Oh Jack...we will never be back.....
This was my place, my Jewel, my lunch place in heaven. I have been coming here since 2012. I have never seen Jack have enough tables on a perfect weather day like yesterday or any other day. They used to have a guy and a girl servers. They were welcoming and worked hard to make sure you were happy and satisfied. I had not been here since they left. Nor had my friend. The food was perfect before. Good proportions, about the same menu items. Yesterday were two servers. One lady was very pregnant and pleasant. We got the other one. The "accountant" I will call her.
So, as usual, we drive in missing the huge pothole. There it is my favorite restaurant on earth. Lovely full of spring surroundings and that porch that calls to me on perfect days like this. We got there at 10:50 to avoid the crowd. Crowd? When is the crowd coming?
First we are greeted with a sign to wait to be seated. That's unneeded. we got to the porch and the accountant shows up with the attitude of how much money will they spend with a tight lip. We were excited to be there. We felt like we were I kinda interrupting her day. So we ordered our faves. Tuna and American chicken cranberry sandwich. Prices have increased, food has decreased. Where's the filling. Jack? Who has done this to your restaurant? Friend orders inedible iron water. I order Iced tea, server says, under her breath after I order, that's a coke product, I meant accountant, not server, sorry. She did not tell us, but I asked if they did free refills. Nope, you get 1 , said the accountant on soda and tea. Coffee? Free refills. Never saw the accountant smile. OK
so, it's about 11:30. Not many people, the porch isn't even full. Noon, 1 table inside full, and a few open on porch. NOON! at Jack's! Never thought I'd see the day when there was no line out the door at lunch. Something very different has taken hold of my dear Jack's, a treasure ruined. My friend felt the same way. She noticed no business people there. Lots of business used to be there. I have brought in great numbers of people to your restaurant through the years and I feel a great loss. Jack's is where we celebrated, we planned, we laughed, we thrived, it had a great vibe. Now it feels like Scrooge's office, not even his house.
