The Best Sandwich Spots In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The sounds of clanking metal spatulas and sizzling meat is your first indication that this place leans more grill than deli. Let that persuade you toward a hot item—our favorite dishes here—like the pastrami and corned beef reuben or grilled salmon sandwich. It’s not that the cold sandwiches are bad. They are packed with the same generous portion of meats and cheeses. But very few places in Buckhead do a quick and affordable hot lunch as well as Jack’s, so take advantage. Plus, Jack’s fresh-cut fries just pair better with a hot sandwich." - juli horsford, nina reeder

Jack’s New Yorker Deli - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Follow the trail of suits leaving their Terminus Buckhead offices to Jack's for lunch. Jack’s is the best place in the area for a quick, quality, affordable hot lunch (breakfast sandwiches are served all day, too). You’ll barely have time to fill your fountain drink before you’re called to pick up your order. Sandwiches are served in those old school paper-lined red plastic baskets, which are usually overflowing with fresh-cut fries. The grilled salmon sandwich and pastrami and corned beef reuben are our favorite orders, but all the sandwiches here are generously packed with meats and cheeses." - Nina Reeder

Food was excellent, service was prompt and polite, even though they were obviously busy. Very reasonable prices, especially for the area. Great kids menu. There was a minor confusion about the menu, and the young man taking our order seemed to be new as he needed to ask for help, but they rolled with it and took care of us. They validate parking for 3 hours at the Terminus garage across the street. (When exiting, you scan the validation sticker then the parking ticket.)

This place is delicious. I had the Brett’s club with no cheese and a Greek salad. It was perfect. I love that you can mix and match like getting the salad instead of having to have French fries with it. I do wish they had a list of possible allergies in the potato salad and other menu items just so the staff know and can answer those questions. I wanted to have potato salad but we weren’t sure if there was dairy in it because it often had dairy when it’s prepackaged. Thanks for having fun food at a great price point for this area! I will definitely be back in!

Google
Ordered a chicken sandwich. Not much chicken was actually in the sandwich. Taste was good, nothing really exciting about it. The fries are probably really good right after being cooked, but I took the order to go and ate it about 15 minutes after receiving. The fries were super soggy by that time.

I’ve been coming to Jacks for almost 2 years now as my office is just right next door. This has been the perfect place for me with a busy work schedule. The staff are so friendly. I’m fairly new to Georgia and the South and we never get service like this in the PNW. The prices are good, the food is pretty solid, sandwiches overall are great. I understand the bad reviews about wait time but as a regular, that only happens every so often. And when they do take a long time on my food, they always provide updates, apologize, and make it right and give me a free meal the next time I see them. It’s also very clear that the staff cares about the restaurant and have consistent regulars that they know by name. You can tell that they are trying their best and truly care.

Google
I just moved into the apartments across the street and decided to try this restaurant out for breakfast since they were the only ones open at the time and oh my I wasn’t disappointed at all. I decided to step out my comfort zone and try something new and that ended up being the heart attack and even though the name sounds scary the sandwich itself was a banger! It came with lettuce, tomato, mayo on this soft bun with two eggs fried, pork roll and American cheese! It literally melted in my mouth. Oh and before I forget the deli dust is definitely worth buying, I’ll be back to get my own personal bottle!!!

Google
Been enjoying this company's offerings since it was just the New Yorker Deli in Vinings area as a delivery driver to them 20 years ago. Food and staff are always good and consistent. Whether one of the hot dogs, one of the shrimp po'boys, or roast beef sandwiches with fresh cut fries, have always enjoyed it. Prices have gone up fairly over the years and trying hard to think of a time where I've had a complaint, but none come to mind. The few times I've been in the area early, I've ask had their omelets. Thanks to all the crews over the years that have made my experiences a pleasure.

Google
Great place for lunch. Staff is great. Very sweet and will learn your name and favorite orders if you become a regular. Very good food. The French fries are awesome and the deli dust seasoning is amazing.

