Jack’s Cafe to Make a Comeback in Charleston - Eater Carolinas

"Jack’s Cafe, an iconic George Street diner, is being restored by Indigo Road Hospitality Group. The group plans to bring back its original charm and operate it as a classic college-town diner. The restoration is still in the planning phase." - Erin Perkins

Stopped in for lunch, it was busy but service was stellar! The staff was very welcoming & had great recommendations. We tried the chicken & waffles and the burger, both excellent. We also had the pretzel & I didn't expect much since we live near Philly but that pretzel was perfect!

A diner in downtown Charleston worth finding. This place is definitely what you think of when you think of an old-school Diner. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced for a downtown area. Will definitely be coming back!

Nice place to sit down if you're in the mood for good breakfast. Service was a bit slow but other than that, a good experience.

Was looking for a reasonably priced breakfast place and downtown Charleston. Most restaurants tend to have bougie menus, especially on the weekends. This restaurant right by the College of Charleston with a parking garage just around the corner on Saint Philip Street was perfect. The meals were fairly cheap, but high-quality. The pancakes were huge and fluffy, the eggs rich, and the grits hot. If I had one complaint, it would be that the home fries were a little underdone and not crispy. Service was excellent and the manager clearly on top of her game. Never had to ask for a refill. Can get quite busy, so expect a potential wait, but big screen TVs on the wall and seating by the door help. We were able to squeeze right in at the bar rather than waiting for a table.
