J.R. Crickets Smyrna

Just picked up wings and there’s a giant block party going on. Usually the wings are decent sized, but today they’re the smallest wings I’ve ever seen. How can you charge $30+ for this?

Not sure how service is inside but do not deliver from here! I called to make my catfish nuggets crispy and to make sure I got hot sauce, not only did they not do both of those things, this not a half pound and bland like it’s not fresh either. Certainly was scammed. Oh and first the lady was going to charge me for hot sauce as if that’s not a sauce to go with catfish. And the mozzarella sticks taste like funnel cake batter, very odd. How unfortunate as a first try. Update, As I was trying to be HONEST and still pleasant in my response as you all can see the STALE AND NOT HALF POUND OF NUGGETS IN THE PICTURE, the management thinks this is all over hot sauce?! Which also was also important because I was getting my kitchen redone and couldn’t leave at the moment to buy any either nor did I have any other sauces in the bag to eat with the 8 STALE NUGGETS THAT WERE NOT 1LB like I ordered. As you can see, management isn’t concerned with making sure SERVICE AND FOOD is a priority, instead they will leave nasty responses to negate their negligence. Disgusting response, you all would never get my service again and I hope no one else’s!

Food is great. Service was spectacular. They don't have no air y'all. Their million-n-1 fans wasn't doing anything. It was super hot. Probably want to wait until they get the air fixed before going up in there. Call before you go to make sure the air works!

Experience was somewhat of an eye opener. Prices slightly higher for wings and one drink, but the drinks were in a larger size glass. I will return to this location in the near future.

Went on a Sunday around 3pm. Wasn't very busy, the cashier was great, and the food was very fresh. We had the catfish plate and a 10 piece wings. Great time!

Called to place a to go order. Sat on hold for 10 minutes. Decided to drive in and order. I was told that I could place an order for a child after 9p. Then…….. the manager on duty proceeds to tell me how many people she had waiting inside as to why I was on hold for ten minutes. Light skin. Grey short wig. Smh. And they made HER a manager?? Her body language and customer service tells me that they made a bad decision.

Late night eating. The wings were not good...or what i have come to expect of JR Crickets. Wings are getting smaller and smaller and the flavor was off. Now let me say during lunch I eat there a quite a bit and have never had an issue but this night time eating definitely was. The South Cobb Flavor was also off. Service was just okay. Gonna try to keep supporting but I hope they are not allowing the service or food to go to Subpar. That is the quickest way to lose business. Also some of my wings tasted like they were freezer burned...but they cooked them anyway. It was after midnight and I was starving but I have never just left half of my wing order there for them to toss. They were pretty bad. Hope they get it together cause its one of our fav little spots.

I had the lemony pepper grilled wings to go, and they were very tasty and cooked to my desired crispiness. The guy who retrieved my order was extremely friendly, so the gratuity that was already added to my check did not make my stomach hurt too bad. I'd return, but I also need to remember the added fees whenever I decide to go back.

This has been my got spot for wings while in Atlanta for years. Started out a long time ago at the downtown location and now the Smyrna location is my new spot, different location but same great food. There are a multiple location around the city but they have never let me down. The wings are always hot and fresh and cooked just the way that I like them. I usually have some hot lemon peppers but any flavor that you choose will be great as I haven't gone wrong with anything I picked just wondering how this might taste. The staff is always super nice and friendly and make you feel right at home. The prices might be considered a little high but when you find good consistent food that you like I guess you can't complain. I've tried several locations but the Smyrna location keeps me stopping in on my way home every time that I am in the city. Stop on by, you won't regret it.

If they had a zero to rate, that would be what I'd choose. After traveling from Tennessee last Thursday, I call in an order to pick up before going home: 10pc wings and fries. The location is less than 5 mins from my apt. Before paying they ask you to chk the contents of your order. I did, wings looked great and I was hungry! Got home and the wings were petri-'fried' to death!! I couldn't tell the meat from the bones..it was like chewing wood!! They even tasted burnt. I call back and spoke w/Torrey. Explained and she was very nice about it and said I cld bring them back. I explained was too tired to come back and besides I'd already eaten at least 4-5 of the wings anyway. Again, I was hungry..but wanted her to know I was disappointed after spending $19. She told me next time I come to ask for her and she would take care of me. The fllw'g Saturday, I call in to place order w/Torry, she was not working that day. I explained the reason for my call. The response was not as friendly, but my order: 10 shrimp and fries would be complimentary. This time they didn't ask me to look at the order when I should have. Got home and the shrimp were fried to the point of not looking like shrimp. If it weren't for the tails..I would not have believed the shrimp!! I hope to be able to post pics. Will NEVER return to this location!!

