The wait staff was great. The fried mushrooms are so good but they're Giant. In the future I wouldn't get such a large order. I did the pick two entrees with two sides. Definitely got my money's worth. I got the burnt ends with the barbecue brisket very well quotes nice taste nice barbecue sauce not overdone. Excellent recommendations by our server. I would definitely go here again. There was a 45-minute wait if you're going to eat here I would definitely make reservations or call ahead. My bill was $80 that was with tip and I had two mixed drinks and an appetizer and a pick two entree meal. I had two meals out of it. Portions were big and the breaded and fried mushrooms were the biggest I've ever seen. The wait staff was very accommodating. They were on top of our needs and refills.

This was my second time in KC and second time at Jack Stack. This time I brought friends, and they all loved it! This is still one of my all-time favorite BBQ establishments anywhere. The Burnt Ends are delicious. The Jalapeno Corn Bread is so good. Love the beans and everything else on the menu. All of the meat dishes are top tier and highly recommended for BBQ lovers.

Our Waiter Quinn was amazing, he was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Gluten free menu offered many great choices. The manager Tyler let us know they ran out of gluten free buns, but went and got some for our order. They both went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional.

My uncle, mother, and family friends went to the Plaza location today and really enjoyed ourselves. It was a good idea for us to check if we could make reservations online as we needed one and we are so glad it was available. We were sat after running a few minutes late and greeted by our amazing server. She got us our water and jalaprño cornbread and shrimp appetizers. The cornbread was decent, but the shrimp with this spicy tomato based sauce was so good--with little hints of spice and sweetness. For our entree we decided to share the feast for four which came with more meat than I was expecting along with a mix of their classic and signature sides. For a few dollars more you can get a signature side, which we chose broccoli. I was overwhelmed by just the meat alone and it took me a while to dig in. I got a little bit of everything minus a rib. I really loved the grilled chicken--it fell right off the bone, literally. I wish that our sides (we got beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and broccoli) were as ample as the meat as each got a very small spoonful of the sides. We ended up having to order another side of broccoli as what was brought out was not enough for one let alone five. Overall our visit was great. As a suggestion I would have lazy Suzannes for each table to help with serving. Also, there is a great need to regularly replace the soap in the bathroom--otherwise it is very nice.

This is more of a chain than actual authentic BBQ. If you want authentic barbecue you should probably go somewhere else. But if you're in Kansas City and you just want a good restaurant to go to, this is a good staple. The atmosphere is okay, great location in the plaza, and the food is good. But I wouldn't say it's delicious, stupendous, or out of the ordinary. We had a few problems with our meals. Things weren't done as we asked, the server forgot a few things, but they did make up for it and took some things off our receipt. Again, it isn't absolutely amazing, but it's pretty good. I don't know if I would go again though.

Intimate | Excellent Service | Great bites We went as a group of four, making a reservation 2 hours before we wanted to be seated. We walked in, and were seated within 5 minutes. Our server, Jack, was the selling point of the night. From delicious recommendations and a warm smile to start us off to ensuring we got each subsequent round of drinks and still checked if we saved room for dessert. Our table’s only complaint from food was that the filet mignon did not come out medium as ordered but rather well. We didn’t let it hinder our night because the drinks were absolutely perfect. The ratio, flavor, and chill were just what our group was needing before heading to our night out in the town. As far as the atmosphere, we didn’t like how loud it was, making it somewhat difficult to talk to those across the table. It also was difficult to navigate to the restroom due to the layout of the tables in front of the hall.

Google
The pork and beef burnt ends were stellar. I had the turkey and baby back ribs. The turkey was pretty basic, but the ribs were spot on. My wife had the loaded baked potato with pulled pork. It was a hit. Sides were broccoli with parm, baked beans, and their creamed corn. All three were good, with the beans being the best Overall a good experience but would not have the corn or the turkey again.

