Where to Find the Best Steak Around Denver | Eater Denver

"The urbane ambiance of this two-story hit on Old South Pearl reflects the cosmopolitan bent of the menu, which layers luxury on luxury: The pecan wood–grilled prime ribeye comes topped with duck fat–fried cheese-potato cakes and foie gras butter, for instance, while the Wagyu ribeye is adorned with black-garlic molasses, macadamia nuts, and shaved black truffles. And that’s not all: A sashimi and sushi bar turns out the likes of dry-aged otoro in orange-ginger-mango cream sauce to supplement more traditional starters like oysters Rockefeller and jumbo lump crabcakes." - Ruth Tobias

During Denver Restaurant Week, we had an exceptional dining experience! The filet was unbelievably soft and tender—truly the best I’ve ever had. The dry-aged king salmon was on another level, showcasing incredible flavor and texture. Our server provided fantastic recommendations and delivered top-notch service. The ambiance, service, and food all exceeded expectations, maintaining a high standard throughout. We can’t wait to return!

Johnny be good is everything his name suggests. He is good at all aspects of his job. Superb food choices, nice to see an elevated steakhouse live up to the title, imho. I was a caregiver for a member in a birthday party, and was only tagging along but was taken care of by the staff as they supported me in my duty. Entire staff made the meal enjoyable, comfortable and went above and beyond. I left my precious pashmina scarf my mother gave me and a staff member (bless you over and over) Took it on themselves to find our reservation contact info and advise they had it and we were able to circle the block and retrieve it. Customer service is not dead, it is alive and well. Food was amazing, Johnny be good, as he called himself throughout the meal and was the epitome of this moniker, went over the menu in detail and was very attentive. Each menu item appeared to be classic with an elevated twist. Exquisitely executed, presentation, teamwork and taste were superb.

Google
Fantastic first experience here with our 3 month old for our first date night. Loved the dry aged sashimi program and exceptional steaks. Cocktails and wine list were also great. To top it off the service was excellent and they were very accommodating and seated us in a booth with our infant. We will definitely be back to try their happy hour on the rooftop.

Google
Jack on Pearl was a very unique experience from their dry aged fish to the absolutely incredible service we received Jack is something special. Starting with our appetizer, the dry aged fish was really incredible and something that I’m told is a rarity in the United States. My main course the ribeye was cooked perfectly and frankly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had from a restaurant. our server was absolutely incredible. I forget his name right now, but he took great care of our party of five and overall made an experience worth remembering overall I feel that Jack’s is a really hidden gem.

Google
Ate here for a fancy girls dinner and service was great, food was UNREAL, and vibe was upscale but also chill and comfortable. Put this spot on the top of your list, it’s worth the $$!! Dry aged fish is a 10/10. I don’t know what they do to their award winning steak but holy shit it’s so good

Google
Absolutely amazing dining experience from start to finish! The food, service, atmosphere was everything we could have asked for. Thanks to Restaurant Week for us discovering this spot. We will definitely be back! Colin was a phenomenal server. He guided us well. We started off with the Dry Aged Sashimi which is some of the best we've had in Denver. The French Onion was also perfection. The Seafood & Mushroom risotto was creamy and full of flavor, the scallops were like butter! The Champion Filet is an award winner for a reason, It melts in your mouth! The loaded twice baked potato was everything I wanted in a baked potato! The key lime pie and brownie dessert were perfect as well. We have no complaints and are excited to come back in the future! Thanks again Colin!

Google
We decided to try Jack’s for a special occasion and it exceeded all expectations we had! Kevin, our server, was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the blueberry lemon drop and scallop and mushroom risotto and my husband had the blackberry margarita and champion steak. Both left us speechless. We also enjoyed their boule, roasted veggies, and macaroni and cheese. The drinks, food, ambiance, and service were all wonderful. We WILL be returning soon.

Google
Best steakhouse in Denver. Service is out of this world. Drinks are delicious! Steaks and seafood are not to be missed! Make sure to try the creamed corn and brussels as sides! Absolutely order the bread appetizer!

