Dim Sum in Honolulu
Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant

Google
Dim sum was terrific! Really delicious dishes, these were 5/5: shrimp spring roll (very crispy/crunchy wrap and tasty shrimp on the inside), deep fried mochi balls (crunchy sesame coated covering sweet black bean paste), pan fried chicken potstickers (large size gyoza with crispy fried wrapper and tender chicken inside), bbq pork look fun roll (tasty lightly chewy covering with tender bbq pork filling), snow mountain char siu bun (lightly sweet and very crumbly coating over sweet tender char siu - filling reminds me of char hung sut manapua ). Other dishes were pretty good 4/5: shrimp and chive dumplings (tasty pieces of shrimp - lots of chives - a little “watery”), beef chow fun (small pieces of beef and chow fun a little dry). 3/5 char siu fried rice (fried rice is usually on the dry side, but this rice was really dry and bland - I had to add some shoyu😳). Overall very good dim sum, prices for the dim sum dishes are very reasonable, other dishes like the fried rice and chow fun were pricey compared to quality (taste factor), dim sum is highly recommended! They get crowded, but the 15-20 minute wait is worth it. Restaurant itself gets crowded, but the service is pretty quick.

Authentic Chinese. A given. Surprised to discover a good milk tea here. Just doing this review 'cos of my new discovery as a milk tea addict lol. Food was great! Can be loud during peak hours.

It is located at the largest shopping mall in Honolulu. Fantastic and upscale renovation. We visit there hopping to find a place served the authentic Cantonese style chicken. We ordered two different dishes. Texture of the chicken is not as good as local raised chicken. It is plain and soft. Other dishes are not bad though.

Came here for lunch. This is at Ala Moana mall. Plenty of parking when we went. Glad we had reservations. When we arrived the place was packed. We had ordered so much food that I forgot to take pictures on all of the dishes. Fried rice was very good. The peking duck was the best! The pork buns were superb.

Large restaurant with plenty of seating- so we didn’t wait to get in,an extensive menu, plenty of helpers (went at 11am on a Friday). Had dimsum which were served fresh and hot. Enjoyed the custards & roast duck.

After having a very subpar experience back in 2013 where almost everything we ordered was out, we never returned until now. A decade plus has done them good! ATMOSPHERE: From the outside it looked like they were closed. But after checking in with the host and rounding the corner, the packed and bustling dining room revealed itself. FOOD: Beef Look Fun Roll Steamed though not as moist or flavorful as Legend or Happy Days’ versions. Roasted Duck Crisp skin and tender meat. The spouse was in love with the accompanying sauce. Steamed Shrimp & Pork Dumplings (3 pcs.) Bigger and thicker than the norm, these were excellent. Baked Egg Custard Tarts (3 pcs.) Light, eggy, buttery, heavenly! Steamed BBQ Pork Buns (3 pcs.) Like a flowering bun exposing its stigma of red pork, the spouse loved it. Fried Rice w/ Chinese Sausage In Hot Stone Pot Yowza! Delish! Especially with the lup chong. Chicken Feet with Black Bean Mmm my all time fave dim sum dish. The flavor was very bold, perfectly steamed and tender, except for one foot that was rubbery. Pan Fried Chicken Potstickers These things were huge! Thicker than normal shells, expertly seared with crispy exteriors and steamed insides. Highly recommended. SERVICE: I was taken aback as the service was quite good in terms of how Chinese restaurants go. The expected curtness was absent, replaced by professionalism. OVERALL: Who knew they’d become a favorite?

This restaurant is inside a mall. I was here for a wedding farewell lunch so was able to sample lots of different dishes. Delicious food and everything tasted amazing. It seems like a popular place and was fairly packed.

This is simply wow! Everything feels like I was in HK! My family enjoyed the authenticity Chinese taste this restaurant offers! I was so scared it might not taste good but we all enjoyed them so much! The staff who served us was so friendly and knows many languages! Made us feel like home!

