Google
Delightful, delicious, and surprising. They provide table service if you’re eating in, and then they cook it up fresh. The cook even helped me order since I was unfamiliar with a lot of the choices. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Well done!

Google
Disappointed. I ordered Tonkotsu Spicy Miso and it came with only a slice of chashu and some more without egg. I give 3 stars for the food because of the broth still nice.

This was my first time trying J san. Im a fan of japanese curry so decided to try the fullerton location. We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one other family. So plenty of space. I can see it getting crowded easily during busy times. This is a sit down style place. We were given menus, ordered at the table, got food and paid like a standard resteraunt. So probably not the best if looking for a fast food style setting. We got chicken katsu curry and spicy beef curry. Both were delicious but if I had to rate it, it would be behind coco. The chicken curry wasnt all too spicy. Maybe mild. The beef did have a little kick to it. Each dish was $14. With two drinks and tip came to around $40 for two people. Not cheap but not the worst. My only real complaints were they left the front door open and flies got in and they kept playing the same song over and over again. Would recommend but there are definitely better curry places around.

Google
Space is really small for a big family party... only 1 person working and he was doing everything from cooking ti taking the payments. My 1st time coming here. Food was okay but felt like everything was rushed. The only cool thing here was they had nice decorations around. The chicken was over cooked almost a bit burn.

Google
I enjoyed my meal. It was close to the authentic Ramen I have had in Japan.

Google
Tonkotsu Spicy Miso’s broth is good and perfect spice level for me. The only thing i didnt like is the chashu, its was too dry.

Google
Loved this ramen place! My friends and I make it a must-stop whenever we’re on a business trip to Southern California. The food is great and the owner is super sweet!

Google
Excellent food. Slightly overpriced but delicious!! Will definitely come back. I found this place cause it’s close to the yoga place we have been going to. So happy we did. It’s perfect. Ordered the Vegan Ramen from there — it came with the mushroom broth with amazing flavor.

Yelp
This place is really good. Like really really good. I haven't no clue why the place was so busy on a Thursday evening, I feel like it should be packed. The space is warmly decorated with nice booth seating throughout. Staff was polite and prompt, food came out quickly and with water. The chicken was so so so so good. The broth was nice and clean with some nice noodles. This was my second time visiting and the last time I came I told myself I needed to make a return trip asap and forgot. I'm writing this review to remind myself to come back the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Wanted some ramen and curry so we stopped in. It was nice to have a simple and concise menu that still offered a good variety. Husband got the Tonkotsu Spicy Miso and I got the Tonkotsu Miso + Level 2 spicy, and we shared the larger curry bowl (my ramen had a spicier kick whereas my husband's had a warmer overall heat to it). Everything was super tasty and I particularly enjoyed the slight noodle chew from the perfectly cooked noodles. Service was quick and attentive. Appreciated there wasn't too much small talk and we got straight to the food. Smaller spot so it may get busy quickly. Worth the wait. For sure we will be back.

Yelp
Stopped by this spot for Japan. Clean, bright fast service atmosphere. Efficient (if quick and quiet) service. Tonkotsu ramen was tasty.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! I devoured every bite, and it left me craving more. The service was quick and efficient. Though the store is on the smaller side. The ambiance reminds me of ramen shops in Japan. It's definitely a spot worth trying if you get the chance!

Yelp
This was my second time trying out a ramen spot, my first try was a very bad experience, didn't even eat half of it, so thought I just didn't have the taste buds for it. We came in during our lunch hour, we were attended right away, clean area, enough tables for plenty. I asked for whatever was their most ordered item since I have no idea what to get. After a reasonable time. Our food was brought, it looked great just like the pictures. The taste was amazing! Really really good! I'm so glad I gave this dish a second try at a different place. I will be coming back for more!

Yelp
Came here on a whim to eat ramen late night and we were pleas surprised w the quality and flavor! My party of four opted to get the ramen combo, which came with an appetizer for $5 extra. We got one of each appetizer and they were all delicious! The favorite was the Squid Karagge and everything was pretty crispy. The tonkatsu miso ramen had pretty solid and bold flavor and we appreciated that it came with half an egg, although a full egg would be nice as well. I loved the corn topping and felt the bowl came together nicely. Service was quick for it just being one guy working. Major props to getting our food out at a good time but still being delicious. Ambiance is clean, I've seen this ramen place driving by but never actually stopped to dine here. So glad to have done so though and we will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Good service and food in this small Japanese restaurant. Ordered the tonkotsu black ramen and okonomi yaki.
google avatar

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday night. Just one guy working. Not very welcoming. Didn't make you feel that he's happy to have you visit his place. Not even a smile. Ordered the black garlic tonkatsu. It was served quickly. It was good but a little on the salty side. Sometimes ho-hum service can wreck a meal.
google avatar

Marzi M.

