This place had a full parking lot so we knew it was going to be good! We ordered our food and got it right away so it was HOT and delicious! The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. We don’t really like to scan the QR code to order but it wasn’t a problem. We will definitely be back when in the area.

I'm a foodie I love to try new food and new places. The service was great. The vibe was good, very friendly. I was really looking forward to trying soul food for the first time and was recommended to this place by a friend. I ordered the fried wings and side of 2 Mac and cheese. My husband ordered the smoked beef brisket and a side of chili bean and Mac and cheese. The food was okay. I really expected more especially since it's my first time trying soul food. The fried wings were okay, it wasn't the best thing I've had. It was a bit salty though. The Mac and cheese were dry, and not really enjoyable. I'd give my meal a 5/10.

I’m mad at myself for not trying this spot sooner. Everything we tried was amazing, especially the fried fish and candied yams. Servers were SO generous and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. I will 100% be coming back and bringing more people with me so they can also fall in love with Jackie’s.

The ribs were good, the brisket however was pretty dry. service was not the greatest, didn’t like I had to order on an app instead of a waitress. Wanted a refill on my tea and was told I had to order on the app at a cost. Atmosphere was decent and seating was good.

Nice environment friendly staff. I didn't too much care for the macaroni and cheese, But all the other things I've tried was delicious. The drinks at the bar was on point. I definitely would come back.

Loved it, superb spot. Hard to find as it is tucked away. The best way is going northbound on N First street and turning into the parking lot, which was pretty big. Food was amazing, the dinning room was huge and had a good lively vibe. The chicken has a heavy smoke flavor and was super tasty and seasoned to perfection. The pulled pork was tender but could use a bit more flavor.

Finally a classy Soul food restaurant I love Jackies Place the food was The Bomb! The fish was tasty crispy and tender, the collard greens were seasoned to perfection the coleslaw was tasty as well. Thank you Ms Jackie. JuJu helped us and was so nice to help us pick out our food since it was our 1st time there we will be going back I also got a peach cobbler yummy.

Food was tasty & well seasoned, environment was good & chill, only thing I would say they ask for a tip before you actually see what the food or service is like which was a no for me. Also it give we don't want to really interact with you just eat, pay , & go. Some people like that aspect but I like a more interactive type of environment. Overall I will definitely go back & try some more items off the menu.

January 12th I went to Jackie's place in San Jose my first time there. The food was amazing very good the atmosphere was great Jackie was wonderful the workers was amazing I suggest if you have not been there you need to go best of food meat falling off the balls taste to perfection I loved it I will be going back Sylvia Lofton

Amazing Food , Service and Ambiance quickly seated , parking lot accommodated us didnt have to search forever and I enjoyed ordering my own food from my favorite phone, no confusion and the order was correct!!! Everything we had was wonderful to the point everything was my favorite Ordered in restaurants - hennessy side show - rib plate - chicken and waffles - peach cobbler - lemon pepper wings - candied yam chicken I ordered food to go also - gumbo - candied yam chicken - butter pound cake I will be back

First time tonight & the food was absolutely delicious The chili beans & brisket were amazing! & don't forget the corn bread too!! The only downside would be the wait for dine in & take out about an hour. But who can complain when the food made up for it. I do recommend more chairs available in the back. 10/10 recommend. Will be back soon!

It's too bad I'm only limited to five stars, because I would fill the night sky with stars for Jackie's Place. Friendly service, as if you're a friend being welcomed in. And the food! My lord the food! I got the fried chicken plate with sides of rice and gravy (which i didn't even know was a thing) and the black-eyed peas. And what can I say except that it was all absolutely amazingly astoundingly delicious. This is how food is supposed to be. This is food made by people who not only love to cook but care about quality. If I lived in San Jose I would eat here every day. All I can say is that this place should be on your bucket list. If the gods came to earth, they would eat at Jackie's Place.

