Amazing food - appealing presentations, just the right amount of spicy kick to the curry, and satisfying flavors. The hot toddy was served at the perfect sipping temperature. The selections were unusual, making it difficult to choose just one dish. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It was a nice mix of locals and new customers.

Asian and Indian inspired dishes. Good place if you’re vegetarian or vegan. Fresh and tasty dishes. The coconut masala was very good but not very warm. Portions are not overly big but plenty of dishes from the menu to share. Outside seating in the back. Friendly service. A bit pricey for what you get. Good place for lunch.

As a vegan it's sometimes hard to find good food or any options at all, in beach towns. I found Jack of Cups a few years ago and come back every year when I'm in the area. I can't say enough good things about this place - the food and the service are excellent. Some of the bests soups/stews I've ever had. Wish I lived closer to them.

We’ve eaten here twice in two weeks. Everything we had, including all of the bowls and a couple of appetizers and the brown butter cake, were delicious! On one of the visits, we had a 2 yo and 4 yo with us. They had wonderful noodles with butter for the kids who loved them! There’s not much space here. So you will do well to go at slightly off hours. But service is quick and efficient. You won’t wait long for your food most likely.

This is some of the best food we had on Folly Beach (and there's a lot of good food on Folly). Unique menu with amazing flavors, excellent cocktails, and quick & friendly service. We ordered the Greek salad with prosciutto, the red curry mac & cheese, and the tteok-bokki buccatini with sausage. Highly recommend all of it - don't think you can go wrong with anything in the menu. We'll be back before our vacation is over! This place is incredibly vegetarian friendly as meat is an add-on for the majority of dishes (not cooked with the dish). There are also vegan and gluten-free options. The menu changes every 4 months or so, so check the menu before you come to make sure there are options for your dietary preferences/ restrictions. I think, on average, that most would spend $20 - $30 per person (a meal and a drink), but if you try multiple dishes and cocktails, you can easily spend $50 per person.

Super weird and I'm into it. Fusion cuisine has been around forever, but Jack of Cups takes the concept and does some DASTARDLY things with it. No other dish represents this notion better than their Cap'n Crunch deviled eggs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I'm trying not to overthink the moment. It just worked, with the crunchy texture and sweetness of the cereal pairing well with the creamy whipped yolk and tangy hot sauce. Not something I'd make myself and likely won't reach for it again anytime soon, but I respect the journey this restaurant is trying to take its customers on. Other things we tried were the curry mac (great), chana masala (good), and a veggie chorizo sandwich (just OK - patty tasted more bfast sausage than chorizo). If you're feeling froggy then Jack of Cups is worth a hop.

We find this full of character saloon in search for a late Sunday diner. It was recommended by a friend-chef. The menu offers degustary visit to North African flavors and spices. Maybe because of the late hours, the rice came cold, and so was the lukewarm soup. They have a stage, but it was empty during our visit. Close to the beach.

Where to start, Jack of Cups Saloon is a very eclectic place. Everything from the Spanish movie posters of American classics to the menu having influences from Indian, Mediterranean and Italian cuisine to the 80's music at a volume just loud enough to enjoy but still allow you to have a conversation while dinning. The staff was amazing and seemed to be enjoying themselves as well as providing attentive service without being intrusive. I can't rate this place high enough! Just go, you will not be disappointed.

Super unique, fun spot for a delicious dinner after a day at the beach. The ambiance and decor is eclectic and gives Western-style bar vibes. The food is so unique and almost everything is vegetarian. We tried the Peanut Ginger Soup, Strawberry & Spinach Salad, Impossible Burger, and Cheesy Gochujang Bucatini. All the dishes were delicious! The Impossible burger looked and tasted so much like meat that we had to ask to confirm it was truly vegetarian - so tasty. The soup and salad were light and the perfect start to the meal - I wasn't sure about the soup but it was creamy and warmed us up from the inside. Our favorite was the Bucatini - spicy, cheesy, saucy, and so slurpable. Definitely don't miss Jack of Cups! Super casual and inviting spot with tasty, unique food.