Service was great. My friend lost her phone within the booth and the manager came over pretty quickly to help us retrieve it. We ordered the salmon Philly and the steak and cheese Philly. I liked that it came with a lot of fries but I've had better. It was packed with meat, peppers and onions. It could have been cheesier and the bread could've been a bit more toasted. It also lacked a bit of seasoning. They give you a great amount of whichever dressing you choose. Next time I come, I'll stick to my usual fried seafood platter.

South Cobb Way wings are the only way to go!! Ican't even describe the tantalizing flavors that you are in store to try. One order and I'm hooked. Speedy service. Excellent food. Chill ambiance with a live DJ on the weekends. This is a definite stop when I arrive in Atlanta.

I would give it a zero if I could 38.88 for 2 orders flavor less tiny chicken strips (only 4) and cold soggy fries with a tiny side of fried mushrooms less than 7 of them .. You can't make the price justified .., The cashier was a total cunt ... She demanded I put my change into the tip jar ..: which threw me off ... you don't ask let alone TELL people to put their money into the tip jar especially over paying for mediocre food ... Tipping is optional but they will make you feel they are obligated to your change no matter how much you get back " just go ahead and drop that in the tip jar" Even if they refunded my money or replaced my food which they didn't I would never go back . This place is over priced and nothing on the menu is worth getting even if everything was half priced . The employees suck and I wouldn't recommend anyone going here especially the one on Cobb parkway .

We called ahead to order 10 Buffalo wings with fries & 10 lemon pepper wings with 3 bbq ribs & fries. They told us the order will be ready 10 mins. When we arrived & picked up the order, they got the flavor of the wings wrong. We let them know & they asked if we wanna get it fixed... that was already a dumb question. So we had to wait additional 15 mins to get it fixed. We ordered the BBQ sauce for the ribs on the side. When we finally got home, & opened the bag again, there wasn't any bbq sauce. I called to let them know & the girl on the phone sounded retarded & rude. She said "Oh you can come back & pick the bbq sauce up!" No apology or nothing. Who the hell wants to get in the car & go get the sauce after they just messed up our order for the 2nd time in 1 night?? The service there is a shame. Don't pay attention to detail at all. I don't know what the employees are doing there? Just having fun like they're not at work or what?? That's insane.

Decided to drop in and get some wings on a regular Monday night. The lemon pepper wings were actually good and so was the margarita I ordered. My server was great however they get three stars for the fact that they charge you 30% on whatever you order. There is an automatic 20% gratuity for the server in this case she was good so I didn't mind. However there was also a 10% service charge that no one could explain and the charges couldn't be removed. I found that to be outrageous and on principle I cannot support this. It feels like theft. There are plenty of places with good wings so I won't be back unless they change this policy.

We came for the event for St. Patrick s day- it was full of people and the waitress was nice but service was slow. Drinks were ok. Not sure I would return if I didn't need to.

Everything needs to be improved. From having to pay 10% to take a to go order and 20% to sit down and eat. The small order of onion rings for $5 only comes with 4 onion rings. Literally 4!! 10/10 wouldn't recommend. Fries are absolutely cold. Just all bad all around

Had a blast last night at the CRICKETS in Smyrna! The service was quick and spot on. Friday night is a whole vibe, the music was poppin and so was the food! I had the single order of lemon pepper wings with fries and blue cheese dressing and a Blue moon beer and a glass of orange juice for the beer. Hubby had the chicken finger basket with frues and a sweet tea! Parking was free. The waiter was great but I didnt like the auto gratuity, it was only 2 of us! We will come back but dang! One of my favorite neighborhood spots. Some say that the wings are small but I love the size of them. My favorites are the S. Cobb Way wings that are both sweet and spicy. They are always flavorful. I also love the Cricket chips. If you enjoy adult beverages, the bartenders are great, especially Star, and they have $5 Tito's and JD daily. And the DJs on Friday nights are always great.

