Google
Awesome deli and grocery. I found this spot while walking down the wharf and stopped in. It was 12:30 and they had 5 or so employees manning the sandwich counter. I was helped my a younger Italian guy and I told him this was my first visit. I asked him what the best sandwiches are. Without skipping a beat he said the 21 and the 30. I hadn’t even gotten that far so I checked them out and they sounded great. I got both of them and they were AMAZING. Totally happy and will visit again soon.

Google
This place catered a party in my building. I hadn't heard of them before. They will be seeing a lot of me however. The pasta was cooked just so.... Definitely not over cooked. The sandwiches were very tasty, nice protein, to vegetable, to cheese, to bread ratio...what?! Some people do NOT know how to balance out and build a good sandwich. I found the food fresh and good!

I was visiting Boston for a volleyball tournament and stayed next door for a few days at the Hyatt. I got breakfast, lunch and dinner here for 3 days straight. Everything we had was great-breakfast sandwiches, coffee, grinders, hot bar. All amazing. Would definitely recommend! I’ll be back next time we’re in town!

Google
Was the first place we ate during out first trip to Boston, and was just a good, solid sandwich to have after traveling all day. There was not one weakness in that sandwich. The onion rings were pipping hot, crispy, and BIG. If we ever make it back to this area we will definitely stop by.

Google
Came in here during my work break. I was craving a sub all day. I ordered it toasted with turkey, ham, cheese, bacon, onion, pickles, tomato, lettuce, hots, salt, pepper, vinegar. It was exactly what I wanted and needed. Great quick service too. Thank you!

Was recently in Boston to compete in a ballroom competition. The hours that the competition is on and the need for getting hair and makeup done before the event always makes eating well a difficult task. J Pace and Sons was so close and everything was so delicious. I took back a granola parfait and a huge muffin for breakfast the next day and came back to have a breakfast sandwich which I ate outside while enjoying the seaport. I bought sandwiches to take back for lunch and they made it custom to my liking. Everything was excellent and the staff was so very kind and went out of their way to make this a special experience. I will definitely remember this place next time I am back in this area. KUDOS to you for great food great prices and wonderful people. A+

Michael S.

Google
The best place to do groceries, buy liquor, and enjoy delicious food. And the amazing part was finding unique Boston Merchandise (especially postcards) The liquor is so affordable, and u have plenty choices (even dunkin drink which contains alcohol awesome). There are also toilets and friendly cashiers.

Google
We were looking for food in the area and stopped by this deli. It’s a good bang for your buck but the food was alright, not the best sandwiches I’ve had. Also their market is overpriced. $8.50 for a skinny cereal box and $5.50 for plastic bowls.

Yelp
I give 5 stars to J Pace & Son for food, service and affordable prices! I had pancakes and bacon with coffee for breakfast, my wife had a wonderful bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were surprisingly good; fluffy and flavorful. The bacon was more than enough. The coffee was hot, hot, hot! You have a choice of House Blend and Dark Roast. I chose the House Blend and it disappeared as fast as my pancakes and bacon. Before I flew back home I returned and ordered a grilled pastrami sandwich with grilled onions, mustard and provolone cheese. I enjoyed half of it on the plane and my wife loved her half. Definitely love the busyness and amount of things to eat and drink here at quite possibly the most reasonable prices in the Seaport area.

Yelp
I had a sausage, egg and cheese bagel breakfast sandwich to go. The sandwich was very hefty and a great portion. Flavor was good as well. I did have ketchup on the side and wish they gave a little bit more packets. All in all, a great breakfast sandwich option!

Yelp
Affordable grub next to a great venue. I just went to a concert at Leader Bank Pavilion and didn't want to break the bank. We did not see this show up on Yelp, but it caught our eye as it was right across from the venue. They had a great variety of food and drinks for a local market and a deli. We grabbed the 21 and 32 on the specialty sandwiches list, and they were pretty good! Our favorite was the J.Pace Italian. While it might sound like a lot, the flavors complemented each other well, and the long hots were sooo good. Putting half a charcuterie board in a cold sub is the way to go. They have a lot of seating and a nice view near the window. If you have a hotel nearby, this would be the place to get alcohol too. They have a good selection for a little place and are way cheaper if you end up going to the concert venue. We compared prices, and it was around $20 cheaper to get a tall Downeast Cider here! Be wary of time, as if you're like us, your concert is later than closing time. The staff were polite, and you can take your sub to the park nearby. It is a beautiful area to eat outside and share some subs. If we're not dressed up, this will be our stop in the area!