There’s not much that needs to be said — just go and eat here! Today I ordered the KC Combo Pick 3 with sausage, burnt ends, and back ribs, along with a side of cheesy corn. Every item was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. However, I have to mention that the atmosphere was noticeably darker than usual this time. It felt a bit too dim for my taste, which took away from the overall dining experience. Still, the food alone makes it worth the visit. 05/29/2025 What can I say! It was amazing once again. This time, I went with my classics — burnt ends and baby back ribs. On the side, I had fries and added some mac and cheese as well. I used to think the best fries in KC were at other spots, but the ones here are just as good. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was visiting Kansas City for a few days for work and looked forward to trying their legendary barbecue and brisket. I'm from Hawaii, and "Hawaiian" barbecue is heavy on shoyu--which is funny, because I went from the Shoyu State to the Show Me State! I normally don't eat at chains, but Jack Stack is so close to my hotel and I've heard good things. My colleagues and I decided to come here for dinner, and let me tell you, this place blew our expectations out of the water! Our server was extremely friendly and on top of things. No need to worry about service here, they got you. For dinner we had the 'Cue For Four Jack's Best: smoked prime rib, baby back ribs, sausage and burnt ends plus potato salad, hickory beans, cheesy corn bake, and french fries. We were glad that we didn't order appetizers, because we were STUFFED, and two of us (myself included) are big eaters. The prime rib fell off the bone, just as the server promised. The restaurant is clean, modern and noise levels are moderate. For bigger guys, get a table instead of a booth.

Yelp
For lunch at Jack Stack I devoured the Monday special - Poor Russ Sandwich. It included a half pound of chopped beef, pork and sausage burnt ends. The meat was beautifully chopped and piled high all for $ 13.50 with fries. The sandwich was a little salty but otherwise great. The fries were merely average. I think Jack Stack could come up with better home fries. I also had smoked jalapeno cornbread. It came with honey butter. It was fantastic. Service was great. Friendly and attentive. The Plaza location is really lovely. It's a nice ambiance.

Yelp
Jack Stack's did NOT disappoint! We ordered our food and it came out fresh and fresh in o time. The restaurant waa loud with all the customers, but not annoyingly! Our waiter, Laken was great! He's only been here 3 weeks; however, he was on top of things, personable and funny!

Yelp
Surprisingly tasty. Two of us stopped by after the shopping walk around the plaza. Pretty packed around 6:30pm. Make your reservation if you want to dine at the dinner time. We started with a spinach salad then combo with trio:lamb ribs, beef burnt ends, and baby back ribs. All so delicious. I'd make a disclaimer that I'm not a typical BBQ fan. The lamb ribs were so tender and flavorful. A tiny bit on salty side so didn't need any sauce. Baby back ribs were equally tender and needed a bit sauce. Beef burnt ends were a bit drier however paired up great with the sauce. Spinach salad was the perfect balance for the meat. A perfect dinner for me. Highly recommended

Yelp
Great adventure. Downtown parking on a early Sunday afternoon was easy. The skillet Jalapeño Cheese cornbread was a great appetizer. More than enough for 4 people and a infant. We had the loaded baked potato, the burnt end entree with fries and baked beans that were brimming with pork, beef and sausage. The burnt ends were fork, falling apart tender pieces of meat, wow! The dipping sauce was mouth watering delicious with just a slight hint of vinegar. Over the moon awesome, could have drank it out of the container. Christopher our server was total efficient, and took care of beverages and food without effort. He had great recommendations for what we were interested in eating. Definitely the best BBQ I've ever eaten. This will be a favorite location for a return visit. My visit will be a two twirling forks up review , and definitely worth the experience and ambience!

Yelp
Food: got the Roundup, which was a great sampler. It's a lot of food for two people, but finish-able. The beans were particularly good. The sauce comes out in tiny ramekins (not a squeeze bottle). Service: Food came out quickly. Ambiance: Someone described Jack Stack as a BBQ restaurant and Joe's as a BBQ joint. That makes a lot of sense, as Jack Stack feels like a sit-down chain restaurant. There are probably lots of different kinds of BBQ experiences in the Kansas City area. Sat at a table near the bar. It was pretty loud with (drunk?) people. There was a piece of carpet that had been stuck onto the bottom of the table. Not sure why, not sure I want to know why... All in all, pretty tasty food.

Yelp
Nothing brings on more debate than BBQ. Whether it's about where it's from... Texas, KC, or STL or the sauce, or how it's cooked. But I love Jack Stack! I love other places too, but this place has delivered both of the times I've eaten here and we had a big group of eaters. Everyone loved their meals. My favorite here are the Burnt Ends, but you can't go wrong with any of their entrees. We will be back and I will continue to recommend it to friends.