Food was good. We ordered the S. Cobb wings and fries. LaCole, the bartender, had a super BOMB personality and made me a great strawberry henny! She definitely provided me a great service. My 3 stars is for the business and let me explain why. When I asked for my check, I couldn't help but notice this business listed tip suggestions at the bottom of the receipt. Why in the world would a business recommend to its customers to tip their server 2,3,5 or even 7%?! Most business will at least recommend 10%. I am a big tipper but it's personal for me because I have family who work as bartenders and servers. That is absolutely absurd and I believe the recommendations should be higher. People will tip what they want at the end of the day but asking customers to tip .84¢ on a $54 bill is absolutely crazy. I ended up tipping $25 and I don't expect anyone else to do this but please recommend more for your employees. Some of your customers will take your recommendation and in my opinion, this is a slap in your servers faces.

Pros: the wings, obviously. I haven't had a bad meal here yet. Parking is easy Cons: service can be really really slow; have ordered the drink specials only to be charged full price (after specifically asking for the special); I go early and still run into the DJ (guess that's a pro if that's your vibe); can't order tap water, they "don't have any"

Always order takeout wings from here and they are sooo good, but actually dined in for the first time today. The atmosphere on Sunday is fun- football on all the TVs, DJ, everyone was lit, service was fast. They do automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill!

Wings were great, I was visiting from out of state and next door was crowded so I came and sat down here. Friendly staff, ordering was a breeze I just used my phone to order and pay. Inside could use some work, as water was dripping from the ceiling on my table but I didn't let that ruin my experience

Update: I'm not sure if I'm placing my order correctly. I always get the buffalo shrimp platter and make it hot lemon pepper extra wet. Yet, the last few times I've been, I've received butterfly shrimp instead of the regular-sized shrimp and I don't like it. The texture and consistency is different. What happened to the regular-sized shrimp?

Vibe cool, waitress cool, Managers cool, wings cool..but where's the A/C? Too hot in GA to eat inside where it is hot and outside feels better than inside..and outside is hot. Do better with that. Makes eating hot food miserable.

Team, my apologies for downgrading my rating even more, just received the check-added $12.73 gratuity for average service. It appears that they are not interested in improving, just milking the unsuspecting patrons regardless of poor food quality and experience. I DEFINITELY would NOT recommend JR Crickets in Smyrna!

Haven't been here for a while. There was sign that said short staff. We had to order then seat ourselves. We were charged a 10% fee for what I don't know. The food was awful. Tasted like the chicken tenders and the wings were cooked in fish grease. I will never eat there again. Maybe if they are that short staffed they need to close till they could cook the food correctly.

Listen best wings in GA and the service is great new management definitely brought me back. Now I will tell you they open at 12 pm for lunch and got specials. Now everything is made to order so bring your patients or phone ahead. This is a sports bar so bring your friends, talk junk, eat some wings and drink some spirits. This is the only one with the South Cobb way sauce trust me it's everything and then some. Don't forget to grab some cookies that are fresh baked and yep it's Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. It's enough space to stay safe and enjoy some laughs and good food.

South Cobb is my favorite spot the food is good drinks are very delicious the atmosphere and vibe is always great and the staff be on point I have fallen in love with the sweet potato tots ..and Friday Karaoke is always fun. The DJ's are always jamming

Interesting experience I had last weekend at this location. My family and I came and ordered basically two wing combos and a kid meal. All of this was $60!!! To me, that's outrageous for wings. But, I guess that's Atlanta for you. The wings were amazing. Great flavor. But the fries came out cold and the kid tender meal was terrible. 4 year old refused to eat them and I don't blame him. Maybe next time I'll just get wings to go and make my own fries at home.

This is the place to go for wings!!! We get the bbq wings extra crispy with sweet potato tots. They have perfect amount of sauce and crunch. We also like the dirty bird flavor as well. It's bbq and lemon pepper mixed. Sooooo good. Service is good and the prices aren't bad. They have NFL games playing during the season so the ambiance is nice if you like that.

It is simply no secret that they have delicious wings. The lemon pepper wings and the dirty bird wings are pretty tasty. I recommend you eat them while they are hot and fresh. The fish and the shrimp are decent. The ribs, fries and burgers are just OK. The bartenders are friendly and may move slow but are fine. The servers are very hit or miss. You may have a server that moves like molasses , neglects your table or have a super prompt, attentive one. The management could step it up to provide a more consistent experience in the right direction. Most times I order food to go for this reason and eat it promptly after getting home. The Dj on the weekends is cool. I have no complaints The wind down Wednesday is something I did once and don't need to do it again. They completely ignore the customer service inside. Ppl park literally all over the place and it gets pretty crowded at times. The live music they hire is good but the outdoor party is not ideal for other patrons. I cannot go beyond a three star rating b/c they don't go beyond that for customers....

