Jac's Crabs & Seafood

Crabs were seasoned well and steamed great really enjoyed them but these seem small to be large males.

I’m a new customer of Jac’s Crabs and these were some of the best crabs I’ve gotten since living in Maryland for over 5+ years. The seasoning was perfect and wasn’t spicy at all! The crabs were also meaty and sweet 👌🏾 And the corn was soooo good! That was sweet as well, didn’t need any butter! I ordered a half dozen medium males, with corn on the side. They also have everything you need when picking up your order. I also ordered a crab knife and paper with my order. They had small containers of butter if needed in the cold case with other sauces as well as side dishes. And mallets if needed. I was able to place my order over the phone. The lady who took my order was so nice and answered any questions I had. I was also greeted and had great customer service when I picked up my order! When picking up my order, I also noticed they had a layout of crabs in different sizes on a tray if you place your order inside of the carryout to have a visual of the different crab sizes they offer. This place easily won me over as one of my favorite crab spots!! Check them out!!

Both the crabs and the corn were delicious, moist and worth the price! But, what I enjoyed the most was the friendliness of the man who took my order. He was pleasant to chat with and he even brought my crabs to my car when they were ready. I had just gotten off of work and did a 16 hour day and was quite tired. I'm pleased to say that this brighted my ruff day and sent me off in a much better mood then I came lol. I meet so many rude people throughout the day. It's nice to meet the good ones once in a while.

Mike is amazing, nice, kind and pleasant. From NY not use to the kindness. It was refreshing. Now, let's get to the reason for my review. Ok the food, omgoodness! Tasty, fresh, hot well seasoned, not to much, not to little. Just right. We just moved to Aberdeen and damn this is our new spot. Love love love.

The crabs are the heaviest and largest I have had. We eat a lot of crabs but these top the charts. Price is great too!

Absolutely incredible crabs!! Got a dozen & a half medium, but got home to discover that they were most definitely larger than your typical medium crabs. We’ve just been on a crab high since we got them yesterday! Finishing them up now. Amazing crabs and just as amazing customer service. Will definitely be back! Even though we’re from Wilmington, DE…almost an hour away. 🙂 They were JUST that good. Thank you!!

Visiting friends from out of town. They picked up the crabs from this place for us to try. They were fantastic. Loved the experience, as well. We definitely cannot wait to come back and have it again.

Bar none some of the best crabs and service in Maryland. On top of that they offer military discount and better than fair prices.

Jac's (Chef's Kiss) 10 out of 10. We are picky about crabs so it takes a lot to impress us. We ordered a dozen jumbo and they were great! Heavy and large! Taylor and Chad were really nice too! We will definitely order again soon!

So this is a mixed review. This is my 2nd time here and I had recalled having a good experience last year. I was eating crabs by myself so went with a dozen of the mixed small/medium female crabs . At my normal crab spot this is usually fine for me. I was very very disappointed with the size of these small crabs. In fact I've never had crabs this small. And if it was a true mix, perhaps i wouldn't be as disappointed , however i had 2 medium and 10 small crabs. The flavor was great. I love their flavor. My review is an overall 4 because their crabs do taste good but I'm rather disappointed with the size and makeup of their mixed dozen. I will try them again to experience another size crab some point this summer.

I know they're called Jac's crabs, but I was more in a shrimp mood today haha. I got a half pound of jumbo steamed shrimp and honestly I could have eaten an entire pound by myself. Seasoning was impeccable! Service was quick, although I called to order ahead. I'll definitely have to try their crabs one day!

Got a pound of shrimp and wish I had gotten two! Flavorful and cooked just right! Wish I had gotten at least one crab; will definitely do it next time! Phone your order in before you go, so you won't have to wait.

People were nice, the crabs looked cooked well and the prices were average but.... Crabs were so light the felt like plastic display crabs. Opened the bag before I left and there was maybe 5% of the seasoning that you see on the pic uploaded here. I asked for more seasoning and they obliged. The seasoning was somewhat sweet and very fine almost dust and not the coarsely ground herbs and spices you would expect.

The best crabs I've ever had. Been coming for several years since moving to Harford County and I won't go anywhere else!!!

Amazing Crabs and Crab cakes! Seems to be a locals joint. You can tell by the photo the pick up orders were lined up. Best seasoning I've ever had! When in Maryland ya gotta have crab!

