Chicagoan Patrick Bertoletti Scarfs Down 58 Hot Dogs to Win Nathan’s Famed Eating Contest | Eater Chicago

"A 73-year-old California-based fast-food chain known for burgers, tacos, and regionally specific menu items is planning a Chicago-area comeback after roughly four decades, aiming to open eight mostly suburban 24-hour restaurants (including Tinley Park, Naperville, and Plainfield) and one city location near Midway Airport between 2025 and 2026; the chain already operates nine locations in downstate Illinois." - Naomi Waxman

KFC Brings Back Rudy as Colonel Sanders in New Commercial | Eater

"Participating in the same stunt-driven contest for chicken publicity, the chain ran a playful 'leaning tower of poultry' promotion, illustrating how fast-food brands are using gimmicky, spectacle-focused marketing to vie for attention in the post-sandwich, hype-centric landscape." - Greg Morabito

Jack in the Box Adds Even More Patties to Its Chicken Sandwich | Eater

"The chain revived a novelty "more is better" chicken sandwich that originally debuted in 1995 and was reintroduced with an option of up to four breaded chicken patties. The sandwich uses a hamburger bun with lettuce, sliced tomato, mayonnaise, bacon and Swiss-style cheese layered between two to four school-lunch-style chicken patties, resulting in a tall, onion-ring–like appearance. Critics argue that stacking multiple breaded chicken patties magnifies common problems—dryness, saltiness, sharp breading edges and unwieldy thickness—making the approach feel like a low-effort quantity-over-quality play rather than a focus on improving the chicken itself." - Brenna Houck

Burger King’s New Tacos Are Crispy Shells Filled With Beef for a Dollar | Eater

"Although primarily perceived as a burger-and-sandwich purveyor, tacos are an enormously popular and lucrative item for this chain — selling roughly 1,000 orders of tacos per minute — and the company has even experimented with tiny versions of its most popular taco. That strong demand has helped position the crunchy beef taco as a major revenue driver and a product other burger-focused chains look to emulate." - Greg Morabito

First time here at this location. Food was okay and welcoming used an open ordering station inside. It took about 45 minutes for two combos. The food was okay but it's too far of a drive fir us just to have to wait for so long for fast food. Hopefully they get better and at least the management did what they could to try to compensate the waiting customers inside.

What a disappointment!!!! First you get trapped in the drive thru because they have a curb to prevent you from leaving . We got stuck in the line for 1 hour and 27 min. We asked for a discount for our wait and was told nope sorry after that long of a wait we paid. The lady promised the food was fresh, it was disgusting and unacceptable to put that crap out to a customer. The bun was hard the burger was dried out and cold , the cheese wasn’t even melted. Then they closed the store. I couldn’t even get my food remade. I have no clue what we could have been possibly waiting for if all of the food was old. Do not go here !

I recently visited a new place in Seattle that is known for its hot and fresh food, and I was really excited to find out they were opening a location here. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes outside and another 20 minutes inside just to place our order. DA Jayla was very nice and calm throughout the process. Unfortunately, it took about 30 minutes to get our food, and when it arrived, it was cold, and the salad was frozen. To make matters worse, they were out of chicken sandwiches and receipt paper. Our order number was written on yellow paper since the mobile app wasn’t working for my points, and the mobile kiosks were down as well. The lines outside were long, and it seemed like people weren’t being attended to. The expediter at the front was moving incredibly slowly, and some staff in the back were goofing off. One person even walked in with a backpack. I noticed a girl chewing gum, and another girl at the register, who relieved the previous cashier, was drinking soda and had long nails. Corporate really needs to address the issues at this location.

The first time that I EVER used a drive-thru was a Jack In The Box when I was in college. That was fast, easy, and delicious. And the clown head was the only drive thru ANYWHERE. Today, after many decades I came here to the brand new Jack, in Orland Park. Friendly, courteous staff. A bit pricey for a double 🍔 and onion rings...$12.39. Checked out at 5:24 pm. Got the food at 5:43 pm. So VERY GLAD that I didn't use the drive in which had a very long and slow line. 🍔 was decent(for fast food). Kind of like Hardee's. The onion rings were very good. The iced tea was Gold Peak, I believe. I will try them again some time in the future. Hopefully they'll have the service improved.

If the place has a long line inside and out then leave. If the kiosk is available. Skip the line by using the kiosk. I dont recomend ordering alot because they will mess up the order. The reciepts dont specify what you ordered. Place is new. Tacos are not worth buy8ng. Go to tacobell. JiB haz the worst tacos. Regular fries are too salty. The curly fried have like everywhere else been greasy. Sour doug chease burger was not as good a a whopper from BK. I asked for it to be well done and it wasnt. The bacon cheesburger was great. I only tasted it. All the cheeses in this restaurant are great quality. The tomatoes and lettuce, bacon. Are top quality too. Loaded curlys where good becsuse of the cheese. The cooks need more time to be great. But so far avoid the tacos. I wont be coming back to try the other stuff like eggrolls etc. Maybe in 12 months.

Finally visited the place, despite all of the negative customer reviews and claims. However, I must have gotten really lucky when I got there, because the restaurant wasn't terribly busy for a weekday at noon. Also, the food wasn't bad, but not exactly much more unique or better than something from McDonald's-Got a Jumbo Jack with fries and some tiny tacos. I did appreciate the avocado lime sauce though. The biggest problems with my experience involved everything else. The lobby was packed with people just waiting for orders (One lady had reportedly been waiting for two hours). While I could forgive the staff for not being very cordial, the cashier's face said everything to me about how overwhelmed they were; at least they weren't rude. Waited for about 36 minutes after ordering before I was able to leave with my food, and all the while, the dining area was full of disinterested faces and sterile decoration, accompanied by occasional jabs at the staff from disrespectful customers. TLDR; My experience, while not as bad as some others, definitely was underwhelming. And, while the food is alright, the place needs better management and more inviting staff before I consider returning.

It was our first time here at Jack in The box in Tinley Park. The food was decent but the duration of waiting for our food was below average. It wasn't bad for the price we paid. It's almost like Wendy's Taco Bell and Arby's combined their items together and created Jack in the box! Lol🤷‍♂️ long story short, I'd probably still go back there....

This was our first time eating at a Jack-in-the-box. I was amazed to see to the cars wrapped around the parking lot for the drive thru. We went inside to order and there was also a big line of people, including those waiting to get their food. However, everyone seemed to be in a pleasant mood (staff and patrons). My ticket order number was 3101, which tells me there has been a lot of customers here today prior to 7pm.