Yelp
Went to Jack's specifically to try out their Happy Hour. We were promptly escorted upstairs to a pretty room with lots of light. Our delightful server, Cheyenne, took great care in her recommendations. We started with the Blackberry Margarita -- yummy! Then moved on to share Jack's Steak Tacos, Grilled Pecan Shrimp served with a terrific chimichurri sauce, and, I know it's weird, a baked potato (I'd been craving one for a few days). Every single item was especially good. It was a lot of food for just the two of us, but we managed! We're already planning our return to try out their dinner menu. Several things are very tempting....

Yelp
Phenomenal! All the staff were super friendly and our server was the best server I've had in a VERY long time. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and precise. All the dishes were cooked PERFECTLY (and to die for, btw), the drinks were delicious, the wine was incredible. This was easily the best experience I've had in a restaurant in a long time. It is obvious they care about their customers AND their food, the manager was all over the floor making sure everyone was taken care of. The ambiance felt intimidate but not too private. We ordered the sourdough, Brussels sprouts, fries, cheesecake, 2 steaks the the prosciutto vodka sauce pasta. Everything was beyond delicious, cooked and seasoned perfectly. The portions were also just right for the price point. Bonus, almost EVERYTHING was gluten friendly on the menu which was huge for us. We will definitely be back. Keep doing what you're doing- you guys are AWESOME! Everything was truly just perfect.

Yelp
Food was ok, not spectacular. I would expect better for the prices. The waiter seemed irritated when we didn't order appetizers or desserts. I wouldn't go back due to the high prices for food that didn't knock my socks off.

Yelp
There are times when you have the most amazing dining experience that when you're telling someone about your experience, you want them to relive it with you! Well, this was one of those times! I wanted to do this review, but I did not think I could do it justice. The reason is that my words would not be able to capture the grand taste of the food! The beautiful ambience! The attentive service! Sure, I can tell you about the dry aged fish or the wet, aged meat which is all impressive by the way, but it was the warmth you felt from being greeted to the final farewell. There wasn't an I that wasn't dotted or a T that wasn't crossed. Jack's on Pearl hit it out of the park! If you ever decide to dine at this wonderful establishment, you will not be disappointed. In actuality, your level of expectation just got that much higher! Thank you for an amazing evening Tanner, Darryl, and all the wonderful staff. If I'm ever back in Denver, I will be sure to come back!

Yelp
Went to Jack's on Pearl for the first time ever with my wife--who's been wanting to go there for quite some time... While I could knit-pick about "this & that," I won't, but at the end of the day our food was NOT hot, so both of our plates had to go back once & twice, plus my wife's first drink was not good, but the second one was so much better. The server apologized numerous times throughout the night (Vince was a really cool guy and he promised it would be better if we came back ), but the MANAGER who brought my food back twice, he didn't apologize at all, just obliviously asked if they finally did it right and I think if he could've charged us MORE money--he would have. Management is their weakest link. Room temperature meat is next. We have never gone to what is "supposed to be such a great place" and had so many things NOT go right, but the server was very apologetic and here is why: It was because they didn't do anything at all except for serve us both LUKEWARM food. It was the worst $185 meal of my life and trust me--I've had hundreds of them... Takeaways: 1. If you want lukewarm meat and a bunch of apologies & excuses--all for full price, then definitely go to Jack's on Pearl. 2. Hottest item all night was dessert...a brownie with ice cream on top. GO FIGURE!!! 3. My wife makes a better steak at home. 4. Vince should probably go work for Lane over @Shanahan's. 5. The manager should probably go work @Starbucks. ~Mr. Meyer

Yelp
I had an incredible experience at JACK's on Pearl! The flavors, the menu variety, and the exceptional service truly exceeded expectations. We were in town for a bachelorette party, and after doing my homework to find a spot that catered to everyone's dietary needs, JACK's delivered on all fronts! A few of us ordered several dishes and shared them tapas-style: * Grilled Pecan Shrimp - 5/5 * Jack's Oyster Rockefeller - 5/5 (my first time trying cooked oysters!) * Classic Jumbo Lump Crab Cake - 3/5 * Champion Filet Bites - 5/5 * Bluefin Tuna Mame Nori Roll - 5/5 * Jumbo Lemongrass Scallops - 5/5 Everything was amazing, but my absolute favorite was the scallops. They came with coconut sweet rice and asparagus, and that rice was to die for! The Grilled Pecan Shrimp was equally outstanding - such magnificent flavors. Easily some of the best food I've had in a while, with wonderful service from Christophe to top it all off. If you're in town, JACK's is a must-visit!

