This location is on the rough side with lots of homeless people gathered outside. The service is good. I know the large cup I was provided is smaller than the cup I recieve by SDSU jack in the box. The food was pretty good.

Much better than the last time I went (I made the mistake of trying a chocolate shake at lunch then)! Very busy, but being efficiently handled. The breakfast food is always good (my go-to is the #25 Ultimate breakfast sandwich combo), and they were just busy enough the wait was short and the food hot. The breakfast staff ALSO always gets my order right. The atmosphere can be a bit iffy, since this location is at a very busy trolley stop, but today there were not many concerns, and folks were mostly respectful, when not outright helpful and friendly.

Maps assumes I've visited Jack in the Box because I live relatively close to it, and pass by it multiple times each day. I don't know of a way to make it stop suggesting that I review it so maybe leaving a review will make it stop. I will be using my knowledge of their menu and the experience I had at the last one I actually had the pleasure of eating at. **Upon further consideration kce decided to give 4/5 stars on the off chance that this is the best location in the history of the company. And let's face it. There's no Jack in the box with an average rating of 5 stars. While I do not eat fast food (besides independently owned Taco Shops in San Diego only) I do not disparage those who do, and would tell them to eat whatever you want. At least you're eating. That being said. I think there's a brief window of time between the food being prepared and packaged up to serve to a customer of about 4-5 minutes for most of the items on their menu. Which is why they throw away food that has sat under the heat lamps for more than 4-5 minutes if they are following their states safe food handing policies. So you essentially have, under the most optimum circumstances, about 4-5 minutes to eat whatever it is they give you before the company that makes and sells it considers the food trash. I could go on and on with statistics that will probably only bore most people. Or I could tell one of many horror stories about things i have seen, smelled, or tasted personally but that would probably be breaking some sort of law meant to protect corporations reputations. Or I could just say "do what you want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone." So try to refrain from serving it to anyone else unless they're consenting adults. This includes children and pets who don't know any better.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Incorrect Order, Overcharge, and Poor Customer Service Dear Jack in the Box Customer Service, I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with a recent experience at one of your locations. Our order was mishandled in multiple ways, and the customer service we received was unacceptable. First, we were overcharged for milkshakes that were no longer available. Instead of being refunded the difference, no effort was made to correct the billing issue. This alone was frustrating, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the only problem. We ordered chicken sandwiches with no lettuce only, but the sandwiches were served completely plain—missing all the other toppings, including mayo and any standard condiments. This was not what we requested. Additionally, we paid extra for extra ranch and hot sauce, which were not included in the order. When we returned to request them, we were rudely informed that the location didn’t even have any available. At no point during the order process were we told this in advance. The overall customer service was very unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than attempting to correct the issues or offer any apology, the staff were rude and unhelpful. This experience did not meet the standards we expect from Jack in the Box. I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and address these issues with the location in question. I would appreciate a response and resolution, including a refund for the missing items and incorrect charges.

The food is as expected for Jack in the Box - greasy, cheap, and satisfying. That said, the location is terrible. Despite a posted 30-minute limited for dine-in guests it looked like some people had bee there for hours, including more than one who appeared to be passed out on the tables. Lots of loitering and shady stuff going on in the area in broad daylight. Not many tables available inside. Overall not a place I would recommend to go to dine in.

Staff here are unprofessional, they greeted me and my friend with a negative attitude and body language. We ordered a large chocolate shake and regular strawberry shake. The shakes were not mixed well and they were vanilla with all the strawberry sauce at the bottom and no cherries on top. This is besides the location. Very bad experience. No recommendation.

I recently visited Balboa Park and briefly stopped by Jack in the Box to purchase bottled water. The experience was unsettling, as I encountered individuals in the surrounding area who appeared to be in a state of distress. Upon entering the store, I was struck by the strong odor of cigar smoke and observed two individuals smoking inside. Additionally, I noticed homeless individuals occupying the seating area, apparently resting. I promptly returned to my vehicle, only to witness a young woman adjacent to the parking lot engaging in substance abuse. This needs to have police visibility in this area. Scariest day of my life!

Definitely a place to avoid, it's in a rough part of town, the dinning room was filthy, the store was hot, there was a long line with only one cashier. There was no kiosk ordering. There appeared to be security that came and went taking photos, not sure if he was part of the stores security. The dinning room looks rough and outdated. This store just looks rough and gives out an undesirable vibe. I wouldn't recommend this store unless you go through the drive thru.

