5 Destination Tennessee Distilleries

"From Sinatra and the Stones to Slash and Springsteen, the most famous Tennessee whiskey brand in the world needs no introduction. Jack Daniel’s home of Lynchburg, Tennessee, (population: 6,000) is a soft start to the distillery experience, with small-town Southern hospitality and the company’s family-style Miss Mary Bobo's Restaurant off the square. Tours of the property itself, which dates back to 1875, allow for sipping and gawking at a century and a half of memorabilia. Surrounding Moore County may be dry, but Daniel’s has a special dispensation to sell from its White Rabbit Bottle Shop." - Jon Gugala

"The charming little town of Lynchburg is home to Jack Daniel, the most famous distillery in all of Tennessee . Take a quick stroll around the town square before crossing a short bridge, which will lead you over a creek that flows from the same spring that provides fresh water for Jack Daniel’s delicious whiskey. Upon arrival at the distillery, you’ll find a modern visitor center where you can learn about the history of Jack Daniel’s as well as the process of making Tennessee whiskey, including the extra step of charcoal mellowing that differentiates it from bourbon. It’s remarkable to consider that every drop of Jack Daniel’s served at bars all over the world comes from this lovely hamlet down in the hollow—in fact, visitors are likely to see delivery trucks carrying pallets of bottles back up the hills to parts unknown. Should you want to dive deeper into the whiskey-making process, take a guided tour through the various stages of production, beginning at the source of the springwater and continuing through distillation and finally the rickhouses, where the whiskey ages for years in oak barrels until it’s ready for bottling."

Google
We did the guided walking tour today, and let me tell you it was well worth the 1.5 hour drive from Nashville. We got to see, do and learn new things about Jack Daniel’s and the process of making their products. Our tour guide Amy was awesome and she made the tour experience that much better. A must see and do if you are a Tennessee local or visitor. I also recommend checking out the gift shop which is located in the town square. I picked up a new favorite piece of furniture for our house ;-)

Google
Not just a great tour but a must for whiskey lovers and enthusiasts. Even if you know nothing about the whiskey or Mr. Daniel, the tour will shed some light about the distillery. I know all the guides are good but shoutout to our guide Matt, as he was very knowledgeable and entertaining while showing us around the grounds.

John Pishotta

Google
Fantastic experience - guide offered many anecdotes about Jack Daniels and the border southern whisky makers. Beautiful grounds, Note barrel making is off site and process shown via short video. Also, bottling lines are not operational on the weekends. Items prohibited on tour can be left in free lockers.

Google
Amazing experience, would 100% recommend. Our tour guide Justin was absolutely fantastic and made for a really enjoyable afternoon! The tasting was great and who knew there was a right way to drink whiskey! The addition of the JD and coke slushy was great especially on a hot day!

Google
Came into this tour with pretty high expectations and let me tell you… They absolutely blew it out of the water! Everything they showed was so fun and exciting to learn about. Our tour guide, Angelo, was very passionate and motivated. He was exceptionally helpful with questions and very informative in a fun way. The entire tour felt like taking a step back into time while also learning about the entire process. Angelo made sure that we knew the difference between regular old bourbon and good Ole Tennessee Whiskey. I feel like I have a good understanding and idea of what the entire process is like! Completely worth the money and time for the experience!!

Visiting the Jack Daniel’s Distillery was an unforgettable experience. The tour was well-organized and gave a fascinating look into the history and process behind one of the most iconic whiskey brands. It was great to see the property up close and learn how the whiskey is made from start to finish. The tasting at the end was a definite highlight—an excellent opportunity to sample a variety of their offerings and appreciate the craftsmanship behind each bottle. A special shoutout to our tour guide, Morgan—he was knowledgeable, engaging, and added a lot of personality to the tour. His storytelling and insights really elevated the experience. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area or interested in whiskey!