Yelp
If I could give them 10 stars, I would! My husband and I's absolute most favorite restaurant in Denver. Every food item we have tried has been the best version of that, that we've ever had. My favorites are the French onion soup, house salad, mac n cheese, and best for last - the jacks prime truffled filet. The veal Demi glaze is also so delicious that I'd buy a whole bottle of it if they sold it! On top of the amazing food, the service has always been exceptional. They have great recommendations and knowledge of the food & restaurant, and always so friendly. I wish I could eat here every night!

Yelp
We parked a couple blocks away from the establishment. We made a reservation for our evening. We called to confirm that they would be showing the boxing event of Nate Diaz versus Masvidal. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they were not showing that particularbout. We decided to stay and enjoy a delicious dinner, the service was good. The food was incredible. We sat on the second floor overlooking the beautiful view from the balcony. We started with the hummus platter and bread appetizers. They were delicious. We moved onto the French dip entrée and another entrée. I'm looking forward to our next visit for a special event.

Yelp
Came in for a business dinner and was blown away by some of the food we ate! We had some award winning sushi to start off and it was very unique and "dry aged" which was a great flavor between the regular tuna, otoro tuna, and salmon. I opted for the salmon main dish which was on a succotash and delicious. We had vegetable sides, a medley, Brussels sprouts, corn hash. all amazing.

Yelp
Jack's promised and they delivered. Cute place in a very cute area. Very inviting ambience. The service was excellent. The food was on point. We started with the Yellowtail Roll. It was amazing! I had the Prime Champion Filet and my gf had the Prime Ribeye (Champion Style). My gf said it was "chef's kiss," and we try steaks all over the country. My steak was cooked to perfection. I ate it all so that speaks volumes. I'm not a huge fan of potatoes although those were good. We got the Brussel Sprouts and they were sweet and delicious. We had a picky dinner guest and even he liked them and he previously "hated" Brussel sprouts.

Yelp
Straight down to business today folks. I've been dying to dine @jackswoodfire since its opening about two years ago. Yelp
My Auntie and I came across Jack's on Pearl during the Sunday Farmers Market. We loved they had a small outside area that we could people watch, have a few drinks, and escape the heat. Christo took care of us for our brunch, and was immediately so kind and welcoming. He answered all of our questions, made us laugh, and gave us some of the history of how Jack's came to be. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, and was a pleasure to talk to while we ate. He also had great recommendations for both food and drink pairings. (Thank you for being so wonderful!) We ended up ordering the California roll, which was extremely fresh and delicious. I am from the coast and I was SO happy with the freshness of the raw fish at Jacks. It was delicious and I am STILL thinking about the Brussel sprouts that came with it. I am a huge salad fan and ordered the Hippie wedge. I absolutely loved the dill dressing and candied nuts on the salad. The portion size was perfect (I couldn't finish) and I didn't feel heavy afterwards which was a huge surprise for a wedge! Overall, I would highly recommend anyone coming to this spot. We know we will be back and we are excited to try the dinner menu! Thank you to everyone at Jack's on Pearl for giving us a great experience and looking forward to seeing you again!

Yelp
Fabulous steaks, service, drinks and atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience, were pleased with the knowledgeable staff, the delicious food and have added it to our list of restaurants for special occasions.

Yelp
What a fun place in a great part of town. We went during the week and thankfully didn't need a reservation upstairs in the open bar area. I really liked that they had a more formal dining area downstairs where you could go for a nice date night. Upstairs was a more fun but classy vibe, a low key sports bar if you will. Our waiter was so nice and made really great menu recommendations. The wedge salad was my favorite. I had the sea bass and it was very good as was the cheesy polenta. I would recommend this restaurant for a good date night or meet up with friends.

Yelp
We came here for brunch before checking out the Pearl street market and it was a great choice. We sat on the rooftop in the shade and it was a great choice. The server was very attentive and made sure we had full drinks at all times. I got the avocado toast (no tomato). By far, the best avocado toast I've had and it was HUGE. My friend got the avocado toast too but with salmon - she said the salmon was delicious. We got mimosas and espresso martinis. The martini was a little more creamy than I would have liked, but that's just preference (my friend really liked it). Go check out their brunch!