Yelp
So close, but not a 5 star BBQ joint. I went twice this week. Once by myself and the next night with a group of eight from our meeting. Everyone raved about the sides, but the reviews of the meats are hit and miss. I had both beef and pork burnt ends the first night. They were tasty, but honestly the burnt ends at True Texas BBQ (in many HEBs) are better. And the sauce is on the sweet side. The second night I had pulled pork and smoked turkey. The pork was good, but I agreed with my colleague that the turkey tasted like deli smoked turkey. The sides were very good. The cheesy corn is very addictive. Like thick cheese soup with sweet corn. And the potato bake is an au gratin of sorts made with thin sliced red potatoes. Quite delicious. Service was good on both nights.

Yelp
The food is average at best for a BBQ and seems they like to think it's worth its weight in gold from the atmosphere. Would eat again but not going out of my way to eat there Bartenders acted like I was a burden being there, they didn't seem to want to be there either

Yelp
Jack Stack did not disappoint! Growing up in Texas, I'm picky about BBQ, but this place took me right back home. so many people recommended it and now I totally understand why. It's more upscale than your typical BBQ joint, a mix between classy and cozy. I'd dress a little nicer, but nothing too fancy. Service was a bit slow, but our waitress was so sweet and me and my boyfriend were just enjoying each other's company so we didn't mind. Now, the food was INSANE. The pulled pork mac and cheese was so delicious and my boyfriend's burnt ends and brisket seriously melted in your mouth. If you're in KC, do not skip over this place!

Yelp
Coming to Kansas City, you have to try the BBQ! But my wife did not like the idea of a grab and go, but rather a sitting, chilling with an upscale vibe. Enter Jack Stack, located in the trendy downtown shopping area district. The restaurant has a steakhouse feel, yet also an easygoing. The staff is friendly, and surprisingly the food is fast. We had the beef tips and sausage appetizer (good flavor. Small size so you won't spoil your dinner) great flavor Food was delicious with wife having the Lamb ribs (a bit too oily and too salty for her taste) but good flavor. I was ravenous, so I had the a trio of beef ribs, baby back ribs, and brisket with a side of their cheesy potato (it's potato gratin) and a side of the crown beef ribs (added charge). The brisket was ok, a bit dry for my taste but tasty. Beef ribs and crown beef rib were really good. The price is reasonable for the area, comparable to a mid steak house. A recommend.

Yelp
Our hotel recommended Jack Stack, so we decided to order online and try the two-meat plate with lamb ribs, beef burnt ends, and a spinach salad. We picked it up at the Plaza location. They have a few designated curbside spots, but the carryout entrance is at a different door. Once you're near the restaurant, you have to check in on your phone to let them know you've arrived but the app showed an error when I did that. So I went inside the restaurant. We were a couple of minutes early, but as soon as we walked in and gave our name, our order was ready. The beef burnt ends were pretty tasty, rich and flavorful, with a bit of fat, which is to be expected. The lamb ribs, on the other hand, were quite fatty with a chewy membrane or skin on top, which made them less enjoyable. We won't be getting the lamb again. The salad was average with spinach, a few slices of strawberry that were soft and squishy meaning they were old. The spicy barbecue sauce has a nice heat and good flavor. Overall, we're glad we gave it a try!

Yelp
Went for lunch and got the BBQ for two platter so we could try as much as possible. The platter came with turkey breast, pulled pork, brisket and ribs. Sides included cheesy corn, baked beans and coleslaw. It was realistically more like at least 4 servings of food. My husband and I hardly bit a dent in it for lunch and enjoyed the leftovers just as much I always look forward to mac n cheese with bbq so I was disappointed to not see it on the menu but I didn't miss it when I tried the cheesy corn. The brisket was our favorite meat and all the sides were too good to choose a favorite. Service was also very good and atmosphere was quite elevated for a bbq joint! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Overall not bad for a chain. I will say eating BBQ in a place that tries to be upscale and doesn't throw white bread on your meat is a little wierd. I almost didn't like it but the food was incredible, especially the potatoe salad wierldy. The sauce and the beef rib was delicious. Burnt beef ends as well. My two complaints are that the service wasn't incredibly welcoming and the baby back ribs were hella dry. Overall not a bad meal but also will definitely try a different place while I'm in town.

Yelp
fantastic food, service and ambience. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar. Service was fast and efficient. Ordered an order of three onion rings. I think this is genius. By the way, the trio platter with pork burnt ends, brisket, and beef burnt ends in a loaded baked potato. Everything was delicious extremely well priced and very large that platter could've easily serve two maybe three I had plenty of leftovers. this may be my favorite spot right now in Kansas City for barbecue.