Sam Mendez

Google
Maddie gave us the most amazing tour! Visiting the Jack Daniel’s Distillery was an incredible experience—one that any whiskey lover (or history buff) should add to their list. The tour was well-organized, informative, and full of fascinating insights into the craftsmanship and heritage behind this iconic brand. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, sharing stories about Jack Daniel’s history, the distilling process, and even the famous cave spring water used in every bottle. Walking through the barrelhouses and catching the rich aroma of aging whiskey was a highlight, and the tasting at the end was the perfect way to wrap up the tour. Whether you’re a longtime Jack Daniel’s fan or just curious about how whiskey is made, this tour is well worth it. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We went on The Angel's Share tour with Kathy I. She made our first time experience great. What a wonderful lady to guide us. My family and I are locals and we really enjoyed this distillery! I highly recommend getting Kathy as your guide. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Such an informative tour by Danna our tour guide. There were a lot of people in our group but she did well keeping up with everyone. She was very spirited and fun as she told the story of Jack Daniels. It made me even want to start drinking whiskey with my hubby. Lol. The history was so interesting and to see how whiskey was made was shocking bc I had never thought about the charcoal, spring water and the limestone mountains. Definitely worth the trip! The "select " was the best! And the apple flavor was dessert worthy. Make sure u take the tour next time u are there!

Yelp
Jack Daniel Distillery is about 30 minutes from Uncle Nearest. Plan accordingly if visiting both. The history of these two well-known distilleries is amazing! Fawn Weaver did a great job bringing to light relationship between Jasper Jack Daniel and Nathan Nearest Green. The visitor parking is free and across the street. Leave yourself time to park and walk across the road to check in. There is no crosswalk, so be careful. Short walk, but it was hot this weekend. Lol! Check-in was simple. We were offered slushie options at check-in. $10 each for Jack with coke or lemonade. 95% of our tour group bought one. Our tour guide was great. She shared so much great info. I would definitely recommend her to anyone visiting. Our tour was late, so we rushed at the end, so book an early tour. They did take photos at the beginning for you to buy at the end. Photos were cute and not cheap. You could buy bottles and get them engraved. Loved it and recommend!

Yelp
Love this tour! Long walk and there are stairs that cannot be avoided. I do not recommend this for people that have walking disability. It was entertaining, informative and nice to know what I was drinking & how it was made. Everyone should do this.. especially if you want to know what is going into your body. Brandi was our tour guide and she was fabulous! If you get her as a guide you will not be disappointed. We also started our tour with $10 JD & Coke which is amazing because we are in a dry county (meaning no booze, honky tonks, etc.). Jack Daniel company has special permission to offer this drink and samples. They started samples back in 2012. The full history is on the tour. So many wonderful things on this tour that I do not want to give any spoilers. See pics and videos but it doesn't do it justice. Beautiful place and so much history. Parking for handicapped is closer but if you go to other parking lot there is a shuttle service. Be sure to visit shops for friendly information if needed.

Yelp
Come one come all to learn and appreciate Jack Daniels Distillery. Learn the history and appreciate that every drop of Jack Daniels is made here. Take one of the tours. You go through a very informative walkthrough of the facility. There is much history and you take a step back in time where this brand was founded. Make sure you swing by and get your distillery pass from the parking lot store. Grab your stamps and chips as you make your way through the state of Tennessee.

Yelp
This is a must if you are remotely close. The hour drive was definitely worth it. Even if you don't drink, grab a custom bottle for someone who does! Dusty was my tour guide with a laid back demeanor that delivered great content. Get a game plan ahead of time to purchase tickets. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be walking. After the tour you can take A short walk or hop on a bus to the area where there's more souvenir shops, ice cream Harley Davidson and a few BBQ spots.

Yelp
My wife, kids and I had a wonderful time taking the dry tour at the distillery. The guide and all staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. And the place itself was simply gorgeous. You really get a chance to take in each section of the property, while learning a ton about how the whiskey is made. Lovely experience!

Yelp
Some people think this is just a booze tour but actually it is far from it. I'm grateful to learn about the history of Jack Daniel's in the actual original location. It makes for the complete ambiance and experience. There wasn't any food available but the history in itself made up for that.

Yelp
Jack Daniel's flight of Jack Daniel tour ($30 a person) was such an informative and fun tour. It's an hour and a half tour that ends with 5 tastings of different Jack Daniel flavors and for an extra $7 at the beginning of the tour you get a Jack Daniels slushy mixed with Coca Cola or lemonade. The tour tells of how he got started and how his legacy still lives on today. If driving down there on your own you park across the street at the welcome and visitor center and there's a tram that takes you across to the distillery. Our tour guide ( I wish I remembered her name!) was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and encouraged questions and had the answers for us! It was cool to find out that California consumes the most Jack Daniels in the world( go Cali! lol) I'm not a big whiskey drinker at all but I enjoyed the small tastings and my hubby really enjoyed his as well.