I was Rolling around San Jose and had a Craving. For some Soul Food!!!! This is where Jackie's Place comes in! So I rolled there !!! In the Parking Lot of Jackie's Place I encountered one of their Friendly Employees a Beautiful Columbian Lady her name started with a A !!! She guided me to a Great Parking Spot!!! A works. As a Hostess there !!! She showed me to a table inside the Restaurant and took good care of me the whole time I was there!!!! Great Customer Service!!? I perused their Menu and ordered: Beef Brisket A Hot Link A Rib A Swaii Fried Fish Fillet 2 Fried Chicken Wings A Cup of Potato Salad 1 Cup of Macaroni and chee And a Peach Cobbler!!!! My food arrived 15 minutes later! It was delicious and Piping hot!!! This was a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment!!!

This restaurant stated that it didn't take reservations but we called and said we had a party of 12 and they said they would hold a table for us. Service was amazing. Food cake out quick and piping HOT! Everything tasted DELICIOUS!!! Hands down one of the best fried chicken ever. The ambiance of it was chill. The one thing I wish they had was a changing table in the men's restroom. Please add that in! Parking was horrible and very tight too

This place is delicious and the staff are so friendly! The restaurant is nice and very spacious. I love that you can order up front or scan a QR code. So convenient. We ordered the below. - Nachos: my favorite! They give you chips and fries for the base! The sauce they use is so good! - Beans: delicious! And it comes with brisket. So much flavor. - Mac and cheese: perfect amount of cheese, not too much or too little. - Pulled pork: was good but not my favorite. I like the hint of smoke flavor but typically like things with more of a smoke flavor. - corn muffin: good but also not my favorite. Wish I had it with butter. - sweet tea: pretty good. I like that it wasn't too sweet like other places. There were so many things I wanted to try and will definitely come back to do so.

I returned back for more!!! Went on a Wednesday after work. Drove 45 minutes and it was worth every minute. I got the smothered chicken again. I wanted to get something different but I remembered the flavor and taste from last time so I had to run it back! Everything was amazing just like the first time I went. They had black history month cake on the menu so I definitely had to grab that! Tasted like red velvet and vanilla. Really good! I was able to try TT's. sweet Tea and no lie, I want the whole pitcher!!!! This place is such a vibe, I can't get enough lol Thank you again Jackie's Place!!!

So much meat! We had the ribs and the brisket along with a cup of the gumbo. Everything was really good especially loved the gumbo. I might just do the bigger portion of that next time. Ribs were so flavorful. Service was friendly enough but gotta say a bit slow. It took more than 30 mins for our food to come out after ordering. The vibe is comfortably loud with lots of families and couples enjoying their night out.

Hands down my favorite soul food spot! I love their food, service, and environment! I was there after a K-pop event, with my beautiful wife and our friends. We enjoyed our meal as usual and after we finished up dinner, I accidentally forgot my wallet at our table as we walked out. One of the amazing staff, a gentleman named Luis found it and returned it to me. I was super impressed with his honesty, that I gave me a $20 tip as a thank you. It's nice to know that there are still honest people in the world. Overall: 20/10

Still a favorite with generous portions, best fried chicken, fish and beef brisket!! Great side dishes and desserts. The staff is always friendly, helpful and calm with all the rush at dinner time. Really enjoy the vibe of laid back setting and experience. Now only if they serve hush puppies as a side dish as well, they will never get rid of me!!

My work did a catered lunch from here, and I greatly enjoyed the food. The vegan options available were a jambalaya and green beans. They also brought out jackfruit later, but I didn't get to try it. The jambalaya was extremely good, and even had vegan chicken in it. I liked it so much I brought home a huge container of leftovers. The green beans were also very flavorful, surprisingly spicy. Very pleased with the vegan offerings, I'm sure the meats taste even better.