Yelp
Good ramen and ok service. It was my second visit here and they did not disappoint. Small and comfortable sitting area. Will definitely eat here again.

Isaac L.

Yelp
The Ramen and curry were absolutely amazing. The owner was very gracious and friendly, and the service was outstanding. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
The chicken Ramen was really good. I recommend this place. We were looking for a robin place on our way back from Disneyland and we found this place. It was a hole in the wall, but it's good.
google avatar

Oscar V.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken soup ($15) in the picture it had good size pieces of chicken and an egg. The soup had a good taste but only 3 small chucks of chicken and no egg. I asked the employee if it was suppose to come with an egg and he replied with "no it's too expensive for egg right now". Don't think I'll be coming back as the prices are too high for what they serve.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
The ramen I got was good until the broth (a major component of eating ramen) started tasting overly salty, like MSG level salty. Also, the AC was blasting in the evening and it was still wintertime when I ate here, yes this is a late review lol. It was overly freezing inside to comfortably enjoy my ramen bowl. Don't know if I'd recommend J San Ramen, as there are many other ramen spots deserving of going to instead.
google avatar

Theresa Huong D.

Yelp
Full disclosure - we didn't get the ramen but were interested in the rice bowls. The way I would describe the food is...lacking. The flavors were good overall but presentation was sad. Typically, other places would at least give some pickled radish, cucumber, or garnish. The rice karage bowl was literally just rice and chicken. The curry was literally rice and a cutlet with curry. Would it be so costly to just add like an onion garnish or cilantro? Idk it just felt lacking and for that price, I wouldn't come back. For context, we came on a Friday night and it was completely empty the whole time we were there. We're all about small biz usually but I think maybe if presentation and quality improved a bit, there would be more interest. It is a very sad truth!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was super delicious! I ordered takoyaki, ika karage, chicken karage, and the spicy miso tonkotsu ramen. The sides can come as a combo with the ramen as well for a cheaper price! The staff was super nice and quick with the food! We ordered and only waited about 10 minutes for our food. The average price per person here was around $20 give or take. The seating area was nice, clean and super spacious for a ramen place. I would definitely comeback here again.

Yelp
Nothing beats ramen for cold weather eats. I'm also excited to find another ramen spot w curry katsu! I wasn't hungry enough for both. But I'll definitely be back to give the curry a try. It's a small spot but conveniently located near a boba place. I need a milk tea w my spicy ramen. They were kind enough to put the spice on the side so I could spice it to my liking. My friend added spinach on the side and also got the shrimp tempura. The tempura was funny looking to me cuz it was all squared off on the edges so I'm not sure how/why they do that. But I wish they had tempura dipping sauce w it instead of what looked like maybe a spicy mayo. I took home my leftovers in separate containers for broth and noodles and enjoyed my leftovers the next day. It was just as yummy if not more so because the spice settled into the ramen. I recommend this unassuming ramen spot for after a day of shopping at all the nearby retailers - target, Costco, Tilly's, and so much more.

Yelp
The food here was amazing. They really accommodated to my allergy. Everyone else's food was also amazing according to them. The service was super quick and the restaurant ambiance was very welcoming and relaxing.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday around 2 pm for lunch and the place was completely empty. The server was polite but didn't seem too enthused to be there or to see us. We ordered the Tonkotsu black ramen and the tonkotsu miso ramen, along with fried baby octopus. The octopus was tender and crunchy but overly greasy. The portion size was small for the price. The ramens were also just okay. I would say everything was just mediocre. There are better ramen places nearby.
google avatar

Vivian N.

Yelp
I've ordered from them on Grubhub before but this was the first time that I've been in person. I orders the tonkotsu black ramen. The ramen was good with a nice sized portion of noodles and the broth wasn't super heavy but the flavor still packed a punch. My favorite part was the char siu on top because the edges were a little bit crispy and it went perfectly with the flavor of the broth and noodles. The only major thing that I wish was that I got both halves of the soft boiled egg because it was cooked perfectly and had a nice soft centered. The shop is on the smaller size with around 10 booths give or take. The staff was friendly and got everything out in a timely manner, so I think I'll come back here when I have a ramen craving.

