Clean atmosphere with authentic dumplings. Service was great! Ordered the veggie dumpling, pan fried shrimp and scallops and spicy chicken dumplings. They were all incredible. The teas were great too but a little sweet and sugary for my pallet. Rice cakes were delicious for dessert but next time I’m going to ask for the sweet (colored) sauces on the side. Definitely coming back and have already recommended it to friends. Really happy to have such a great dumpling house in the neighborhood 🥟🥟

Google
Jiaozi simply means dumplings, and the dumplings here solid and on point. I'm not even a fan of XLBs and I really like the ones here. The shrimp dumplings are my favorite! What I love about JA is that their portions are small (5 dumplings per basket) so you can order more varieties to try. The okra is really tasty too.

Google
We’ve dined here multiple times, with friends and family. Ordered for delivery as well countless times, good food with great service and dumplings being made in sight inside the restaurant. Green beans with xo sauce, the beef skewers and the spicy dumplings on top of the braised pork belly and shrimp friend rice with bonito flakes are my go to. These pictures sums up with my favorite orders. Pretty good portion for the buck!

Great service , good prices. The flaming hot was good , tofu and cabbage was equally delicious. The mushroom beef and chow mein also met our expectations.

Located on the East side of The Market Place and Jamboree, just north of the freeway. They’re in the shopping center so there is plenty of parking. They’re have both indoor and outdoor seating. Majority of the food we ordered was very good. We stopped in for a late lunch. Everything came out pretty quickly. Service was good, but it could be a little better. Tables are a bit close to each for my liking, I don’t need to hear someone else’s conversation. Prices were decent, but the serving sizes were on the small side. The radish and cucumber salad wasn’t very Chinese. The bok choy was also a little bland, couldn’t even taste the garlic. The braised beef and pork belly were both excellent. The soup base of the xiao long bao was flavorful. I really recommend the scallop and shrimp dumplings though, the seafood was bursting with flavor and a very soft texture.

Google
Absolutely the best dumplings around. We had the #6, 7, 14, 15, 31 and 34. The flaming hot jiaozi (#15) and the spicy boneless chicken (#34) we're listed as being spicy, but they were not overly spicy. The flavor of the chilis was right on the money. You could taste the flavor without all the burning heat. We completely recommend coming here!

Google
First, the reason for an overall 4 stars. They were out of pork and scallop dumplings. Understandable but a bummer that cannot do a comparison to Din Tai Fung. Ended up ordering the shrimp fried rice, kurobuta beef dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and shrimp pan fried dumplings. And they do not disappoint. All are very flavorful. Broth inside the pan fried dumplings? Thats new. In a very good way. But the show stealer is their house sauce! Lined up along the soy sauce, chili oil, and vinegar. A sweet, tangy, vinegary taste that complement with the dumplings. Add a dash of chili oil for another level of flavor. In short, this place is not better than din tai fung, its a great alternative that offers a delish pan fried dumplings. YUMMM!

Google
Went for lunch. Dumplings are really delicious. I tried both steamed as well as the pan fried. I really liked the steamed ones. I also had a shrimp fried rice and that was also really good. Food did not feel heavy at all. Also tried a cold Sake which was smooth. Price is very reasonable. Service was fantastic. Ambiance is full of natural light and good decoration. Really happy to have stopped for lunch here.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me 7 years to finally try this place!! I had no idea it even existed, and now I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner. Everything about this restaurant is so thoughtful, from the food to the service even down to the takeout containers, and especially the way they treated our little one. We never expect restaurants to have anything kid-specific, so we always bring our toddler's own utensils since adult ones are too big and plastic ones are awkward for them to hold. But this place actually had real children's plates and utensils, and we were genuinely surprised and touched by how thoughtful that was. It made the experience feel so welcoming. The food was incredible. We ordered a whole spread: string beans, brussels sprouts, cucumber salad, fried rice, braised pork belly, crispy shrimp, chow mein, eggplant, and of course a variety of dumpling dishes. Every single dish was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Honestly, with how consistently delicious everything was, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. The decor is beautiful and calming, the space is spotless, and the staff is incredibly kind. We had such a great experience here, and this is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were in the area so we decided to check this place out. I got on the waitlist on the Yelp app which I'm glad I did because when I showed up, they were asking all the walk in people to use the waitlist. Since I was on the waitlist already, we didn't have to wait long to get seated. The decor is modern and I like how they used dumplings as part of their wall decoration. We really liked the xlb, it was big, juicy and flavorful! I only wish it came in a basket of more than 5 xlb at a time. The panfried kurobota pork and celery dumplings came out with a perfect layer of crispy skin. It was very tasty. We tried the speciality Flaming Hot Jiaozi which I thought was just ok. It had heat but didnt have much other flavor. Roasted Bone Marrow and Bun had good texture but could use a bit more seasoning maybe more salt and pepper. Overall the service is good and there is plenty of easy parking.