Parking was a little tough for a larger vehicle but the man came out from the barbecue pit to help out! We visited for lunch and had such a great meal! The rib tips, and fried fish were so flavorful and delicious! We tried 3 different sides, collard greens, chili beans, and the Mac and cheese, each was so delicious. So much food I was happy to take leftovers home, but we were too full for dessert this time. The staff was very kind and checked in to see how everything was, it was also nice that the man who seated us asked if this was our first time here and explained how the ordering process worked! A great amount of seating and really cool vibes inside! I will definitely be returning

I can definitely say that I have found one of my top go-to spots in SJ when it comes to soul food. My husband and I were craving it and so happened to be near Jackie's place. The establishment had a unique system in which you order via a QR code on the table. There's a self-serve refreshment area that also contains takeout containers and bags. After ordering, the drinks come out fast with a small wait for the rest of the food. The food itself was amazing and great in terms of portion sizes. I ordered the oxtail and a side of yams while my husband ordered the brisket plate (with fries and mac & cheese) and a side order of bbq rib tips. Everything was phenomenal. The oxtails were so tender. The same goes with the brisket and bbq rib tips. The mac & cheese was delicious (but would skip if you are a fan of creamy mac). The fries were seasoned to perfection and crispy. The yams were sweet, but helped balance the savory meal. The watermelon lemonade was just a perfect amount of sweetness that it made it hard to not finish in one gulp! There were many tables and the setting was very intimate. I will say the downside is the parking situation. It's a very tight parking lot with lots of people going in and out. However, it is free! I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to anyone who is craving soul food!

Great experience here. 10 minutes til opening there was already a long line of people waiting. We were checkedin and seated. The food came out fairly quickly. For a place where you order online they came by to check in with us multiple times which was very nice. Everyone who came by was professional. The chicken breading was light, fluffy and crunchy. The collards, potato salad, cornbread were also great. The only thing is no fresh strawberry on the waffles. The empty plates were removed promptly. Ambience is modern, open and inviting. The restaurant has its own parking lot in the back! We will definitely be back to try more items.

Some of the most flavorful food in San José! Food: I've tried quite a bit of items from the menu at this point, but my favorites are the Southern Fried Fish, Fried Chicken, Candied Yams, Mac & Cheese, and the Banana Pudding. They also have a variety of vegan options. The smoke pulled Jackfruit is super flavorful and yummy! Experience: When you walk in, you can either order take out at the register or opt to dine in by going up to the host. Once seated, you can order and check out via a QR code for your table. If you are paying with cash, you'll need to go to the register to order and let them know what table you are sitting at. Service: The staff is always super friendly and kind. I often see the owners making conversation and checking in with diners in the evenings. Once ordered, we've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for our food to come out. They have to-go boxes and water easily available to grab as needed. Ambiance: During the day, there is natural lighting from all of the windows and in the evenings, it's warmly lit which gives off a cozy vibe. Everyone here always looks to be enjoying their company, food, and time. Overall: Definitely a must try place in the South Bay! It's a San José staple!

My company has ordered catering before from Jackie's Place and it was great, but I was excited to finally visit in person so that I could try their food fresh, and MAN was it good. We went on a Saturday after 1pm, so there was no wait for our group of 5 which was really nice. There's a small parking lot in the back as well as some street parking, so it might be a good idea to carpool or take public transit. I ordered the Southern Fried Fish plate with Cornbread, Green Beans, and Mac & Cheese. Everything tasted so good and the portions were huge (for me) that I got a to-go box to take my leftovers home. The green beans were soft, the mac & cheese was creamy, and the fish tasted very fresh. It was a little pricier than I expected (~$27 after tip) but for the quality of food, I think it's worth it. I'll definitely be coming back and will be recommending this place to my friends :)

Excited to try out this place. The in dining for our party of 4 was not a long wait . 3 options to ordering 1)QR code 2) waitress and 3) at the counter ,our party opted for the QR code route. Drinks were brought promptly . Food wait time was a little long. Unfortunately , one of our orders was missed- chicken and waffles.After a while we informed the staff that one of our selections never came and requested a refund. The staff apologized and expedited our refund. The food was tasty and presentation was good. We will be dining again and give it another chance.

