Jack’s House in Downtown Dallas Closed After Suspected Arsonist Sets Fire to Building | Eater Dallas
"A dance club in Downtown Dallas that specializes in local and touring DJs who play electronic and house music is closed after a fire that started around 4 a.m. on Friday, January 31; the fires were reported out by 5 a.m. The Dallas Morning News reports that a Dallas Fire and Rescue official confirmed the fire is suspected to be arson. Firefighters discovered two fires inside the club after multiple 911 calls; no injuries were reported, but the fire reportedly gutted the building. In an interview with Fox 4, the club’s co-owner, Willie Trimmer, said he was in the club at the time the fire started, working on remodeling a different room. After hearing noises in another part of the club, he ran over and found that the DJ booth was on fire. He told the news outlet that he saw the arsonist pouring gasoline, yelled at them, and ran after them. In a post on Instagram, the club said, "Our club was burned down last night by an arsonist! We are still in shock and need time to process! We are closed until further notice. It has been our greatest pleasure serving you and if you have any info on who could have done this please DM us." - Courtney E. Smith