Total Experience: 3.5 Stars Food 5/5 Catfish: best I've had in a LONG time Shrimp: Game Changer ! Chicken: Wet Lemons Pepper; spicy and tangy for the win!!! Service 3/5 -orderended the fish and shrimp platter (add 5 wings), Didn't initially revive my shrimp, took an additional 30 minutes to eventually get my shrimp, then when the check came I was initially charged an additional 5.29 because my order wasn't rang up improperly Confirmed must stop establishment when in Atlanta! #TheHypeIsReal!

Bar none the worst customer service I've experienced from a resturant...and by the owner at that. Went to watch the UGA gm. Place is empty with 4 UGA fans sitting down for the gm. Owner has the Mich./OSU gm on. Ask if he can switch the UGA to the big screen so we can hear the gm. His response..."Im watching the OSU gm...and yall Fanatics are something else". I say "we are paying public and we can be something else anywhere else besides here". All of a sudden the UGA is no longer playing on any TV's. We left the food we ordered right where they sat it down and left to finish the gm at the battery. I've patronized this place before but not another dime will ever be spent in a place that is so bad with a simple concept of customer service...

Ohhhhh what a night! Good vibes, good people, good food, good drinks, good music, good crowd! It was HBCU/Greek Homecoming Night at Wednesday Wind Down. The final WWD of the season. I'll definitely be back next year when they come back with it. Good times indeed! Thanks to Shameika for inviting me out at the top of the summer. Enjoyed it so much that I went back again and again. So happy to have seen Michon, Erinn, Joi, Rasheedah, Sheree, Ayanna, Meika, Robert and his whole family, Bryan, and everybody else in the place tonight!! Much love! Rob was on the tuba tonight with the Red Sample Band. Mannnnn, they were awesome!! I really felt like I was at homecoming! Oh and the owner of this J.R. Crickets - Smyrna is such a cool dude. J.R. crickets has always been a favorite of mine then it became a favorite of my son and his friends during high school. I have always loved karaoke and the drinks are strong. Plenty of parking even an outdoor patio enclosed to boot. How ever I figured it's been several years since I've been here so I stopped in today and got the fish and fries. Please believe it was delicious, however I got my order to go and there was no fork or anything to eat with. I for one prefer a fork to eat my food but this fish was so good I eat it with my hand. I was suggest adding a little coleslaw to the to go meals to help digest the food on the run. I had highly recommend J.R. crickets. I'll be back but this time I want some coleslaw with the fish.

So... went to JR Crickets for a walk up order. I was told my order would be ready in 15 min, but based off the line I knew it would take a little longer so I ordered a cocktail. After sucking my drink dry, seeing folks who placed orders AFTER me receive their food AND A HOUR LATER.... I asked for a refund. Not sure if they need to hire some folks, but having only 4-5 people working at a fully established restaurant chain .... is NOT the move to be effective and efficient for a restaurant that has hours closing at midnight almost every day. By the way, I got there around 8ish. You would think you would rather have too many employees working versus not enough .. but I guess not at this location. Needless to say... I should've went with my first instinct .... WINGSTOP. Just read a couple more recent reviews and I'm in agreement with the manager not being hospitable... he didn't have a problem with giving me my refund BUT he didn't apologize for the long wait NOR did he try to accommodate for the slow service by comping something on the next visit. Now, that would've been a great way to bring a customer back that had an unpleasant experience, but who am I? I'll tell you... someone who will make sure to spread the word to not go to that location. Be blessed .

The 2 star is of course because the wings are great! I've ordered delivery from here several times but only dined in once. Service is awful. My sister and I came around 11pm. You use a QR code to order and pay the tip at the same time. If you get food, there is also a service charge. Basically, once you order and they bring the food, they do not check in you at all. And, you can not even get tap water. I asked a waitress as she left another table for waters, she said ok. 10 minutes later still no water, so my sister goes to the bar and they say you can only buy bottled water. Wth kind of place doesn't offer at least tap water. On top of that, they only have basic drinking drinks thatI drank in college such an amaretto sour. I ordered a Jamaican mule and it tasted like straight sour mix, no alcohol. My sister's drink was super sweet too, almost like minimal alcohol. I will never dine in here, and prob never buy fresh here again.