This place is so nasty. The customer service is okay, but they are so busy, even at night, that they don't take the time to take your order. There are also super shady people nearby, and the food doesn't taste right compared to any other regular Jack in the Box.

This was my first time trying Jack in the Box and the food was actually pretty decent. The french toast sticks were nice and crispy, but could have had more flavor. Burger King's french toast sticks are still supreme in the fast food sector. What's worse, the syrup smelled and tasted like chemicals. I can't even call it syrup it was so strange. Aside from the bacon, the jumbo breakfast was pretty good. The pancakes were a little dry, but reminded me of eggo's frozen mini pancakes, the sausage was basic sausage you'd get from any breakfast menu at any fast food restaurant, and the eggs were soft. The bacon strips weren't as wide as normal bacon and had a weird form. I think that my expectations were considerably low which is why I may have been so surprised by the quality. Jack in the Box may be OK at making breakfast after all and comparable to other fast food breakfast offerings.

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. I go through the drive-thru, and some guy who barely speaks English is taking my order, trying to tell me what I'm going to order instead of asking me what I want. Anyway, I always get curly fries when I go to Jack in the Box because they're better, in my opinion. I get to the window, and the guy hands me my food; my mistake for trusting that he took my order correctly. I drive off, and when I park, I see that they gave me regular fries. I don't like the regular fries, and it is not what I asked for or paid for. So I go back because I had time today. The guy pulls up my receipt, and he's like, I charged you for regular fries, and I'm like, Yeah, but I asked for curly fries. He gives me the damn curly fries, and I drive off. Horrible, this is just one instance of many. I rarely ever go here, but after today I definitely will not return.

On a regular day, I would definitely not come to this Jack in the box location, because it's infested with downtown sketchy people and the homeless also made this place their permanent residence. Located right across from the trolley station of Park Blvd, the parking lot is barely available with limited spots and a drive thru that questionable for people to navigate in or out. The fountain drinks are locked in a fiberglass case, there's a security at the door and the bathroom area, that speaks a lot about itself. Somehow I got here as a Comic Con Dead Pool and Wolverine promos, so they decorated the exterior of the store to advertise the movie, then if you buy a certain item you get an exclusive item only available at this location. I am glad they kept the place organized during the convention, all the employees were very nice and all the customers also behaved themselves during my visit. Would I come back on a regular day, probably not, but who knows, I actually appreciate the opportunity here, I bought a homeless lady a meal, since I only need the Dead Pool item. Good deed done well :)

I came here two times in the evening on different days. Both times the customer service here was very horrible and the people were very rude to me. The first horrible experience was from an older Mexican Guy I wasn't sure if he was the Manager or Supervisor. The second time I came here it was a younger girl with pink braids in her hair and she was very rude and ghetto looking. My food wasn't even fresh. My food tasted like it had been sitting for some time. I didn't deserve this I am a paying customer. I deserve fresh food! This location needs to be visited by the CEO or head of the Jack N The Box Company! It's also very dirty and filthy looking. I don't recommend anybody buying food from this location?

Worst Jack in the box ever. Avoid this location at all costs. Every single time I go there, there's always an issue. Tonight I went and there was no line. It took the guy 7 minutes to even respond to me to be able to order. I pull up to a window and they're serving a homeless man. I left without checking my order and I got the complete wrong order

Jackie the closing manager of August 18, 2024. She was the one doing the drive-thru at 3:15pm. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I inputted my order at 2:56pm and came by the restaurant at 3:15pm. She told me that my order was not on the system unless my name was Erick. I showed her my email confirmation and she verbally confirmed the address. I asked her at what time, it was going to be ready and she responded with "I don't know". I asked her to cancel my order and she refused, telling me to do it through the app. I asked her for assistance to cancel the order through my phone and she told me "no". At the end I never received my order. When I left I checked that my email said "For order issues, please contact 1110 C ST at (619) 234-0785." So I contacted the restaurant asking who the next manager was that could assist me and she just kept saying "no" and "I'm the manager". At the end once again she didn't help me and she didn't want to transfer me to anyone else. I am truly upset at this experience and the fact that they still charged my card its extremely unacceptable. Also it is important to include that all of this happen during my lunch break making me miss my meal for the day.

