What an amazing experience! The steak was on point. We sat at the bar, where we enjoyed happy hour along with selections from the regular menu. We started with the meatballs for an appetizer, and for dinner, we shared the bone-in New York strip along with the Italian salad and the amazing potato casserole topped with candied bacon — definitely order this! Alyse took great care of us at the bar — she was friendly, social, and attentive to our needs. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I came to Jack’s Chophouse to celebrate our anniversary, and while the atmosphere was nice, we weren’t as impressed as we hoped to be. For the price, we expected the flavors to be more bold and memorable, but the food just didn’t quite deliver. That being said, our server Amanda was absolutely amazing — so cheerful, attentive, and truly the highlight of our evening. We really appreciated her great service, even if the meal itself fell a bit short

As a first time guest of Jacks, I had no idea what to truly expect before walking in! I took a chance from a highly reliable source to try it out and I’m so glad I did! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and you can tell a lot of time and attention goes into every detail of the aesthetics. I was welcomed quickly by Rich upon my arrival who ensured my reservation was in order. I had the pleasure of having a table in one of their many beautiful rooms where the decor and atmosphere was conducive to a cozy intimate dinner. My server, Amanda, was fantastic! She was so gracious with reviewing the menu and making excellent recommendations on behalf of my tastes. She made sure everything was just perfect for my dining experience! The bar service was amazing as well—highly recommend the Jackie O, but they have an amazing selection to choose from sure to suit all tastes. While I had the pleasure of seeing other patrons celebrating birthdays and engagements, it should be noted this is an excellent choice for “just because” and going out for the evening! I will be returning soon!

My husband’s steak was nothing short of superb—expertly seared, seasoned with care, and cooked to perfection with a depth of flavor that spoke to the high quality of the cut. The drinks were just as thoughtfully crafted, rounding out each evening with sophistication. Jack’s Chophouse manages to combine fine dining with a sense of ease, creating a romantic and elevated experience we’ll be coming back to again.

I had an outstanding dining experience at Jack’s Chophouse! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a perfect girls night out with Hannah. The salad with the steak that I ordered was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The side dishes complemented the meal beautifully, and our attentive server Megan made sure we had everything we needed. I also loved the dessert; it was the perfect way to end the evening. Yes, this place really is all that. We made reservations as recommended, it’s the right thing to do as I suspect it would have been challenging to be seated without them. The hostess Bethany was so sweet and chatted with us for a few minutes when she showed us to our table, she returned after we were finished and we had a lovely time chatting with her. Ally our server was also incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the menu and the area. We decided on the bone marrow with Parmesan, the calamari and the dessert tartufo. It was all very delicious, rich and special. The calamari was the best I’ve ever had and I’m a bit of a calamari snob! The bone marrow was a choice we made as we’ve never had it before. The dessert came highly recommended by locals and it didn’t disappoint. We had an issue with our bone marrow, the bone had a hole in it so the marrow was mostly missing and what was there cooked onto the underside of the bone. When we brought it to Ally’s attention she immediately made it right. We so appreciated that quality in the staff and the management.

Cozy upscale atmosphere. Food was phenomenal and staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Bone marrow was our favorite appetizer. I had the lamb and my husband had the ribeye. We both savored every morsel. We dined with our 8 month old daughter and half the staff knew her by name by the end of our meal. Highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back!

From the second we walked in, we felt welcomed. Not “hey how are you how many”, but “hello, welcome, where are you from, how are you doing” and waiting for each answer before asking us if we had made reservations. Guess what. We hadn’t. The host didn’t skip a beat. Found us a table and made sure we were taken care of. Nick (I believe that was his name) made us bread and oil (it was phenomenal), and while he was doing so he took the time to have a real conversation with my five year old daughter. Megan was our waitress, and she made us feel like we were the only table in the way she managed her time between all of her tasks. There was another woman, I wish I remembered her name, who took so much time just to make friends with my daughter as well. They all worked together so seamlessly. Everyone was so incredibly positive. The food was amazing, worth every penny. Could not recommend Jack’s enough!