Yelp
This time, we did the Jack Stack to-go. We did it as a "pick up cold and serve later" option. We had all the meats and a number of sides. My gosh....we had about 12 hours later....and it was fantastic BBQ. Jack Stack never misses in delivering a consistency great BBQ experience. And nobody tops their sides!

Okra W.

Yelp
Good BBQ. Good selection. VERY busy (and very loud) but one can see why. Service was good. We had ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends. All very tasty, about as good as any BBQ place that I have been around the country (but no better than the other really good ones). The slaw was tasty but a little wet. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
First timers to Kansas City! We were told by many people to come here.....so glad we did. It was absolutely my favorite place ever! Sat at the bar, it was clean, comfortable and nice ambiance. The two ladies working the bar were so nice and engaged in great conversation. The food.....BEST BBQ EVER. Nice and hot! Flavorful, and the best bbq I've ever had. We bought 4 of the sauces! Very well priced, great service, and outstanding food! We will be back! Thank you for working so hard!

Yelp
Lateee review alert (oops) I came here about a month ago as a tourist to the KC area and wanted some good barbecue. And that is what I got! The interior is very classy, with a bit of a steakhouse vibe. For the midafternoon (2:30-3 pm) window, it was rather busy, which is always a good sign. Service still moved quite quickly. I ordered a choose your own plate ($17?) with pork ribs and beef brisket. Both were absolutely amazing! I am a bit remiss that I don't remember more of my visit now. Oops again. I think though that I would frequent this location if I were a KC local.

Yelp
Jack Stack is probably my new favorite bbq spot. The ambiance is similar to Cheesecake Factory but for bbq. We ordered the following: Kansas City Combo (5/5): we chose brisket, burnt ends, and beef ribs. Subbed the fries for 2 sides- cheesy corn bake & beans. Everything about this was perfect. The meats were tender and flavorful. The cheesy corn bake was rich and cheesy with sweetness from the corn. The baked beans were sweet and complimented the meats well. Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese App (5/5): probably my favorite mac and cheese. Noodles had a good bite. The combo of the cheese sauce, pulled pork and sweet bbq sauce on top... I would get this as an entree next time! Portion sizes were generous. We arrived very hungry and left with some bites for lunch the next day. Service was good, didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out. Parking is easy, there is a free parking structure right across the restaurant. Highly recommended for your next bbq craving!

Yelp
Jack Stack's burnt ends are delicious. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with a rich smoky depth that proves these pitmasters know what they're doing. Each bite hits the sweet spot between bark and brisket, with perfectly rendered fat and a bold rub that balances sweetness, spice, and hickory tastes. The service is quick and straightforward. The ambience of the location is easily accessible, especially with their carry-out. Highly recommended if you've never had burnt ends before and somehow you're in the area.

Yelp
It's a cool Kansas City establishment that's easily accessible. The atmosphere is a nicer casual sit down that kind of reminds you of a chain. Service was friendly and fast considering how busy they were. We got the 4 person meal that did adequately feed 5-6 (depends on how you count children) with a side of burnt ends. The burnt ends appetizers did seem small but with everything together it was more than enough. The BBQ overall was good. The meat was juicy, ribs peeled off the bone clean but weren't falling apart and we're probably my favorite. Chicken was juicy and flavorful, brisket was good. Overall it's a good standard for BBQ.

Yelp
Well, was the food good! I'm blown away as to how delicious every single thing was to start off with a waiter was amazing. He was such a gentleman and helped us. Choose the best items for us. My friend chose a combo of lamb and beef ribs, along with a creamed corn. I had the beef brisket sandwich with a baked potato. We both tried each other's food, and everything was fabulous. The food came out very rapidly, and we were quite surprised. Everything was hot and had a full smoky flava. Fantastic. I had a mock tail which had smoked ginger and pineapple in it delicious. The restaurant is clean and very spaced out. We could barely see any of the other people eating at the restaurant, even though the restaurant was relatively full. You can see through the kitchens and see your food being prepared. Everything is very clean and organize. The absolute best part? The warm carrot cake. Oh my God. Probably the best carrot cake I have ever eaten. It had warm melted frosting that was not overly sweet. I recommend one dessert between two or more people. It's huge. When in Kansas City, Jack Stack should be your first stop!