Walking by Jack of Cups it would be easy to miss! There isn't any signage that we could see but luckily we learned about it on Yelp and were able to look up the location. JoC is definitely a laid-back hippie beachy bar vibe. We sat outside on the covered patio with our kids- high chairs are available! We started with drinks- my husband had the gin and tonic & I had the hibiscus margarita. There were so many appetizing items on the menu- great place for vegetarians with plenty of veggie options! I had the chickpea patty wrap with green goddess soup as a side. The wrap was delicious as was the soup- my toddler ate most of the soup it was that good! I meant to ask for the recipe before we left. Definitely would recommend Jack of Cups to those visiting Folly!

I visit Jack Of Cups for a book club meeting with Charleston Society of Horror at the end of June. They accommodated our large group at two tables out back. The service was phenomenal as they stayed on top of everything (including when people trickled in.) Our waitress was straight to the point about everything and friendly. I ordered a couple of beers, the Impossible Spring Burger to start. Everything was amazing. And let's face it, nothing is ever bad JOC. Toward the end I split an Everything Pretzel Bites app with one of the girls and had a hibiscus margarita for myself. Once again everything was 10/10. I'm a sucker for any sort of hibiscus drink and it was really refreshing for how hot it was out. We did have a couple of fan by our table that helped with the air flow. If you're on Folly this is the place to go for quality food. Sure there are some other places that look cool but you won't get the same quality and it'll be overpriced. JOC is within budget and delicious!

This food is delicious! I love that the menu is always different and differs so much from all of the offerings of other local restaurants. It is hard to find unique dishes featuring spices like curry elsewhere on Folly Beach. Love the vibe and the option to sit inside or outside.

Looking back, I forgot to add pictures of the food or a detailed review about it. 5 years ago, I did not experience that genuine southern hospitality here except for the bartender. Hopefully, by now they got rid of that waitress (blonde hair and heavyset) and waiter (kind of like a real life Shaggy with a fuller beard and curly hair). To summarize, they were racist, ignored us, and only took the Caucasian customers behind us. They left us hanging until the bartender took us in. The restaurant has Asian influenced vegan/vegetarian fusion dishes. That's the only way I can describe it. End results were phenomenal. At the time, they had peanut ginger soup, strawberry spring roll, red curry mac and cheese, and panang curry. Actually, I believe they still have the panang curry, which might look slightly different. I recommend getting that curry. Food was all flavorful, well proportioned, and the presentation was beautiful. None of them were spicy, just savory and scrumptious. They should keep the mac and cheese and peanut ginger soup as permanent items. Service from that bartender was excellent. Prices were decent. Food wise, you can't go wrong with any of them. I hope they kept up with the consistency these days. Overall a 3 because I have to factor in the negative experience.

Best foodie spot in Folly. Easily and hands down. Comfort food with a healthy lean along with an Asian twist. Dinner there one night where we split an asparagus strawberry salad that included spinach, honey mustard dressing & and big smear of homemade dill ricotta cheese. Big serving and I licked the plate. Also split garbanzo & lentil curry that we added andouille sausage to. Comes w Naan and we again left nothing in bowl. We were stuffed. 2 days later we stopped by for a cocktail (my wife really liked a jalapeño tacquilla drink they make) and we split a bowl of red curry Mac & cheese. Wow. Folly is not exactly a food destination but this place is the best. Nice folks work here to boot!!!!

Jack of Cups Saloon offers dive bar vibes with outstanding dishes! The staff was fantastic, and we had a blast exploring the menu. It's a perfect spot to spend some time on Folly. I tried the special grilled cheese with bacon and mango chutney, along with the Ethiopian lentil curry and naan. Both dishes were delicious, but the star of the show was definitely the Ube Cheesecake! It's a must-try! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be a bit tricky, as is common in Folly, but it's worth the effort. Overall, Jack of Cups Saloon is a great spot for good food and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Amazing food options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free eaters! Even for the omnivores - my boyfriend loved his chicken salad sandwich! The cocktails were excellent too, so many cool options including Brazilian rum and Pisco! Service super friendly and attentive. We got our food and drinks really quickly! Highly recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Folly Beach!

