This is a solid spot for the classic breakfast sandwich. After living in Atlanta for 10 months now, I've marveled at how there wasn't a spot to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. Imagine my surprise when I passed by Jack's and saw those 3 perfect words: "New Yorker Deli." I had to stop in and see for myself. A major plus is they serve breakfast all day, perfect for when your running errands on a Saturday.
I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese with salt and pepper for $4.99. A bit pricier than your favorite corner store or local bodega, but it'll do. First impression? It came in a styrofoam container... where's the wax paper and aluminum foil wrap? That has to have much less waste... but I digress. Opened it up and... huh? Where's my kaiser roll? This was more like a brioche bun. But it was soft to the touch and looked good, okay let's keep going. Took my sandwich halves apart... white American cheese??? Okay... I'm into classic yellow on my BEC but I won't complain just yet, let's see how this bad boy tastes. Mmmmm! It was hot, egg to bacon ratio was good, and the bread, although not your traditional New York roll, was tasty.
I'm going to give this place 4 stars for that nice taste of home when you need it. It's a clean and fast spot which I appreciate. They didn't have Tropicana orange juice or Minute Maid Cranberry Apple or Cranberry Grape Juice (staple beverage options for NY delis.) I'd have to try some more menu options to properly give it 5 stars, but I will definitely be back when in the mood for a hot and gooey bacon, egg and cheese in a flash.