Yelp
Jade Dynasty Seafood is the top big dim sum restaurant in Honolulu. No if's ands or buts. Where else can you get such a wide variety of hot, tasty, dim sum in an elegant restaurant! We had reservations for a large group on a Saturday and still had to wait. The place is busy and very popular on weekends! Our group had two large tables near the kitchen door and preordered some dim sum and noodle and rices dishes. Our group had the Snow Mountain BBQ Buns (GET THIS), Green Chive and Shrimp Dumplings (Nice big and chewy), Egg Tarts, plump Shrimp Dumplings (good), Pan Fried Turnip Cake (yummy), Singapore Noodles, Beef Stew Noodles in a Clay Pot,... Good service, food comes out hot, nice ambiance.... Worth going to if you're in the huge Ala Moana Shopping Center.

Yelp
Yum yum dim sum! I've been coming here for dim sum every weekend for the past few years and am finally writing my review. Jade Dynasty has been our go-to Chinese restaurant for a while. Whether it's to eat dim sum with the family or to attend a Chinese Society banquet, Jade is the place to go! It is conveniently located at Ala Moana Shopping Center, so you know there is ample parking. Service is good and the food is consistently delicious! There are also private rooms available for small party gatherings. It gets crowded on the weekends, especially on Sunday mornings. There is usually a long line to put your name down on the waiting list since they don't take reservations. Happy Eating!

Yelp
Opened in 2011 at the Ala Moana Shopping Center by owners Alan & Sylvia Ho, the upscale Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant is known for an array of about 60 dim sum varieties served daily from 10a to 5p, & its focus on party celebrations in serving quality, authentic Chinese food. Alan had many years of experience at Spencecliff Restaurant & partners w/ the China-based restaurant group, Paramount Banquet Halls, which operates 28 restaurants in Hong Kong; Jade Dynasty is their 1st US restaurant. In addition to its popular dim sum offerings, Jade Dynasty's regular food menu consists of appetizers, soups, seafood specialties, meats, vegetables/tofu, rice dishes, noodles, & desserts. Hubby & I selected Jade Dynasty as the location of our 50th wedding anniversary luncheon w/ close relatives & friends. With 33 people in attendance, we enlisted the help of Managers Mo & Loc, in choosing the following dishes: deep fried taro puffs & seafood dumplings (appetizers), egg drop soup w/ minced pork, tofu w/ black mushrooms & choy sum, crispy noodles w/ beef & choy sum, white rice (on request), steamed whole fish (uhu) w/ ginger onion, signature golden fried chicken, live lobster w/ ginger onion, Peking duck w/ steamed buns, remaining duck meat, honey walnut shrimp, tofu w/ black mushrooms/choy sum & fish-shaped mango pudding. A half sheet of beautifully decorated strawberry shortcake from Elvin's Bakery completed the meal. After several visits & revisions to the menu, we finalized the menu with suggestions from Mo & Loc. We wanted to capture dishes from different food groups, e.g., dim sum (appetizer), soup, meats, poultry, seafood, veggies, noodles & dessert. We had a typed menu listing that was placed on each table to let those who had seafood allergies know of food items that contained seafood. Yes, everyone enjoyed the delicious lunch choices, & food portions were generous, so guests were eager to take home the extras! Presentation was outstanding on large serving platters, & as guests were eating, staff routinely switched the remaining foods to smaller platters to allow for space on the table top lazy susan for additional dishes yet to be served. We were fortunate to have the room for 4+ hours, as our 2nd seating allowed us to stay until the staff needed to prep the private room for dinner. That was a bonus, as the introduction, meal, photo slide show, games, dessert, words from hubby & I, & socializing among guests took much of this time. If we had taken the 1st seating, there would have been a limitation of 2 1/2 hours. Service was excellent w/ dishes served promptly, w/ the order of dishes determined by the chefs, depending on how busy they were in the main dining room. Serving staff was always there, refilling tea/water, replacing serving platters, clearing used dishes, and accommodating any requests. Managers Mo & Loc were friendly & pleasant to work w/ in helping to plan this event from the very beginning to the final payment, & their suggestions were very helpful. On its exterior, Jade Dynasty has 2 huge horses & a statuesque jade disc at its entrance, signifying rich Chinese symbols of peace & balance, w/ the jade reflecting a symbol of power. The interior, which can accommodate 300+ guests, has about 8,000 sq ft of dining space w/ walls of dark wood accents of mahogany & a ceiling w/ornate, intricately crafted crystal chandeliers. It also has private rooms on the left (dinner only) & on the right (lunch & dinner) w/ free use of their LED monitors, audio & projection systems, & microphone. These private rooms can accommodate 10 to 60 people. We reserved our private room of 3 tables on the right side of the restaurant w/ a deposit to be applied to the final bill. As the tables are large & can fit 15 people, this room was perfect for our 33 people. The dark red walls made it somewhat dim, as compared to the 5-table private room on the left side of the restaurant, which appeared to be brighter. But we were glad we had the lunch private room that had the high-tech equipment, which the other private room does not. Hours of operation are daily 10:30a to 9:00p. Located on the 4th floor of the Hookipa Terrace at the shopping complex, there is an abundant number of free parking spaces; however, available spaces may be difficult to find during peak dining hours due to a number of restaurants & food courts in the complex. But if you wait, people are leaving as they complete their shopping. Jade Dynasty currently participates in the American Savings Bank "Go Local" program that offers discounts to locals in supporting local businesses if you use your debit card account. We were able to get a discount of $100, as our total bill exceeded $500. The discount program currently runs through the end of 2025 & may be extended. With the exceptional service, good food, generous portions & free use of their high-tech equipment, Jade Dynasty is definitely a recommended venue for a private party!