Great food great service great drinks. Even good system for payments allows people to order front the table thru the qr code and that prevents the annoying splitting of the tab at the end

This spot has been on my bookmarks, and I'm so glad we finally made it out. We were greeted upon entering by friendly staff and was asked if it was our first visit upon being seated. They gave us a warm welcome and thanked us for coming. Because it was our first time dining, our host explained that we could scan the QR code on the tables for the menu and pay, or go up to the counter by the door to with cash or credit card. We choose to pay at the counter just to make it easy. Once we placed our order, our food came out in pretty fast fashion. For a Friday night with lot of diners, they had great service. Multiple workers were helping serve, and different workers would ask if we needed anything. They did an awesome job. The food was DELICIOUS! The brisket was so tender and the portion was more than I could finish for dinner. The sides I choose was yum too - Mac 'N Cheese and beef chili beans. Oh, I totally loved the corn bread! I also tried some of the chicken on the Chicken and Waffle, and it was good. Not dried out at all. I didn't get a chance to try the waffles. But by the look of those who ordered it in our party's it must have been good because there was no leftovers. And, you must try their "Not Yo" Nachos! It was more food then we needed, but we tried it and was so happy that we did. We choose the pulled pork has our protein, and was not disappointed at all! The player was good for at least 6 people with a meal. I might just get the nachos the next time I go. The staff was always attentive if we needed refills on our drinks. Their space was big enough, but not too big. I could see how this place could get busy, but it would be worth the wait. They have a nice homey feeling when dining with large tables for a party of 10, and a great vibe. The parking lot could probably get busy since there's only a small back parking lot behind the resto. Not sure if you could park in the street if the parking lot gets full, but you can figure it out when you come out and try this place! Can't wait to go back!

We did a take out order from here and it was pretty decent. I think it is great that they have a vegetarian option and let you know if items are vegan. The jackfruit sandwich was loaded, they definitely aren't cheap with it. It had a good flavor and I enjoyed their bbq sauce. The Mac n cheese wasn't my favorite because I prefer it to be creamy but my partner enjoyed it. He also really liked the meats (pork rib, fried chicken, brisket). Seasoned fries were so good, reminded me of curly fries without the curl. For drinks we had grape Kool-Aid and sweet tea. Both were waaaay too sweet for us so we added water and got more bang for our buck. LOL The desserts are a must! Banana cream pie and peach cobbler. Shhheeeesh! Since we did a to go order service was quick but when we drove up it was packed and there was a traffic jam. So be prepared to wait for a parking. Inside is newly remodeled and it looks cute.

Here with my family from Southern California and my sister in law recommended this place. They have a huge smoker outside. The delicious smell greeted us as we walked through the parking lot. It was a little packed but thankfully no wait. Inside is a total vibe. The atmosphere is awesome and chill. They also have a full bar. You can either order from the cashier in front or you can order from your phone. We ordered a little of everything. Everything was beyond delicious. We also ordered dessert to go. We had such an incredible time. We got to meet the diva Jackie and her sis Juju. They both actually came to our table. Thank you beautiful ladies for the hospitality and the delicious food. Also, thanks to your amazing staff. Can't wait to return.

Can't believe it took me so long to check this place out! We went here for lunch and were quickly sat. We were told we could order directly from the qr code, which was great because we were able to pay on the same link. You can still order at the register if you want, but they only accept cash there. I personally love self serve restaurants because it's nice to grab stuff without needing a server. So I enjoyed that they had a station for water, cutlery and even to-go boxes. I ordered the brisket with a side of mac and cheese, chili beans and corn bread. Everything was so flavorful, but very very filling. I tried some of my brother's rib burnt end pieces, which were really good. I will definitely be back and get my own order of burnt end pieces.