Yelp
We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches. One a chicken parm, the other cut up chicken with veggies. For both chicken sandwiches, the chicken was dry and tough. I suspect they were day old and not fresh. Disappointing. A number of years ago, I frequented their downtown location and it was great. Too bad it was so disappointing this time.

JC F.

Yelp
Service: friendly and helpful. We ate around 10am and they were able to make their sandwiches for breakfast. We asked for their cold sandwiches to be toasted. They said no problem, we want to make you happy! Food: we ordered the badabing (two chicken cutlets, eggplant, roasted red peppers, jalapeño cheese, lettuce and tomato with 1000k dressing. This sandwich was huge! $14 and it made two meals. Hubby had the chicken Italian. Two chicken cutlets, prosciutto, roasted red peppers. Delicious! The freshly made brownies and cookies looked divine, but we were stuffed. Cleanliness: this is an Italian deli and store. There is plenty of seating and it is very clean.

Yelp
Wow, just wow. J Pace is a must try sandwich spot in Seaport. This is hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Delicious, fresh, and definitely getting your money worth. The guy behind the deli was super friendly and was super helpful. The store also has everything you could need from snacks to beer/wine to hot food too. If you're in the area definitely stop by!

Yelp
Picked up a couple sandos to take with me on my flight home. The YOLO for my husband and the Italian with prosciutto. I ate half of mine right away and it was the perfect size for a lunch before hopping on a six hour flight. Both traveled really well and were delicious when we ate them more than 7 hours later. I ordered online and they were ready earlier than the time I expected so when I arrived early, I was pleasantly surprised to not have to wait! Definitely will return when we come back to Boston.

Yelp
Stayed a couple days before a recent cruise. I'm from New England so I wanted a good bomb cheese steak. We ate here and shared a sub and onion rings. It was very good. bread was soft, onion rings nice and crunchy. Good portion size. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. Of course I had to have a whoopee pie! OMG, so good! We ate it over a couple days it was so big. They have a busy sub shop!
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
#Hastag on everything bagel! bacon, eggs over hard (i prefer over easy), a full thick crispy hashbrown and cheese! Must say one of my mentors put me onto this and she was right 1000% -- bomb breakfast. The luncheon options look great too! There is a bathroom on site around the corner, and seating area for you to breakfast or lunch! Been our go to spot as of late at work! If you get the patriot it's like a hashtag, but omelette (3) eggs, hashbrown, bacon (or your choice of protein) with a buttered muffin and free OJ.

Yelp
Sammies aka sandwhiches, deli sandwich, sub, deli meat cold cut.....whatever you want to call your lunch meat sandwich. drinks and more! This place will serve you up and is a corner grocery store. Easy walk from the convention center and this place will NOT disappoint. This appears to be a local spot and serves up the good good from open to close. They have two counters, one can get cold or hot sandwiches, the menu has a variety of great combo and fav they other side you get hot entrees...pizza, shells you name it. We tried the J Pace with prosciutto on sesame bun. This thing was big enough to share but can easily be devoured by one person. There is a deli sauce on this sandwich that is fire "not meaning hot or spicy meaning good" that makes the sandwich complete. I didn't get a picture of the updated menu...the avg price is about $12.

Yelp
I seriously thought I had already written a review about this place after my first experience about a year ago! And although the owner can come across a little gruff, I think it's just the Bostonian in him LOL. The first time I visited J Pace & Son I ordered French toast, which came with more bacon than I could finish. The French toast was so delicious and it stayed hot on my walk back to my hotel. On my second visit, I arrived about 10 minutes after breakfast () which made me super sad, but there was a lot of food to choose from! They have pizzas, steak sandwiches, chicken tenders, and a lot of cold sandwiches. I ended up going with the 601 Congress, which seems to be well reviewed by everyone. This sandwich consisted of fried chicken cutlets, buffalo sauce, red onions, and lettuce. They also threw some sort of cheese on there, but I didn't really check. Let me tell you that this sandwich was amazing! I also read that they make the bread in-house, and you can definitely tell (it stayed soft for hours even though I ate 1/2 right when I got it and another half about six hours later). The price came up to about $13 for just a sandwich alone, and I'll definitely be back to try others.

Yelp
Great find! Wonderful choices, fresh foods and a great variety of unique choices in the store. You can go back multiple times and never duplicate your choices. But you'll find your favorites.

Lamar W.