Yelp
Ambiance - fine dining bbq. It's a really nice restaurant to be a bbq spot. Service was good, nothing special but definitely not bad at all. Food - driest beef brisket ever! Didn't bother sending back but also couldn't stand to eat it. But oh my goodness the lamb ribs were out of this world! It was so flavorful and had the right amount of saltiness.

Yelp
This is an iconic BBQ location. It was KC Masterpiece when Dr Rich Davis was opening and running a series of upscale BBQ restaurants. Jack Stack took the location over and opened yet another stellar BBQ location. KC needs more BBQ restaurants (there are never enough) and we need premier location like this to promote the quality of KC BBQ! Enjoy KC BBQ here or at any one of the Jack Stack locations. BTW best Coleslaw in the city.

Yelp
Greta barbecue! Loved the jalapeño cornbread to start and never thought I could get my salmon barbecued but you can here and it is delicious.

Yelp
Excellent brisket and pulled pork, but the beef burnt ends were superb! Service was quick and our waiter was attentive and informative.

Yelp
For whatever reason I've been avoiding Jack Stack in the 10-ish year span I've been coming to KC for work. Maybe I ate it on the first trip, didn't like it, and just forgot. Maybe someone told me they didn't like it. Maybe it wasn't convenient to where my building and hotel were. Maybe I just got addicted to how someone else makes their BBQ and didn't want to change. Whatever the reason was, it was valid because I didn't have a good dinner at Jack Stack on this trip and I'm not planning on giving it another chance. I didn't have any issues getting a reservation or table, and they were pretty full when I arrived, and the waitress was attentive, even though I was taking a bit longer to decide on what I wanted. Unfortunately, the problem I had is the food just wasn't very good. I ordered the Burnt Ends platter with fries and beans. The fries were so salty, or whatever that seasoning is, that I couldn't eat half of them. The beans were reall good, confirming some of the other reviews that they have good sides, but the meat was bad and that's the whole point of coming to a BBQ joint. My burnt ends were the Beef & Pork combo, and it was an odd combination of overly fatty and dry at the same time, all without most of the meat having any bark at all. Overall, disappointing, and if I hadn't ordered the beans and hadn't had good service the rating would have been a 2.

Yelp
I came in with a party of four on a Sunday afternoon, ready to give Kansas barbecue a try for the first time. Right from the start, I had a feeling it was going to be a solid experience. We started with onion rings, which seem to be the go-to appetizer here. They're served on a vertical stand like a paper towel holder, which gives them kind of a funny look. I thought that the onion rings were good, though I'd personally still prefer other finger foods like simple fries. For the main course, we went with Jack's Best, which is a massive spread for a family of four. Be prepared for a food coma because the portions and heaviness are no joke. The beef and pork ribs were fantastic - tender, smoky, and flavorful. The sausage and burnt ends were solid additions too, though they could've had a bit more texture and flavor. As for the sides, the beans were on the sweeter side, and the cheesy corn was maybe... a bit too cheesy? They were still good and I'd clean them up perfectly fine. Service was friendly and surprisingly very quick for the amount of food that we ordered. Since this is a well-established chain, I expected reliable service, and they did not disappoint. There's always room for improvement, but overall, it was a great experience. I'd definitely consider coming back again.

Yelp
Soooo I really wanted to give Jack Stack's a 4/5 or 5/5, but when the sides are the best part of the meal, it just felt like a little bit of a let down. My husband and I both wanted a crown beef rib and a little variety, so we threw caution to the wind and ordered the "Jack's Best" family meal for 4. (So many leftovers!) The meat was dry. We both couldn't even get the beef burnt ends down - not sure if they had been sitting out on a counter for awhile or are meant to be slathered in a bucket of sauce, but it was pretty disappointing. The crown beef ribs were large and in-charge looking, but it honestly just tasted like roast beef...and I can buy a lot of roast beef for the price we paid for just one of the beef ribs! The cheesy corn was good and their fries were the highlight for me. Suggestion - offer a smoked or seasoned fries option and maybe a house-made ketchup instead of just the bottle of store-bought ketchup? If your fries are the star of the show, at least juzz them up! Service was friendly but they were super busy - so definitely reserve your table ahead of time and then treat your waiter right so they don't forget about you in the crowd.

