western style omelette w/ grits and an English muffin. They had a large array of jellies on the table for my muffin, plus chalula and Tabasco hot sauce. Grits were decent. My omelette was very enjoyable but I kept eyeing my buddies cinnamon swirl pancakes. Certainly going to be my next meal when/if we come back. Our service was outstanding. He did a great job and split up the checks very fast. Overall, a very good experience. Would come back after a run!

Yelp
This is my first time visiting J Christopher's and it won't be the last. We were seated immediately upon our arrival. Our server was very pleasant and made sure we were taken care of. I ordered the Turkey and Avocado Skillet meal and my other half ordered the San Bernardino omelette We loved it. Will definitely visit again. I'm so glad I found another place for breakfast.

Yelp
I needed a quick n Cost efficient bfast to go as I was Not feeling good & just wanted to have bfast n Bed. Called the number listed several times and it was busy so it must b the wrong number. That was annoying but i went and ordered in person & it came fast. The manager was super nice checking on everyone at the bar and my food came out pretty quick. Grits eggs n sausage link n biscuit were good for the 11.99 price Its close to my house and il b back when i need something quick n decent

Yelp
Very clean and friendly! Staff and service are amazing! No wait time and food does come fast and hot! I did try the limited time only gingerbread pancake at Christmas time and it was sooooooo good! You could taste the cinnamon and the cream cheese icing was also a hit! The cheese grits were also perfect! I loved this place so much I went back twice during my week visit! Highly recommend and will definitely be back! The prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Great cup of coffee and the service was quick and friendly. If you're looking for a no frills diner vibe with some pancakes, biscuits, or a patty melt etc... this is a good choice.

Clarice L.

Yelp
Normal breakfast food. Cooked well. Nice servers. Clean place. Nothing special. I prefer Cracker Barrel over this. It's the same price.

Angel J.

Yelp
My son and I didn't enjoy the food. We heard so much about this place, but it didn't live up to the expectations. The potatoes were hard and not seasoned well; the sausage biscuit with gravy was bland, but the biscuit was good. I ate as much as I could, because I didn't want to feel I had really wasted my money. Maybe I'll try a different location, before I rule it out.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Half the booths were empty and was told there was a 15 minute wait. I told her I was going next door and would be back. I walked next door to a shop and came back 10 minutes later. Returned to check on the status of my table. The hostess told me since they couldn't find me, then I was bumped to the bottom of the list. Just lost a long time customer.

Yelp
Location and parking : this cafe is located inside a plaza so there is plenty of parking . it is really easy to find as well . Food : I ordered the eggs Christopher , which is their version of the eggs Benedict . The poached eggs were perfection , the hollandaise sauce had the perfect splice blend mixed in it, all of which was served with delicious potatoes . Price : all brunch items are priced between 8-12$, which makes it really affordable. Coffee is 2-3$ and you get a whole pot . Service : our brunch came out in no time ! We were a party of three , the coffee pot was being refilled efficiently as well . Overall , really impressed with this brunch spot . Would definitely come back with friends and family . You can also call ahead to make a reservation , they do tend to get busy .

Yelp
I came here today with brunch with my boyfriend. I was craving something sweet and yummy, so I got the French Toast (it's called something else but you catch the drift). The pieces were Hugeeee, MASSIVE! Like the entire plate. It was made of challah bread, and I struggled to finish my last pieces because it was so large. I ordered a side of bacon on the side. That was some of the best bacon I've had in a restaurant. My bf had the San Bernadino omelette. It had chicken, avocado and some other yummies like pico and cheddar/jack cheeses. It was good, not delicious but definitely good. The service was friendly, and I never had to ask for more water or tea! He was on it. This place is about 4 mins from my apartment so I will definitely come back before I leave for the summer.

Yelp
So, lemme start by saying only reason this isn't a one star is that we came in hungry and left full, but that's the only positive. Food was very meh, nothing stood out to be praised, smoothies are 6.99 and don't deserve to be called a smoothie. Our Server Briana M. was nice but seemed to be based in another section and we were prolly just a pick up table so service was very slow. We watched two tables seat after us, order, eat, and start to pay out as our food finally reached us so dunno what happened there. Overall we should've gone to the Jimmy Johns next door as the experience would have been sooooo much better, half the price, and less time wasted wondering why we bothered going out to eat. TL:DR Won't be coming back.