After you're seated, you order and pay through your phone by scanning a QR code on the table. It's nice because the rest of it (getting water and the to-go containers and bag) are self service so you can leave whenever. The menu that's present at the table doesn't have the prices which makes sense because they only need to update the prices on the website when the prices change. ~~Parking: Very small and tight parking lot. The times I've gone I usually just do street parking and walk over. ~~Service: Pretty good. A lot of the stuff is self service like you order and pay through your phone and grab your own waters and to-go containers. ~~Best Part: After being seated everything else is self-serve. You order yourself on the phone, grab your own water and containers and you can just leave without having to wait for them to bring a check around. Usually the platter meals are large enough where it's able to last 2 meals! ~~Worst Part: The wait for the food to come after placing the order. It usually takes them ~20 minutes to bring out the order after you order it on your phone-but at least it means that the food is fresh! ~~Tips: Get the Southern Fried fish! You won't regret it! ~~Return: Yes.

I can't remember the last time we had such friendly service or really, any service. All of the people working here were friendly and welcoming. The food is phenomenal. We've ordered from here through Uber Eats plenty of times but this was our first time actually dining in. You really can't miss with ordering anything from here. I'd personally recommend the fried fish, party wings with peach habanero, and the rib tips but really, just come and give it a try. You won't regret it.

This place and the people in it are gems. Went here for the first time with some friends who, like us, are always on the lookout for good bbq. We took 2 years to finally make our way out to Jackie's Place and it was so worth the wait. We were greeted by the most friendly Ms. Juju, expert brewer of the signature Kool-Aid there. We were seated fairly quickly & put our order in digitally at the table. It was a mostly waiter-less experience and the food came out promptly. I got ribs, baked beans, & mac & cheese. It was all delicious. The baked beans were some of the best I've had. I wished the ribs fell off the bones, which they didn't, but they were still good flavor-wise. I wanted dessert after eating about half of my meal l & ended up getting (but not finishing) key lime pie AND banana pudding. Both were delicious, as expected. It's a clean, bright, roomy place with friendly people & I'd happily come back the next time I'm craving BBQ. Would recommend!

The set it off sauce is DELICIOUS. We poured it all over the nachos with pulled pork, which were more than enough to share. We also ordered a rib plate with sides and were impressed. We came during a heat wave and I'm not sure if their AC was broken but it was so hot in there.

Parking lot a little tight, we have a truck and it was a little difficult getting out. Beautiful restaurant,great vibe,staff is very friendly and food is Amazing! Portions are decent. ,brisket, delicious. Fried fish, crunchy in the outside and soft,moist, flavoful on the inside . The pork burnt ends we ordered were very tasty,my only complaint is i wish there were no bones/cartilage In the pieces. For sides we had, greens,Mac n Cheese,yams,black eyed peas and tato salad. All delicious . Mac was cheesy and scrumptious. My favorite were the greens and black eyed peas! Definitely worth the wait!

This place was a GRAND SLAM! Had the opportunity to meet the wonderful Juju who made it clear she DOES NOT COOK! lol I feel her ! My designers and I came here for lunch. We had the pleasure in having the watermelon lemonade, uncle Greg's ribs (3 massive size bones) a side of homemade mac n cheese and potato salad! Another had the Gumbo and banana pudding pie. The place is super open spaced with tons of searing. We got pretty lucky and able to be seated right away. I love that they give you the option to either order from your phone using the tables assigned QR code or ordering at the counter. Which ever makes you comfortable. Had plenty to take home. She did warn us that portions are really big and she was not wrong. We had plenty to take home to my husband. Oh and the cornbread slapped! Can't wait to Be back!

Big shoutout to Joey to make our first dining experience wonderful! The food was great and my favorite was the oxtail and fried fish. The fish was fried to perfection while that oxtail was bathed in a delicious gravy that was super tasty! But Joey was beyond helpful providing us all the extra fixings like butter, honey, and to go containers. He went truly above and beyond! Will be coming back!

We went to Jackie's place today for their 6th anniversary celebration. They had lots of decorations and a Saxophone player. It was our first time coming here. Everyone was so nice to us and the food was amazing. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. We will have leftovers for days. We had a wonderful dining experience here and we fully recommend coming here for a meal. We will most definitely be coming here again.