Yelp
We love touring history sites and it's a big bonus if that historic site is also a distillery! We came here for the Angel's Share Tour back in June and we had a great time. The tour was informative and loved learning more about Jack (the man and the whiskey) as well as touring the historic grounds; the cave was our favorite part of the tour and it was very nice to have a cooldown on a hot TN day. The tasting was also great and we had a really good time all around. We were able to snag a bottle of the barrel-strength rye and they have lots of different things to purchase in the gift shop. It's a great tour overall and one I'd recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
The tour was very informational and HOT, Rooster is an amazing tour guide that made it fun and even our 13 year old son enjoyed it. We learned new things and saw the inner workings of the distillery while laughing along the way. Thanks for a great time Rooster!

Yelp
The guided tour was an amazing experience! Whether you're a Whiskey aficionado or not, you will appreciate and respect the founders and current employees who run this humble and passionate business that is driven to perfection. Everyone that works at Jack Daniel's has a personal or family connection to Jack Daniel and what he started over 150 years ago. As a marketer, I was inspired by experiencing what makes this brand one of the world's all-time BEST BRANDS. It's their connection to their craft, the land, and people. Our tour guide, Matt, has a personal passion and dedication that made us feel like family. I left inspired to apply these principles to my work and my life. Thank you! I look forward to many return visits to my new Tennessee family in Lynchburg.

Yelp
I embarked on a journey to experience possibly the number one whiskey in the world, Jack Daniel's. I'm huge on travel and figured I might be Jack's next fan, so that was enough to draw me in! The parking was free, so that was an excellent start! There was even a shuttle that took us to the building for free! It was basically across the street, so it was a quick ride. I had the pleasure of going here with my significant other. We purchased The Flight Of Jack Tour. It was an educational, lengthy tour to say the least. They took our photograph towards the beginning of the tour. We began our long walk after that. I ended up trying a spray of moonshine, so that was interesting for Jack Daniel's Distillery to offer. It was super strong, so take caution if you have the chance to try it. If you're like me, it's pretty hard to pass up something that's free. Later on in the tour, we got to smell from a whiskey drum. Let me tell you, it was a scent that I'll almost never forget. I'd like to say more, but I would rather not scare you. If you're offered to do it, you should just be brave and do it. I'm sure you would regret it later if you didn't. Towards the end of our tour, we went in a barrel room. It was insane how many barrels they had in there. I loved the way they had the barrels lined up. It was soothing in a weird way. Maybe I was just excited to try their whiskey, though. I tried Jack Daniel's Old No.7 Brand from a barrel. That was an excellent way to experience whiskey! It had a smooth and enjoyable taste, as I assumed it would. After we viewed that barrel room, we moved on to the tasting portion of the tour. There were six flavors on our palette to try. The flavors were Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniel's Old No.7 Brand, Jack Daniel's Barrel Aged Rye, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire, and Jack Daniel's Tennessee Apple. There was a specific way to conduct the tasting, so that made things a little more interesting. They all had a warm taste to them in their own unique way! I enjoyed them all, but Jack Daniel's Tennessee Apple was my favorite! It just really stood out to me a bit more than the others and seemed as if it had a built-in formula to provide a lighter bite. They gave a cup of water next to my palette, but that didn't do much for me with the bites of all these whiskeys. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. He led the tour productively from start to finish. Our group was small, so I feel we got to interact with him more personally than we would have if the tour was designed to hold a larger amount of people. Overall, this tour took me by surprise! It made for a good time and I'm glad it was my first distillery tour. If you're in Tennessee and have the chance, you should check this place out! I'd love to go again someday! Date of visit: 08/09/22