Yelp
We decided to try Jack's on Pearl because we live nearby. We had a great overall experience but I don't think that the food itself is worth the price. We started with the grilled poblano and grilled pecan shrimp appetizers. The poblano was the best bite I had all night: a charred poblano butterflied and topped with cheese, chorizo, and crispy breadcrumbs. The shrimp was nothing special. For entrees, we ordered the truffle filet and sea bass. The filet was disappointing as it was over cooked for my medium rare order and fairly dry. The flavors accompanying the steak were good, but for $55, you expect a filet to be cooked correctly and be juicy. The sea bass was a great piece of fish that was cooked well. The polenta was dry and the dish needed some acid in general. For dessert, we opted for the bread pudding. I think this was more of a French toast dessert rather than a bread pudding because I was missing the richness of the custard you expect with a bread pudding. As for service and ambiance: 5/5. Next time, I'd like to sit upstairs in the bar atmosphere and enjoy some drinks and appetizers instead because the atmosphere on the second floor is more relaxed.

Yelp
If you want to try out a new restaurant in town and want the typical American - steak, surf and turf, sea bass, roasted veggies - and do not want to be disappointed in terms of how it's cooked, this is the place to go. I give it 5 starts because even though the dishes don't jump out as special or new, everything is still cooked to perfection. The servers are quick, my water was always filled, and they are warm and nice. The food - fresh quality and cooked to perfection. However, it reminds me of a typical new American restaurant - the dishes are typical and don't shine out in terms of taste compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood. The most memorable part of the dishes we ordered was dessert - creme brulee. I would recommend browsing over the dessert menu. Inside the restaurant are white linen tables - you get the fancy feel and decor, but with a chill and casual vibe.

Yelp
I have been to Jack's a couple of times, most recently to celebrate my birthday. I absolutely love this place, I think it is the best 'fine dining' restaurant I've been to in Denver thus far. It is located on South Pearl, which is a cute area to walk around / dine in. I've only been in the main dining room, which is simple and elegant. FOOD: French Onion Soup - 10/10, this was incredible, one of the best french onion soups I've ever had Fresh Baked Sourdough Boule - 10/10, both of the butters were TO DIE FOR; I could eat the sweet black garlic butter every day Jack's Truffled Filet - this was okay, I am a harsh critic and lover of steak, and I wish I had ordered the ribeye (my friend ordered) because it had a lot more flavor and was more tender Loaded Twice Baked Potato - 10/10, I thought about this for days after I had it, the soft potato in the middle was SO GOOD Crispy lemon-lime brussels sprouts - 10/10, equally incredible and delicious as everything else we ordered SERVICE: Our server (Wyatt) was amazing - he was very attentive to our table and gave food/drink recommendations. We had 6 in our party, and I didn't feel like we were ever waiting around or rushed - the pace of the meal was perfect.

Rachael D.

Yelp
Our waiter Cody was perfection. He was attentive, professional and very sweet. I would go back again just based on his service but the food was amazing! We had the French onion soup, wedge salad, champion filet bites and spicy lobster and shrimp pasta. Everything was delicious and the service from Cody just made it perfect! The drinks were so good too. 10/10! Can't recommend Jacks enough! Thank you Cody for your impeccable service!!

Yelp
I love this spot on South Pearl. The rooftop is one of my favorite features of the restaurant but was seated downstairs inside this round near the kitchen. The charcuterie board was the highlight of the night. The sashimi portion included four pieces and was a little disappointing -if I wanted sashimi on Pearl Street I would opt for a few of the other selections available. Wild to see their fish and meats showcased in the fridge next to the kitchen. A nice stop on your Sunday morning farmers market tour, which is the best in the city.

Yelp
The service was perfect Vince was a pro. We loved all are food the Triple Combo Sashimi was perfect. We both had steak and they were prepared to both of our liking Med for her and Med rare for me. We enjoyed the wine as well. The ambiance was just what we were looking for the ability to visit with my wife without yelling was lovely.

Chelsea D.