Yelp
Came here last night for take out on the way to my friend's. This being my first time here, it took me a few minutes to decide what would satisfy me and my partner's light dinner dumpling cravings. I also soaked in the clean, hippy interiors with the huge glass wall dividing the kitchen from the dining area - giving diners full view of the dumpling creation process. The colorful steamed Jiaozi Combo caught my attention and added the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao. My To Go order included napkins but no chopsticks, but luckily my friend keeps a stash in her kitchen. Two sauces: one chili for the bao and one soy for the dumplings in small containers was just right amount and pairs perfectly with its respective fare. After we consumed our authentic Jiaozi and Xiao long bao, we both agreed to go back there next time and eat a proper meal - lunch or dinner. Constructive comment: Add a bigger size trash can in the restroom so the paper towels don't overflow from the dispenser catch and people don't just drop it on the floor. Other than that, it's clean and designed handsomely.

Yelp
Waiting for Din Tai Feng to open in the spectrum and we wanted dumplings, so we decided to give JA Jiaozi and try, and we are so glad we did! First the place is beautiful and the window with the dumpling cooks is awesome. We had Chris as our waiter and he was so polite and helpful. We ordered the okra salad and the pickled radish and cucumber salad. Both different sauces, I loved the okra sauce, the other was more of a soy. We ordered two orders of Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao (5pcs), we loved them! We also ordered Beef Fried Rice with Mushroom, Chicken Chow Mein and Stir-Fried String Beans with XO Sauce. The green beans were perfect! The chow mein had egg that was cooked to perfection. There was a heated discussion around how good the dumplings were!

Yelp
Yummy place! Service was fast when we came in a weeknight, and they have a great variety of dumplings on the menu. Loved the combo with the different colored dumplings! It was a delicious sampler AND fun. Was a good spot for a date night, but would be perfect for a group of friends as well. I can't wait to go back here and try more!!

Yelp
First time here with my hubby, son and his girlfriend. We ordered several items. For starters we ordered the dumpling samplers that presented different types of flavored dumplings. The servings are good for two, quite small in quantity, 3 might be pushing it a bit so you would end up ordering more (small) dishes. It's flavorful especially the chicken chow mein. Most dishes are marked as spicy so be mindful of that if you don't like hot, spicy food. Ambience is giving Chinese restaurant feels but of a modern set up. Server was attentive and explained some of the dishes.

Yelp
I have been sleeping on JA Jiaozi. I feel like I bookmarked this ages ago but a girls night finally pushed me to actually make it here. We arrived and used Yelp Waitlist to check in but honestly we only waited a few minutes before we were seated. There are so many options here! We had a vegetarian in our group too and I was impressed with how many yummy veggie options there were, not just one basic veggie dumpling. I also loved how aesthetic everything was. We got a smattering of dumplings and everything was delicious! My favorite was the pork ones with chili oil. I also got a black sesame dumpling for dessert which was delicious! I also started off with the citrus blossom tea which is not to be missed. It comes in this beautiful mug and is such a perfectly cozy pairing with the dumplings.