Google
This is the best deli I have ever been too while living here in Georgia for the past 3 years,I wish I found it sooner! The lady up front was super nice and accommodating (she said her name was Tay) and the food came out quickly and not only that but it tasted amazing! If you are ever in the area please stop by this beautiful establishment, you won’t be disappointed at all!

Yelp
Amazing service and location! Located in the heart of Buckhead in the Terminus complex, parking is validated for 2 hours directly across from the front door in a convenient deck. Once you enter, restrooms are on the right and you order at the counter and take a number. The service staff were great. I skipped past most of the menu because I already knew I wanted the reuben, but I was intrigued by the red pepper and gouda soup so I ordered that too. I finished it off with some sweet tea... this is an NY Deli but I can't forget my southern roots. I've tried many Reuben sandwich because they are my favorite, and Jack's far exceeded my expectations--perfectly toasted bread, tender corned beef, and just the right amount of sauerkraut and dressing. This is my new lunch spot in Buckhead!
google avatar

Jasmine R.

Yelp
I tried a Reuben sandwich for the first time, and it completely exceeded my expectations--perfectly toasted bread, tender corned beef, and just the right amount of sauerkraut and dressing. My husband had the chopped cheese, it was okay. Our son ordered the chicken club sandwich, which was stacked high with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Not only was everything absolutely delicious, but the portions were generous, leaving us with plenty to take home. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch.

Yelp
I pick this up for lunch a couple times a week and it never disappoints. The Italian panini is awesome

Yelp
I've been eating at Jack's for years! I love their breakfast menu. This visit, I ordered the Egg Bagel sandwich and the breakfast potatoes. I've never had a meal from Jack's that disappointed me. The service, in my opinion, has never been outstanding. The long wait time to receive food is a bit excessive BUT the food is so good. If you know that the food outweighs the type of service you are willing to overlook it. During my visit, there was no one in the dining room. When I left there was only one person in the restaurant.

Yelp
This was a great experience! While staying at the hotel next door we needed a quick lunch to pick up while our baby napped. I placed the order and was up and back to my husband and baby in like 10 mins! Sandwhiches were great! Fresh and good portions and I loved the fries. They reminded me of wingstop. I had a chicken sandwhich and my husband had a Ruben. My only complaint is we ordered a black and white cookie which was $4 and they didn't pack it so I had to ask for it and then it was prepackaged: we thought we were getting a freshly baked cookie. Hopefully it tastes good!

Yelp
this was my first time coming here because i heard they had a good turkey reuben and wanted to try them out. the staff was super friendly and very helpful to not only me but other customers. the food is tasty, but i asked for my salad to be tossed and it wasn't. as for the sandwich, its good but nothing to write home about. overall pretty good experience ‍

Yelp
My parents stay walking distance & today finally got a chance to dine. We are group of 8 & came for brunch. I had the blueberry pancake platter. I Loved it my wife, mother & guests had croissants breakfast sandwiches. No complaints from none in our party. Staff was professional polite & informative on any mods to our meals. I excited about getting the deli sandwich & those sweet treats at the service desk next visit.

Yelp
I love this place. The food and service is amazing. I don't live here, but when I come for work I always eat at Jack's! Thank you!!!

Yelp
Great spot for lunch. Plenty of options to choose from that can suit everyone's tastes. Plus you also get to different side options for your sandwich's like chips, fries, potato salad, pasta salad and side salad. I ordered a Turkey Rachel that is turkey with Swiss cheese on toasted rye bread and coleslaw. You get a pickle and my side was potato salad. I really enjoyed my sandwich and it was very filling. The potato salad was also good and not too much. I would recommend trying them out if you're in the area.
google avatar

Hart P.

Yelp
Good sandwiches, nice service. Your sandwich is made to order. I am a to go person and the waiting area can get full with people waiting for orders. The meats and bread are tasty/fresh.
google avatar

Kei M.

Yelp
Lots of options. Decent food/sandwiches. Wish for freshly sliced meat, like the pastrami and roast. But I don't think it's authentic as a NY sub spot. It is to the point, and seemingly clean place. I call in my orders because parking/pick up is very inconvenient. If you're lucky, you can get 15min parking in front of the condominiums. If not, you'll have to park in the garages.