Excellent. I will admit I was thrown off about a bone in New York strip but read into it. Always learning and experiencing. The steak was medium rare and absolutely wonderful. The right amoun of black pepper to give it a good caramelized exterior. The garlic butter elevates the overall taste and just pairs well with steak. Job well done. Asparagus with Béarnaise just brought it all together. If you are a fan of calamari don't always go traditional. Try to go outside of the box and try different preparations such as the badabing spicy calamari. It was fried and very crispy with the right amount of heat. Amanda did a superior job as she mentioned the specials and was very accommodating and paid attention to our names making us feel like friends and family. The host were also excellent as they were involved in creating an overall fine dining experience. Definitely coming back to try other options. Oh...and the bread was top notch. However...eat it fresh and don't let it sit for later.

During our recent anniversary trip to Fredericksburg, we were eager to dine at a renowned steakhouse, having previewed their enticing menu and ambiance online. Arriving ten minutes before our reservation, we were promptly checked in by the hostess, who mistakenly noted a table for four instead of two--a sign of potential disorganization. The restaurant, set within a charming house, featured quaint and traditional décor. After a brief wait, our pleasant waitress took our drink orders. However, the evening took an unexpected turn when the hostess approached and requested my husband to remove his American flag cap, worn in honor of Election Day. We observed other patrons dressed casually, including shorts, tennis shoes, and baseball hats, and even a guest in pajama pants and a "feminist" t-shirt. Feeling singled out and noting the inconsistency in enforcing the dress code, we chose to leave the restaurant, disappointed that our special evening was disrupted. Following our departure, I emailed the restaurant expressing our concerns. They responded promptly with an apology, indicating a willingness to address staff training and organizational issues. For establishments charging premium prices, consistent and fair treatment of all patrons is essential to ensure a memorable dining experience.

Delicious food and drinks - great service and hospitality - and a lodge / cabin like ambience. Cozy interior. We went to celebrate our engagement and it was such a great spot for it. Cocktails were nice - I had the cucumber martini which tasted refreshing. Bread starter was low key fire! I had the 4 oz petite filet cooked medium rare and the cut literally melted in my mouth. Fiance had the shrimp scampi and loved it. For sides we shared the mashed potatoes and asparagus. Finished both. Their use of oven roasted garlic elevated each dish. Note - most of their steaks are like 18 oz ; made for sharing! Jack's also gave us sparkling wine and a slice of cheesecake to help commemorate our special occasion. Cannot recommend this place enough!

OMG! What a treat in the beautiful Texas Hill Country... we dined at Jack's Chophouse on New Year's Eve, an amazing NY-style steakhouse in Fredericksburg, TX. Amanda was our server, outstanding service, informative and attentive, but not intrusive. We had the wedge salad, followed by the HUGE tomahawk chop! All food perfectly prepared, served in style. It's an experience!!! Served with a fine Napa cab! Highly recommend Jack's Chophouse. You gotta get you some of that!

We came here on a Tuesday to celebrate my wife's birthday. The restaurant has a small parking lot. We had reservations and were sat right away. The restaurant is small and dark. We came during happy hour and both got the happy hour petite filet special and one side of fries. The portions were small, but just enough. The food was excellent and a great deal for the price.

Our second visit! Kevin is so welcoming when we come into Jacks Chophouse. This evening we were seated in the back area of this cozy and romantic steakhouse. We had Meg(an) as our waitress and she was so personable and helpful with all of our questions! We started with the Mexican martini, mojito, shrimp cocktail, and warm bread. (Husband wanted the bread and I'm not mad about it after trying it...) For our mains we shared the delicious mashed potatoes (so garlicky, yum), asparagus, bone in filet mignon and New York strip. Both medium rare and absolute perfection. Thank you Megan T. for the wonderful experience!

A great dinner of Pete Luger style Porterhouse, salads, and sides (including a sausage stuffed mushroom dish I'm going to dream about) and finished off with a great tiramisu. Took some buddies there after hunting and pretty sure I hit a bullseye with this. Our server Joshua, who is the spitting image of Jimmy In Yellowstone, had us handled well from start to finish.

