"Suburban Texan comfort food restaurant Jack Allen’s Kitchen quietly opened its fifth location in Cedar Park in early October. Super thrilled with our accidental breakfast choice this morning. We were going somewhere else, but they were packed so ended up at Jack Allen's Kitchen. Great food. The coleslaw with the catfish...oh man....we could have eaten an entire plate of it! The music was perfect and not played so loud it overtook the ability to have conversations. When you go, ask for Amanda! So delightful and attentive. She gave great food suggestions that were spot on. This is a definite do again.

We absolutely love this place - this review is long overdue.. We have tried nearly everything on menu...the food is delicious here! Our favorite is the Catfish appetizer and the salads (Buttermilk Chicken is amazing). 3 Spice pasta, all hand-helds, and Kids menu are all simply delicious. The staff is extremely attentive, especially when there is large crowds! Every visit to this restaurant has been amazing...everytime we come to Cedar Park, we make it a priority to come here (we're from DFW, TX).

As usual, this place was wonderful! My first time at this location and it didn’t disappoint. There was a short wait as we had a larger group. The food was great the atmosphere was warm and our server was amazing! Thank you Kayla for putting up with our family 🥰

Google
Wow so this place was extraordinary not because it has my last name ( which I did ask for a discount because of it) lol you would have too but it didn't work😜 The environment was really chill and laid back there were drink recipes on the walls and a big picture of Johnny Cash lol which on of my grandsons thought he was someone off of batman😂 Our waitress was very thorough explaining the menu and she brought out a complimentary taste of there house made pimento cheese and flatbread crackers.😊 It tasted Ok because we jacked those things up😁 my husband ordered barbacoa stackers, and they were really good. My husband, my stepson, and my two grandsons and I floored those stackers.😋 My husband ordered the slow brazed beef Barbacoa and enchiladas. My stepson ordered the chicken fries steak with their mixed vegetables. One of my grandson's ordered a hamburger, and mixed vegetables and the other ordered chicken fingers and mixed vegetables, and I ordered the catfish with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. We smashed everything🤫 Very nice environment. Thank you to the hottest Anna she was very sweet 🤗 Until next time, Love the Allen's✌️🫶👊

Google
Everything was pretty good. I ordered the horseradish salmon and I really liked it. The potato cake was really good too. Only thing was we also ordered a steak that was pretty pricey, the steak and pimento potatoes were good but the veggies were a bit subpar - same veggies that came with the salmon. The bartender was very attentive and made great suggestions. We sat at the bar so there was no wait and we got a free appetizer. The seasonal cobbler was really good as well.

Google
What a great restaurant chain :-) Overall, I felt the food is too salty, as we can always add salt but we can never take it away. I decided to sit at the patio since it was so nice outside yesterday and I see this truck finishing it's drop off. Thank you Jack Allen's for remaining true to quality! I promise we are not mad if something is suddenly out of stock:-) definitely grateful for quality over quantity, always! Oh! Add a tad bit of local honey into the blueberry lemonade 😉 And many thanks to having Amalia on board! We have an excellent manager, here 👍

Google
It’s been a while since we’ve been to Jack Allen’s, but we always enjoyed the food. This is our first time at the Cedar Park location. The place is nice and clean and has a rustic look and feel. Checking out the menu, everything under ‘starters’ sounded delicious, but we only ordered the pimento and cheese and the fried pickles. Both were very good. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and the first two bites of the sandwich were great, but I felt the rest of the sandwich after the initial taste was just OK. The sweet potato fries were amazing. The kids had a quesadilla, which was OK and another one had the mac & cheese which they didn’t like. For drinks we ordered the breaking bad margarita, which was excellent. We also ordered the cucumber jalapeño margarita and that was really good. The Customer Service was pretty good and our server checked in on us occasionally. Overall, a thumbs up for this visit.