Yelp
This was one of the best experiences we've had out in a long time! The service we received from Ryan was spectacular and the food was the best of the best. The ambiance was romantic and so inviting. We will be back!

Yelp
Very nice holiday meal. They have some interesting sushi options, great steaks, and a nice wine list.

Jody J.

Yelp
The food I wish I could give it six stars. They started with the bread which they bring out with roasted rosemary. They have a molasses brown butter and garlic butter they serve the bread with. We also had the sashimi appetizer of blue fin tuna salmon, and New Zealand tuna. All were fantastic. The lemonade mocktails were awesome as well. The main entrees were all fantastic. Blue fish tuna and Waigyou steak were cooked perfectly. My daughter had the pasta dish with the steak tips. We also had Brussels, Mac and cheese, and the duck fries. My steak was like melting in my mouth and was not chewy at all. The potatoes on top were delicious. Next is the service. Colin our server made a great impression on me. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and just gave my family over the top service. The whole staff was excellent. This is a place for a special someone and pricey for family. And the ambiance was awesome. We were by the dry aging area of the restaurant where you could see the process of the meat and fish you were about to eat. Colin so graciously explained that outside of Japan the process for the fish there is very unique here in the states. For landlocked Colorado to have some of the best fish being served in the country is pretty awesome. Especially from a steak house. Bring your wallet and be prepared to spend some money. Jack's on the Pearl will not disappoint. Love this place.

Yelp
Well, apparently I am part of a three legged stool. Me, staff and stakeholders. Says so on this corporate poster right in the lobby. That stool is going to be in the sun because they wouldn't let us sit at a shady seat on a gorgeous day on their stunning second floor patio when we were one of a handful of customers (they wanted us in the back of the first floor for some reason). They didn't even ask where we wanted to sit. Oh well, I have always found this place so old fashioned. Like the 90s vision of "fancy restaurant" with solid but generic menu choices and expensive drinks. Maybe the place to go if you feel like you want to be part of the corporate furniture.

Yelp
Jack's on Pearl, maybe ONE of the BEST restaurants in Denver. The Service: 5 STARS They are on top of everything. From knowing the menu to recommending dishes to timing the plates to checking in to friendly banter. The service staff here really makes you feel like a special party here! The Ambiance: 5 STARS The vibe here is modern day white tables. I'm sure you're thinking, "What does that mean?" Lol. I just made it up. Essentially, you are getting an upscale feel without the snootiness and feel very comfortable here! The Food: 5 STARS There is a plethora of options here. I'd say their specialities are surf and turf, though. They do some neat aging techniques that really take the meat and seafood to another level. We decided to try the Jack's Champion Filet, Dry Aged Chilean Seabass and Dry Aged Orca King Salmon. They were each melt in your mouth delicious! The Jack's Champion Filet is an award winner and does not disappoint, while the Dry Aged Chilean Seabass and Dry Aged Orca King Salmon were served with the most beautiful sears. You could order any of them and probably walk away saying, "that was one of the best executed dishes I've had all year: presentation, flavor, etc." How do I know this might be said? Because, that's what my husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and I said. Four for four. The Final Thoughts: 5 STARS It was a winner, winner, winner, WINNER (without any chicken) dinner. Truly a top-notch PEARL in the Denver sea of restaurants! Can't wait to go back. :D
google avatar

Erik C.

Yelp
Colin, our waiter made fantastic suggestions. I only wish I had more room to consume more. We had the Chilean Sea Bass, Filet, French Bread, crispy Brussels spouts.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Let's start with the ambiance - adorable, sophisticated, cutesy 9/10 The brunch food was perfect. Way more savory items than sweet (which I prefer) on the menu. I had the steak salad - solid 7.5/10. The noodles in the salad were a bit odd texture wise. Steak was cooked and tasted perfectly and that vinaigrette was a 12/10! Would have again and again! Service was also pretty great - 7.5/10. The server was incredibly nice and full of dad jokes and comments (though these got stale as time passed). What I loved most was that you can tell this place was very well run. Managers, owners, and FOH staff were highly visible, picking up dropped items from the floor, constantly moving between upstairs and downstairs, and truly had a sense of everything happening. We need more of this in Denver!
google avatar

Laurie P.