I dream of this restaurant when I am not there! The food is always amazing and exciting and new! I hesitate to even leave a review because I don't want it to get too popular and change at all. A perfect beachside humble restaurant that really does put all their effort into the food and it shows! The menu might look intimidating or wild, but don't sleep on this place! Can't wait to go back

Super cute. Limited signage so you may miss it out front but that would be a mistake. Innovative and fresh food. Cool back outdoor seating with a canopy and fans. Also a small bar area out back. Reasonable prices for something different at the beach when you have had enough crab shack stuff

This was an AMZING brunch/lunch spot. We were given a recommendation by a local tour guide to go here. It was casual but entirely elevated feeling with fusion in each dish. Plenty of options to customize for your dietary needs, many vegan, veggie, and GF options on the menu. I also got the Lima bean Turkish curry and it was outstanding. Sooo comforting but rich in flavor and composition. Seriously, so we'll thought out. I wish I lived nearby. Ambiance was cute, mostly outdoor seating but lots of fans and shade so facilitate that. I will miss this place. If you're in folly beach, EAT HERE!

I wasn't expecting a cool fusion restaurant in the middle of a honky tonk beach street, but here it is. Surprisingly unusual flavors prepared perfectly in a fun environment served quickly. The servers were cool and knowledgeable, able to answer any questions we had We started with the nachos. Forget everything you know about nachos. We had saag paneer nachos with short ribs. It was so delicious. It is not covered in melted cheese like in those chain texmex joints. It is flavorful, delicate and oh so filling. I have to emphasize the filling aspect. Three of us split the nachos and we barely ate dinner! My daughter had a few bites of her Mac and Cheese (made with porter beer and Dijon mustard) with short rib, pronounced it to be the best Mac and cheese she ever ate, and then told us she was too full to eat it! It made a great lunch the next day. I had the pulled pork lettuce wraps the next day. And my wife really savored the cold noodle bowl for lunch too. All excellent with unusual flavors. Try for the outside patio in the back. The ambiance is fun and cool. Inside is a tad dark, but had less of a wait.

I will forever give Jack of Cups five star reviews!! The seasonal menu change is always such an exciting time to see what's up next, but always so sad to see some favorites go. I've never tried anything here that is short of amazing from soups to mezze platters to entrees to cocktails! Dog friendly patio and outdoor bar right on Center St? Sign me up!

I visited Jack of Cups Saloon for the 1st time for a friend's birthday, and the food was delicious! They have a great vegetarian and drink menu. I got a grilled cheese sandwich with chips, which has a unique flavor. Friendly staff with great customer service! A very laid-back vibe on Folly Beach. Will return in the future.

Visiting from out of town and I was glad that my wife wanted to check out this place because we also got to make a day of it in Folly Beach. My wife wanted somewhere with vegan options, and this place did it well. I ordered the Thai Panang Curry, because I always love a good curry. This one was pretty good. We also had some dips and the pita was super soft. Our server was great and we really enjoyed sitting outside and people watch as all the cars drove by. If you're looking for a cool place to check out, this is your spot!

Such incredible food! I still think about the green soup, weeks later! Sweet, hidden back seating area. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Highly recommend, especially if you're dining with a vegetarian. Looks like a total dive but the food is fantastic. Small inside, just 4 booths but a very large seating area outside with heaters. I had the impossible meatloaf with a side of soup. It was delish on thick Texas toast with an awesome sauce. My non vegetarian husband got the spam sliders and the gnocchi with beef. He was in love with the gnocchi and beef, and really enjoyed the spam. It's so hard to find restaurants with a vegetarian selection so I was so happy that we both loved our food. We would absolutely go back.

Food was delish! A small but clever menu. I had the pad Thai gnocchi. Still dreaming about it. It's a top reason to return to James Island soon!

I've been coming here since 2015 & every time I try something new it doesn't disappoint! Service is always top notch & being close to the beach helps too! They put effort into each dish & the flavor comes out unmatched. It's an eclectic menu that should definitely be had!

This is the coolest food on the island. On a strip of mediocre touristy restaurants, Jack of Cups brings an extremely appreciated unique menu to the island. Everything I've had here is incredible. It's great drinking food, or day after drinking food, or just great food in general that makes you feel cozy. The vibe is quaint; the inside is small with 4 booths and a larger patio out back. The building is one of the smallest on the Main Street and almost totally unmarked as being a restaurant. It's awesome. Will be back over and over when I'm in folly.