Yelp
We had reservations at 6pm on a Saturday night, was sat within 10 minutes since we were slightly early. Sophie immediately came to our table to provide menus and took drink orders. Husband had an IPA and I, a pomegranate sangria margarita. Not as tasty as I remembered, but still good. Ordered the crab dip appetizer, the fish and chip entree that was cooked to perfection and the Texas coast crispy fried shrimp also cooked to perfection, and not overly seasoned. The food was outstanding than I remembered, more so. Will definitely be back for other menu selections! Thank you

Yelp
Well, this is what I am talking about! Hostess super friendly, waitress was fabulous! Knowledgeable of the entire menu and details of preparation of dishes, so honest about everything and totally charismatic and so caring! OMG! There are out there still! Hard to find someone so professional and on top of everything in any aspect! Matty! You did amazingly great! Thank you so much! Can't wait to bring friends and family over! Food was very good! They know what they are doing and the dessert was delicious! Great recommendation by Matty and thank you again! Found my new favorite place! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You rock! Truly yours, Eddie Merrem

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time here! Food was excellent! Especially the pimento cheese! This is a MUST try! I'm pretty picky when it comes to my pimento cheese, I loved my mother's and I rarely come across someone else's recipe that I like! Service was great! Our waitress was kind, friendly and full of suggestions. The restaurant was full, but quiet and also clean! I had the soup of the day, Poblano chicken was tasted amazing! Homemade and fresh! We tried the biscuits and while we did like them, they were a little too heavy. The kids cheeseburger was very tasty and the fries were nice and crispy on the outside! Also had the Barbados enchiladas and enjoyed every bite! The Migas were also enjoyed! I had the mango habanero margarita, the bartender was a heavy pourer and made this drink EXACTLY the way I like it! Jack Allen's Kitchen did not disappoint and we can wait to go back!

Yelp
This place was quite tasty! We were seated right when we walked in and were served by a girl who was filling in for our very busy server. We started off with water and then our real server greeted us. The ambiance was great, perfect music volume and songs. Our server made suggestions I was not so crazy about aka Fish and I decided not to get that. Instead, we ordered the steak queso fajitas and some appetizers and they were great!

Yelp
Jack Allen's Kitchen in Cedar Park was overall a pretty good experience! My friends and I went during the weekend and there was no wait for a table. The restaraunt was very spacious and clean and had professional and attentive servers who gave great recommendations. I had the gumbo and Cajun pork. The gumbo was spicy and delicious, and the Cajun pork was tasty, but a little bland. I would order a different item the next time I visit, but I would definitely visit again!

Yelp
Let me just start off with saying that we received amazing service here! Our server was super friendly and patiently explained the menu with us. We opted for the chicken fried steak which I thought was a bit too chewy of a texture for me (not as crunchy as I'd prefer) but still a wholesome meal with the mash and cooked veggie sides. The fat jack burger was what stole the show! thick meaty patty with a yummy kick from the jalapeño mayonnaise & hickory sauce. My favorite plate- dare I say was the dessert. It was a nice little surprise. The apple cobbler was warm, cinnamony, with the sweet crunchy candied pecans and streusel. The vanilla bean ice cream really pulled it all together. I would literally come back just for the cobbler! This place is a great for bigger parties, plenty of parking and lively interior. They also have a bar area great for watching games and grabbing a bite.

Yelp
What a nice surprise to find this place during our stay near Austin. Don't let the name fool you, the food is amazing. It is freshly prepared with some interesting combination of flavors. The descriptions will make your mouth water just from reading the menu. Oh, the pork dish and crab stuff chicken were off the chart. Their cheese appetizer with barbacoa to start off was the right choice. Overall, many of the selections were more upscale, although the prices were beyond fair. Service was friendly and the manager was thankful to hear about our experience and even convinced us to top off the meal with the Carmel apple bourbon cobbler served in a skillet and topped with ice cream. We finished it too fast for a picture but the memory lives on in my taste buds. The inside seating is comfortable, causal and relaxing. This is definitely not the franchise type of restaurant that I thought I walked into. Try the selections off the special menu and you can thank me later.