Yelp
Food was good! I liked the beef dumplings and the XO green beans. Wasn't a big fan of the scallop and shrimp dumplings. Service was quick and the restaurant was nice. Would come back again and convenient.

Yelp
OMG, love. We went here for my birthday. They were so kind to even bring dessert ! If you're a fan of dumplings like the very well known one (you know which place I mean), then look no further than giving this place a try. You'll love that it's low key, welcoming, small, you won't wait forever (there may be a little wait) and the food is amazing. Started with the okra salad, and it has a special sweet, smoky, soy kind of taste. I don't know what the secret is, but it's delicious, crisp, and fresh to go with your hot dumplings. We also got the smashed cucumber salad - also crispy, fresh, and a nice contrast to the delicate dumplings. My hubby and I each got the dumpling sampler to start. Each one was tender, flavourful, a delicate flavour explosion in the mouth. Unlike a sampler I've had before, I can tell you that ALL of them were fantastic. You can't go wrong with the pork xiao long bao. A hot burst of liquid, almost too painfully hot to eat when they come out, but you just can't resist. Service is great too. Definitely plan on waiting a little bit if it's a busy time. It will be worth the wait. Love that you can see them making them in real time with the utmost precision, made to order.

Yelp
Heard about this restaurant from a friend. We came here to celebrate a cousins bday . Plenty of parking around the restaurant. Go inside and get on the waiting list. I had called and made reservations prior to,so I just checked in on the pad. They sat us before the rest of our party arrived which was good because it gave us the chance to look over the menu and decide what to order . Drink menu is awesome . * Hokkaido milk tea is the popular drink. So many dishes to choose from! Dumplings are either steamed or pan fried . We ordered a variety of dishes and all were very good . Mapo tofu was a bit heavy on the chili oil, but still good. ( I just ate more white rice with it.) All the dishes with truffles in it were great . My daughter especially enjoyed the bone marrow with bun dish. Hubby liked the sweet and sour fish a lot. There was a cold okra dish that was unique and delicious as well. Kids who dine here have a nice kids menu. They have high chairs if needed. Children friendly plate settings are available too. Service was good and plates were cleared efficiently. We didn't feel rushed and will definitely come back again .

Yelp
This place never disappoints!! Ordered kids meal and chicken mushroom dumplings!! That's one of my favorites and the ice cream was delicious!!

Yelp
This is my favorite dumpling place in Irvine! I always order the stir-fried green beans and the crispy shrimp, and they never disappoint. The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. It's also fun to watch them making the dumplings right in front of you. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here in a double date with my in-laws and we really appreciated the service. Both people who took care of us were super nice and made great recommendations. The dumplings were delicious, the menu was very diverse. I also got a Thai tea and it's the best I've ever had! You can also watch the dumplings being made if you're lucky enough to be seated by the station. Overall, we had a great time talking and dining here.
google avatar

Yelp
Ate here for lunch! Food was perfectly seasoned and savory! Their eggplant dish was very tasty and had crunchy roasted potatoes mixed in it. The dumplings were delicious. The fried rice and the chow mein were pretty good as well. Wished they'd add more to their soup menu (e.g., rice or wonton soup). Service was exceptional! Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for groups and families! Will definitely come back for more!

Yelp
Food****// more like a 3.5 but I rounded up, pot stickers were delicious as well as the appetizer but fried rice were mediocre Service****// service was really good with smiles on servers faces. They stop by asking for water refills or quality of food Ambiance****// nice, clean and modern design unlike other Chinese restaurants. They have many small tables for lunch group which is smart

Yelp
If you're looking for something similar to Din tai fung but don't want to wait 2hrs, come here! They offer a variety of jiaozi which they make in house! We ordered a bunch of dishes, but my favorite had to be the pan fried shrimp jiaozi with the skirt. The food was well seasoned and delicious! And the best part was we only waited about 10mins to be seated on a Friday evening. :)