Yelp
This review is a long time coming........A few years ago........Well many years ago, three friends took a weekend trip to the nashville area and decided to schedule a tasting tour at Jack Daniel's.....Let be honest, this was the purpose of the trip.....The tour was amazing......You learned the process of making whiskey the Jack Daniel's way from start to finish.....Did I mention, at the time, Jack Daniel's was about 98% green? Amazing........We toured the entire facility. This included where charcaoal is made to filter the bourbon, to where the finished product is barreled and stored. All materials used in the process was used, recycled and reused. The fact that a operation this size had minimized waste was astounding. The property is an old plantation surrounded by farmland....The tour guide mentioned that the used wheat and barley to make the whiskey was sold to neighboring farmers for feed for their cows......Jack Daniel cows.......Jack Daniel live on the property and his house was a museum........Also, there is a small downtown or uptown section of the property where you can buy keepsakes and souvenirs. This is where you get your pictures, possibly grab a bite to eat or socialize. We bought a few keepsakes and took pictures. This was a tasting tour, so let get to the tasting..........We sampled 5 whiskeys and was able to purchase hard to find editions on site. I loved the commentary about each individual whiskey and the history of the brand, as well as, the social atmsophere of the tasting. It's done at the end of the tour obviously and because it's a "dry county" you are only able to taste a limited amount......Very limited.......Crazy fun fact.....by tgeWell worth the price of admission.

Yelp
I along with my wife took the "Flight of Jack Daniel's tour" during labor day weekend last year and we have become fans of this place. I say this as a tee-totaler that this place should be a must visit on your list if you are ever visiting Nashville. Here is the summary of our visit there: -- Location: This place is about 3.5 hours from Atlanta and 1.5 hours from Nashville. The funny part is that the distillery is part of a dry county where drinking in not allowed *wink*wink* -- Tickets: While we did the flight of Jack Daniels tour which is 1.5 hours long, there are many others available which are both with and without wine tasting. We had 6 different wine tasting - only a sip of their finest world famous whiskey. Booking in advance is a must --- Tour: The tour was amazing as so was out tour guide. I forgot her name but she made sure to answer all the questions, explain the process with her wit and jokes all the time. --- Value for Money: An absolute banger of a money. We paid $30 for the tour and it was totally worth it. Since the visitor, I have become their unofficial promoter and I promote the place to all my friends. I cannot recommend this place enough for the tour, the vibe and the history of Jack Daniels :)

Yelp
The Angel's Share Distillery Tour ($35) plus a Jack and Coke Slushee to enjoy mid tour for an extra $10 is a great experience to learn about the history of Jack Daniels while sampling five distinct whiskey's at the end. You do have to walk and climb a few stairs during this tour (with no bathrooms along the way), so you should definitely be aware of your capabilities if you have any disabilities or whatnot. The tour guide was clever and witty, as well as super informative. The drop in temperature at the cave was cool, especially in the hot and humid summer in June. Something I wish I had known earlier is that the gift store is located in the town square - we visited this about a 7 minute walk away before the tour to kill time. They only have the bottle shop at the distillery (they only sell the bottles and fill in the liquid for "free" due to the Tennessee law of the property being located in a dry county - the tour will explain that!). The history of how Jack Daniels came to be is interesting and I had no idea. Would definitely recommend the highest tier tour if you have the time!

Yelp
After visiting more than a dozen different distilleries large and small, from Bahamas to Maui, the Jack Daniel's Distillery tour remains the gold standard for distillery tours. My travels take me to the area periodically, so I have completed the tour at least seven times since the mid-1990s and it just keeps getting better each visit. The folks who guide the tours are truly excellent in these roles, being both extremely knowledgeable and personable. This is a departure from some other places where the "guide" is just someone from the process line who didn't have anything going on at the moment. You get to learn about the history of the operation and its founder, and the people who have kept it going for generations. Yes, the distillery is in a dry county, but they do have many different tasting tours now, and many of the nearby (walking distance) restaurants include what a waitress told me was a "damp county" selection of drinks. Tip: Go on a Monday morning to avoid the weekend crowd and to get in before they shut the processing down for weekly maintenance. If you can't make Monday morning (they shut down Monday afternoon), plan for Wednesday or Thursday. These days could change, so call ahead if timing is super important to you or you have a big group.

Yelp
The family thought the tour was fun and interesting. Beautiful grounds and a working distillery, what more could you ask for. Educational samples provided if you wanted to partake.