Yelp
Hubby wanted to try this place, so I made reservations for 15. They were very accommodating in getting us in when I called at 1pm of the day we wanted to dine. They advised us of a 10-15 minute wait until our table was ready. Ordered a spicy margarita, had what looked like black salt on the rim, was just ok. Ordered the KC special with beef brisket (sliced thin), burnt ends and smoked sausage with potato salad. Was very good with generous portions. Everyone was satisfied and left full with to-go bags. Typical BBQ joint except they take your order and serve you. We had a section to ourselves basically. So glad we were able to tick this off our bucket list! You will not be disappointed

Yelp
In town for the game and did some shopping and then found this place nearby for lunch. We walked right in and sat at the bar and had a great experience. Bartenders were very friendly and so were patrons. I had the pulled pork Mac and cheese and my husband did the combo with brisket and ribs with a side of broccoli. Everything was absolutely delicious! Great restaurant with a cool vibe, would definitely recommend! Also their BBQ sauce and ranch are both SO yummy!

Yelp
Served at the bar. Ambiance is chill. Hannah was my server and she handled everything perfectly! Agave Bloom is a new menu item... all I needed was 1 Love their portion size of potatoes so made it simple with Barbecue Stuffed potato with burnt ends as meat choice! This did not disappoint.. even added bacon.. no salt or anything else needed! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

Yelp
The food is amazing! This is great BBQ, I was visiting from California and I would highly recommend for great food and the service is impeccable.

Yelp
Great BBQ before our Kauffman Arts Center concert. The place & plaza was packed due to Arrowhead game this weekend. Food was great & the efficient operation moved folks in & out without feeling rushed. Awesome service w Hannah. Ribs & pulled pork plus Mac cheese was wonderful. Free parking garage across street to the west.

Yelp
Nothing like Kansas City BBQ in Kansas City. Perfect burnt ends and brisket. I prefer the honey bbq sauce personally. Service was awesome. Each location is different and the one on the plaza has a cute small outdoor sidewalk seating too. Reservations recommended especially for large parties.

Yelp
Our server Jose was extremely helpful with the menu. His service overall was incredible! You recommended the broccoli as a side and you said "this place killed it" and you are spot on! Best broccoli ever! We ordered Cue For Two. Had no idea we could opt in different meat than what the menu offered. Again thanks to Jose for the suggestions! We had ribs, brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends! It was spectacular!!!! The price right! If you're a team of two, this is the way to go. Everything in the plate was out of this world DELICIOUS! I'll be dreaming of burnt ends for the rest of my life! We sat in a booth by the bar and it was cozy. Fun watching die hard bbq-ers enjoying their meal. With the outstanding service and utterly delicious food, this place is a solid 5 stars (plus)!!!

Yelp
We got a Jack's Best takeout box for our family. Parking and entrance to the takeout area were super easy and the order was ready when they said it would be. The meat was the best part and essential for a good barbecue spot! The crown prime beef ribs and short ribs work excellent and fill off the bone. The sausage was just okay, pretty mild, not much flavor. The burnt ends were very tender. Mac and cheese was decent, creamy. Cheesy corn was good, has ham in it. Coleslaw was okay, but not very creamy. We didn't like the beans.

Yelp
Note: Missing Review(s)...plural. what's up with that Yelp? In anticipation of a future trip to KC,it crossed my mind to check out my favorite BBQ joint there! On Yelp and see how things are going. I was shocked to find my multiple reviews missing! Bummer. But,it appears they are still rocking and I'm super happy about that. A short walk from my hotel on the Plaza and I'm dining inside the best upscale Q joint I've ever visited. I discovered Jack Stack long before the nationwide love affair with Q began. Traditional BBQ joints have always been minimalist, counter order, seat of the pants places. So,when I stepped into Jack Stack for the first time I felt conflicted. Such as," all this isn't necessary" " I don't want sit down service" I don't need an upscale, white napkin environment " ! It was also the first time I ever bought BBQ that I thought was overpriced. All that changed after I finished my first meal. The real puzzle is this. I asked the gentleman that worked for me there to," take me to your favorite BBQ places and the ones you think are best. After a year and 10-12 places,I hadn't had anything I consider earth shattering. Then I went to Jack Stack. Wow....not only the traditional KC style was served but the best brisket outside of Texas. Looking at current reviews,my mouth is watering in an attempt to get back. Once again...where are my reviews Yelp! Go! Today