Yelp
I saw a Realtor on IG TinasellsOC come and try this place and it looked so delicious so I thought I would come and try it too!... SONG OF THE DAY to play along with this YELP REVIEW : HEAVEN by Bryan Adams STRING BEANS: 10/10 A simple but very DELICIOUS dish! At first, I thought it was salty but it balanced out consumed with RICE. When it came out I was thinking: Strings beans you're all that I need when I'm dining here at JA Jiaozi. It isn't so hard to see we're in HEAVEN! PAN FRIED DUMPLINGS: 10/10 STAR OF THE SHOW! It is definitely thicker and juicier than Din Tai Fungs. They are both good in different ways. This one is for those who enjoy a thicker and meatier batter while Din Tai Fung Is thinner and flakier! ANGUS BEEF WITH MUSHROOMS:9/10 Very good but, didn't stand out as much as the other dishes. CRISPY SHRIMP: 8/10 I should have asked for the sauce on the side because the shrimp was not crispy. Lotus of Siam Crispy Prawns in Las Vegas was the quality I was hoping to find. PARKING: PLENTY SERVICE: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ They kept checking on us every few minutes to see if everything was ok. They also took out plates right away when it was empty. ROCK ON JA JIAOZI!!!!!!!!

Yelp
We've been wanting to try this and I'm so glad we finally did! It's a little fancier than I thought it was going to be; the place itself is cute and aesthetic. The service was very good. We ordered a lot of little plates, and they were all delicious. Our favorite was the spicy dumplings. Quality of the food was good, but portions are on the smaller side. I'm not complaining though because that just means you get to try more things! I'll be back!

Yelp
A Beijing China favorite for many tourists and locals here in Beautiful Irvine California. JA Jiaozi has all the right ingredients for fresh handmade dumplings and delicious noodles dishes. Their fried rice with succulent shrimp is divine and not too greasy or salty. Just the balance of flavors to entice your taste buds tonight. I arrived here at 5pm and was promptly seated at my favorite table. I normally just order simple dishes to test their culinary skills and JA Jiaozi has passed with flying colors of the rainbow. Highly recommend this new restaurant because authentic Beijing cuisine and artistry is hard to find since most would be at South Coast Plaza for the other dumplings house in Costa Mesa. However JA Jiaozi is definitely worth the drive for your comfort zone to venture outside the box. Enjoy and breathe in the sweetness of life today.

Yelp
Wow! What a treat to have dinner here with friends. Everything was so tasty, the beef dish was a standout, along with the eggplant and the truffle dumplings. The cucumber radish salad was super refreshing and had the perfect crunch. This was my first time straying from my usual crispy shrimp order, and I'm glad I did, most of the new items were amazing! The only miss was the shrimp and scallop dumplings, which lacked flavor and could use a little seasoning. Not terrible, just not up to the same standard. This was my third visit, and I'll definitely be back again. Shoutout to our sweet server with glasses, her humor and kindness made the night even better! Very clean and esthetically pleasing place and vibe.

Yelp
Got takeout on a Saturday during the lunch rush. There was a 1hr wait but since we ordered and picked up our food there was no wait. Angus Beef Dumplings 3/5: The beef was a bit tough and kinda tasted like a hamburger patty in a dumpling wrap Chicken mushroom dumplings 5/5: This was the best of the dumplings we ordered. It was super umami and delicious The xlb (i think the signature?) 4/5: Pretty standard Mapo tofu 3/5: The tofu was seasoned purely with the chili oil. Besides the taste of the chili oil, it had no flavor. Plum braised pork belly 5/5: I gave it mor points for being unique and having pickled plums. The flavor was good but the meat could be a little softer. Chili tofu skin salad 5/5: You cant really go wrong with this. Overall, the portions are a bit small. My family eats less so it was enough for us but probably wont be enough for others. I think if I waited 1-1.5hrs to eat this, it would have been more like a 3 star review but since I didn't have to wait its more of a 3.5 star. It's a decent place to eat at, but I probably wouldn't go back though.

