We got the restaurant week $60 dinner set!
Appetizers: roast beef, crab salad
When I heard the preset here was A5, I wasn't expecting almost cured beef, but that's what it is! The flavor was good, but I thought The crab won here. The latter had excellent flavor, but the beef salad had a vinaigrette that made the actual salad part more delicious. It was a refreshing appetizer.
First course: roast duck+anchovy broccoli+spicy tuna scoop, beef brisket bacon+tomato with yogurt+shrimp cocktail
My favorites were the duck, anchovy broccoli, and shrimp cocktail, while my partner enjoyed the duck, spicy tuna, and tomato with yogurt! So across the board, the dishes were good but up to your own preferences. I thought each flavor was interesting, but was only truly impressed with the anchovy broccoli.
Main course: traditional shabu beef bowl, traditional vinegar beef bowl (both comes with miso soup and pickled cucumber)
Both were really good! The traditional shabu beef bowl had that japchae-esque taste with vinegar and bell pepper, while the traditional vinegar had a radish scoop that added that extra something to each bite. These bowls were super filling.
Dessert: soy milk pudding, sugar soaked fresh fruit with vanilla ice cream
These were both great! People with a sweet teeth and those without can enjoy both of these without complaint, because they're not overwhelming at all but do a good job at satisfying that final touch to a meal. I personally preferred the milk pudding though--tasted a little more professional to make.
Ambiance was also really cute. The venue is cute but comfy, and the decoration made me feel like I was in a bamboo bowl. Service was great too. Everything was served at the right pace, and the staff was attentive. Strangely though, for a nice place, they played 2010s pop music lol.
Overall, would definitely recommend for a date night. However, those looking to have some big beef chunks might want to look at other options on the menu.