Yelp
For the month of July it has been extremely hot in the store and I feel bad for the employees
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely the best Italian combo around. I've had sandwiches from all over the east coast.. this place rules. There every year for the Volleyball tournament at the Convention Center. Well worth it for breakfast sandwiches or lunch. Must try!!!

Yelp
I'm not from Boston. The Italian sandwiches I know are from delis in NYC, Long Island, NJ, and the Philly suburbs (where folks from the former are from). I also don't really eat Italian sandwiches often anymore, but used to seek them frequently when younger. Needless to say, this is my cheat meal and my standards for this sort of food are high. My expectations were low, but this place is a 5/5. Rolls aren't huge, but they pack their sandwiches with ingredients, all of which are fresh. I got the "Green Monstah" (not a Sox fan even in the slightest) and was thrilled. This rivaled what I can get at home. And it's $9-14 a sandwich, which is worth it. So glad I came here. You should not come here if you're looking for an experience. It's a sandwich shop. But they do a great job. There is plenty of seating in case you don't feel like dealing with the Seaport winter breeze. Will be back here the next time I visit Boston.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick lunch and opted for the tuna salad and fresh fruit cup. Both were very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices were good for being in the city. Would recommend for a lunch or a quick grocery store trip.

Yelp
Gunna start off by saying if you haven't been here, you're screwing up. Great service, great staff, plenty of offerings for anyone's taste, nice seating area, and everything is always fresh. I've had the pleasure of delivering to their Saugus location with my previous employer, so I am familiar with what they offer but I have never personally eaten here. Until today. I'm now working around the corner from the Seaport location, in South Boston, and I was late for work today and stopped in here for breakfast. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a Jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was fantastic. So good that I ate every other meal here for the day. For lunch I got the Caprese sub, again, delicious, and fresh, not much to screw up on a caprese sandwich, with salt and pepper. Epic. Stopped in before heading home and picked up some cheese ravioli with vodka sauce and a few drinks from the wide variety they offer. I love that they sell Dr. Browns sodas. This is easily going to be my go to spot, I think you should check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great place. I wanted a sandwich to take on the ferry to Provincetown period so glad I found this place. One of my favorite sandwiches was the roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce. So good. Very nice people, too.
google avatar

Rich A.

Yelp
Located in the Seaport District, J Pace and Son provides customers with a deli offering huge and freshly-made grinders (known as hero sandwiches or subs for those of you outside Red Sox Nation) and a small, but well-curated grocery store offering a variety of ready-to-eat and pre-packaged food and beverages and a handful of those things you forgot to bring to your friends' or coworkers' birthday party like salty snacks and greeting cards. While the prices may be higher than your typical suburban sandwich chains - with most sandwiches ranging from $9 to $12 - the quality and the portion sizes far exceed those establishments. I opted for the Seaport sandwich ($10), comprised of two enormous filets of freshly breaded and fried haddock, tartar sauce, cole slaw, cucumber, and leafy romaine lettuce. Yum. Will definitely be back next time I am in the area. Pro Tip: On-street parking is available, but may be difficult to find, so pahk you cahr at Havahd Yahd and take the T - Silver Line to J Pace.
google avatar

Jayjay S.

Yelp
sandwich was goo, the service was very quick and this place has it all. The only thing I would say being from NY a Turkey sandwich for 12 bucks is a drag. But different city different price I guess.
google avatar

Trish L.

Yelp
Quick service and delicious sandwiches in a no-frills environment. Good selection of deli sandwiches and sides.

Jump M.

Yelp
A classic deli. I wanted something authentic to the area and this was definitely one of those. I'll absolutely be stopping in next time I'm in the area

Yelp
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Made to order breakfast sandwich is great! I was pleasantly surprised at how good their dark roast black coffee tasted.-I always avoid the over priced breakfast at my hotel and come here. Pastries look yummy although I haven't tried any. Lunch hot bar items are outstanding. Typically rice, chicken, vegetables and a few Italian dishes available daily. I've also had hot deli sandwiches here to go that were excellent. Big selection of craft beer and wine. Single craft beers to go! Everything is very reasonably priced. No better hot food deals in the Seaport district than this place.