Yelp
We finally visited the distillery. You can start out your tour with a Jack and Coke or Jack and Lemonade freeze. I got the lemonade, my husband got the coke. They were both really good but didn't seem like there was much jack in them. It was a really good tour. I liked seeing the charcoal process which distinguishes TN whiskey from Bourbon. We did the Angel Share tour which included the more expensive whiskeys. I wish you got a little more in each tasting cup but TN liquor laws are antiquated (I say this as a TN resident). Highly recommend doing this tour in addition to the Uncle Nearest tour. You get a whole picture of TN whiskey! We also visited Mary Bobo's (similar to Monells in Nashville). If you can't get a reservation, get take out and eat on the patio. Good for people watching. We did not feel comfortable in the town square so we didn't get out there.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
We came in and did the 90 min angels share tour. Worth every penny! Debbie was our tour guide and she did an amazing job! Very knowledgeable. The whole place was clean well kept and had a great ambiance. I'm glad we came in off season I couldn't imagine it during peak season. Was more enjoyable this way. The tasting was at the end in a really cool tasting room. Would 100% recommend.

Yelp
I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend my day driving from Nashville and touring the famous distillery. I had heard that it wasn't worth the money and it was rundown. It was anything, but that!! I truly enjoyed spending time learning about the history of the Jack Daniel's company! Where it all began and how Jack Daniel's made a renowned company that's recognized all over the world. The pictures on websites don't do the establishment any justice! It's a great place to learn about a historical and significant place that's just as much a part of Americana as is the Civil War that began its existence! I highly recommend that you book your tickets ahead of your trip, as they go fast!

Margaret W.

Yelp
What a total disappointment after doing the Kentucky Bourbon tour with several distilleries. Jack Daniel's didn't have a bar, didn't have tastings!! We went out of our way specifically to visit on way home! Shouldn't have taken the time my husband sooo disappointed!!
google avatar

Denny T.

Yelp
Even if you're not a big drinker or even a fan of JD, you should visit this place if you're ever in Tennessee. Free parking and you can take a shuttle or walk over to the distillery. Sign up for one of the tours and they'll take you around parts of the facility. It's really informative and they'll tell you about the history of the company and the people behind it. It's also impressive how the whole process works to make the alcohol and the scale of the operation and how much Tennessee whisky they make every day. Our tour guide Angelo was awesome and was very informative and answered any questions we had. We had the flight of different types of whisky at the end in one of the barrel rooms and it was a pretty cool experience. At the end of the tour, you can also buy the photo they take at the beginning of the tour and you can also buy some of the whiskeys they have for sale. If you want to buy any merchandise, drive a block down the street and there are a lot of different stores there that have Jack Daniel's merchandise and also some local items and restaurants.

Yelp
I like this distillery. As others have said, it is a really scenic Tennesse location! Wear comfortable shoes if you are attending their annual invitational international BBQ fest which is held every October because the festival is spread out, well attended, and has some sloped areas. It's free to attend the festival and no, you don't get free BBQ samples, unless some of the teams are just feeling generous. They do have some food vendors and snack and drink machines. Jack Daniels' town of Lynchburg's home county of Moore is a dry county. However, the distillery proper's tour now offers various price ranges of tastings at the tour's conclusion. Do take the tour! The docents are all very friendly, well-trained and the tour is fun and informative. The natural springs (Cave Springs Hollow) are lovely. The American White Oak barrels are a work of art! The gigantic mellowing vats where the whiskey proofs (I guess that's what you call it), were quite the sight when I saw them on my first tour as a little girl. And the fermenting smell was really strong. I was always afraid of falling in those huge barrels! I don't know if this section is still a part of the tour or not. I highly recommend the Distillery tour and the annual international BBQ fest!

Yelp
What an awesome experience this was. Getting to see the whole process from start to finish and learn along way was really fun. Our tour guide was phenomenal and gave us so many tidbits of information that really made the experience once in a lifetime. We signed up for the basic tour and were blown away by the size of the facilities and the story of how Jack Daniel's started. The tour does require quite a bit of walking, so dress appropriately. We parked downtown and had a pleasant walk through town to get to the where the tours depart from. Just an overall great time and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in whiskey and bourbon.

Eulalia G.

