Essential Spanish Spot Ataula Reopens This Week for Takeout and Delivery | Eater Portland
"I saw that the seafood spot Jacqueline will begin takeout a day earlier with items like tacos, seafood buns, and ceviche, and that once dine-in service resumes it plans to take orders only at the bar, forgoing table service to accommodate spacing restrictions." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
Ordered a western omelet with breakfast potatoes since I didn’t want to chance home fries (bad reviews online) and which I really do not enjoy in the first place. I assumed any decent diner would have more than one potato option for a meal that it automatically comes with. Before picking up my order the owner called me to discuss the similarity between breakfast potatoes and home fries according to his perspective and as a result of being unsure he gave me hash brown patties. I said that was fine being that it was the only other option as well as a more crispier potato option. During that call he said nothing about charging more. After picking up my order I received an email stating he charged another $2.14 for the processed hash browns which were below average to say the least. Seriously charged $2.14 more for fried soggy processed potatoes over natural potatoes without my consent when that was my only option. When I sent my in-laws there when they came into town they were not satisfied with the service and cost for the quality of food received. Still I held hope. On another occasion I was there with my husband and the food and the service were below average. This was my third attempt so three strikes and you’re out. My in-laws were already not planning on going back. Bad service, overpriced, poor quality and poor menu options. This place is unfortunately located in the town of Bethel which lowers the appeal and quality of the town. Such a shame - Bethel needs a better go to diner you can frequent or something equivalent. My suggestion is that the owner(s) close, get rid of the rats (according to a Google review I read after this experience), learn about food first and than reopen and learn about business etiquette so you realize haggling with customers for $2.00 is a bad route to take😉

Came here for brunch one afternoon, had our dogs out right in front with us and they brought dog bowl water. Quick, good service, cute town. Had good food here and would definitely return!

Been going to Jacqueline's for over 25 years. Hadn't been for a while and clearly new people are running it. Ordered ice tea and they said they were out; it was 1:00PM on a Friday. Our normal chicken salad sandwiches had half the amount as in the past; a thin layer of chicken salad between two pieces of toast. Wait staff was more interested in talking with each other than serving tables. Guy next to us never got his bill and finally just went to the register. Same happened with us. Sorry to see an icon slump so much.

Ordered a waffle for desert with a whipped cream on a SIDE for the reason it don’t get saggy while I’m eating my meal . After she brought it with a cream on TOP by her own mistake I asked kindly to make another one as first one was saggy already , the waiter went and asked the owner and come back to let me know that I need to pay for BOTH waffles. LOL
Loosing a local customer who brings you money EVERY WEEKEND over a 50 cents self cost waffle ! The cheapest! BYE

Traditional, old-school diner, a main stay in Bethel. Very solid food and a good value. Fast, friendly service. Everything excellent, nothing extraordinary ...except maybe the waffles which look like a breakfast party on a plate. Lots of locals coming and going, waving to their friends as they do. Loved it.

It's my honor to rate Jacqueline's Restaurant. Based on all of these categories, it is the best place to get a good cup of joe, an omelette or a sandwich. They never disappoint.