Jac's crabs in Abingdon, crabs are phenomenal you can call and give me a price a lot of places when I do that their crab is over delicious the best I've had in 58 years are you going to attend a return for being the best type of seafood vendor and I are going to Maryland are you go there at least twice a week and I have not found a better crab I have your crab a straight to the point the point crab was only people saying the fives are punch of point six inches or point-to-point just explain with the crabs are at these folks have been able to do and educate myself as long as educating them also they have their crabs out on the counter so you can see feel Touch I need to do that just to let you know the type of crabs they have the prices I don't think anybody can get down to their prices are very very good prices so do yourself a favor and you got time or weekend drop by Jack's Crab House in Abingdon I know I'm going CHARLES ATWELL

We won't go back. Paid for large males, they were extremely small and light. Not happy either he quality or size at all. Don't waste your money!

Delicious crabs! Great service and great seasoning. Will continue to go back. I want to try other things on the menu.

This place is not anything like the former Kent Island. Miss Kent Island The seasoning was great. Crabs cooked perfectly. The crabs were very small. I ordered 2dozen medium and if they were medium, I'd hate to see the smalls. I probably wont go back

I have gotten food here multiple times and normally good quality but the food on my last trip was not good. The shrimp were rubbery and inedible. The "large"crabs I ordered were not large and barely full. Highly disappointed and a waste of money.

Received crabs from them many times. They were always known to have heavy good crabs! My last visit was yesterday 7/18/21 my Daughter-in-law brought me some lrg male crabs for $70 as a gift and we received sm/med light weight crabs. She only ate 2 and gave up. I was so embarrassed bc I highly recommended them. I will rather put miles on my car to travel to Blake's for now on... they never disappoint!!

I hadn't had Maryland crabs in decades. I grew up 1/2 mile from Jac's when it was "Jackies" (Long Bar Harbor). Living in Boston now (Go Sox). Jac's only had mediums and smalls left . I got a dozen of mediums $42 and shared them with my 92 year old mother. She pounded down 4 of them! Kudos to Jacs! Crabs were well seasoned and heavy. A must return when I visit my mother for as many crab seasons as she has left.

The few places that I usually get crabs from were sold out so I stumbled upon Jac's via google search....now I wish I would of just got a bag of crab chips and saved myself $120. Out of a dozen crabs "jumbos" 4 of them were completely empty...the remaining 8 were very light to say the least. The seasoning was spot on and that is the only reason I gave 2 stars.

Good crab cakes. Tell the lady at the counter that you saw me wearing their t-shirt.

Small place not far from the interstate, so we decided to stop for some crab cakes on our road trip. We are so glad we did! The cakes are large and have no filler - so delicious! Stop by - you won't be sorry!

First time customer. Extremely small, light, over seasoned and over cooked. Super disappointing. We won't make this mistake twice!

I live in Camp Springs, MD, so over an hour away and these crabs are worth the drive. I try to get the jumbos or XL males when they have them. Last weekend I could only get medium males and they were soooooo ridiculously meaty. When I die, bury me in their crab seasoning.

We recently ordered a bushel for a family gathering and we were not disappointed. The mediums were seasoned well and were heavy with crab meat. Everyone complimented us on the crabs and asked where we got them.

We were taking US 40 as an alternate route to I-95 and looking for something to eat. The usual fast food places in the commercial strip of Aberdeen looked very unappetizing. Once we left the strip, the bright red and yellow colors of the crab shack caught our attention. We are glad that we stopped. This was the best crab cake that we have ever had in a long time! We have been to a number of other top rated places (Faidleys, G&M, etc.) and this place is right up there and maybe better, but way cheaper - $10 per cake. It was made of pure, sweet, succulent, crab meat and didn't contain any fillers (breadcrumbs, etc.) and seasonings (mustard, etc.). I forgot to ask about the source of the crabs. On the other hand, the fries that came with it weren't crispy and hard a cardboard texture to them. Although we didn't get any steamed crabs, the prices were 30-40% cheaper than DC and quality seemed better. In conclusion, we are always stopping here for a meal when we drive up to NYC.

Early crabs (May) ... so they were light ... excellent seasoning ... fresh cooked and hot ... corn was outstanding ! Will go back for hopefully heavier crabs next time ... had success here in the past so looking forward to the next time !