Yelp
Everything about this tour was awesome! It was beautiful and so interesting to learn the ins and outs of whiskey making, the best part though was our guide Hannah Grace aka HG! She was beyond impressive! Full of energy, genuine smiles, good jokes and just really good at what she does! It was well worth the trip out to Lynchburg!

Yelp
We had an amazing tour by Jacob! Very thorough and polite. The tour was so cool and just the right amount of information and showing of the distillery. The tour ended with some great whiskey tasting and Jacob went into detail about each whiskey we were trying which was very helpful. We drove far to do this tour and it did not disappoint one bit!

Yelp
We had an amazing time at the distillery. I've been drinking Jack Daniel's since I was 15 years old, 52 now. Our tour guide Kyle was awesome, very friendly, informative and funny. We learned about the history, actual process and got to sample all the brands. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We enjoyed our tour and our tour guide was amazing! The grounds are beautiful! Our only issue is the websites talks about diaper bags and baby carriers like babies can go on the tours so we booked so my grandson could go! Jacob Daniel by the way! Named after JD! Anyways they wouldn't allow him on the tour and my son was specially here to get a bottle of JD with his name engraved to save for 20 years since his first birthday was this week! Normally we wouldn't be a child but this was a special birthday and we wanted to celebrate his name all together. We aren't sure why we couldn't just do the tour and then one of us would leave and not do the tasting?? Then another girl said he can't be on the grounds at all cuz he isn't 21 and it's a state law. So then why does the website talk about diaper bags? Anyways it really bummed us all out. But we just made the best of it and still got his special bottle engraved.

Yelp
We had a great time doing Flight of The Jack Tour. The tour guide was very informative and entertaining. Took one star off cause they put our flight tasting on a reversed order instead of the right order on the card. Plenty of parking spots. The staffs were very kind and helpful. Recommended to go there before 11 am if you want to avoid the crowd.

Yelp
10/10 loved the tour, loved the price, loved the history and loved the town right next to it. Great day tour to stop in when your coming or going from Nashville, TN or Chatanooga, TN. Worried we needed advanced tickets but we came on a sunday in December so it was not packed. For the summer I recommend advanced tickets.

Fritzi L.

Yelp
This is.a fascinating tour and Juliette, our tour guide, did a great job telling the story of the distillery. It started as a family business and many descendants of the original family still work there. Every aspect of the process is carefully thought out and controlled. A very enjoyable hour plus tasting.

Frank M.

Yelp
I am so not a whisky drinker but I loved the tour of this place. Jacob was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining. My only compliant is that no one in my group tipped him. People tip your tour guides if they do a good job!

Yelp
Absolutely recommend taking a tour. We had the walking tour with tasting and our tour guide was Kim. She was amazing, so knowledgeable and funny. Much of the information she provided was new to us and it was incredible to see the whiskey process first hand. I also appreciate the tasting as that's how we narrowed down what to purchase later on. Absolutely worth every penny. Also, if you can, purchase the slushes. They are so good!

Yelp
This was our second time touring the distillery and we went with a decent size group this time. Enjoyed the tour as much as the first time but we didn't get a shot glass this time so I think maybe you need to do the angels tour to get that. The tour is enjoyable and informative, especially if you like whiskey and/or interested in the process. We liked the variety offered during the tasting and ended up buying one of each so we could have them all at home. Also since went on Father's Day, they offered free engravings that day. We didn't get to eat at Miss Mary Bobo's since they were closed. When we come again we will definitely make sure the restaurant is open because I think it adds to the experience.

Yelp
Our tour guide Chon D was amazing! Very knowledgeable, answered all the questions we had. We didn't have very many because he covered damn near everything!! We did the " flight tour " (wet tour) and got to try 6 of their different whiskeys...but they are the most popular ones...we were expecting to try a few different ones but all Jack is good. Would have given it a five out of five if the tasters were a little on the fuller side! Definitely worth going through the tour. the smells of the moonshine, charcoal, and mash were a very cool experience! Very interesting to see the process from start to finish! Also the cavern where they get the water is really neat! No peeps or kids under 21 on the wet tour, but you meet up at the end!