If imma get some wangs, it's gonna be from JR Crickets. The South Cobb Way flavor is hands down the best flavor. It's a mixed between lemon pepper and sweet and spicy. So good! And you gotta get em grilled too. Since the pandemic, I've ordered from them a few times and haven't been disappointed not once. At one point, it became a once a month on a Friday thing. Knew me by name too. 10 wings and a side of fries for twelve bucks. And the take out service is good too. They got fancy over the past few months and now you'll get a text when your order is ready. Smart. I have tried the shrimp and wings meal. It was okay. Sometimes you just gotta order what the restaurant specializes in and for them, it's wings.

Last summer my friend introduced me to this restaurant. I have been back at least 3 times since then and have tried several items on the menu and have not tried a single item I did not love! Excellent service with an upbeat vibe.

I come to J R Crickets *exclusively* for the wings. There is no other option really. They are the best. The problem is that it's hit-or-miss with service whether it's take out or dine in. In the past 6 months I've had more issues with just trying to place and receive orders, rather than having issues with the order themselves. And don't get me started on "Wine Down Wednesdays" there. They host some sort of party out in their parking lot where people pile in with chairs and coolers and listen to live music. It looks fun but good luck ever trying to actually order food when it's happening. They don't care about actual food orders during this event -- it's all about catering to a bunch of people not even patroning their RESTAURANT. I made the mistake of ordering a party size hot wing order and couldn't even find a parking space to pick it up.... I called them and the guy on the phone suggested I park across the street to come to the party. I told him I'm picking up an take out order, not attending their party. He said, "do what you have to do" and hung up. TL;DR -- this place has great food but is inconsistent with service. Don't even try to patron the business during their parking lot party... they don't care during that time.

We've ordered takeout from JR Crickets a lot, we love their food but... Our latest experience was not good at all! I called in to place my order on Saturday evening and the lady on the phone was SO RUDE and sarcastic almost like she was mocking me, pretending she doesn't understand/can't hear what I'm saying super unprofessional. My husband went to pick up the order and without me telling him anything about my horrible experience on the phone he came back home and told me how Rude, unprofessional and unfriendly the staff were. If I could give the owner advice it'll be to hire friendlier and more professional people because you Will be losing business one after the other because of this! Food was still good which is a bummer that service sucked!

This particular J.R. Crickets has a club atmosphere at night time. The wings are good and it's a party while you wait on your food

Location is good, but can be a little hard to get into. All food is good, but the wings are the star. The lemon pepper wet, S. Cobb way and others have insanely good flavor. The chicken itself could be a higher quality (size of wings), but overall a good experience.

Food or drink wasn't up to par...then when mentioned it to the staff the old head and an attitude....will not return nor recommend...the music was ok

The chicken is good , sometimes The staff is rude , sometimes Sometimes on the site it will say the store is open and you'll go there and it's not ... sometimes They have signs saying they deliver ( Postmates ) but they are rarely 'open' in the app .... Sometimes you get lucky and it's a great experience, sometimes you don't.

Go here for the bartender.... do not take food to go... it wont taste the same... the bartenders are the best especially the old lady who seems to want to make certain you have the best experience

Friday nights were nice when karaoke and crab legs were the attraction. The owners son is very defensive and rude when questioned about food, drinks inconsistencies. Prices on crab legs have increased 4 times in 2 years, and the atmosphere is very scary at times. Not to mention when confronted by the owners son about why after 5 years I should not be complaining. If I go to Chris's next door his service is impeccable along with drinks and food are consistent. 3.7.2019 Went into lounge with friend who is family of the owner sat down and was literally told by the security that because of my reviews I am no longer welcome in his establishment. The owner himself wasn't man enough. As karma may have it, the DJ and two other patrons contacted me to say I'm not the only one that has provided feedback. It's just that... feedback and something to learn from, not to turn into a negative.

South Cobb location is great sports bar to hang out with coworkers or friends. Bar food is fair to good and they have great specials and themes every day (including a karaoke night!) If you are a big sports person this is definitely a great location because it feels like a party! You're listening to music (usually a live DJ), eating, drinking and sometimes dancing! If you just want some wings and cheap drinks without having to drive inside the perimeter this is the spot for you. I've never had an issue with parking. I removed a star because last night we ordered a margarita pitcher and it seemed a bit... diluted... So... go up the extra dollar or two for Patron instead of house.

We came in and ordered a 30 piece lemon pepper wing at 10:15pm. We did not receive out order until 10:51 pm. The wings were good some were a little salty. If you want to hang out and listen to some music and have a couple of drinks than this is the spot for you, but don't go when you are hungry because the wait was super long for our food.
