Jac’s Opens in NYC’s Noho Neighborhood

"A new NoHo bar and restaurant that opened in the space formerly occupied by a long-running local institution, run by members of Authentic Hospitality who emphasize continuity while doing something new. The opening was celeb-studded (including Trevor Noah and Nicholas Braun) and aimed to soothe concerns about the change; the owners include Carlos Quirarte, Matt Kliegman, and Matt Charles. Designer Christine Gachot gave the interior a downtown-'90s feel — sleek, sexy, fun and exclusive — and staff outfits were created by Angelo Baque of AWAKE NY. Food overseen by Jeremiah Stone and Fabián von Hauske Valtierra leans toward small-share bites like artichoke-and-crab dip and meatball skewers, and the cocktail program features a surprisingly delicious caprese martini (a tomato-, olive oil–, and balsamic-flavored take) alongside simpler options favored by some regulars.