Yelp
I'm so glad they put this here ! Early healthy morning breakfast Veggie omelette And blueberries crunch pancakes right after workouts was a great choice And a biscuit to go to work w
google avatar

Yelp
First time here.. very similar to competitor Flying Biscuit. Enjoyed the great customer service. I couldn't decide between the maple toast or the blueberry crunch pancake, so I got one of both. Sooooo delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
One of my Son's said this was a must for breakfast in Marietta Ga and has been trying to get me to try it for two years. Finally had the chance to visit the Marietta location this morning (it's a local chain) The hit for breakfast was the Cold Steel Oatmeal my wife had along with the side of fruit. I had one of the combination of bicuirt and sausage gravy along with cheese scrambled eggs and home fries. Biscuits were hard with no texture and obviously not fresh, eggs were OK but even so, runny and the home fries,... the jury is still out but with a lot of reservation. Atmosphere is OK but at 7:00 am, who cares. Only thing about me that is awake at this time is the tastebuds. Generally very clean but they do need to do more frequent checks of the men's room. Otherwise it's a good stop but little to separate it from a Bob Evan's except better service and less crowded
google avatar

LaShonda H.

Yelp
Pretty good place! It's not the best of the best but it certainly got the job done. I wanted a quick breakfast before church so I'm glad I was able to sit at the bar and get quick service. I had scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and breakfast potatoes. The turkey sausage was grilled and it was nice and moist! It wasn't rubbery like most places. The eggs were great and so were the potatoes. The coffee was the real rockstar! I'll be back for sure. Glad I discovered this place.

Kelsey F.

Yelp
Ok so I did not actually eat because I was so unimpressed with the menu. I got my orange juice and pondered over the menu for a few minutes and quickly figured out this wasn't for me. I personally like to indulge in sides for breakfast such as grits, hash browns, sausage, and bacon. But there wasn't even a section with the sides listed on this menu. I also did not like that the items listed in the griddle and healthy starts didn't even come with a side. So I'm expected to pay 8.29 for pancakes and it doesn't even come with one side?? Seems a little like a rip off to me. And the orange juice was gross! It tasted stale or something. I mean they had a lot of egg dishes so if you're into eggs maybe this is for you.
google avatar

Paqueshia B.

Yelp
Great place for fresh breakfast. We sat down and our waiter took our order within five minutes. Our food was delivered to our table five minutes later. The food was delicious. The servers are friendly and professional.

Kirsten M.

Yelp
Always good food. My hubby got eggs Benedict, and they cooked the eggs perfectly. My hubby has high standards with eggs and how they are cooked. Well done J.C.
google avatar

Khalilah A.

Yelp
Visited with my family we all had different orders the pancakes were pretty good but my omelette was even better the service from the waitress was very attentive and she made sure to continue to come back to check on us throughout the morning was fairly busy so I really did appreciate that. The girls really enjoyed their meal and I think it's a nice establishment

Bob P.

Yelp
Food is good. There is a long wait while tables are open. Music is loud and very crappy.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Everything is delicious except for their potatoes. Is it really that hard to cut and cook fresh potatoes?? The frozen ones they use are SO dry.
google avatar

Tina O.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Blueberry crunch pancakes!!! The staff was awsome and very helpful will definitely return....
google avatar

Reeya P.

Yelp
It was actually Denny's vibes. Food wasn't the worst, I would go back if I had absolutely no choice of a breakfast place. Hostess was rude but the service after wasn't so bad. Food came out fast.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
I've went every Sunday for the last month. The staff is great, and works hard to make sure customers are taken care of. Meg is excellent. The manager seems to really care about the customers. The food is always good.

Yelp
All Are Welcome! This location is clean, has a FANTASTIC menu and welcoming guests with a warm smile. When you visit ask to be seated Megan C ... she is hard worker with a great attitude! Looking forward to visiting again!!