Ambiance galore and amazing service! From the moment you walk in Kevin greets you with a complimentary glass of wine while you wait for your table. Meghan took great care of us and explained the menu very well!

Bartenders and servers seem foreign and do not really communicate. No one seems happy in their job. The manger stares strangely at customers and makes them uncomfortable. Happy hour prices are good. Theresa is the only one that knows how to talk to customers. I think she might be training everyone and maybe even managers. Megan is really nice too as a waitress passing by being friendly.

Nice steak house. Packed on a Sunday night so louder than usual. They had us by the door but then moved us to better table when we reminded them of our anniversary. Had an excellent filet cooked just right. Calamari is delicious. Sides are great. Baked potato casserole and creamed spinach. It would be nice if they had a few TX wines on their menu being in TX wine country and all. thus 4 stars. and their wine list was WAY over priced, only had a glass not a bottle. The best wine was still in my car. They let you BYO wine but corkage fee is $80. HA!! Nice surprise dessert for our 10 year anniversary.

We hurried here after arriving in Fredericksburg to get there in time for Happy hour. Of course there were no seats at the Bar at 5:15 on a Tuesday. But they let us sit at a table in the bar area. We each had a specialty HH cocktail. Then we ordered the HH special prime rib sandwich to split. Note there IS a deal on Yelp for 10% off your bill with check in and we did ask our waitress about it -she was going to send over the manager, but never did. We didn't push it since we were already getting HH specials and splitting something. The sandwich was surprisingly good, and if I lived in Fredericksburg, I would go back for it again and again. Very tender meat with a good spice to it and a nice soft brioche roll.

I can only say wonderful things about this restaurant! My husband and I went on a date for our first trip to Fredericksburg and we went here for dinner. The food, service, and ambiance were great! The place was very cozy and food was so good. I returned a month later for a girls trip and came back for dinner. We had a wonderful experience again. We were stuffed and we had a great dinner! Would definitely recommend!

We celebrated our sorority anniversary at Jack's Chophouse, and it was an unforgettable experience! The vibe was laid-back but classy, perfect for catching up and sharing laughs with my sisters. We went family-style with our meal, and everything was so good! The salmon? Absolute perfection--hands down the best I've ever had. The sides were just as incredible and made the whole spread feel super indulgent. The service was spot-on, too. Our server kept everything flowing smoothly, which made the night even better. If you're in Fredericksburg and looking for a place to celebrate (or just treat yourself), Jack's Chophouse is where it's at.

My lady and I went to Jack's for our birthday celebration and it DID NOT disappoint! Our waiter Josh was fantastic! He made great suggestions and was very patient and knowledgeable when it came to wine. All-in-all, we will most definitely be back and we highly recommend Jack's for any occasion.

Food was a ten out of ten. Service was fantastic. The restaurant was at full capacity and service was still prompt. The ambiance really made our dinner special. Live music and great decor.

We celebrated my birthday with friends after hearing Radney Foster perform. The table wasn't quite ready, as other people were enjoying their evening as well. The manager gave us a complimentary appetizer when we finally got seated. The food & service was fantastic and we literally shut the place down. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Neat establishment lots of nostalgic photos from Marilyn Monroe, Kennedy to the infamous sailor kissing a nurse at Times Square. Pretty neat! We came here to celebrate my hubby's birthday. I enjoyed everything from the tomahawk steak, sides and even dessert. Our waitress was friendly and took great care of us. I will be returning on another celebratory occasion!

We had anniversary dinner here and absolutely loved it! We shared the bone in filet and it was cooked to perfection. Joshua was attentive without being overboard. Truly a fantastic experience. 10/10 would dine here again.