Yelp
Top notch experience. Getting to learn the process of how this whiskey is made will give you a different appreciation for the product. It's definitely filled with a rich history. My favorite part was definitely the colorful and animated tour guide. Her country twang added a special ambiance to the tour experience and was very delightful. The tasting was an absolute treat at the end. The amazing part is that once you smell the corn aroma from the distillation process, you can actually sense it in the whiskey during the tasting. It brings out the sweetness. Overall amazing experience.

Yelp
I've done this tour twice. It's been great every time. Everyone is very friendly and informative. The tour is very peaceful to walk around the whole distillery. There is no food in the distillery but there are restaurants walking distance. Would highly recommend. I've learned to appreciate Jack Daniel's a lot more now.

Yelp
The best distillery tour I have been on. We did the $30 tour with flight tasting. Anthony was great. He kept it fun very informative. Where good walking shoes. You walk down hill the whole time. But there is alot of stairs to go up and down in the buildings. It gets warm inside the building. But all of it is worth it. Make sure you get a jack and coke slushy and the jack and Lemonade slushy!!! You will regret it if you don't! You have to purchase when you get your tickets! The only negative is the amount that you get to try. It needs to be more.

Yelp
My wife and I took the Flight of Jack Daniel's Tour and had a great time. Our guide, Brian, was awesome. Brian made the tour feel like a conversation among friends and had great knowledge of the distillery and the company. I learned a lot. The only draw back was in order to purchase souvenirs, you have to leave the distillery and go into town. The town is not far, but being the last tour of the day it the 99 degree temperature we were ready to get on the road. But overall, a great experience!

Yelp
Leslie was great! Super knowledgeable and you can tell she's been doing this for a while. I'm a vodka lover and I now have a better appreciation for Jack Daniel's in general. This is a must while in TN. It's 1 hour and 20 minutes drive from Nashville.

Yelp
First of all, if you are a good walker, this tour is very manageable even with stairs. One of our tour member who had a little more difficulty managed pretty well. Our tour guide Jacob was extremely accommodating for language differences as well as physical differences. The tour was fabulous and so much fun. The lemonade and Jack slushy was delicious. I learned so much and enjoyed every portion of the tour, the hot and the cold parts included. The tasting after was very informative and entertaining.

Yelp
I was here back in March. Surprised that I didn't write then. After being impressed with Jim Beam Distillery in KY, I was curious to tour another major distillery near me. Lynchburg is about 90 minutes away from Chattanooga, and I drive there quite often. Why not? All the free time in the world. I chose the $35 tour to sample kinda expensive JD liquor. It was $5 more than the cheaper option. The tour was about 90 minutes long. Due to some construction at the time, some areas were blocked off. It was fun touring the property and learning history. After the sampling, we took the free shuttle down the street to check out stores that sell JD merchandise for great prices. Pretty cool. I highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
We were in the area and could not pass the opportunity to take a real tour. To start off the property is beautiful. There are a lot of trees, flowers and a creek. We purchased our tickets for the Angel's Share tour. ((Just fyi...it's a good idea to buy tickets online ahead of time.) There's a JD store and a lot of historical items to look at while you are waiting. Our tour was FANTASTIC. There were 2 couples and a small family along with 19 young guys there for a bachelor party. Oh my goodness....Debbie, our tour guide, couldn't have handled the group better. It didn't get out of control at all. The tour is actually very informative and interesting. The cave was my favorite part. The tasting was at the end of the tour. My husband said that was great. We will definitely return when we go back through.

Yelp
Thumbs up to our tour guide Justin who is fun, enthusiastic and educated us with the whole history of Jack Daniel's. We couldn't ask for a better Tour guide! My only complaint to corporate is that, the tour is too long (almost a 2 hour tour) we started at 11:15am and didn't end til 1pm and how are you going to be so conservative in the alcohol pours for the tasting? I sat in a tour bus for 3 hours total (back and forth from Nashville) to YOUR distillery and we only get ONE drop of liquor tasting?!! You serious??! I should of just went to the local liquor store and saved 5 hours of my life. I've been to many whiskey and scotch tastings and they actually give you an actual 1oz pour from a jigger. Please reconsider your pouring in the tasting room and be a little bit more generous as you have tourist coming all over the country to try yo ur products! Please look at my photos to see how sad the tasting is.