Yelp
Full disclosure: I ordered the brisket, absolutely a mistake. This is not a Texas Pit Barbecue. I am not a fan of plated limited portions barbecue. Now if you like a nice restaurant and to pretend you went to get barbecue then this is very nice up scale place. A tad bit bougie

Yelp
Went to a visit in KC for a Sonic Symphony with some friends. We wanted to get some bbq and googled around to find this place. I will say I'm used to bbq spots having a particular look, however coming here made us feel a lil upscale haha. It was almost like a nice steakhouse feel. We sat in a booth and it looked real nice inside. We were seated immediately and our drinks were placed in not too long after. We all were tempted by the different sweet teas so I ended up getting a White peach tea (the had like 3-4 choices, including strawberry and blueberry) I ordered a two meat plate with burnt ends and baby back ribs. Also had a side of broccoli, with Parmesan. They also gave us 3 different sauces, from mild to spicy. The ribs were tender and tasted good. The burnt ends were a bit dry but had good flavor. I'm a fan of the spicy bbq sauce. Broccoli was good as well! The service was great! I enjoyed the experience. I may go back for lamb ribs if I get a chance to go back to KC.

Yelp
Food - always good bbq Service - Consistently good, attentive but not overbearing Ambiance - on the Plaza and elsewhere a good dark-ish steakhouse vibe Ordered one of the 'Que for two' options - great value for 2 people - they have family meals as well for like $56 and above, about. Tasty and all good Pickles, Cheesy Corn, Burnt Ends, Sausage, Coleslaw, and their totally addictive, heavenly, Sole reason I like baked beans now, beans... This leads to, at least, two full stomachs! IF you be a vegetarian, Then you can enjoy their fried mushrooms, they have trout and salmon, all really good with bbq sauce (regular and spicy) on the side. Amongst cheesy corn and other tasty sides that can be really filling! Did I mention the awesome beans? They do have meat in them, not sure if you can get a pure beans only type, worth asking though....

Yelp
While we were out and about for some shopping in the area, we decided we wanted to hit up one of our favorite places for BBQ,Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ at Country Club Plaza. This location has a takeout pick up next to the restaurant, which is wonderful. We were able to place our order online, and pull in front of the take out door a few minutes later. For our dinner he chose chicken mixed plate with beans and sauce on the side, and brownie and ice cream for dessert. I chose the blackberry salmon with extra sauce, blackberries, and a spinach salad with fruit, cheese, spiced pecans and dressing. I chose the creme brulee with extra berries for dessert. Came back to our hotel and crashed for the rest of the night. I can highly recommend this to family and friends when they travel to Kansas City, because after, you can hop on their website, and order some of their famous bbq to be delivered to your home.

Yelp
My husband and I love Jack Stack and make it appoint to go there every time we are in town. However, we did try a new location and loved it. This is located in such a cute area. I also tried the spinach salad and loved it. I'll be ordering this going forward. It's the best BBQ in town.

Yelp
As a girl from Indiana, I'd never had burnt ends before but the platter for two was absolutely delicious! Tender, smoky, and full of flavor. We also got the beans and cheesy potatoes, and both were phenomenal. Great food, friendly service I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
The food is wonderful here. Friendly service despite a busy Thursday night. There is a parking garage across the street and we enjoyed a good walk after enjoying our ample portions and way too much sweet tea- it was sooo good. Definitely a staple place to visit in KC.

Yelp
***KC BBQ offers an abundance of options, but this slice of heaven rises above the pack. Once seated, stay there, because this staff moves about the restaurant. You have the option to choose shared platters to feed a couple, or entire table. Some of the sides are served before your meal, almost like appetizers. I felt so important as a customer here, it was truly a vibe. Sauces are great. My favorites were either the ribs, or the pit beans. I appreciated them keeping the membrane on the rib backing, so props to Jack. Phenomenal BBQ, exceptional service. An experience from start to finish***

Yelp
Visiting a friend and I'd never been to KC so she decided to take us here. I would call it more of an elevated bbq restaurant, sit down ordering with a full wine list. Our server Scott was friendly and helpful with recommendations. We ordered the brisket, beef burnt ends, and baby back ribs plus broccoli and potatoes for sides. My friend and I split a bottle of red wine which Scott suggested and paired well with the bbq. The food was delicious! I loved my first KC bbq experience.