Yelp
After a 20 minute wait to be seated on Memorial Day Monday for lunch, here's what we ordered: Okra in Seasoned Dressing - fresh okra in a soy vinagrette, if you love okra, then get this unique dish Steamed Jiaozi Combo - thin skinned, different fillings depending on color, see photo for details JA Signature Xiao Long Bao - I'm not a dried shrimp fan, but the rest of my party enjoyed this dish Plum Braised Pork Belly - good flavor, not as melt-in-your-mouth as I would have hoped Fried Eggplant with Sweet & Sour Sauce - my favorite, this dish comes with a surprise in the form of fried potatoes, included is the most tender and fragrant bowl of jasmine rice I've ever had Birthday Girl Vanilla Ice Cream - really good ice cream The next time I visit, I will definitely try the pan-fried Jiaozi with it's pretty lacy skirt, and more of the house specialties like: Honey Black Pepper Angus Beef, Sweet & Sour Fish Filet, and Stir-Fried Green Beans with XO Sauce. When the XLBs were placed on the table, there was no accompanying ginger or sauce. After asking our server for some ginger and sauce, he brought a condiment caddy which included the JA special sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, and chili sauce and a dish of shredded ginger. Our server was attentive and accommodating.

Yelp
Elegance and Chinese food often seem Yin and Yang - they often don't mix ! But this place is an exception! Great ambiance, superb service, beautiful utensils, and exquisite food! How's that for a new Chinese food experience? To be fair, we came on a Wednesday night so it might not be as pleasant on weekends. But parking was great as they are in a large complex with many restaurants so lots of free parking - and they are right next to the 5 Fwy. We ordered there (at this writing) $56 special combo - which was a great deal and for two and we took home enough for almost another meal. The dumplings were very juicy and tasty- no less than Din Tai Feng's. The braised pork was nicely done with slightly crispy skin and tender center. Loved their rice! Fluffy, fragrant, and fulfilling! I'd come back just for that!

Yelp
It's a nice place in Irvine for dumplings! It has a nice interior and good food. The server was nice and did his best. They were probably short staffed when we went. Two servers in the afternoon. We did order a handful. Some items was never brought out, but it was resolved by the time we left. Things happen. So that's fine. Keep it up though. The dumplings were good and fair price
google avatar

Anthony D.

Yelp
A nice and modern interior with very fair prices, we had a great meal overall at JA Jiaozi! Service was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal. We went on a Saturday (mother's day weekend) around opening and were able to be seated immediately. However by the time we left, it was packed with some parties waiting. The okra appetizer was lightly seasoned, chilled, and overall a simple but fantastic starter. I loved the crunch and flavor of the okra. The dumpling skin salad was unique and had a sesame-spice flavor to it. The Pork XLB were giant and super liquidy! The soup inside was very flavorful and I really enjoyed it. The pan-fried jiaozi were also excellent. I loved the crispy edges and the flavor was also spot-on. One of my favorite dishes was the Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet! They were lightly crisped and had such a soft and tender interior. They were able to make the Mapo Tofu vegetarian which we really appreciated. Both the Mapo Tofu and the Chicken Chow Mein were good, but the other dishes I did enjoy more.

Yelp
Nice, quiet place to eat without a wait. Seated in 5 minutes and the staff was attentive and friendly and gave good food recommendations. favorite dishes: radish and cucumber salad, okra salad, plum pork belly & black pepper beef & bone marrow w bun. Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Pros: - Servers were very very nice - Veggie Chow Mein Noodles were delicious - Their Signature Sauce at the table was so tasty I drank it straight - Food was fresh AND served quickly Cons: - Although there were many open/empty tables, we waited a very long time (30 min) to be seated - Soup dumplings were very one note in terms of flavor - Pan fried chicken dumplings lacked flavor - Truffle steamed dumplings lacked even more flavor considering they were supposed to be truffle

