"Accommodated in Hotel Louis C. Jacob, which boasts a prime location, this restaurant serves modern cuisine with classic touches in an elegant setting. Diners can order à la carte or opt for one of the set menus (conventional or vegetarian). Among the standout dishes are the lobster foam soup and the braised ox shoulder. The Vierland duck served in four courses is a classic option for two. Well-curated wine list. The seating out on Lindenterrasse, overlooking the Elbe River, is undoubtedly the highlight in summer." - Michelin Inspector

Certainly! Here’s a more eloquent and refined version of your review: ⸻ During a recent work trip to Hamburg, I had the pleasure of being invited by a colleague—a local with excellent taste—to dine at this remarkable establishment. We opted for the six-course tasting menu, and from the very first bite, it was an unforgettable culinary experience. As someone who neither drinks nor consumes food prepared with alcohol, I was especially appreciative of the care and consideration shown by the staff. The waiter assured me that the chef would thoughtfully tailor each dish to suit my dietary preferences, and the resulting substitutions were both creative and delicious. We dined on the terrace, which offered a lovely ambiance and added a touch of magic to the evening. It was truly a memorable night—one that I’ll cherish for a long time. My sincere thanks to the entire team for their warmth and attentiveness.

It was pretty good but not spectacular what you expect from 2-stars Michelin

Dining at Jacob's has been the best culinary experience of my life (and I've been to a few Michelin restaurants). The menu is strong from the first complimentary starter up to the last dessert and cheese. What I really liked is that the emphasis is not in presentation but in the ingredients and maximizing the flavor. Very positive is also the focus on a great part of the dishes, in seasonality and locality of the ingredients. The little portion of the local braised beef , was by far the best beef I ever had. Service is friendly and spot on, the Chef as well and it was nice of him to come and have a chat with us and other tables. If they keep up like this the 3rd star is close...

This place is magical. The food, the service and the location is incredible. If there was one Hotel and one Restaurant in Hamburg to splurge on, this is the one. Outdoors on the deck you can watch Beluga landings at AirBus across the Elbe River which both the cafe and restaurant overlook. Huge vessels pass all day. Great wine, great food, great coffee, incredible entres and deserts. A German lady told me "even their salmon smells better, tastes better." It has increased by the pleasure of my European year by tenfold. I have paid twice as much for more Michelin Stars and not ended up anywhere close to the state of Ecstasy that Jacobs Restaurant (and Hotel) leaves you in. I cannot say enough (obviously). The Big Bottle Party and their other events were also a blast. Five Stars.

Premium Restaurant with a wonderful service. Upscale Place in the evening. Avoid breakfast: understaffed, impossible to get coffee or tea or an egg without massive delay. Full of locals spending all morning

I really enjoyed my dinner experience at Jacobs Restaurant. Not only was the staff extremely polite and helpful, the soothing ambience combined with the exquisite food where without a match.

Yelp
My dad took me here for my 23rd birthday, as I was living in Germany and the rest of the family couldn't make the trip from the U.S. So to do something super special, he took me Louis C. Jacob, which is basically the German version of the Modern in NYC (that's my way of saying it is extremely expensive). Although the bill was hefty (esp. since it was in euros), every course is truly better than the last. By the time the dessert cart rolled by the eloquent dessert descriptions, which usually sound like music to my ears, were just making me sick and I couldn't think of eating another bite... Ok I did struggle through a delicious dark chocolate and raspberry dessert with gold on it- A girl can't say no to gold or dark chocolate. The interior is beautiful, but the atmosphere is a bit stuffy and I felt a bit uncomfortable having multiple waiters watching my every move. I won't penalize for that, because they're just trying to provide exceptional service. Better have your pinky raised at all times and don't forget to bring a camera, because these dishes really are a work of art =)

Yelp
Place is awesome. To avoid spending too much eat at the bar/Cafe. Formal restaurant is beautiful place. Lived in Hamburg for a year and this place sets a standard - Michelin starred chef and incredible atmosphere and beauty. Highly recommend. Service is beautiful, waiters down to earth but professional through and through.