Wow , sure want this place to work but the dreaded "but". My wife and I, and our grown daughter went to Jacks(2nd visit) for an early Christmas Eve dinner . Had reservations but obviously, the new staff(waitress, kitchen, etc.) were not prepared. Took way too long to get drinks and appetizers . Waitress was nice enough(Ali) but didn't have a good support group . Got drinks ,apps and entree in a staggered fashion . In other words, got 2 of 3 drinks , 3 of 4 apps, and 2 of 3 entrées but not all at the normal "same time" . Made for a bit awkward eating pace . 1 app was served cold when it needed to be(& was) much tastier when served hot . Just little things that do add up . It was very quiet in the front of the house yet we all noticed music being played toward the rear of the place . Duh ! Someone forgot to turn the speakers on up front . Little things that occurred throughout the evening meal . Others in the restaurant had a similar experience after talking with them . Really , we want and need a Great Steakhouse here in the 'burg but I'm going to have to take a raincheck on eating with y'all for awhile. Besides , for what you charge , it ought to be "spot on ". Good Luck!

Nice ambiance. Food disappointing.you would think as a steakhouse they could cook your steak to perfection. Wife's was overcooked mine under cooked from how we ordered it. Never a good time when out for a nice evening one is eating while the other one waits for their meal to be sent back, then watch you eat when they are done. Come on "medium" at a steakhouse shouldn't be that hard to accomplish. Order the carrots as one of the sides, then find out the garnish with my steak was carrots! (They didn't charge us for them when I complained but missed the opportunity to have a different side.). A disappointing $200+ dinner.

Service was great, had a reservation at 8pm, my GF and I got there at 745 and they gave us a complimentary wine till our reservation time. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, baked potato casserole both out of this world. Then we got, a ribeye and the bone in filet, which was perfect. Would recommend for a date night. Book a reservation, they were pretty busy.

So far the best steakhouse in the Hill Country! Good food including the steaks and appetizers, great service and solid ambiance. We live in the Hill Country and we will be back to see if their consistency can increase their star rating.

I just wanted to start up with saying the bread and butter is a great appetizer. I wish we would've gotten the dip that they had but we only got butter. The appetizers we got the calamari and the spicy pickles that were on top was honestly a very pleasant surprise I was not expecting that. My boyfriend loved the wedge salad. It looked really good, but I'm just not a wedge person. Also, we got a porterhouse steak with creamed, spinach and mushrooms and onions and oh my gosh this is one of the best meals I've had in a really long time. They surprised me with a cheesecake with sparklers on it for my 30th birthday and I absolutely loved everything about our dinner as well as the Drinks. Service was phenomenal as well.

My memory might not serve all the dishes justice (I remember the house lasagna and stuffed mushrooms particularly standing out!), every dish was impeccably prepared and simply delightful. The tomahawk steak we concluded our meal with was the pièce de résistance. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The drinks? Top-notch and impeccable in taste and presentation. It's worth mentioning that the entire staff at Jack's Chophouse was polished and professional. From the hostess to the bussers, every team member worked seamlessly to provide an exquisite dining experience. While the food and drinks were undeniably amazing, the real highlight of our evening was the service. Our server, Teresa, was an absolute gem. From the moment we were seated to the time we bid adieu, she was attentive, caring, and added a touch of fun to our celebration. Her energy and dedication to ensuring we had the best experience possible was evident throughout the night. If I had one tiny critique, it would be the dessert. For a shareable dessert, it seemed quite petite for our group. I wished for a slightly more generous portion. Nevertheless, it did not overshadow the brilliant overall experience. If you find yourself at Jack's Chophouse, I wholeheartedly recommend asking for Teresa. Between the sublime food, standout drinks, and Teresa's fantastic service, this place deserves more than 5 stars. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Fredericksburg!

I took my wife to Jack's for her birthday dinner. They have a great ambiance. The service was excellent Our server was attentive and very helpful when asked about some of the menu items. We ordered Parmesan Crusted Bone Marrow as an appetizer and it was delicious! The wedge salad was fantastic. We both ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Jack's Chop House. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

Service was excellent! We went there for a birthday celebration and enjoyed several cocktails. We had the veal, ribeye, strip, and shrimp. All were excellent choices. So much flavor and delicious. For the sides we had the creamed spinach, carrots, and Brussel sprouts which was my fav! The restaurant itself is rather small but cozy. There was live violin and cello music for entertainment. Super fun night.