Yelp
Sweet today for brunch as the significant other (SO) had a hankering for pancakes. Made a reservation for noon, and arrived around the same, and was promptly seated. I believe we were the only folks that day to make a reservation.... Great, great service, super friendly waitress and other team members. Nice ambience, didn't feel rushed and felt very welcome and comfortable. My significant had the Stacked buttermilk pancakes and ordered a side of bacon, which she declared was beyond perfect ( the bacon ). I had the Chicken and Biscuits. Both dishes were great, as were the smashed breakfast potatoes that came with my order. I could only eat half of my order, and brought the rest home. Collectively we devoured the pancakes. In addition, the So had a grapefruit mimosa which she loved. Very nice brunch on a Saturday, will return again! We also got a nice set of crackers with pimento cheese (yum) and ice of fruit to start. Yum! I need to work on my reviewing chops and photos! I went back in forth between Good and Great, but our experience was great, so there you have it.

Yelp
Food: 7 out of 10 Service: 7 out of 10 Atmosphere: 7 out of 10 It has been a long while since we were at Jack Allen location on Anderson Lane. Last night we thought we should try the one in Cedar Park It was 12/26, so they had a decent crowd. Looking at the menu and ambiance, I am surprised they are that busy. After we got our food, I think they are busy because their price range is decent for Cedar Park. Not too expensive. The chicken and vegetables soup, tasted so simple like it is made for someone who is sick at home. Not good. The sauce on my crusted salmon, was so gooey, it is not restaurant standard and quality. Not presentable. All just barely okay. All in all, I think we will keep going to Pappadeaux. High quality food, worth the price even though they are more expensive.

Yelp
The atmosphere was casual. There were Christmas decorations including a tree on display. The service was prompt and excellent including recommendstions. We got the wedgies salad minus the bacon. Really good. Excellent blue cheese. We got the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. Really good as well. Then the key lime pie to finish it off. Excellent crust and pie. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Yelp
Another great experience at Jack Allen's. I ordered the soup of the day with Tom's House Salad. Both were delicious and beautiful in the way it looks. My server, Elisabeth was outstanding. She took my order and came by to refresh my water a few times. She also asked about my day which makes me feel more like I belong then just a customer. Thank you Jack Allen's and Elisabeth!

Yelp
A great option for lunch or dinner if you want diversity of choices from shrimp to burgers to salads. I've never had a bad meal at Jack Allen's and have had very consistent service. A solid choice for a great meal

Yelp
Love Jack Allen's! Especially the 1/2 price appetizers during happy hour! Arriving at about 5:15 pm, the restaurant was fairly slow. The decor and staff are welcoming, so I always feel relaxed when I walk in the door. We had stopped by for a drink and an appetizer but when we learned of the 1/2 price apps and $1 off drinks, we ordered 2 apps (crunchy catfish and layered queso) plus 2 drinks (cucumber jalapeño margarita & prickly pear margaritas with jalapeño). Our server, Faith, was wonderful - friendly, helpful, cheerful and attentive. I love the complimentary pimento cheese and all the amazing foods. We shared the apple cobbler (WOW!!) and were so full we wobbled out the door!

Yelp
Service is great at this location! Met my friend for lunch and had the barbacoa quesadilla, and for my main course, the steak and arugula salad. I like this place because they keep updating the menu with new and local seasonal ingredients. I've never had a disappointment with this restaurant. Couldn't eat it all as usual, but I had a great time catching up with my friend over great food. Our waitress Erica was so nice and accommodating. She kept checking on us and was so very helpful. It's always good to come here!

Yelp
In town for the weekend and before heading back to Houston, we stopped in for some breakfast. I'm so glad we did. The restaurant was clean, they have plenty of parking and they are reasonably priced. Everything is locally sourced. The service and food were all spectacular. Our waiter Christain was very accommodating to our large party and gave excellent recommendations. He was very attentive and made the dining experience a pleasurable one. My friend and I split the breakfast sandwich and the chicken and biscuits. The biscuits were fluffy, and the chicken was fried to perfection and seasoned very well. The bun on the breakfast sandwich was toasted warm and super soft. Not pictured, but the silver dollar pancakes are sweet and fluffy and don't need syrup. For only $4 add them to your meal you won't be mad. Drinks Sangria margarita 10/10 Black cherry margarita 10/10 Both were delicious and strong. I'll be sure to stop back when I'm in town. My suggestions are to make reservations or get on the wait list

Yelp
Jack Allen was one our late pregnancy date spots before baby made an arrival. I like to eat, but especially then. I love to eat. The waitress was so good at describing the menu that I took the plunge and tried the Barbacoa Eggs Benedict dish. It was phenomenal and I had to thank her for being so convincing. We really enjoyed the taste twist that the dishes have to offer, as did everyone else enjoying their weekend meals! We hope to make it back.