A fantastic spot!! Food is very flavorful, exciting, and worldly. Drink selection is exceptional. I have been here about 8 times and have never had a bad dish or drink. Vegetarian and vegan forward with a thoughtful consideration for meat eaters. Everything here is going to be delicious. Like their website says, it's one of those places that is great if you have a party of 3-6 because most dishes are shareable. I recommend getting a fully loaded soup and make sure to ask for a naan bread for dipping. Mwah! Servers are really awesome, knowledgeable, and great at what they do. Rotating menu so don't expect them to know everything on the fly, and trust me that it's best to go with your gut and what sounds best to you anyways here. Every drink and dish is very unique and delightful. They have seating inside but I recommend sitting out back. The tables might seem like they were built by pirates, but that's part of the vibe that lets you know this place does things the old school way in the kitchen. Rustic old world comfort food made with care and a thoughtful modern spinZ When you eat a meal off these pirate tables, you will feel like you have traveled back in time as the flavors of of the world travel through you. Overall a spectacular little spot. Highly recommend!

We went to Folly Beach to shop and decided to have lunch at Jack of Cups Saloon. It was fairly quiet and the waitperson was personable and kind. We ordered the captain crunch deviled eggs, summer corn chowder and Argentinian lentil stew. Those eggs! They sound weird but taste like heaven. I could've had a few orders! The summer corn chowder was fresh and delicious. The Argentinian lentil stew was full of flavor. We usually go to Jack of Cups for dinner but lunch is a great time to go. They change their menu on a fairly regular basis and it's always delicious! Jack of Cups is a hidden gem in the Charleston area!

BEST Restaurant on Folly. I'm a resident here and I love fresh food. This place is phenomenal, quality and diversity in menu come first. They switch up the menu seasonally so it's never boring. Staff is in excellent spirits and it's a laid back beach atmosphere.

How have I not yet written a review of jack of cups?! They're my favorite restaurant ever. Of any town I've lived in, hands down the best menus and the best food. I love that their menu changes seasonally - there are always new dishes and specials to try. As of 2021 they expanded their back patio to have an outdoor bar and lots of outdoor tables. Some of my favorite meals I've had here include any of their Mac dishes (red curry or green curry Mac) and the cashew korma served as nachos is absolutely delicious. They also have a great beer and drink menu - lots of local drinks available. I recommend this place to everyone I know, whether they're local or just visiting. Don't go here if you want some greasy pizza or boring burgers - go here for really delicious food you can't get anywhere else!

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The place was visibly dirty and there were gnats everywhere. The food, a kimchi grilled cheese, actually looked good when it arrived. But it didn't taste good. It was cheesy, but the kimchi had a weird chemical taste, not spicy or super sour like I'm used to. Luckily I had lost my appetite before it arrived so I didn't leave hungry.

In the endless of grief seafood places on Folly, Jack of cups separated itself with tasty and inventive Indian food, near the beach. I wasnt expecting it when we sat down, but one look at the menu made it clear we were not getting fried fish and she crab soup. I started with the Turmeric Mango Tango house made drink. We ordered Curry Trio and the Green Curry Mac and Cheese. Both were delicious, an absolute explosion of flavor in our mouths. The trio would hand been enough for them two of us, but we found room to destroy the Mac and cheese as well. Highly recommended. The only reason it didn't get five stars - when it comes to decor, it's a real beach town dive. Not fancy in the least.

I'm not sure I have ever tried something here I did not like. I often think I'm ordering one thing and get something even better but I have never left here without my taste buds being blown out of this universe with flavor! Service is always impeccable with suggestions and friendly service. The inside and outside have both been remodeled a couple times since I started coming here but the ambiance remains chill and casually beachy.

Immaculate. Delicious food, good vibes, good service. Didn't google beforehand so we were pleasantly surprised to find out the food is Thai and Asian inspired. We were literally licking the bowls afterwards! We got Pumpkin Curry Soup with a scoop of rice & naan, and the broccoli soup for starters, which was delicious. We also got the Panang Curry i believe, and my partner got something else that we cannot remember the name of! All SO so good. We will be returning before we leave Folly!