Yelp
We stumbled across the gem, and everything exceeded our expectations....from the customer service, to the ambiance, even to the super clean restrooms. The sandwiches were a very reasonable size for the amount as well. They also offer military discounts!

Yelp
THIS FOOD IS HORRIBLE!!! I just ordered a corned beef on rye with mustard... and fries... Unfortunately, I don't have time to return this atrocious sandwich. The cook OVER-MICROWAVED the corned beef, so it was very leathery. Whoever NY Jack is, he needs more quality control and to raise the standards of NY Deli accountability. PLEASE don't call this a deli, if you are going to serve food like this. You maybe able to fool some folks but not someone from NY. The fries were good but wasn't the main draw. DON'T live off past good reviews, everyday is a chance to raise your standards of excellence! Just some honest NY feedback!

Dwayne C.

Yelp
Great food!! Stop by and enjoy their great Philly cheese steak and it won't disappoint!

Yelp
2nd visit while passing through Atlanta. Couldn't wait to come back to this place. Great handcut fries. Yummy hot sandwiches. Very friendly staff.
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
They describe themselves as a NY Deli with a Southern Twist. Pretty accurate because I have seen very few NY Deli's with anything like Fried Chicken on the menu in any presentation. This location is in the lower level of the Terminus 200 Building, a mixed use development just off Buckhead Forest. Not our original destination but turned out to be a great find. I love a good Reuben and this one was perfect. Often the Sauerkraut is limp and devoid of any crispness or tang. Not the case here and it was piled high with succulent meat. Overall a good balance of Sweet Meat paired with a Crisp and Somewhat Sour not from the Sauerkraut. While had the Chef Salad and she loved it. Portion size is gigantic and everything is fresh and crisp. Not a Salad with just a little meat and a lot of greens but a nice bead of greens with ample fixings as well. Service was excellent. Nice and clean and well maintained restaurant which indicates a well run and managed facility. Strongly recommend

Yelp
Got a sausage egg and cheese on rye and it was fantastic hard to find good sandwich places around here will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Marquavius L.

Yelp
The service and the food was amazing. I came here after the gym and had a Reuben and a Spring Salad and 10/10 the food tasted fresh like it was made by someone who cares. The staff was extremely friendly and the music was good and at a good volume. I will definitely be back here! The only con I have is that the forks are a little flimsy. Other than that you should go!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
After seeing several good reviews we stopped into this local spot as my boyfriend was craving a good sandwich. The Philly Cheesesteak did not impress. I am very much a "sauce on the side" girl and the menu mentions nothing about any sauces on the sandwich so I proceeded as normal with no peppers. Sad to report my sandwich had an overwhelming horse radish flavor to it. Definitely would not order again. Service was quick though and staff was friendly. Also loved that they offer coffee options and flavoring that can be added to iced tea.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
This was in the walking distance from our hotel. The place was quiet for 6 pm at night. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The beverages are self serve. In addition to the fountain drinks, they have both sweetened and unsweetened tea. I ordered a chicken sandwich. It was good, not amazing. If we are back here for business, I would not mind giving it another try with a different menu item. Don't forget to check in at Yelp first. Sometimes there's offers for checking in.
google avatar

Jeremiah B.

Yelp
The food is stellar and the prices aren't too far off either . They only downside I can say about this pace is the hours . They will close early at 3:00PM . It's a great spot for lunch or dinner if you want a quick bite in the morning solo
google avatar

Yelp
I would say this place deserves a 3.5. I got the turkey bacon provolone sandwich served on a kaiser roll. It was good, but very small portion! For $15 I don't think its worth unfortunately. Again the flavors were good but there was very little bacon and the sandwich was very soggy. I don't think it should be served on a kaiser roll as it soaked up a-lot of the sauce and juices from the lettuce and tomato. The place was pretty empty when i walked in but was immediately greeted by the staff and the service was very good! I like that the sandwiches came with a pickle spear. Place definitely has potential, but what I ordered just wasn't satisfying. I will try for something else next time and edit my review as necessary.