Yelp
Was visiting Austin for a friend's baby shower and decided to brunch here with the gals. Distinctively remember loving the French toast (lemon ricotta). Honestly I feel it's one of the best ive had. But to be fair I don't do brunch a lot. My avocado toast to with eggs was perfect. The house potatoes are cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, squishy on the inside. Verrrry friendly service and great ambiance for a lazy Sunday afternoon brunch.

Yelp
JAK always provides friendly service and a nice atmosphere - casual but fairly upscale. On a nice day as sit on their patio, it isn't huge, but it has retractable shades that can be adjusted, depending on where the sun is. They are home to my favorite salad anywhere, the trout salad with goat cheese and pecans. They supplement it with some rice, which makes it hardy enough to be a filling meal. I rarely order anything else because I love it so much.

Yelp
We arrived 5P on a Sunday. No wait, plenty of parking. Still a busy restaurant. This is my second time coming to Jack Allen's. I love the made from scratch locally sourced menu. We were greeted immediately and had the option to choose our table. That is such a bonus for me! Our waiter Matt arrived within a minute of us sitting down. He took our drink order, highlighted the specials for the day which we ordered. We had a perfect high top table in the bar area. Matt was attentive, but gave us our privacy. Being raised in a Central American home. The fried cheese on the Birria short rib tacos was absolutely on point. The Fried Honey Siracha Chicken with the yummy Cole Slaw, both appetizers but plenty for a light dinner for two. Mexican Martinis were ok. My preference is always watch my martini being freshly made. Next time I shall walk up to the bar and watch them make it. All in all happy customers!!

Yelp
The best fried pork chop you will ever have! Period! There is no changing my mind! I stumbled upon Jack Allen's while visiting a few friends in Cedar Park. I'd never heard of Jack Allen's and wanted to try something different. My husband and I walked in and were seated within seconds. We joked with our waitress for a few minutes while she took our order. (The service is great) We both decided on the fried pork chop with a side of veggies and mashed potatoes. While we waited for our food, our waitress brought us a pimento cheese and cracker appetizer sample. It was so good. You definitely are left wanting more. Well played Jack Allen's, well played. Our food arrived after a few minutes. The first bite was so amazing I thought I heard Angels singing. It's that good. I don't know how they managed to get the perfect flavorful crispy bite on the outside and a juicy chop on the inside. I don't think I've ever eaten so fast. My husband and I barely spoke two words the entire meal. We both agreed that it was the best fried pork chop we had ever had. Thank you Jack Allen's! We will definitely be back!

Gwen G.

Yelp
Love this place!! The fried catfish appetizer is my favorite but everything else is good and tasty.

Jerry C.

Yelp
The food and staff here are wonderful! I have the dumbest food allergies (to nickel, which is in almost everything) and the staff went above and beyond in taking care of me, from the manager to the waitstaff-- everyone was incredibly friendly and made sure I was having a good time The food and drink being absolutely delicious are a good enough reason to come and check this place out if you haven't already, but the way the staff treats people really is top notch. I'd highly recommend eating here!
google avatar

Yelp
My family of 3 only waited about 10-15 minutes on a Friday night. That's very good for Cedar Park. This was our first visit and we heard good things. Theres plenty of parking in the big shopping center and around the restaurant. The staff was great. Our server was attentive. We each tried 3 different items and got the queso dip with salsa as an appetizer. It was tasty, delicious and fresh. Our entrees were great. I personally had the chicken fried chicken and the entire plate was easily taken care of. The service was also quick and a busy night and the venue itself is nice and lit, with a ranch/modern look. They serve Coke products at this location, I always find that it's good to note that. I would definitely recommend this location and I'll return now that I live a couple miles away.

Yelp
What a gem of a place! Everything from food to service to ambiance was off the charts fantastic! Special shout out to our server Summer who put in our happy hour order in time so we could enjoy the fantastic deals they had on Happy hour! My highlight was this habenero sauce! Ask for it! It is fantastic and that orange and green "vinaigrette" have the food the perfect kick!
google avatar

Roxy L.