The food is incredible. I love Jackie's Place. The energy is like real cool and laidback. I took my daughter for her first time here a couple weeks ago and she absolutely loved it. The food took a while to come out, but perfection takes time! The food was hot and fresh off the stove. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, juicy and HOT! Smothered oxtail was so tender it was just sliding off the bones. I've been here a couple times before, and while I can't remember what I got, I remember that it was delicious. The juju was way, way, way too sweet for us, so we had to dilute with a lot of water. The watermelon lemonade was more to our liking and refreshing at that. The portions were well sized. We came hungry and left happy, full and satisfied.

bf and i went on a saturday night around 7 pm or so, the place was pretty full but the wait staff and servers were very nice and friendly! the service was fast too, considering that the place was busy and bustling. menus were provided, but you could see photos and pricing of the dishes on the QR pic at the table, where you pay first and then get your food. you get your own water, to go containers, and plastic bags at a table in the corner of the restaurant as well. bf got the brisket, beef chili beans, and green beans. i got the barbecue chicken, mac & cheese, and collard greens. the food was absolutely delicious and seasoned well, although it was a bit too salty for my taste. i can't wait to come back and try more meats and the desserts too!

This spot has been bookmarked to visit for quite some time. I finally made it to San Jose and came to eat. Everyone was kind and helpful; however, I was disappointed that oxtails which are on the menu as a regular item, weren't made that day. I was told there were some catering events & due to Wednesday being a slow day, they didn't cook oxtails that day. Guess what I came for??? Oxtails.... I had to choose an alternate meal so I had fish, with greens/yams. Food was good. It came out quick & hot. My coworker had gumbo, she liked it. If I return, I'll be sure to call first to make sure what I want is available.

Jackie's place was definitely a vibe. Th wait was not very long which was nice. They had a band player and everyone just seemed to really enjoy the vibe as well. I ordered the smothered chicken with green beans and sweet potato's. Everything was very good and cooked perfectly. Everything is very self service and you place an order through their QR code. My only complaint would be if they could add more flavor to their green beans. They were super watery and very plain tasting. Service was also just okay, not good or bad. I would definitely go back but especially For their Key Lime pie! That was amazing !

The best shrimp and grits I've ever tasted. So much flavor !!! Service is fast and there is plenty of seating. Can't wait to come back for brunch with the girls.

I had heard such great reviews about Jackie's Place and this place did not disappoint. I was on the hunt for good soul food in San Jose and Jackie's Place was at the top of the list. Immediately after walking out of my car, I was hit with the aroma of smoke and authentic bbq. They have large smokers outside the restaurant and trust me, they aren't for decoration. I ordered the rib plate and brisket. The ribs were the star of the show for me! Upon taking my first bite, the smoke from the hardwood immediately hit me. The ribs were extremely tender, smokey, and delicious! You could definitely taste the smoke on the brisket as well. The brisket had a nice bark but I felt like I wanted more seasoning on the brisket. It tasted slightly bland minus the smoke, but still very delicious! The customer service was extremely friendly as well! Even though they were very busy, my order came out quickly!

This place was recommended and did not disappoint! If you want some real soul food, then you have to come here! The ribs are mouthwatering and taste amazing. The barbecue chicken has a delicious smoked flavor that will blow your mind! The fish breading was phenomenal and the hot links... Well, they're hot! Great experience. My only issue was the ordering because I'm not techy. lol

My coworkers and I came to Jackie's Place on a Thursday for lunch and had a great time. One of my coworkers had learned about Jackie's Place through StarChefs and wanted to introduce us to the restaurant. We even got to meet Chef Jackie herself, and she was such a kind and sweet woman! She made us feel so welcome in her restaurant and made the experience 10x better. All of the food we ordered was cooked to perfection and seriously, so comforting for our souls. It was some of the best soul food we've ever had. Something about the way the chicken wings were fried made them SO crispy and tasty. And the ribs just fell off the bone! One of the things I dislike about downtown restaurants is the parking, but Jackie's Place has a parking lot that you can park in, and there's also nearby areas to park if you want to walk. Make sure you visit Jackie's Place and also bring some dessert home!