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. Come in with an open mind and you'll enjoy the ride. Tapas style highly recommended. You'll eat a vegetarian meal without even noticing. The servers are friendly and helpful. Highly highly recommend.

Great spot near folly beach. It doesn't look like much inside or out but it is phenomenal. The dill pickle soup was my favorite part of my meal. The service is wonderful as well. Can't wait to come back.

The place is cute and cozy. Food hit the spot- nothing fancy. The chicken looked amazing and I will come back for it! The staff were very nice and friendly! Mussels were good and so were the sides. Went for a drink and some snacks. Since they are located across the street from a church they don't have hard liquor with high proof. They do however make a Bloody Mary I hear is really good from lower proof alcohol that I would also come back and try!

Phenomenal food, eclectic décor, and friendly staff await you at Jack Of Cups. It's kind of like a speakeasy though: there is no sign letting you know that you are there. It's well worth a visit.

Jack of Cups is always a superb place to go for delicious and colorful dishes! Everything I've had has been so flavorful. The only downside is that it's small, but it's worth it if you can get s table.

Okay I went with a group of friends and I am not going to lie we were quite skeptical. We weren't sure what to expect when we saw the name saloon but then the fusion food items really threw us for a loop. I have to say it wasn't what I expected at all but in the best way possible! We had channa and paneer curry which isn't traditional but absolutely delicious. The nacho curry is a must! I also got green curry Mac and cheese. I'd love to see a protein added to it or something but by itself I think it was still quite filling. It has a good kick so if you're not a fan of spicy I'd avoid it. The dumplings and eggs were good but I'd probably treat them as appetizers rather than a full entree. Either way it was a fun experience I'm so glad we were brave and checked this place out. Extra points for the hilarious decor

You're not likely to notice this place as you walk by, but we saw some positive Yelp reviews and decided it would be worth the search. The menu offerings are unique, and both dishes we had were very tasty. The laid back atmosphere, quirky decor, friendly staff, and excellent playlist just added to our good experience. We'll definitely be back.

A hidden gem!!! We started with drinks that were so yummy and ordered the arugula and burrata cheese salad and it was amazing; one of my favorite dishes I have ever tried. We ordered the butter chicken and curry next that were just as good; the fresh pita bread was my favorite!! One of my new favorite restaurants in Charleston!!

Fun outdoor seating (ample; shaded; bohemian) South and East Asian inspired / eclectic menu. Plentiful vegan options available. We got edamame, dumpling noodle bowl, and peanut soup (all made vegan) l. The peanut soup was the best we've ever had. Ever! Everything else was good too! Nice service. Gender neutral bathroom. Primarily vegetarian menu and paper straws, environmentally and ethically conscious. Great find in Folly. Reasonable prices. Street parking. Cool decor. Great music for old souls, hippies, classic rock and psychedelic lovers alike. Came for lunch and would absolutely return.

Fantastic food in a very cool, divey, central Folly Beach spot. Went back 3 times in 4 days. Get the peanut soup, cold noodle bowl and the curry nachos with short rib. Badass food and nice folks.

This place has a unique, cozy interior and they provide outdoor seating as well. The service was a little slow, but please try to be understanding since a lot of businesses are facing staff shortages. The food was amazing. The menu provides really interesting options that cater to everyone's needs (good vegetarian options). Everything we got was filled with flavor and seemed like it took time for them to curate the flavors of the dish. Will definitely be back even if it is far away from us!

With such a unique menu (that is constantly changing) I was shocked when our waiter wouldn't make recommendations, claiming it was all great. Well- he wasn't wrong! Every single drink and food item I tried (which there were many, being shared among friends) was legitimately one of the best things I'd ever eaten/drank. We each narrowed down our order to 3 choices, and he helped us decide from there which to go with. Curry nachos, pad Thai impossible burger, ramen max & cheese, grilled cheese, pretzel bites, bulgogi cheesesteak... all absolutely out of this world. Head bartender is a genius, I cannot get over how unique and flavorful his drink creations were. We were recommended this place by a professional chef, so gave it a try with little knowledge of what to expect, but this unsuspecting saloon on the main strip of folly beach is worth the stop in, I promise. I just wish I was a local so I could try another iteration of the menu!