Yelp
Food was excellent I had the chicken fried chicken with red mashed potatoes and steamed veggies served with a creamy gravy sauce. Service was good too our waitress was on top of our needs. The ambiance was nice farmhouse with modern decor as the sunset the lights dimmed in the restaurant very nice touch another restaurant that did that was back in LA...memories.

Yelp
Sooooo disappointed since this is our go-to place for occasions and it was our anniversary. One star only because after insisting they took the raw $45 sirloin steak off the bill. It was beyond gross!!! The first time it arrived - asked for medium rare- it was bloody draw inside and ice cold in the center. Thick line of gristle in the middle - yuck! The second time - it was the same piece of meat -but was well done on the outside and still somewhat raw - not rare inside. Inedible. Steak had already been cut so apparently the kitchen and the manager who brought it out 2x need to look at the food they are serving. The fact that it was a big deal to take it off the bill and I had to push the issue and they didn't offer is inexcusable. There were only @8 other guests in the restaurant. It wasn't like they were slammed. The other dinner was a meatloaf which was ok. Happy Anniversary to us!

Yelp
Great food that's reasonably priced. Staff is generally friendly with good service. Place can get crowded and there can be some ling wait times. However one can make reservations and you are normally seated within 5 minutes of your time. Inside is nice and I like the vibe. However when it's crowded, it can be loud which isn't my thing. Stuffed tenderloin is my favorite dish - absolutely awesome. Every food item has been considered at least great.

Yelp
I find this particular location of Jack Allen's especially wonderful. I appreciate the industrial farmhouse decor and overall ambiance. The restaurant is clean and tasteful. The service is fantastic! During our most recent visit, our waiter went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable for my family, especially my 4 year old. She brought her special coloring books and crayons to keep her occupied the whole time. She also patiently answered several questions and provided good recommendations. I ordered the fish tacos and highly recommend them! They are very flavorful and come with a side of super yummy rice, beans and slaw. My husband & dad ordered the Trout and enjoyed it very much. We've been for both brunch and dinner, and have thoroughly enjoyed both experiences! I recommend making a reservation in advance as it's a popular restaurant in Cedar Park!
google avatar

Yelp
You can tell the quality of freshness of all the ingredients at Jack Allen's. As soon as you walk in, there's wall decor of farms, fresh veggies, and cocktails reminding you that it's a farm to table! We made a reservation and we're promptly seated 10 minutes before. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and humorous. Things I recommend on the menu- 1. Avocado toast- the sourdough was perfect, the balsamic around the plate added a unique kick but wasn't overpowering. The pecans and feta balanced each other perfectly and who doesn't love a fried egg? Not pictured- 2. Buttermilk biscuits with strawberry butter 3. Cherry mimosa 4. Breakfast sandwich We'll definitely be back! I loved the atmosphere and food.

Yelp
I got the happy hour catfish to eat ( which is always good), a mango habanero margarita ( bomb ), and a chocolate torte for dessert. I dropped raspberry on my shirt, asked for a little soda water to try to dab it out- when Lisa ( bartender ) offered her Tide Togo pen for me to use. Little did she know, I was having a rough day and was on the verge of implosion. Her kind gesture literally made me stop and take a deep breath, and woosah. A little kindness goes a long way, and I definitely was in need of that today. Thank you so much, Lisa

Yelp
Great location with a nice date night atmosphere. The service was attentive and the food was good. The best, most surprising thing was it felt like their prices hadn't ballooned like every other place and the affordability was impressive.
google avatar

Karlyn K.

Yelp
I really like Jack Allen. They have several options and food is always fresh and plentiful. My personal favorite is their trout either the salad or the dinner. I recommend either. I really love their little pimento cheese starter, and frequently get the appetizer. It's ironic because I don't even really like pimento cheese. The staff here are always pleasant willing to explain anything. I recommend Jack Allen's without hesitation.
google avatar

Kristine T.