Yelp
Great service very good food. Had a great meal here. Only complaint is that it was a little too loud to hold a conversation. Lots of yelling (music was kind of loud--) We were doing the yelling. Haha not the restaurant people! We couldnt hear each other. But a fantastic experience and food!!
google avatar

Ayetzy P.

Yelp
Coming from outside of Colorado, it's been hard to find great food In Denver. This is easily one of the best restaurants in the city. The staff here is always so kind and have great stories along with suggestions. Their steaks are great along with their shrimp/lobster pasta. Must try if you are in Denver.
google avatar

Jenifer M.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and pleasant. For me, the large television at the bar is a bit of a turn off from an ambiance point of view but our table faced the other way and was an intimate side by side two seater table (which I love). The stand out for me was the preparation of the sashimi where they dry age the fish. This is a preparation that I have never had before. It was delicious and I would go back just for that and the steak which was a flavor bomb. Dessert (an apple one) was the only disappointment of the night. It was drowning in sauce and very one note. I will be back to try brunch and happy hour on the roof!

Maria D.

Yelp
Unbelievable food and outstanding service!!! Could not recommend this place enough. For food, we got the coconut shrimp and Caesar salad as starters, and for mains we got the wagyu KC strip and the crispy prosciutto pasta (and added tenderloin tips). We were practically licking the plates, there wasn't a bite left of them! We also got the duck fat fries and the Brussels sprouts as sides, we barely touched them since we were so full but they were delicious as well. As far as the service, every single person we interacted with was so warm and welcoming. I've never left a restaurant feeling so welcomed the way I did at Jacks. 10000/10 stars, will absolutely be coming back here

Solo O.

Yelp
Great food. Great staff. Very courteous. Fresh fish. They have the fish on display where you can see his fresh they are. Classy, great decor

Ron C.

Yelp
Just a brief compliment and gratitude for the kindness of this restaurant's manager - my interaction wasn't necessarily dining, but a moment of need. I was stranded because of local transit issue and that combined with a stomach medical issue cause me to stumble upon Jack's as literally the first entity I encountered after several blocks walking. The manager could not have been nicer and more gracious. Very thankful for the kindness and definitely hope to check out the restaurant in the future. Thanks again!

Yelp
We stopped in for Brunch before the Farmers Market and wow what a Hidden Gem. The service was wonderful, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and educate us about their menu. They have a dry aged fish program which is very unique and makes the fish delicious. We got a variety of dishes from a burger, sushi, breakfast burrito, chicken and Waffles and French Toast. Portions are large and so is the flavor! Can't wait to return for the dinner menu to see how creative the dishes are!

Yelp
This place is amazing. Great food, drinks and service. Had to come try brunch since the drinks were so good. Highly recommend.

Patty J.

Yelp
We had a party of six for dinner. Everything from the appetizers (sashimi, crab cakes, French onion soup) to main course (spicy lobster & shrimp linguine, seafood & mushroom risotto and steaks) were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent.

Yelp
A lovely experience every time. The owner remembered us from a year prior (an annual birthday dinner) and even remembered what we had ordered. Very thoughtful, wonderful food, very welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
Had a great night and dinner at Jack's celebrating my son's birthday. Food, service and atmosphere were all impeccable. Highly recommend. Huge thank you to our server Paul and the rest of the staff for making the night special for our son.