I don't normally do reviews but I feel the obligation to warn people I would give 0 stars if I coulda ignoring the fact there's a homeless guy sleeping right outside only entrance not only was the food subpar but this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 33 years of existence. I ordered through Uber eats for pickup . And because there's literally a random body laying in front of the entrance, I go to the drive through to try and pick my order up. When the woman opens the window I ask if it's okay to pick my order up through the window. She looks me dead in the eyes and just shuts the window. So I ask a nice customer to ask her for me. Response, yes. So after I get my food I ask her politely if I could have a bag since I'm walking back to my apt a couple of streets down. She says "nope." While I'm literally staring at a bunch of bags. I'm like "I really can't have one of those bags right there?" I guess since I pointed it out she reluctantly gave me one. After this horrible experience I get home 2 blocks away from the location. Food is not only cold but it's terrible. I will never eat at this or any other Jack in a box for the rest of my life and I advise anyone to avoid this place unless you are on deaths door. And if you're on deaths door there's a del taco and McDonald's right next door.

I placed an order through the website for pickup. When I went to pick it up, I opened the bags and checked to make sure everything was there. There was a burger missing. I told the woman who gave me the bags and she immediately and loudly started berating me in front of many other customers by saying "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT!" I was taken aback and said "What? Do what?" "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO OPEN THE BAGS!," she says. I realized she must have thought I was DoorDash or something and was opening another customer's bags. But like I said, I ordered on the JITB website for pickup. DoorDash wasn't involved in any way and she should not have assumed it was a DD order and given me a bunch of attitude for opening my own food. I said "This is my pickup order that I paid for. Why can't I open the bags?" She then said very rudely, "well everything's there". I had to show her that one of my items was missing; a $7.29 Double Jack. She turns, around, grabs it off the table and hands it to me with a rude attitude. Then she walks off, saying nothing. Well FORGIVE ME for not just going home, assuming everything is correct, finding out I'm missing a $7 item, and just shrugging my shoulders and saying "Oh well, f*cked by fast food again". I just wanted to get what I paid for, but f*ck me, right?

After all of these years this place still has incredible sanitation issues in their dining room and bathroom. This has been going on for years but no changes from the company. They also used to have a security guard there but axed him a long time ago. The security guard is much needed in that location. The health department really should perform an investigation and find out how bad that place really is. Please eat elsewhere. This place should have been closed down years ago.

So i'm out here in El cajon At the Jack in the box on Main Street addresses 393 main street, and they close their doors before 10 o'clock and Have Refuse me service. Can I was there 5 minutes till 10 I try to get their attention. They ignore me, the place is trashed. There's hope was hanging out all around it. It was a convenient spot for me. Because I don't drive so I can't go anywhere else right now. The only food place around here and this really, really sucks. But Jack in the box sucks anyways. Why I thought to go there? I have no idea cause I don't usually eat there.

Wow. Shame on the owner/operator of this location. The moment I opened the door, the stench of garbage hit me in the face. It was incredibly hot in there, as there was no air circulation. Your employees and customers deserve so much better. Clean up the place. Take some pride in your business. Do better.

I wish they kept the cheese sticks on the menu all year - it's my favorite thing from JBX. This location was quick with no line for a late night munchie run. We had driven by another location and it had a long line with little movement of cars. So glad we gave C Street location a try instead! Was so happy to with the fast service and friendly employee. There's just something about Jack in the Box marinara sauce with cheese sticks just really floats my boat. :)

I used Uber to deliver the food from jack in the box.. I ordered a jumbo jack combo large. No cheese, extra ketchup, extra mayo, and no extra patty, because they charge for the extra patty. What I got was a cold hamburger with no patty with cheese, no ketchup and no mayo. The fries were hot but the patty was a stone cold. With fees for the delivery and tip they charged me $26. I thought that was expensive. But I ordered it at 3 am. And it did arrive at 320am as promised. Order #981699. I have waited tables for years and if I served the crap I bought for my meal I would have at the very least been reprimande. Food is very expensive and if the presentation is far worse than the price. Then it just isn't worth it. They really don't deserve a rating but if I did rate them I would have to say a negative1. Shame, shame on u jack in the box. And double shame on Uber for not giving me the opportunity to complain on the app. I had to resort to going outside the box to post my complaint and I do want my money. Back. I'm retires and on a fixed income. I don't have the money to throw away on crap.