Yelp
Looking for some food prior to a concert at the Leader Bank Pavilion, we came across this little Gem. J. Pace & Son. The food was good...I know it's an Italian Deli, but hot and cold sandwiches and salads made fresh and being that it is near a concert venue... inexpensive! I had an Eggplant Parm sandich so italian I was waiting for Luigi to come out of the backroom. It was prepared by the owner and AMAZING. Girlfrien was on a Gluten-free diet and they took good care of her. Ham and Cheese on a gluten free wrap made to order just the way she wanted it. there were tables both inside and outside for eating on premisis (outside was great for eating and people watching). Would highly reccommend! J. Pace & Son One Park Lane South Boston, MA. 02210

Yelp
J Pace & Sons has a long history in the Boston area they specialize in Italian prepared meals to go things like soup salad entrées desserts they also have coffee espresso all kinds of authentic Italian sandwiches calzones etc. etc. this particular location also serves beer and wine and cold beverages. It's actually pretty nice because they have some outdoor tables also which looks over Boston Harbor directly across the street from Legal Harborside. I Give J Pace & Sons a Solid 4 Stars

Brian V.

Yelp
For fathers day we took my father to J Pace Italian sandwich shop in Boston. Living in northern NH it was a bit of a trip, but in the past, it was my Dads favorite. We checked the website before we left and found that they close at 3:00 on Sundays. Upon arrival at 2:00 we found the store completely locked up. No sign on the door, nothing. Don't get me wrong we Love the shop, but come on, if you're going to have a website use it. And if something comes up, and you have to close, just put a sign on the door.
google avatar

Bob T.

Yelp
Solid breakfast and lunch place near the wharf. Very reasonably priced and a fun crowd providing great service. Bagel with lox and cream cheese less than 9 bucks. Great coffee too.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Hashtag is very good. Steak and cheese is very good. Almost everything is very good... besides the buffalo chicken. It's frozen chicken fingers that aren't good at all.
google avatar

Jim D.

Yelp
Great sandwiches awesome cookies they do have a lot of stuff and it's very convenient on this side of the world trade center because we have no grocery store close to us. The only unfortunate thing is that their prices are probably 30% higher than what you pay at a normal grocery store but it's convenience and it is what it is.
google avatar

Betty C.

Yelp
We were so hungry and wanted something fast, we order a Hamburger, it was tasteless and cold. French Fríes were delicious!!
google avatar

Gregory B.

Yelp
Had a great Italian sub from J Pace & Son. I had a late flight back to DC and decided to chill on the Waterfront to kill some time. I camped out here for several hours with free Wifi, a plug to charge my phone, and beautiful sights of the water. What else could a man ask for?

David O.

Yelp
Legit good stuff. Sandwiches are packed. Was surprised the chicken cutlets in my sandwich were cold, but that didn't bother me. Lots of options for sandwiches. Also picked up some cookies and muffins. Everything was great, and VERY reasonably priced for being in Boston!!!
google avatar

Jessi F.

Yelp
I knew this place had to have big portions with so many construction workers there at lunch hour. And it did. I got a heaping Italian sandwich for $8. It was delicious - and enough food for lunch and dinner. I was impressed with their huge assortment of sandwiches, breakfast items, snacks etc. Pro-tip: order ahead on the website if you want to skip the line.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
Small little grocer in the seaport area. Opens early, and closes around 7 I believe, the hours posted in Yelp are incorrect. One of the only non-hotel options in this area that has breakfast, but it is deli style, so don't plan on coming in and receiving table service. I took my breakfast across the river and enjoyed it on the water front. This place is also a grocer, and the food looked great.
google avatar

Meredith A.

Yelp
This store is like having a bit of the North End in the Waterfront! They have a nice selection of high quality grocery items, plus prepared food and outdoor seating where you can enjoy it. The people are also very nice.

Rachel B.

Yelp
These are the best cannoli I have ever had, especially the way they do the chocolate. The filling is PERFECT. I am usually disappointed.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
They have a large variety of sandwiches all at amazing prices! I have only ever experienced food from here from a large order for the group and they never disappoint. The food is tasty and the price is fair. Who can complain? It's great for a work lunch or just takeout for 1.

Sacrificial L.

Yelp
Went here after checking in at our hotel, mainly stopped by because it was close by and we were starving. Didn't expect to walk in to an authentic grocery store and sub place. Tried the sub with chicken, coleslaw, tomatoes, can't remember what else was on it. Solid 8/10, good sub and huge portions def recommend for seaport area sandwiches! Also had seating in the back.

Bobby W.