Yelp
Good service. Food was freshly made. Good location in Buckhead GA. Parking is a little tough
google avatar

Daniel F.

Yelp
I was pretty underwhelmed with my experience here. Everything was fine in terms of the food, but nothing special -- especially compared to other spots in the area with similar menus. Given just how baseline the food was, I thought it was a little overpriced... and the service was just OK. It's in a very pretty convenient location so I'm certainly not opposed to going back to explore the menu a little more.
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! We had a NY Reuben and a chicken pan in delivered and they were excellent. My wife and I split the two sandwiches and were extremely satisfied. Fries were a bit limp, but that was because our plates sat 15-20 minutes before we opened them. We will be ordering again.

Carroll B.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick lunch while in Buckhead. I had the New York cheesesteak. It was more plain than a Philly cheesesteak, but it was still tasty. There are a few other things on the menu I would would like to try as well and wouldn't mind going back.
google avatar

Jon R.

Yelp
Closed early and didn't bother to tell grub hub. Somehow accepted my order despite not being open. Wasted an hour of my time.
google avatar

Patti C.

Yelp
Went there after looking the menu up online. I was a little shocked to find out that they didn't have prosciutto as advertised on the menu, and in fact, the girl working there said she's been there for four years, and they've never had it one of the reasons I picked to go there was to get prosciutto and a sandwich ended up getting the tomato mozzarella Panini, and halfway through eating found a 2 inch long hair in it. Will not go back.
google avatar

Jenny W.

Yelp
Cute place fresh made here food. The employees are super chill and nice. And the food is good too. I got potato salad was a bit weary but it was good, it was the mustard type of potato salad. The French fries are freshly made and the atmosphere is quiet and nice. Good place for a business lunch for sure.
google avatar

Joanna F.

Yelp
The food wasn't bad. The service was quick but the location is not ideal. There is no parking for a quick pick up order. It reminded me of a New York deli but with really bad parking.

Deb S.

Yelp
Very disappointing! Dry Pastrami and bagel sandwich was tasteless. Didn't seem like an authentic deli otherwise the service was fast and people were friendly.
google avatar

Jordan J.

Yelp
Good solid sub spot. Instant favorite. First time was yesterday and I decided on Jacks Outlaw, however, they had many options that I thoroughly considered. Definitely want to try the Beef tenderloin, and one of the salmon sandwiches in the future. The Jacks Outlaw was pretty good. It had a decent quality steak with pepperoni, salami, and some type of tomato based steakish type sauce. It was pretty good. I added horseradish mayo for a little pizzaz. Excellent choice if I do say so myself. I had fries for my side but they have an array of options to accompany your sandwich which I love. The fries were OK. They were actually a bit over seasoned which is an overstatement if it comes from me. I did like the seasoning they used however. The ratio of salt to pepper was a bit interesting but works. Look forward to trying their Ceaser next time. Overall 4/5. Great quality, and selection, decently priced. Wasn't blown away but I liked it. Definitely will be back.
google avatar

Jazmine M.

Yelp
I just experience Jacks New York Deli for the first time and it was ok! I ordered the "cordon bleu" panini with the white bean chicken chili for a side . I wasn't crazy about the sandwich presentation but the flavor profile was on point . I feel like if they were to slow down when building the sandwich the execution would he 100%! Now the soup was phenomenal ! I actually ended up ordering one to go !
google avatar

Monique V.

Yelp
I ordered from Jack's New Yorker deli because I didn't feel like cooking and wanted to try something different then the usual Chinese food or pizza. I got the turkey Reuben sandwich with thinly sliced turkey breast, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese served rye with Russian dressing. It was okay, but I felt like it was missing something like there wasn't enough sauerkraut or Russian dressing. I couldn't put my finger on it, but my fries were definitely salty and over seasoned like crazy, I definitely feel like my blood pressure spiked after eating the meal. I maybe would order from here again... I would just probably get something else something with vegetables on it to counteract all the starch.
google avatar

Toshia W.