AMAZING!!! My partner and I stopped by for a couple drinks and some appetizers to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to sit at the bar and had the absolute best time. Theresa was the bartender this evening and she's outstanding. Great personality, good attitude, and way above average service. If you ever swing by, ask for her and you'll have a magical experience.

If you're looking for a spot to impress and don't mind paying a good chunk of chain this is your place. I loved the older couple playing live music on their violin and bass. Very small place so everyone can hear each other's conversations. I'd recommend trying it at least once. Full bar as well which was my biggest concern . My wife seems not to care too much for the chicken but my steak was pretty good.

Our group of 13 came here on our friend's bachelorette. The staff, especially Amanda, were very accommodating and friendly. The food and service were top notch. I enjoyed the special for today- pasta with clams.

Dined at Jack's Chophouse in Fredericksburg last evening. Overall, the meal was outstanding. My wife said it was some of the best salmon she has tasted since living in the Texas Hill Country. My son and I ordered steak which was cooked impeccably and tasted very good. The service we received was excellent and the atmosphere was upscale and very comfortable. We live in Kerrville, and making the drive was worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fine dining experience in the area.

First time here for friend's birthday. Large group so we made sure we had reservations. Small parking outside the restaurant, but they do have street parking too. Very cute house turned into restaurant (or so it seems). Mood lighting (bit darker), but typical for steak place I guess. Staff professional, courteous, efficient. We sat in front which is probably best since some of us tend to be loud (although the poor table next to us probably did not feel that way). Great selection of drinks and wine. Apps and steak and other dishes were very good. Def recommend.

Extremely disappointed!! We made a reservation over 2 weeks in advance via an email with the proper information provided in accordance with their website. Never got a response. 1 week before the reservation I called and left a voicemail to confirm that reservation and asked once again, if they did not have my reservation to make it. No response once again. Today (3 days before the reservation) I called and got through to someone to confirm my reservation. They had no record of a reservation for me. Needless to say I was not happy and now NOT interested in visiting this establishment.

While the prices are a bit high (all beef prices are currently) this place is exceptional. The food and steaks are amazing. Cocktails are quite delicious as well. We have always had great service here, and we have been multiple times. We will go back too! When you walk in you feel like you are transported back to an old time high end steak house! The ambiance is perfect for a date night or just treating anyone special. Highly recommend

Jacks was 23 feet from the cottages we were staying at so the location was superb. Also, to my delight, they took a reservation for 11 several months ahead of time. The place is very nice inside with live music in the bar area. Service was excellent. Jacks is overpriced; probably due to the limited number of restaurants in Fredericksburg. My wife and I weren't very hungry. We shared a wedge salad and brussel sprouts both of which were very good. My wife got a 4oz filet ($47) which was too salty in my opinion. I enjoyed the shrimp paesano over pasta (extra charge) instead of rice. Later that week we shared an 8oz filet in San Antonio for the same price that was phenomenal !

Monday night before Christmas visit did not disappoint. Was met at the bar by Theresa and Carlos. My husband ordered his standard dry martini and I ordered the Monroe. Excellent service and great drinks! Love the food, drinks, great staff, and the excellent music choices at Jack's. This is our favorite choice in Fredericksburg for drinks and dinner. Looking forward to our next visit!

If I could rate this place ten stars, I would! Initially, we were supposed to go to Martinis, but they were fully booked. The host at Martini's recommended Jack's and even called to get us a table. I'm so glad we ended up at Jack's because the food and service were exceptional! Liz, the hostess, was lovely and even got us some drinks before seating us at the bar. Our waitress, Theresa, was amazing. I used to wait tables myself, and she is genuinely talented. She was genuine and personable, and she managed the very busy bar perfectly. And the food was incredible! It's probably the best steak I've ever had. I cannot recommend Jack's Chophouse enough! I loved it!