Our experience here was not great in terms of service or food. We arrived for our 7 pm Saturday night reservation, and they said the table was not ready and we can head upstairs to the bar. It looked like they took on more reservations than they could accommodate. At the bar upstairs, we sat there for 20 minutes without the bartender acknowledging us or taking our order. Finally, we flagged her down to get two drinks. The old-fashioned I got was not great in flavor and was poured over crushed cubes, not a large cube. My husband's whisky, same thing. Finally, after 35 minutes of waiting, they told us our table was ready. No acknowledgment at all of the lateness. Could have been nice to cover our drinks or an appetizer. We told our waitress that we have been waiting a while, and she offered us a dessert on them later, we asked for our appetizers to be covered. Someone, perhaps the manager came out and talked to us and said it would be taken care of. For the prices they charge, I expect professional, timely service. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, it's not on her that the place was running late and poorly managed. We started with oysters, they were fresh, well shucked, but only had two varieties, a bit underwhelming. The lump crab cake did not have any lumps of meat, it was just a crab cake and overly spicy where the spice took over the flavors. I've had way better, and for a place that is high-end, this was disappointing. For the entrees, we go the Jack's Champion Filet |and Spicy Lobster & Shrimp Linguine. The steak was very well prepared, but the dish had a lot going on that was distracting, rather than the simplicity of the meat and some sides. The pasta was a hot mess, they did accommodate me and didn't put cream in the sauce, but the sauce ended up being dry and spicy which dominates the flavors. The pasta itself did not seem freshly made in-house, and what killed it was the lobster and shrimp were both overcooked and chewy. For the price, neither the service or food was impressive or bringing us back.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the hype is about this place. Steaks overcooked, soggy vegetables, and they even screwed up the Caesar salad with kale. Ambiance was very crowded, loud, and uncomfortably warm. Service times were inordinately long and not especially friendly. There are much better steak houses in Denver. Don't waste your time or money here.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere. The sashimi sampler was great and the dry aged sea bass was fantastic. Great service too!

Yelp
I've been here a few times, really only for drinks or a between lunch and dinner meal. It's been a quality meal every time and I highly recommend if you're looking for drinks or a bite to eat on Pearl Street. The venue is two floors - the bottom floor is more formal dining and the top floor has tables but also has a bar and outdoor patio. I love the vibe upstairs. It reminds me of a lot of the bars I used to go to in Sydney. On this last visit I had oysters and a vodka martini - both of which I would recommend.

Yelp
I've been here 2 times for dinner and usually sit upstairs. I love that they have a hostess upstairs as well. The place is very clean and well taken care of. I've had the Wagyu Beef Dip, Jacks Champion Filet and the Grilled Pecan Shrimp. Each one was delicious! Overall, it's a great place and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
The food alone hold this place, but the wait staff, the wait staff is why I would go back. Our waiter John was friendly, informative and down to earth. We went here for parents anniversary dinner. From steak to fish ever meal was fantastic. We tried numerous sides and cleaned each plate. Finished with a great dessert platter! We left satisfied for sure!

Yelp
I have waited a while to write this since 10/5/23 because I figured I'd get over it by now but I guess not so here is the review I feel bad about writing. Regardless, it should be told... Not good. Eleven of us went for my husband's birthday dinner and it was the first time for all of us so one would think they'd be extra attentive, right? They could get a sizable group of new repeat customers from a good experience, right? Nope, won't happen. It was the weirdest experience and I can't understand it but they treated us all like we were an imposition. Every request was met with pushback. I think it was the manager. It seemed like he had some superiority complex or something. My friend asked for parmesan cheese for her pasta and the server said he'll ask the manager (wait, what?). My other friend asked if they could leave the salmon OFF of her poke bowl and they said it'd be an extra charge. She didn't want a substitution or anything extra. She just wanted it omitted. Hmmm, a head scratcher there. But the main issue was that the wall of doors were open and we started to get cold. Our reservation was at 6:45 and by 7:30 several of asked different staff if the doors could be closed. The manager said no, that they didn't want to inconvenience the table sitting next to the open wall. A major sign was that the whole table sitting there had their jackets and coats on! So we requested the heat to be turned up. It got warm for about 10 mins but then cooled off and it was still getting colder. Several of us were still asking servers if we could just shut the door but nobody was doing anything. This is where we had to take it up a level and so my friend actually got up and went and found the manager and said "look we have asked several times and nobody is doing anything but can you please close the doors because it's very cold in here and as you can see everybody is cold because they all have their jackets on. If you actually close the doors we will order a lot more drinks!" The manager begrudgingly directed someone else to do it. By this time we were closing out our check. The table next to the open wall looked at us and said 'thank you for making that happen' and even our own server came over and quietly said "thank you for asking the manager to do that because we were cold, too!" What was with the manager?! Why was the staff afraid of him and how come he never once addressed our whole table about the situation-- he ignored us all night. So weird. He obviously had a hang up about us. Either that or he doesn't know how to read the room and accommodate people. The food was fine but after that experience the eleven of us noted that we will not recommend Jack's to anyone we know. I think our bill was about $100 a person so the total was over $1100. Sorry Jack's, get someone who knows how to manage staff and customers.