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and joined the waitlist using Yelp check-in to beat the crowd--but the evening started off on the wrong foot. Even though we were already checked in, the host/server didn't acknowledge us for over 10 minutes, instead focusing on her phone and inputting whatever into the POS system in front of us.. Four tables were open, yet she gave no explanation for the delay. To make matters worse, a couple walked in moments later and she greeted them right away. That left a sour first impression, and I was glad she wasn't the one serving us. After another 5 minutes (after I confronted her to acknowledge us), we were seated in the modern, upscale dining area--right in front of the dumpling-making station (which we joked might have been worth the wait)--things improved dramatically. Our actual server provided excellent service, checking on us regularly and making the meal relaxing. What we tried: * Xiao Long Bao - Perfect skin texture and thickness, holding all the soup inside. Didn't even need sauce. We ordered three rounds since the kids devoured them like candy. * Pan-Fried Scallops & Shrimp Jiaozi - Juicy on the inside, crispy on the bottom. Dipped in the signature sauce, it was spot-on. * Shrimp Chow Mein - Made with thinner egg noodles than usual, which gave the dish a lighter, slightly sweet profile. Skipped the onions, and it still worked perfectly for our taste. * Plums Braised Pork Belly with Rice - Flavorful sauce that mixed beautifully with the rice, but the pork itself was dry and tough. The kids usually love this dish but skipped it this time, likely due to the texture. * Tofu Skin Shrimp Roll - Exactly as described: two large, well-cooked prawns wrapped in crispy tofu skin. The sauce helped tone down the white pepper kick, though not as kid-friendly. * Okra with Dressed Seasoning - Refreshing and presented in a way that made it easy to grab and dip for a perfect bite-sized snack. Aside from the rocky start, the service at our table was excellent, and the food quality--especially the dumplings--was impressive. Just hope the front-of-house experience matches the kitchen next time.

Yelp
Since this place opened a while back I've heard very mixed reviews, although mostly it was in terms of value. I wanted to find out for myself so I ordered takeout of their popular items. I got two orders of the Steamed Jiaozi Combo and was pleasantly surprised. It included a Chicken with Carrot Jiaozi Skin (orange), Shrimp & Scallop with Regular Jiaozi Skin (classic), Angus Beef with Cuttlefish Sauce Jiaozi Skin (black), Veggie with Spinach Jiaozi Skin (green), and Pork with Beets Jiaozi Skin (red). The dumplings felt quite substantial and I found myself pretty full after eating 6 dumplings. Chicken with Carrot Jiaozi Skin (orange) - This had chicken and mushroom in it and was probably one of my favorites. The chili sauce compliments this particular dumpling very well. Shrimp & Scallop with Regular Jiaozi Skin (classic) - This one is good if you are a fan of seafood. If you're not, I would avoid it because it's definitely got that strong seafood-y flavor. Angus Beef with Cuttlefish Sauce Jiaozi Skin (black) - This one is also very good. I rarely come across beef dumplings, let alone angus beef. It's super savory and also is perfect with a bit of chili oil. Veggie with Spinach Jiaozi Skin (green) - This one surprised me because I didn't expect too much of it. There were some diced tofu pieces along with veggies. It was overall quite flavorful for a veggie dumpling. A great vegetarian option. Pork with Beets Jiaozi Skin (red) - This one is very classic in flavor but still very good. The way they steam their dumplings traps all the brothy flavors in the dumplings. All in all, I'm a fan and am curious to dine in next time to get a full experience for the ambiance and service. I have heard it can get busy at times but the restaurant itself seems like a good size so I would imagine getting seated by staff shouldn't be too much trouble. I also want to try some of their other menu items that aren't dumplings. A quick note, if you do order takeout, I highly recommend getting the condiments. They really transform the flavors of the dumplings. I'm not a big spicy eater and I was able to do the chili oil so give that a try if you're curious.

Yelp
So good! I would order everything we got again: the Hot chili specialty dumplings, the Xiaolongbao, the shrimp chive steamed potstickers & the beef & mushroom rice. The rice really surprised us. That I highly recommend. The space was super clean, open & service was fast. I loved the hot chili flavor, but soup dumplings will always be my favorite. We immediately agreed that we need to come back & try more of the menu because the other tables orders also looked great! Come try this place out!