Was very disappointed with the dinners. The dinners all tasted the same. Cooked in the same oil. Hush puppies, crab balls and deviled egg crab were very tasteless. Maybe the steamed crabs are good but I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

I downloaded this app just to make sure people know that Jac's Crabs is HANDS DOWN the best crab place I've ever dealt with. Tried them for the first time tonight, Got the $1 crab special, which were some of the FULLEST, MOST FLAVORFUL crabs I've ever had. These crabs filled me up, and we all know crabs hardly EVER do that. Some of the best seasoning I've personally ever had. A+ customer service and hardly any wait time. These guys are the pinnacle of service for seafood in Harford County. I'll never go anywhere else. Way to go!

We have gotten carry out here before . Shrimp salad good , crab cake was a little dry . The biggest disappointment was the crabs . They were very small and some were empty . We will go to our usual place from now on to get crabs . Not here. The crabs were tiny and most were empty . We should of got our money back . Never again will we get anything from here .

This was our first time getting crabs here, and they were very good. Service was good, the place was clean inside, and the people were friendly. We'll come back for certain.

We got four dozen crabs here for some guests that were from out of town. We wanted to show them how Maryland does crabs. They were delicious, well seasoned and true to their size. They also threw in a few extra. We also got their shrimp. You're better off going to shoprite and having them steam some for you. We'll definitely be back for the crabs, but we'll pass on the shrimp!

I was craving some seafood and my search led me here. I got the steamed jumbo shrimp and Maryland Crab soup. I was surprised to find that they take the raw shrimp straight from the case and steam it up for you as you order. That was an excellent touch, fresh hot food that was still steaming when I got back to the hotel. The seasoning on the shrimp was note perfect and the coctail sauce wotked with it well. Not too strong and matched up with the seasoning perfectly. The soup was really good too. The only draw back was that there really wasn't much crab in the soup and because it's not really crab based it was more like a tomato based veggie soup. Still really good, just not quite up to expectations. Definitely worth going back and working my way down the menu!

First time customer today. Ordered a dozen XL, the only size of males left. They were pretty small, mostly medium sized and horribly light. Ordered a side of slaw and it smelled awful, most certainly the mayonnaise was bad. Was really hoping for a better experience.

We ordered 3 dozen steamed crabs and 18 ears of corn. The crabs were heavy, meaty, and spiced perfectly. The corn was also delicious. We will definitely be ordering from them again!

Stopped here on a whim based on reviews and just because I was feeling like I wanted some seafood however upon entering I got a really weird vibe. Clearly the cashier was new but she wasn't very friendly. Everyone in there (the staff) was giving us weird looks I'm not sure what was going on it really felt strange and I did not feel welcomed. Ordered fried shrimp platter which was OK at the most. For these reasons I will not go back and do not recommend. You shouldn't make ppl feel weird and maybe offer suggestions instead of blank stares.

Stopped in this past Sunday on a whim and got crabs (large), corn, and hush puppies. WOW!! These are among some of the best crabs we've had in a long, long time. If these were the large, I can't wait to see the XL's. Seasoned perfectly and no paper shells...all of these were packed with meat and delicious!! The corn was also perfect and nice and sweet. Everyone working there was very friendly. We'll be coming here on a regular basis now, for sure.

I ordered a dozen mediums and got a half dozen free. Hands down the best crabs we've ever had! So meaty and the seasoning they use is delicious.

Haven't tried the crabs yet, but the soft crab sandwich and crab cake platter were delicious! Soft crab was crispy and fresh. The crab cake had absolutely no filler in it whatsoever! Will definitely be back!

The BEST crabs I've had in years! Not one bad crab out of 2 dozen. Great seasoning and the crabs were cooked to perfection!!!

advice order before you go, also do not order their fries. cashiers were not very helpful or friendly. crabcake was so so, I think I will just go to riverside pizza for my crabcakes, much better and friendlier.

I purchased crabs from Jac's this Memorial Day for the first time. I used to get crabs from the old owner but had not been since it became Jac's. Immediately upon walking in, the staff was very friendly! That's was very refreshing and they thanked me for coming in. The crabs were decent to be smalls and I was satisfied. I will go back and hope they remain as friendly.

I drive by this place everyday to and from work. I invited a couple friends over for crabs and thought I would give this place a try. I called and ordered a bushel of #1 steamed crabs and they had them ready at the time I requested. All in all, very attentive and the crabs were delicious. Will definitely come here again for more seafood in the future. Great Job!