Today at 12:30 I dined at the jack in the box on c St. I was very disappointed and in disbelief to come into a fast food restaurant. To see that this place had nearly anything as people were placing orders.no onion rings,no spicy chicken, no regular fries,it's a shame the way the curly fires weren't hot,the stuffed jalapeños were disgusting, the ice coffee was watered down.the restaurant was dirty,disgusting. The employees weren't listening to the customers...take a look at your store.hire people who can communicate better with the customers. Thank you,Stephanie

Food was good its just the Service like lack of cashiers and the weird cashier guy that has poor language didn't give me the forks i put in order and too many homeless people. If only they get rid of them cause this jack in box isn't great to bring your family or kids here its full of rats and homeless people eating there. Like come on if you want atleast 3 stars or 3.5 star fast food place get more cashiers and more security so the security can vacate the homeless people out of the property or atleast have employees to tell them leave if they going camp outside.

Their food quality is doing down hill and prices going up. I used to love the chicken strips they were amazing years ago. Now who knows what kind of mutated rcheap quality chickens they are using. Even the breading is horrible. The oil they use makes the food taste nastier.

I just came from this place at 1:30 am and the night staff there are running a scam. My order came out to $19 so I handed them a $20 bill and the Mexican lady there said it was fake and that she would not give me my $20 back. I was going to call the cops on them but My wife was there with me and asked me not to make a scene and to just let it go. Just beware of this place. 1110 C st. San Diego

The customer service in this place is beyond ridiculous. As a paying customer you would think the people working there would do there job and when there is an issue to acknowledge how they can assist and Correct. I understand there are a lot of homeless in the area. The maintenance of the bathroom is disgusting. I would not eat here at all.

Cold burger took 5 minutes to "cook" and tasted horrible. Usually I like JITB but not this location on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Nasty. If I hadn't been on my lunch break, I would have complained in person. Oh and they didn't give me the receipt either, guess they knew the burger sucked and I'd complain.

Absolutely the worst Jack In The Box in San Diego. The line is always 30 minutes long for two customers. They need to hire more competent employees or set up self order kiosks. I repeated that I needed a ranch three times, and still didn't get it. I repeated that I needed a value drink and not a small drink and that still somehow went wrong. I think they need to close this location until management takes hiring more serious. Disgraceful and absolutely ridiculous that this is how they can run a business.

im an uber driver, came to pick up someones order, no one was at the speaker, and when i pulled up this ugly ahh young lady said they were closed in a very rude tone, and i showed her the uber order and she said again we're closed. i checked the store hours and they close at 3:30 am, it was 11:00. at least pause the tablet, and when someone pulls up, dont treat them like dirt.

Too many people lingering around in the restaurant. The staff is extremely slow, which only adds to the cluster of people. While there is an on-duty security guard, he does nothing to make the place feel safe. Definitely get your food TO GO--the homeless will harass both inside and out front. The floor was sticky, the counters were dirty and this location appears to be short-staffed. I noticed all of this while waiting over 10 minutes for my food.

All around the worst! I've been a Jack customer for a long time and my heart hurts on this one. To start, no TP in the restroom nor hand soap. Really? How do they wash THEIR hands? How do they wipe the butt? Hahaha! And after 30 min wait in line inside the restaurant, they tell me they have no eggs. I'm done!

The customer service at this location is lacking big time. I went through the drive through the other night I know stupid for eating fast food. But it was late when I got off work. I got home from placing my order and the food smelled nasty. Like the grease was a month old. It was too late to go back. So I called and no answer. I tried back all day on Sat never an answer. I called back today and Laura answered the phone. I asked to speak to a manger she let me know the managers are not there on the weekends. Just team leads. I asked to speak to a team lead about my order she let me know she was the team lead. I started to tell her what the issue was and she let me know she didn't have time for a customer complaint they are busy and I can call and speak to the manager. I asked when the best time was to call. And she let me know that's why it's called try and call back. Horrible customer service. This is a reason why minimum wage should never go up.

Absolutely the worst location I have ever been to in all of my 44 years on this earth. Guadalupe was so rude! I arrived to the window and placed my order then she proceeds to ask me if I wanted something else after I ordered what I wanted already. She did not repeat my order to me to ensure that it was correct. I had to ask when I pulled up to the window to pay. I handed her a $5 bill to pay for my food which was $2.04. She claimed she didn't have change. She told me she didn't have change to break my $5 and she wasn't going to give me my food for free! OMG! How rude. And what poor customer service! I would have never told a customer that. I called the 951 number so that I can place a complaint. Next I am calling Jack in the Box corporate because this is completely unacceptable! My purchase was 8/29 at approximately 7:15 am and the rude staff member was Guadalupe at the drive thru window. Smh.