Yelp
Since legends seafood changed owners their food hasn't been tasting the same. So we go to our next best options for dim sum which is Jade dynasty. Their food is also delicious. It's a a pretty decent sized restaurant so they can seat a lot of people but, they do get pretty busy when they're open for dim sum! My daughter loves their snow mountain buns. This is our go to dim sum spot. The ambiance is really nice and confortable. Service isn't always quick but they do get the job done.

Yelp
Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant has good dim sum. We came on a Monday afternoon, about 1:30. They are open from 10:30 to 9:00 but dim sum until 5:00 maybe. We ordered off a sheet. Everything came out hot but the almond jello with fruit. But, I would skip it. Employees are young professional and did a good job. Dim sum has changed a bit. The baked bbq bub is now the Snow mountain char siu bun. I have had a very good one. I'm not sure if it was here but the crunch on the top can be perfect. Today, it was okay and the char siu filling was standard. The pan fried turnip or fried lo bok go was yum. It's one of my favorites when made right. The mochi rice with dried steamed scallop and chicken was pretty good. It tasted like sticky rice with stuff steamed in a tea leaf. Shrimp rolls were good and same with the fried taro balls. I've only had a dumpling in ginseng here and it's okay. We've had bad dim sum before and this was all good. It wasn't too busy so we had some room between tables. Tables were clean. They have a certificate posted for being #1 for years.

Yelp
Pro Tip: Park at Lucky Strike on the top floor -- Jade Dynasty is right next door to Gen Korean BBQ and across from Mai Tai's at Ala Moana. We arrived at 12pm on a Saturday and surprisingly, for a party of two we were seated within 5 minutes! Another tip: check out the menu ahead of time online, it's pretty extensive and can be a little overwhelming if you're not prepared. The food took a little while to come out, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The servers were so friendly and pleasant, which made the whole experience even better. Every dish was 10/10, the "Best Chinese" award in Hawaii is well deserved. Highly recommend if you're craving authentic Chinese food and Dim Sum in Honolulu! 704. Dried Scallop & Egg White Fried Rice 326. Dynasty Tea-Smoked Tiger Prawns 41. Pan-fried Shrimp & Chive Buns 20. Tripe with Curry Sauce 607. Stir-Fried Chinese Broccoli (Kai Lan) with Dried Fish

Yelp
Stopped in for dim sum during our shopping day. Jade Dynasty offers dim sum daily from 1030-1700. While there was a lot of people waiting for a table, the wait was less than 15 minutes. Once seated, we started to order and in no time our food started coming out to our table. All of the dishes were great! We ordered a bit too much food and we ended up taking home leftovers. Good food and prompt service- I'm a fan!