Yelp
Chicken Pesto, smh this sandwich looks good on the menu, but when we got it the sandwich was soggy not crispy! So the took it back, and they put it back on the press it came back to me dry and tasteless it was not good. We then order the Kick'n chicken club needless to say it was good but not put together well. We also ordered a Ruben New Yorker and a chicken philly, then forget to put my chips in my bag. The chicken philly was a little bland but over all experience was disappointing. First and last time. We spend about 45-50 on 4 sandwiches too !! To the owner it's not allowing me to message you! You will have to message me thank you

Yelp
We grabbed a hotel in the area for the weekend and woke up hungry for a tasty breakfast. We searched our area, and Jack's popped up with great reviews. It was close, so we stopped by. We enjoyed the spot so much, we had breakfast there twice. They offer counter service and they bring your food out. Both visits the service was fast and friendly. I had the NY reuben and the heart attack pork roll sandwich. Both of them were quite tasty and filling. My buddy had the sausage egg and cheese both times and enjoyed it. Overall, we found Jack's a great spot to grab a quick breakfast.
google avatar

Yolanda W.

Yelp
5 Stars .... it has set the bars for stars breakfast sandwiches and potatoes. The cheese was so gooey, soft, and creamy. Bacon was perfectly cooked, not limp, with a crisp. Very good, very well.

Aj K.

Yelp
Place used to be good, but it's gone downhill. Very expensive and quality has decreased. Tables inside have a constant layer of grease. Coffee is brewed in a bucket . Customer service about zero. I know you guys can do better than this.
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
In a new city as a business trip. Not much choice for lunch around here. Since this place was nearby, I will give a shot. There were no one in there during lunch time.. Hmm very surprise.. There's no price on the menu, I saw a pastrami sandwich so I order a pastrami sandwich. The guy said it comes with a side. So I order fries. When he told me the total was $25. Wow, I was like $25. This better be good. I was wrong. when my sandwich was ready it was really hot it looks like they microwave the pastrami, it was dry and salty. The fries was crispy and fresh, but was very salty also. Not worth for $25.
google avatar

Jovan J.

Yelp
Wanted a good deli sandwich so I stopped by this place. The breakfast sandwich and the deli sandwich I got were the bomb. The fries are also really good and they even have malt vinegar to dip them in. I give them four stars because both sandwiches were good but they were missing something but I don't know what
google avatar

Alexis N.

Yelp
I already had a strongggg feeling any place that called itself a "New Yorker" Deli was not going to live up to my expectations, but I didn't think it would be as awful as it ended up being. We ordered two "everything" bagels, which were awful. "Everything" here apparently means the lightest of seasoning, and "toasted," apparently means no toasting at all. The amount of cream cheese the bagel came with was an even bigger joke. One side had NOTHING, and the other side had the lightest smear. The amount of time it took to wait for the food was ridiculous considering the fact the bagels weren't even toasted in the end. We also got a Reuben, which wasn't exactly the best, but we couldn't say we were surprised at this point. The staff was, however, really nice and accommodating. In the end, it was $30 wasted. If you're actually from NY, like I am, I wouldn't even bother with this place.
google avatar

Drew G.

Yelp
I have never been to Jacks in person but I have had it delivered via UberEATS almost a dozen times now. Their Reuben sandwhich is incredible. It is the only thing I have ordered and always with their well seasoned fries. The Reuben is stacked with meat, the bread is perfectly toasted. 10/10. The only thing I'd tell you to be aware of, is when delivered, the fries are a little bit soggy. Normally that would be a deal breaker but they're seasoned so well the taste makes up for it. That may bother someone else so just letting you know. I can't speak for how they are if you dine in, i'm sure fine. One time UberEATS delivered me the incorrect meal. I called Jacks and the manager apologized and made the correct order fresh and sent it to me. The incorrect order was their pancakes. Despite me not ordering those, they were awesome haha. 10/10 would recommend this place to a friend.

