Jack’s House in Downtown Dallas Closed After Suspected Arsonist Sets Fire to Building | Eater Dallas

"A dance club in Downtown Dallas that specializes in local and touring DJs who play electronic and house music is closed after a fire that started around 4 a.m. on Friday, January 31; the fires were reported out by 5 a.m. The Dallas Morning News reports that a Dallas Fire and Rescue official confirmed the fire is suspected to be arson. Firefighters discovered two fires inside the club after multiple 911 calls; no injuries were reported, but the fire reportedly gutted the building. In an interview with Fox 4, the club’s co-owner, Willie Trimmer, said he was in the club at the time the fire started, working on remodeling a different room. After hearing noises in another part of the club, he ran over and found that the DJ booth was on fire. He told the news outlet that he saw the arsonist pouring gasoline, yelled at them, and ran after them. In a post on Instagram, the club said, "Our club was burned down last night by an arsonist! We are still in shock and need time to process! We are closed until further notice. It has been our greatest pleasure serving you and if you have any info on who could have done this please DM us." - Courtney E. Smith

I’ve been to this bowling alley a few times, but twice now my friend and I have been kicked out by the same person because they decided to close early. One night we showed up at 8:30, and they told us they were closing while 2 families were bowling. even though their online hours clearly say they’re open until 10. I get closing a little early if nobody’s around, but an hour and a half early is ridiculous. It’s frustrating to plan a night out only to be turned away, especially when the posted hours don’t match reality.

We had a birthday party here and it was a lot of fun! The staff were friendly and helpful despite it being an exceptionally busy afternoon. The space for the party was smaller than I expected (we just got one table but we really needed two or three) and it felt a little disorganized. That said, I understand it was a busy weekend and they were doing their best. I would definitely recommend other families have a party at Jack's House.

We had alot of fun. The staff was super slow and rude. We had to wait 20 minutes just to check out.

Drove 30 minutes to find them closed at 7:45 when the website and sign on the door said 10:00 pm!

Yelp
Older lady with the mustache needs to GO. Every time we go here she is extremely rude. I have also heard from other people she is rude to them. Tonight, she was name calling. Certainly not a way to treat paying customers. We also ordered fries with no onions and they came with huge onions, we told her and she gave us attitude, we finally got the right (overcooked) fries 20+ minutes later. Will not be back.

Yelp
I was able to sneak in here the day before they had to close again due to the dreaded Covid. I love that the bumpers can raise up and down based on who is bowling. I love bowling and my grandson and I had a marvelous time just blowing off some steam and having some fun while snacking on bagged chips and soda. Great place to take the family!

Yelp
Ordered food and so did my friends they got my friends food wrong and then we got ours and it was wrong it had ranch when we asked for none they took it back and 30 minutes later he comes back and it still had ranch on it. We were so hungry that we just ate it but still wanted to tell them but when we did the man working in the front got really mad for no reason saying that we were wrong and that it was not ranch it was seasoned sour cream would not recommend this place at all, it took 45 minutes for our food in the first place. When we got the 2nd dish wrong after they talk to the guy up front our friend came back over to use to tell us what the guys up front said and the dude at the food counter came over and was trying to start stuff with minors, he came over and said "why you guys talking shit". I would not recommend coming here at all!!!

Yelp
The only bowling alley in the area and the customer service is pretty awful. At least from their management. Some friends and I went there on a Saturday at 8:30-9:00. The manager, Kevin, almost refused to give us a lane because it was midnight bowling and apparently the regulars are more important than other customers who arrived first. When I went to get shoes and a soda, there were multiple employees standing around and joking with one another, eating pizza but didn't ask to help anyone in the line. When I got to the front, I was met by Kevin with an attitude. "Are you going to bowl soon or what?" I said "yes.... I believe so" and he replied with "yeah that would be good". His tone was rude and pushy. If this wasn't the only place to bowl, I'd never go back. If you work in customer service, don't treat your customers like their a burden for visiting your establishment. Especially when you're a "manager".

Yelp
Fun place for an afternoon or evening bowling, especially if you want to get in out of the cold. We played 2 games as a family of 4 with shoe rentals for each, and lunch that included 2 pizzas and 2 appetizers, along with a pitcher of soda for $100. The pizza was good but could have been cooked longer... The crust wasn't doughy, but would have been better with a bit more time in the oven.

Yelp
Great prices and a very friendly atmosphere!!! Nicest staff, everyone was very eager to help. Excellent food and beer selections! Not your typical bowling alley pizza, the 16" was perfect for the whole family, and absolutely delicious! We will definitely be going back.

Yelp
If you like bowling, this is a great place to go. It's nice and clean, and is a nice building. I've been to some pretty run down bowling alleys, and this isn't one of them. It's a wonderful place to bring a family or friends, and also great for birthday parties. They will supply you cake, food, and even game tokens i think. They have a restaurant and Will bring food to your seating area as well. they have an arcade area and last time i was there they had a screen for a virtual shooting and golfing range.

Yelp
Great hospitality! Was there for a birthday party, and the staff was great with the kids as well as my autistic teenage brother! One employee even put money in one of the games for my little cousin! The arcade, while small, is fun, and employees round up with the tickets, and if a toy is a little more expensive than what one of the kids had, they weren't turned away and left disappointed. It also smells better than most bowling alleys. We had a great time all-around.