I had uncle Greg's ribs. It was smoked pretty well and the bark was there but I expected a more smoky flavor to it. I put bbq sauce on the ribs and the than I got the smokiness I was expecting. I had the cole slaw and collard greens. The cole slaw was a good palette cleanser for ribs and sauce. I found the collard greens a bit salty; they do use the brisket. So that was the only downside. I had watermelon lemonade and that was good; not sweet. Service was good; you have to go to the front to order and they bring your food to your table. The restaurant was quite spacious ; it was very light and clean lines. They had a bar which next time I will try.

My friends took me here for my bday for some BBQ! I was my first time so I did not know what to expect. We met on Saturday at noon and we had to wait a few minutes for the party to arrive. Juju was our waitress and went over the menu for us first timers. She introduced herself and told us it was a family oriented restaurant. What we ordered: Meat: Beef brisket Pulled pork BBQ chicken Fried fish Sides: Bean Chili (Pork) Mac n cheese Corn bread Dessert: Banana pudding The food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the fried fish, beef brisket, mac n cheese, and bean chili. I had better pulled pork though. For takeout I got the Oxtail and it was amazing! This place does bring a great hospitality comfort food.

Been wanting to go to Jackie's place for the longest time and have been finally able to go. I got the fried chicken plate which came with three of the biggest wings you'll ever see and two sides. The price was about 20 bucks and it was phenomenal price as there were so much food. The wings were fully crisp, breaded nicely and so juicy and tender and delicious. I got a side of fries which were pretty good crisp and fresh and standard. Nothing much right about and a side of rice and gravy. The gravy was really good however, the rice was very soggy so next time I would try to just get gravy to dip my wings in. The waffles were huge as well and spiced. I had a little piece. It was good. I will definitely come back and try the other food and especially get more wings.

Went here today with my husband and daughter. We ordered the fried fish and fried chicken plates. The fish was so fresh and melted in my mouth. The chicken was okay. We had the Mac and cheese, greens and yams. All of them were 10/10 especially the greens. They were very flavorful. If you order the fish from here make sure you ask for Tatar sauce. They have their own special tartar sauce and it's amazing. We also got the kool aid which was good, and not too sweet. This was our first time dining in, but we will be back! Can't wait to try the desserts, we will too full from the food to try but next time we will. Thank you Jackie's ! And thank you Ms juju for your wonderful service and hospitality!

The food was awesome my mom got the gumbo and I got the oxtails pretty generous servings and perfectly cooked. The service was also really quick and friendly.

If you're looking for soul food, this is the place for it! I've been eyeing Jackie's Place for as long as I can remember and I finally visited after having it in my bookmarks for a while. We came at around 12:00 PM on a Saturday and we were able to be seated immediately. Our waitress, Juju, explained everything thoroughly for us which was so nice! We were given a physical menu however we placed our order through a QR code. I ordered the fried chicken plate with the collard greens and chili beans while my boyfriend ordered the rib tips plate with coleslaw and mac and cheese with a side order of hot links. I also ordered a sweet tea for my beverage and a banana pudding for dessert. The food came out sooner than expected which was nice since I was hungry. My first impression was that the portions were huge! For roughly $23, I received 3 huge pieces of full chicken wings and generous amounts of sides. Safe to say, I definitely packed my leftovers for dinner the same day! The fried chicken was so delicious; the batter was really crispy and the seasonings were definitely present. I don't think I tried collard greens before so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was definitely a good side to try with the chicken. The chili beans were so rich with flavor; I loved the sweet tangy sauce and the deep flavor of the beans with the meat. I would say surprisingly the star of the show is the banana pudding. It was so rich and surprisingly, not too sweet! There were real banana slices in the pudding and it was the perfect ending to the savory meal. Overall, I'm super glad to have finally visited Jackie's Place and I would come back again to try different items on the menu.