Yelp
Ordered a bfast sandwich on a Kaiser Roll Delivery was on time, sandwiches were delicious Highly recommend
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
I ordered the Philly Cheese steak with fries. The cheese steak was underwhelming. The bun was quite empty when I got it, I would estimate that it was about 40% filled. The top half of the sandwich was all just bread. However, the onions peppers and mushrooms were a nice addition. The bread was also not classic hoagie roll, it was a sub roll that was dense and lacked a crispy crust. The bread was also served cold. If the roll can't be correct, at least toast it first. The fries were the saving grace. They resembled Five Guys fries and I enjoyed how well-done they were. Some people complain that they are 'over seasoned' but they must have a weak palette. I would recommend skipping the cheese steak.
google avatar

William W.

Yelp
Nothing special, I was hoping for a New York style deli and this was not it. My NY Reuben was just ok, not a lot of meat on the bread and the potato salad was the worst I've ever had. Not a horrible restaurant but it didn't meet my expectations.
google avatar

Parris L.

Yelp
We were looking for a good deli sandwich before boarding our flight and this place was close to our Airbnb. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich with chips. I made it a club by adding lettuce, tomato, and bacon. It had honey mustard and roasted red peppers. It was DELICIOUS. My bread was a little soggy from the honey mustard but I DID NOT care. It was warm and my turkey was slightly crispy around the edges, which I love. There were 4 other orders from my friends and every one else's food was delicious as well. I would like to go in and eat the next time I am in town. The reuben on the menu looked like it was to die for. Great food, fast service and consistency. I will be back, and I believe my friend that lives here will order again.

Yelp
Definitely was looking for the Big Apple in the Big Peach this somewhat hit the spot. I really wanted to give 3.5 but wasn't able to.

Yelp
This is a solid spot for the classic breakfast sandwich. After living in Atlanta for 10 months now, I've marveled at how there wasn't a spot to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. Imagine my surprise when I passed by Jack's and saw those 3 perfect words: "New Yorker Deli." I had to stop in and see for myself. A major plus is they serve breakfast all day, perfect for when your running errands on a Saturday. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese with salt and pepper for $4.99. A bit pricier than your favorite corner store or local bodega, but it'll do. First impression? It came in a styrofoam container... where's the wax paper and aluminum foil wrap? That has to have much less waste... but I digress. Opened it up and... huh? Where's my kaiser roll? This was more like a brioche bun. But it was soft to the touch and looked good, okay let's keep going. Took my sandwich halves apart... white American cheese??? Okay... I'm into classic yellow on my BEC but I won't complain just yet, let's see how this bad boy tastes. Mmmmm! It was hot, egg to bacon ratio was good, and the bread, although not your traditional New York roll, was tasty. I'm going to give this place 4 stars for that nice taste of home when you need it. It's a clean and fast spot which I appreciate. They didn't have Tropicana orange juice or Minute Maid Cranberry Apple or Cranberry Grape Juice (staple beverage options for NY delis.) I'd have to try some more menu options to properly give it 5 stars, but I will definitely be back when in the mood for a hot and gooey bacon, egg and cheese in a flash.

Yelp
Jack's New York Deli sells high-quality sandwiches at affordable prices. If I lived near there I would way 400lbs. ***** I. PARKING & LOCATION: They have free parking in the Terminus building. The lot which Jack's resides in is well marked. II. FOOD & DRINK: They serve different kinds of (hot and cold) sandwiches and specialize in Reubens. I tasted *The Don ($16.99), which is their biggest menu item. It's loaded a half pound of pastrami, a half pound of corned beef, and topped with Swiss cheese and spicy mustard all wedged in-between a hero role. Honestly not my favorite sandwich, since it has a lot going on, but super tasty. (It really should serve as two meals.) III. SERVICE: Super nice. Food came out in ten minutes. Fast. IV. AMBIANCE & DECOR: Super clean. They have a small dining room. More of a lunch place. V. PRICES: Most sandwiches fall under $10. VI. OVERALL: I like Jack's New York Deli. I wish one resided in my neighborhood!