Yelp
Went on a friday around 4ish pm and it was empty ... idk why everything was delicious, i had a spicy ramen, beef bowl and takoyaki! Definitely coming back! And the service was excellent even tho it was just 1 guy doing it all!

Laura B.

Yelp
What you always want to know right off is: is the broth good? It's FANTASTIC! The regular and spicy miso were perfect for today's gloomy weather. They have REAL wood ear mushrooms and tasty seaweed (as well as corn, green onion, sprouts) to spruce up your bowl. I'm definitely coming back here!
google avatar

Don K.

Yelp
Outstanding ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu black ramen. So good, not overly creamy and noodles were perfectly cooked. The kikurage absorbs the fine flavor of the broth. Looking forward to visiting again. Normally I would try another ramen but this one was so good, I'll order again but with some sides next time. Service was prompt and friendly. Clean, modern, small restaurant.

Yelp
Small mom and pop shop in Fullerton. My pork katsu curry was good and filling. Simple menu of the basics here, so nothing fancy. Wish the curry could have had the option to be spicier, but if you want something to fill your stomach and you're not in the mood to cook, this is your spot. Service was quick and efficient. Shared large lot with plenty of parking. Busy street (Harbor Blvd) in front, so be careful leaving the lot. Prices are reasonable and not overly expensive. Happy eating!!!

Yelp
Was in Anaheim for a tradeshow, and came here 2/3 nights. Phenomenal ramen, friendly staff, served quickly. If you love good authentic ramen, this is the spot! So stoked I found this place :)

Yelp
Broth was amazing. quantity was quite less for the price but totally worth it. Will definitely visit again

Yelp
Little hole in the wall, great for a quick dinner. The service is always great and the food always comes out fresh. The chicken ramen is always my go to, never disappoints!
google avatar

Karalynn N.

Yelp
Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. The soup was flavorful, the noodles were perfect. I am not a big fan of corn, so they accommodated! I was surprised for the cha shu, it was fall apart tender. The service was friendly and attentive. To my picture, it was a good quick stop for ramen.
google avatar

Yelp
Five stars!!!! Super yummy if you like authentic good quality ramen noodles are fresh and the employees are super nice and attentive, one of my favorite places to get ramen
google avatar

Yelp
I always passed this place but never tried it & so glad I did! small restaurant but good choices. ordered ramen = good! only comes in one size. I think it's kind of small for the price compared to everywhere else beef rice bowl = delicious fried ika = lightly battered was really good

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite in the afternoon before a movie on a cold day and was pleasantly surprised by this little ramen spot. Not a lot in turn of "ambiance", but it is very clean and inviting. We were immediately sat by the staff and put in a booth. Again nothing too fancy but that's not the point, it was comfy enough to enjoy a nice meal. She quickly took our order and in a short amount t of the time the food was coming out. It was very tasty! My only let down from the meal was the drinks weren't fountain AND it's a Pepsi establishment. Yes yes I know personal preference but still... Other than that this is definitely a place I would recommend to a friend or stop by again!

Brit S.

Yelp
So good the spicy miso was really yummy I am not going to lie! Didn't take a pic of the before but look at the after pic it explains the taste!!
google avatar

Yelp
Made a quick search for a short lunch in the shopping district of Fullerton. Ordered the Tonkatsu Spicy Miso Ramen and a small bowl of Chashu on rice. The ramen broth was quite tasty and flavorful. The chashu slices in my bowl were on the dry side, perhaps from being pre sliced earlier. Nonetheless, I will return to try more of the other menu selections. The restaurant and kitchen was very clean and organized. Seating is at booths for 4, or small tables for 2. You would need to arrange the furniture for a large party. The service was quick! Kudos to the young man working solo there!
google avatar

Caleb R.

Yelp
Quick service and a chill environment with great food! Very good ramen, broth was well flavored and the chicken karaage was crispy and fresh! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Neil P.

Yelp
One of the best ramen spots in the OC, my go to when I want a well flavored spicy ramen.

Gabriel G.

Yelp
Ordered a curry bowl to go, phone etiquette was about as lack luster as the bowl. I asked what was in the bowl and was told pork and veggies. I was expecting some veggie and pork chunks. Instead I received what was pictured. Curry sauce and rice, meat was minimal and the only "veggies" I could see were small hints of orange carrot. Flavor was not bad but that's not saying much when curry powder mix is readily available to everyone. Bowl was cheap but it would honestly be better for them to charge more and serve some curry with substance. For simple curry sauce and rice what they are charging is absurd.
google avatar

Maneki N.