Yelp
We are in town for the Boston Nike volleyball invitational, staying at a hotel right down the street. We were looking for a quick little lunch spot and found J. Pace&sons. The atmosphere of the store was great, the service by owner and staff were down right perfect. I got a sandwich for my lunch. I got the J.Pace Italian and prosciutto. 10/10 for everything in that store. If you're in town please just go in and get yourself something to eat I promise you'll love it. J Pace Italian with Prosciutto Sandwich

Yelp
A Saturday morning , one old giy trying to orchestrate a breakfast /deli operation. I may have been the only English speaking person in the building , no meatball sausage combo so went with meatball , 5 degrees outside so eat in . Grinder , bag chips , 20 oz coke $20 . Meatballs stone cold inside , forgot the cheese , the place is for sale for a reason ! Next

Letsgoout N.

Yelp
So annoyed, was hyped to try this place... Ordered 2 steak bombs-1 no salami(who even puts salami in it??)1 regular w ketchup and mayo and banana peppers , both toasted.. What did I get ? Two sandwiches , one with banana peppers , both with nothing else but loose ground beef, a couple mushroom onion slices and half a slice of barely melted cheese. Bags were labeled correctly but that's about it. Glad I spent $30 on sandwiches that would probably be better at D'Angelo
google avatar

Reema P.

Yelp
Unseeming place but BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE EVER!!!! Have to make a stop here anytime we're in the Seaport area! You might think its just your local convenience store, but this cookie can compete and win against a gourmet bakery cookie hands down!!! Look how many chocolate chunks! Every bite is amazing. Sorry for the plastic wrapped photo oops!
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
Walk in and smell the goodness! I was in town for a conference and ate here three times. The Italian was awesome! They even had in house made Whoopie pies. Friendly staff made me feel welcome.
google avatar

Dan R.

Yelp
Honest to God, today I saw a guy taking a breakfast sandwich and a bottle of Drano to the register. You can buy anything here. Breakfast sandwiches, full breakfasts, pizza, sandwiches of every description, a dozen salads, pasta, hot subs, soup. They have a huge bakery, a meat counter, a deli, a liquor department, and a grocery and home goods section. We picked up three breakfast sandwiches, mine was bacon, egg, and cheese on an onion bagel. It was a 5-star sandwich without hesitation; huge, perfectly toasted, well cooked egg and bacon, just perfect. And the prices? No Boston rip-off pricing here. A very very fair $3.75! Wonder what that would have cost at the Renaissance?
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
This J Pace & Son location is an easy walk from the Seaport World Trade Center. Along the interior wall is a counter where you may order your sandwich or some prepared foods over on the right, some shelves of packaged foods to the left of the entrance, and a couple of cash registers where you can pay and head out to the tables set along the sidewalk, or over to a separate internal sitting area with a pair of bathrooms for their patrons. We came here during the Boston Comic Con so they were offering a more succinct menu - aka no hot sandwiches. That made me sad. I prefer warmed or pressed sandwiches generally, but I made do and ordered the Pavillion $7.25 (warm roast beef, American cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon bits, on an onion roll). Pleasantly, the roast beef was warm even though the sandwich itself was not toasted or anything. The bacon bits added a nice contrast of textures. The sandwich itself was just a tad too much for my appetite, but I ate it all, and regretted it a smidge.

Nancy K.

Yelp
Without a doubt my favorite place ; on Boston seaport ... homemade Marinara sauce is outstanding /fresh rolls everyday /delicious chicken salad and tuna great cheeses and meats / veggies Delicious baked goods ... all sorts of Italian groceries LOVE JOE PACE !

Ingrid A.

Yelp
Pretty good sandwiches!! Stopped by here before seeing a show at the Pavilion. Large portion sizes, and OK prices for Seaport.

Jackie R.

Yelp
I love this place for the most part but your experience will depend entirely on who you get at the counter. If you happen to get the kid who wears an ear pod and then asks you "what happened" when you order your Sandwhich like he doesn't know he works at a deli just leave. He is going to make you whatever Sandwhich on whatever bread he feels. You might be the only customer in there and it may take him 2-3 business days to make you the wrong sandwhich.

Yelp
My review is strictly based on their cakes. Unfortunately I don't have much experience eating their food but their cakes are absolutely amazing! Over the years my family has tried the following cakes: peanut butter, Oreo, strawberry shortcake, carrot, chocolate jubilee, black/white, chocolate chip, chocolate fudge and last but not least German Chocolate Cake! The German Chocolate is by far without a doubt the best cake we've had. All the cakes are rich in flavor and if you like chocolate, the JPace cakes are for you. Might as well spend on quality dessert for a special occasion or any occasion. I highly recommend JPace cakes. You can get a options added to cakes in some cases, we tend to add chocolate chips in and around the GCC. Joe at the Seaport is awesome, tell him Fredy sent to you!