Yelp
I came to try them out during restaurant week so I was able to have an assortment of plates. The food was great. I REALLY loved the okra salad and the steamed jiaozi combo. The black sesame dessert was a little too sweet... I feel like a cream/foam might take it down a notch? Service was excellent. Super fast and attentive. Restroom was pretty as well. I'm happy they have a Yelp waitlist!!
google avatar

Yelp
Arrived on a Froday night during OC Restaurant Week. We should have put ourselves on the Yelp waiting list before arriving, but did so when we arrived and waited around 45 minutes to be seated. The servers were very nice and attentive. The restaurant has kind of a small inside with outside seating, but they were not seating anyone outside. The food was good. The plum braised pork belly and tofu wrapped shrimp were probably my favorites.

Yelp
Food was meh and the server seemed sweet and maybe new but when I sent back on item as it was like I was a nuisance ... I took my mother here on her bday and the server just seemed pissed off I tipped them 14%... and tried to make me feel like crap. I work in service industry and I do not get paid hourly or salary.... the server told us at the beginning of the meal my moms bday dessert was complimentary and as the meal continued on she seemed upset with us... I had to remind them for my mothers bday dessert. The server just kept acting as if I was a nuisance... after she handed me the check I chose to tip 14% and that's my perogative.

Think you love Din Tai Fung? Think again! This hidden gem in Tustin Marketplace has some of the best dumplings you'll ever have, and in such a lovely, clean restaurant. I can't believe people wait hours for Din Tai Fung when this spot is way better and way less crowded. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, and watching them make the food right in front of you is such a treat. Absolutely love this place!

Yelp
Wow wow wow! Flavor town is here!! Amazing and super tasty dumplings!! The broth in their soup dumplings is savory and delicious! Yummy Thai tea as well and the staff are very professional and friendly and very helpful in taking their time to explain the menu and the inside of the restaurant is beautiful. Would definitely come back, great dining experience.

Yelp
We've dined here multiple times, with friends and family. Ordered for delivery as well countless times, good food with great service and warm ambience with dumplings being made in sight inside the restaurant. Green beans with xo sauce, the beef skewers and the spicy dumplings on top of the braised pork belly and shrimp friend rice with bonito flakes are my go to. These pictures sums up with my favorite orders. Pretty good portion for the buck!

Yelp
Amazing! From the service to the food, absolutely amazing!! I have been there twice now and I love their fried rice with Shrimp! Their green tea with sugar or whatever sweetener is the best tasting one I have tasted. It's a subtle sweetness that adds on to the taste. Highly also recommend their hot and sour soup, it feels like my mom made it.

Yelp
My family loves JA Jiaozi. They offer a wide selection of different types of dumplings and other Chinese dishes. We usually get the combo and it's the perfect amount of food for us. My favorite dish here is the tofu skin salad. Service here is amazing! Whether we eat in or get take out, service is always very quick and friendly.

Yelp
This is my third favourite dumpling restaurant in the LA/OC area! Came to try it because a friend recommended it - did not disappoint. We tried a variety of things on the menu per recommendation from our server, Evan. (Shoutout to Evan by the way for being amazing, attentive, and super chill!) We highly recommend the steamed shrimp Jiaozi, stringed beans, and xiao long bao. The portion size is slightly larger than din tai fung, but honestly, it was so delicious. We also love that it's not salty! We cannot wait to go back for more! Come here for Chinese comfort food with excellent service and really good chili oil. Ask for Evan if you want that spot on service!