Yelp
We go here several times a month. Portions getting smaller, but food still good. Better to raise prices and keep Same portion size. Spicy tonkatsu ramen.
google avatar

Brianne L.

Yelp
Since it's FINALLY cooling down for fall, I decided ramen was on the menu. I ordered for delivery- so my review is based on that. The ramen was delivered packaged from the soup base which makes all the difference. I poured the base over and let it set for a minute while I did a few other things. Once I came back it was perfect. It was also still warm. I did add an extra egg, and it was worth it. The Okonomiyaki is a thick pancake, a bit eggy for my tastes, but still had good flavor. It was not as crispy as I would prefer, but considering this was delivered form a different city, I am okay with that. Overall, I would visit this place in person and have it delivered in the future which is not something I do often (reorder delivery). Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Joshua O.

Yelp
The place deserves a 5 star. This place is amazing got the miso ramen and it was one of the best ramen bowls I've ever ate. 10/10. The service is great too. Also I f with the ambiance. It feels like I'm in an anime.

Yelp
Inexpensive, fast service, clean & bright facility, and has indoor and outdoor seating. Not a fancy place, think of fast food, sit-down Japanese food, in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Meets your craving for fast food. Typical college town fare - ramen and curry rice. Fried squid, Takoyaki (Fried Balls of Octopus and other things) also available as appetizers. All items appeared to be pre-made (bags of frozen ingredients) and bought in volume with the final prep (frying, boiling, etc) done on site. Small shop, so don't expect home-made stuff. I liked the Tonkatsu Black Ramen which comes with one piece of Chasu, half a runny egg, seaweed, ramen, bean sprouts, ramen, in a soy based soup. Wife had the Curry Combo - two shrimp tempura, pork Tonkatsu, potato croquette with curry and white rice. Conclusion: Go here if you're in a hurry and have a craving for Japanese fast-food. Fast service, clean & bright, lots of parking

Yelp
Ordered to go and the tonkotsu spicy miso ramen was excellent. The soup, noodles, egg ... everything was tasty in it
google avatar

Yelp
The Spicy Miso Ramen is my go to. I definitely recommend this place. I was amazed by the flavor especially when you throw that chili oil in your soup. I love supporting small businesses like this. If you by the area you have to give it a try. 100%

Yelp
Delicious food and funny bathroom signs gets a 5 star from me! The food is constantly good and service is quick.

Mike H.

Yelp
i would've rate 0 star! i wanted to try this new place. Service was below expectations, no communication just order the food. Ramen was okay not great where i can say Wow. When i paid they charged a service charge on top of the tax. I tip above 10% since there's a service charge and as i was walking out. He yelled mother fucker, mother fucker twice! i asked him what did you say, he denied it. I told him i heard what you said , be a man and say it to my face.

Yelp
J San Ramen is truly Amazing with just two staff working this little restaurant in Fullerton plaza by the Sprouts supermarket and health care clinics and Bank. Daniel and Chef are both Amazing working hard to get everyone order done right the first time around. The Black Tonkutsu Ramen is really full of intense flavor and Umami richness found in this well balanced and delicious broth. The Fried squids and baby octopus was so crispy and cooked just right. An appetizer starters delicious delight and goes great with any alcoholic drink or hot tea. Be sure to ask for your favorite secret dipping sauce with added hotness or garlic. The garlic endame was very good and hot. The Chicken Ramen noodles was flavorful with just the perfect sweetness and depth. Great job guys. Just enough room for 20 customers in here but the Amazing service and food will definitely bring you back to try all of their favorite dishes here in Fullerton. Have a wonderful Memorial day weekend my friends. God bless you and come here whenever you are available for lunch or dinner.

Tianna D.

Yelp
I love their baked oysters. I don't often see such a delicacy at other ramen spots but this would be my definite go to for now. The staff were kind and generous. Always made rounds to check on all tables to see if we needed more food or accommodations. Vibe reminds me of traditional Japanese ramen house.
google avatar

Rebecca G.

Yelp
This place is very good and fast The ramen is great and you can alter it all to your liking. We also got sushi, edamame And the fried chicken which was all great. Service was good especially since we got there late. We will return
google avatar

Yelp
I AM NOT KIDDING. THATS IT. GG. I love coming here. Fast, great, and always satisfies my cravings for THE BEST and ONLY ramen I go to.
google avatar

Yelp
Ramen and katsu are relatively affordable price. Katsu is good. But nothing special about it. I would rather stay home to cook Korean ramen at $1
google avatar

Yelp
Good Ramen and Gyoza. I recommend getting spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, so rich in flavor. Service and ambience ok