This place has been history for me. When I was struggling in life as a run away teen, I would go to this place for refuge, coffee and just a break from the hard streets. This place was inviting and had management that cared about the community and actually looked for ways to help... Now, this place has zero integrity and cares nothing for it's customers. The management has zero standards. Let me say that again... Management here is atrocious. I went to the drive through right now and there's a sign that say come straight to the window. So I go straight to the window. Management starts giving me attitude saying she was talking to me through the speaker. I politely explained you have a sign that says come straight to the window. She's starts giving more attitude like she doesn't want to help me. Now look, if you don't like your job or don't like people, you shouldn't be doing this type of job. I don't want to come to your establishment and deal with your shitty attitude because you had a bad day or don't care for the environment of your job. You are in the service of people and with someone like this in your business you are doing a disservice to your community straight out. This is the type of place that needs secret shoppers to weed out those people with horrible attitudes. Jack get on your job buddy.

Horrible place to get something to eat. Such a great company with a business running with only 2 employees for a breakfast morning. This only tells me they have poor management and the staff is not well organized

This place is the WORST FASTFOOD RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. The attitude of the workers are disrespectful. I have gone here 3 times. Every time I go through the drive thru I have been talked down to just by asking a question. The last time I went I waited in the drive thru just to get yelled at by some female worker. Because I ordered to meals. If you really hate a job that much quit. Go work somewhere where you can actually enjoy a job. This place is super unprofessional and I was still missing food and when I went back they have such a bad attitude and argued that they gave it to me. I just drove away. Please don't eat here and if you do expect bad customer service, old food, and a food missing.

I stopped in here earlier in the week to get something to eat before work. I waited in line 15 minutes just to get to the counter, because there was only one employee working the register. Then it took another 15 minutes to get my food. So this location isn't fast food, it's slow food, and it's as slow as molasses. This is one JIB that I won't be returning to.

I love coming to Jack In The Box whenever I feel the need for something savory. Whenever I come there is always pretty good service. I never really had any problems with the staff because they are trying there best with the conditions of this virus. There food never disappoints me.

Very slow service. This particular Jack N Box is old and dated; smells like urine?! The menu is partially blocked from view when ordering by a Coke machine at the counter. This is one of the not so clean locations requiring a security guard! I highly recommend the drive-through but be careful you can only approach the drive-through while on C St. I can only recommend this location if you're desperate for visiting a Jack-in-the-Box. My recommendation to Jack-in-the-Box is a reevaluate this location. The Jack in Box top brass needs to stand in line and have the same experience.

Well, it is a fast food restaurant so you can't expect above & beyond, but too many things went wrong to not leave feedback. 1- Asked for my chicken sandwich to be without mayo. Got home to find mayo on my sandwich. 2- Asked for ketchup and buffalo sauce when the lady (manager) asked if I needed any sauce. I get home to find no ketchup in the bag. 3- Fries were so old to the point where some of them were chewy. They were room temperature. 4- Food took notably long when I was the only one in the drive thru. 5- Homeless people all over the building which isn't necessarily their fault but they couuuld enforce some sort of anti-loitering if they cared enough about cleanliness.

I was there at 10:40 pm on sunday, sept 4th 2022 and when they took my order for a jumbo jack and a chicken sandwich the total on the board said $9.03. When I got to the window, the cashier (a heavy set latino woman probably late 20s) said $12.57. Didnt seem right but I handed her $20 and she gave me the change. Then she starts to pass through the window an orange juice. I tell her I didnt order an orange juice. She is immediately argumentive, "yes you did". Ive never ordered orange juice at a fast food in my life I tell her regardless of what you think I ordered, I dont want this. She said "I cant take it back because I already charged you for it!". Now mind you this is not a fountain drink but a sealed commercially branded container. She wont budge. As she hands me the rest of my food I smile and ask her her name. She says why do you want to know my name? I reply "why do you think?" She says "Im not going to tell you!" To which I reply "**** you" and drive away. I soon realize she didnt hand me a receipt or put one in the bag so I dont know who she is, or if she rang the OJ at all. Maybe she is pulling something over on her employers I really dont know without a receipt. Regardless, her behavior was outrageous and I usually have a good experience at this location, certainly not this time.