Yelp
First time eating here. Food are very tasty and service amazing Definitely will come back next time visiting Austin.
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
We had the spinach gorgonzola ravioli and crab-stuffed chicken and they were very savory! At the recommendation of our server Dillon, we got the mounds candy bar pie as dessert and it did not disappoint. It literally tasted like the candy bar. The service was really great and would highly recommend this restaurant location for anyone traveling through the Cedar Park area. As a sidenote, the decor and artwork is really interesting and original as well with a local artist having done most of it.
google avatar

Sapna L.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Went there around 11 ish on Mother's Day amidst heavy rains with my daughter. We sat at the bar as we didn't make reservations ahead. Impeccable service , food and drinks. That place gets busy and very family oriented so good to book ahead I ordered the eggs Benedict, and my daughter ordered the French toast. We got a nice picante cracker on the Each of the entrees had fresh cut fruit cup , Great place , if in the area will definitely try to visit again.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
The food is exceptional. I always get the pimento cheese appetizer, but everything is great. The service was impeccable (even suggesting special offerings. The restaurant was just perfect for a birthday celebration with my wife.

Yelp
Just another very satisfying dinner at Jack Allen's in Cedar Park. We seem to arrive at the shift change but our experience has been to start with a delightful server and finish with another delightful server. Drinks and dinner were perfect. Kudos to the entire management and staff.
google avatar

Tamie F.

Yelp
Jack Allen's has really good food. It's interesting and unique so you don't feel like you're eating at a chain. The biscuits were phenomenal and really made my brunch memorable. We took my in-laws from South Dakota there and they felt like they were getting an authentic Texas experience. The desserts really steal the show when they've got the best ones. If they have coconut cream pie when you go, get it for your appetizer and dessert! The service has always been good. The bartenders make good drinks. They are always super busy, so make reservations and enjoy!
google avatar

Kate R.

Yelp
Love Jack Allen's! They have the best Happy Hour food menu (honestly, I haven't even paid attention to what the HH drinks are so can't comment on that). I have never had anything I didn't like and I think I have probably tried a fair portion of their menu. Really good drinks too. Mango habanero and cucumber jalapeno margaritas with the spinach Gorgonzola raviolis for HH...yum
google avatar

Anastasia M.

Yelp
Excellent service. Had a great lunch, celebrated a birthday with a complimentary blondie dessert. Server was knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. Avocado toast was delicious
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
Still the best option for dinner in Cedar Park. Tried the Carne Guisada tacos and it's a new favorite...the meat has so much depth of flavor! Staff is ALWAYS great, and they don't skimp on alcohol.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
This place was hitting on all cylinders today! From the warm welcome to the tasty pimento cheese appetizer to the main courses (old fashioned burger and pesto crab stuffed chicken) the food was great! Topped that experience off with a white chocolate dessert and wrapped it all inside of outstanding service from Kaylee and you have a truly valued experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Ethan was amazing. Knowledgeable, attentive to even minor details. Happy hour prices are a great bargain

Ed F.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Knowledgeable servers and amazing flavor. Were great helping with food allergies.

Peggy W.

Yelp
The food has lessened in quality and portions. We won't be back unless things improve. It's become more of a bar than restaurant.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Food is always good every time I go whether dine in or Togo. Usually get the big jack burger and Barbacoa stackers.
google avatar

Talmage N Charity N.

Yelp
The food had good flavor but the quantity for the price was seriously lacking. I had the crab stuffed chicken and my husband had the fried pork chop. Didn't prefer the fried pickle spears though. The wait staff wasn't very good, they gave us the wrong check and only checked on us once after brining our food.

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Austin, and delighted they have a location in Cedar Park. The service is always good, food is consistent and delicious, and they always have off the menu specials each time we've gone in. This location is beautifully decorated, and there is ample seating all over the restaurant. Favorite menu items include the Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Chicken (Classics!), Crab Stuffed Chicken, and the Carne Guisada Tacos. Don't forget to try out the house made pimento cheese-it's incredible. Remember the old hot sauce commercial when the granny says "I put that *** on everything?" Yea-that's what I do with Jack Allen's pimento cheese-it's that good . JA is also a great location to do a business lunch, or take friends/family out to eat. There's something on the menu for everyone, even those who are GF. Looking forward to coming back!