Yelp
We visited at 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and were some of the first customers of the evening. Elegant plates and decor! The green tea was great with a strong floral scent but a typical green tea taste. It was served in an attractive stoneware mug with a striking wooden handle but did cost $6. They could have provided a side plate to hold the used teabag and offered a refill of hot water. Each teabag was huge, so my wife took hers home and reused it the next day! Liked the Peking duck pancakes appetizer: six thin pancakes each with a slice of duck. Minor glitch in service: we received the appetizer shortly after our entrees. Otherwise, the service was good, and friendly. Oddly, the dumpling entrées offered ten steamed dumplings or five fried dumplings for about the same price. One of us had ten chicken and mushroom steamed dumplings, the other had five pan-fried Kurobuta pork and celery dumplings. Great dumplings! The house specialty dipping sauce was quite good.

Yelp
Delicious food, trendy vibes, and great service. Easy five star rating. My family are huge dumplings fans even though I'm not so much. But I do love asian cuisine and always enjoy non-dumpling items on the menu. This restaurant did not disappoint. While my family raved about the delicious dumplings they scarfed down, I was enjoying the Crispy Shrimp (my fav!), Chow Mein, and Green Beans. Everything came out fast, smoking hot, and by friendly servers. We're all looking forward to going back very soon!

Yelp
Our third time here - we have been so impressed with their dishes each time. The dumplings are excellent - we've been happy with each one, I think we have tried them all. Their fried rice and the vegetable dishes are also something to come back for. The eggplant and the green beans are super good.

Yelp
The waitlist was simple and easy, with food and service extremely quick. The JA special house milk tea (24oz) was not only a gigantic portion but incredibly delicious even with the option to use non-dairy creamer. The dumplings were all decent, along with the beef skewers. The string green beans were very tasty and would definitely get again. The ambiance was very comfortable and fitting for families!

Yelp
Very good dumpling place with an assortment of different dishes. I would recommend if you are looking to eat somewhere with a group of folks so that you can order a variety of food! There's options for everyone with different preferences. I saw the comparisons to din tai fung but feel both have different dishes and one isn't a replacement for the other. I will say though if you are wanting dumplings or Asian food but want to skip out on a wait, this is a good option outside of din tai fung. We ordered multiple different dumplings and they all tasted great with the right portion of filling to dough. They also had some great meat dishes with the roast duck as well as this one blackened pork dish. The prices were reasonable and didn't feel like we broke the bank after having a nice meal with family. The service was also good and restaurant was clean!

Yelp
Loved the food! This might be another one of our new current favorite dumpling spots. We had the plum braised pork belly, fried rice, steamed Jiaozi combo, pan fried dumplings, and the stir fried egg plant! Staff was quick and it was a small cute casual spot. We went on a Friday and it wasn't as busy as I thought.

Yelp
JA Jiaozi dumplings is one of those locations that you cannot sleep on ! This hidden gem is located in Irvine in a large shopping center . Even though the shopping center is fairly large it can sometimes be difficult finding parking so be aware but it's not that bad . The ambiance is upscale trendy Good place to take your significant other . This is my wife's and mine go to spot ! The service is impeccable! They are helpful and friendly ! The food tbh you cannot really go wrong with anything here everything is fresh and you could taste it right away ! Overall this is a must try spot if your around the area !

Yelp
We are always down to try out a new Chinese spot, which is certainly not challenging to find in Irvine. Jiaozi has over a 1000 reviews and a modest 4.1 average score, so we though...why not? This restaurant obviously ships dumplings as their primary focus, but they do also have other offerings like protein dishes, fried rice, etc. Overall all the food was good. Nothing mind-blowing, but everything we ordered was decently tasty. But where I'm going to have to dock off major points is the price... I'm sorry, but if our bill is higher than what it would be at Din Tai Fung, then the offerings better be spectacular. And they are sadly not. $14 for their 10-count signature boiled dumplings (these were not even that great!) $11 for 5 piece multicolor dumplings $17 for sweet&sour fish (best dish I think, but still overpriced) $19 for the beef with mushroom And the greatest sleight of them all? $3 for a tiny bowl of rice! Criminal. Hey, if you don't care about splurging for dinner, and this place is conveniently located near you, then I can understand. But otherwise, you can probably find better options.
