"How did it strike you on arrival?One of the oldest hotels in the country, JA Hatta Fort is an oasis in the desert. Just an hour outside of the city and set against the Al Hajar Mountains, the hotel is a quaint hideaway. Nice. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Spacious rooms have balconies with mountain views, and are surprisingly fresh and modern given the property's age. The decor is subtly Arabic-inspired, and rooms have charming white-beamed ceilings. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms are basic, with a walk-in shower and large tub, but, like the rooms, are spacious. Products are by Elemis. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The grounds are home to many different activities, all included: there's a six-hole mini-golf course, tennis courts, billiards, snooker, and air hockey among them.
