11 Best Affordable Hotels in Dubai | Condé Nast Traveler

"An hour outside Dubai set against the Al Hajar Mountains, I found JA Hatta Fort to be a quaint desert oasis and one of the city’s older hotels that still feels surprisingly fresh and modern: spacious rooms with balconies and mountain views, subtly Arabic‑inspired decor, and charming white‑beamed ceilings. The grounds are delightfully activity‑focused — a six‑hole mini‑golf course, tennis courts, billiards, snooker, air hockey, and more — and the sheer serenity and expansive mountain vistas make it a perfect weekend hideaway from the city." - Nicola Chilton

JA Hatta Fort Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival? One of the oldest hotels in the country, JA Hatta Fort is an oasis in the desert. Just an hour outside of the city and set against the Al Hajar Mountains, the hotel is a quaint hideaway. Nice. What’s the crowd like? The hotel draws many Dubai locals and travelers from around the region. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Spacious rooms have balconies with mountain views, and are surprisingly fresh and modern given the property's age. The decor is subtly Arabic-inspired, and rooms have charming white-beamed ceilings. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms are basic, with a walk-in shower and large tub, but, like the rooms, are spacious. Products are by Elemis. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The grounds are home to many different activities, all included: there's a six-hole mini-golf course, tennis courts, billiards, snooker, and air hockey among them. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The sheer serenity, coupled with expansive mountain views, make it well-worth a weekend outside the city."

Definitely one of my favorite hotels. Great escape from the busy city life. What is special about it, is the amazing and friendly staff! Special thanks to Ms Ayesha at the reception for being very welcoming and explaining all available facilities and activities around. Special thanks to Mr Nilo as well who was very supportive and fun to be around while playing shooting and archery! I love that it’s quiet, many activities in the hotel itself including paddle, billiard, table tennis, tennis, archery, shooting, babyfoot and pools of course. Rooms are very clean and look like modern huts with privacy and a balcony and a breathtaking view. The breakfast is great as well with a nice view. The hotel is also surrounded by all touristy areas such as wadi hatta hub, kayaking, bee farm and many restaurants. Absolutely love it and will definitely come back again and again❤️

We recently went to JA Hatta Fort Hotel, and with the weather finally being nice, it was the perfect time for our group of three families to go. We were so happy that the resort is dog-friendly because our friends were able to bring their dog along! The rooms we stayed in were a decent size, and it was great just spending time with our friends. We really enjoyed doing all the activities the resort had - there was a huge variety to keep us busy all weekend. The highlight of the trip, though, was definitely the staff; they were absolutely amazing and made the whole experience effortless. My only criticism would be that the food at the resort was just average. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly memorable either. Highly recommend it for a fun, active family weekend. Nice family staycation.

Tranquil Retreat, But Dining and Value Need a Major Upgrade We chose this hotel specifically for a relaxing, quiet getaway in Hatta, and on that front, the property truly delivers. The atmosphere is nicely secluded, calm, and quiet, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to completely switch off and escape the city noise. If tranquility is your top priority, you will find it here. However, the experience was significantly let down by the limited facilities and dining options, especially considering the premium price point. The breakfast was unfortunately quite limited and requires substantial improvement in variety and quality to justify the nightly rate, which is not cheap. It felt more like a basic offering than what one expects from a hotel at this price. Furthermore, we were very disappointed to find that there was no full buffet restaurant or substantial dining option for lunch and dinner. Given that Hatta itself has very few restaurant choices, we had planned to spend our evenings relaxing and dining at the hotel. Finally, while the area is naturally quiet, the hotel should consider adding more organized activities or amenities for families with kids. In a remote location like this, having engaging on-site activities is essential to keep younger guests entertained. In summary, a beautiful, peaceful place to sleep, but the poor value, lack of dining facilities, and limited breakfast mean we cannot fully recommend it until these essential areas are addressed.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! Firstly the Staff are absolutely amazing. So accommodating with a beautiful and polite manner. Secondly the facilities on-site are great- so many things for our family to choose from. Then comes the huge selection of off-site activities which add to this staycation. The beautiful wadi hub, the hatta dam and the bee farm! Everything is safe and easy to get to. Thirdly, the food, the small BUT varied selection is just perfect! Everyone from kids, teens to adults were satisfied and the quality was much better than some of the more higher end hotels! Finally, the rooms - spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Did i mention the STAFF - they were just amazing! Thank you TEAM HATTA FORTE!

Had a wonderful stay with my family this weekend. Lived in Dubai for 31 years and come here throughout and it never fails to impress. Such a carefree getaway. Too much to enjoy. The staff here are part of the experience. Thank you all especially Lucky 🙏🏼 We'll be back 😊

We recently spent THE weekend at JA Hatta Fort Hotel with our two little ones (ages 1 and 4), and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable family trips we’ve had in the UAE. The hotel truly is a hidden gem — surrounded by mountains and fresh air, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world just a short drive from Dubai. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and at ease. Check-in was smooth, and the team went out of their way to make the kids feel special — they were given little welcome drinks and sweets, which was a lovely touch! Our room was spacious and spotless, with plenty of room for the kids to move around (they came and set up a cot for our smallest). The mountain views from the terrace were absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The facilities for families were fantastic. The two swimming pools (one temperature-controlled) were perfect (one adults pool and one family pool). The kids’ pool had a shaded area so they could splash around safely. The playground and mini-zoo were huge hits — our children loved seeing the deer and peacocks up close! There’s also a mini-golf course, archery range, and cycling paths, so there was always something fun to do together as a family. We dined at Café Gazebo and Jeema Restaurant, both of which offered great food and plenty of kid-friendly options. The breakfast buffet was a highlight — fresh fruit, pancakes, and an omelette station kept everyone happy. What really stood out was how peaceful and natural the setting felt. We enjoyed walking around the landscaped gardens, watching the birds, and taking short drives to nearby attractions like the Hatta Dam and Hatta Wadi Hub. Overall, JA Hatta Fort Hotel is the perfect destination for families looking to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors without compromising on comfort. Our kids are already asking when we can go back — and honestly, we can’t wait either! Instagram: @journeywithuss

We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! We stayed in a terq cabin, which was very spacious—perfect even for a family of five to sleep comfortably. The room was clean, and the view was absolutely beautiful. The hotel is ideal for families with kids, offering plenty of entertainment options such as table tennis, ping pong, pool tables, and air hockey. There was also a mini zoo, and the zookeeper (a very kind gentleman from Pakistan) was incredibly friendly and supportive. A big thank you to him for his explanations and the lovely snapshots! All the staff members were so friendly, polite, and helpful. The food was delicious, and we truly loved everything about this venue, set in a breathtaking landscape. Thank you very much to the entire team—we look forward to visiting again!