Yelp
08/24/25 Took my friend for her birthday. So glad I made a reservation action for 10:30. When we arrived, the line stretched to the escalators! Yikes! They seated us right away and we completed the order sheet... this is where it gets squirrly. Concrete sheet is completed it seems we had to find someone to take it... then who know when the dim sum is coming. . Good was good except for a beefook funn dish we got... the pleasant surprise was when I mentioned it to the server, he quickly responded "I'll take it off your bill".... And he did. All in all it was a good experience

Yelp
My favorite dim sum spot on the island! Plenty of parking, fast and efficient service and the dim sums are hot, fresh and tasty. Prices and portions are reasonable and I understand why you gotta wait in line. It's best if you come right when they open. If not, you wait awhile and we had to wait 30 minutes. Also, you better dash when they call your number in the microphone! They only call your number about 5 times then they move on with the "Last call!" It's hilarious to listen to and love how quickly they move on. This place is packed especially on the weekends and I loved the hustle and bustle of this place. Every seat was taken and I loved watching the servers continuously dropping off dim sums. The green pan fried dim sum is a must get! It was my first time eating it and the texture is crispy on the outside and pretty unique. I'll definitely order that again. Our favorites to order here: Mochi rice, shrimp hargow, spring rolls, Crispy noodles with bean sprouts, and now the Green shrimp and chive buns!

Yelp
After Google Maps led us on a wild goose chase, we finally found the correct part of the HUGE mall where the restaurant is actually located. Thank goodness we had reservations and others in our party made it there early. We ordered quite a few different dim sum items. I didn't want to keep taking pictures and holding everyone back from being able to eat so no photos. The BBQ pork was really tender and tasty, although a little bit too much fat. I was surprised my wife liked it because she normally doesn't care much for char siu. Everything we ordered was excellent but 2 items really stood out. The snow mountain char siu buns and baked taro buns and very unique. The pastry on the outside is very light and coated with a touch of sugar. You really should not forget to order these. I've never had anything like them at any other dim sum place. Sooo delicious. Service was spot on and food was brought out in a timely manner. Servers were all friendly and did their jobs efficiently. One customer arrived late for their reservation and the man tried to argue his wife was already there. The greeter told him she only arrived a minute earlier and they most likely had a 12:30 reservation but showed up a little before 1. The restaurant is extremely busy so throwing a fit will get you nowhere. I'm not sure when I'll be returning to Hawaii but my family will definitely make a stop here when they come back in a few years. It's worth the trip. Just don't be late for a reservation (ha ha!).

Yelp
I love Jade dynasty for good and somewhat reasonably priced dim sum. there is always a wait for a table unless you make a reservation. But you usually need to make a reservation quite well in advance for a larger party. My favorites here are the shrimp and chive dumplings. They are fried in a green wrapper, and they are lava hot inside when you get them. I usually just take a small bite and let some of the heat out before I dig in. Be careful! The char siu bao are really good. They have an option for like a snow bun or whatever and it has a sugar topping on the top of the bun. Those are good too, and the bun is super soft. However, I prefer the steamed buns. All the rest of the dim sum is really good. Not super unlike what you would get at any other dim sum restaurant. Jade Dynasty does have the advantage of being a somewhat nicer restaurant at a somewhat reasonable price point. There are dumpy Chinese restaurants they charge more for dim sum, which is crazy. I think the takeout place at the lanai food court charges more than Jade Dynasty! Everything here is really good except for the fried noodles. The fried noodles are fine, but you can get better fried noodles almost at any other Chinese restaurant. The noodles they use are not the thin kind. They're not very crispy; the meat is kind of sad. So maybe get their scallop and egg fried rice, which is much tastier.

Yelp
Been dining at this restaurant for many years as a gathering with my sisters when I visit. It is a yearly tradition. We always order the same dim sum favorites, pork hash, chives and shrimp, chicken feet, spareribs, char siu bao, to name a few. Sometimes they run out of egg tarts because we tend to go for later lunch. This is a very popular place for big parties and gatherings. So there is a wait to be seated if you are a party less than 10, because reservation isn't accepted. And make sure everyone is there when they call your number because they will give your table away in a heartbeat. That almost happened to us this past dine in. We were a party of 9, and only 2 of us where present when they called. The diners at our proposed table hadn't even left yet, but they wanted us to be present. The female hostess told me to call.my party members and tell them to hurry. The male hostess said , they still have to clean table and set it up once the diners left. They stood around for couple more minutes, but another table opened so they called us again, r of us were present the others were parking. Female said they were gonna give table up, male said dont worry, he took us to table but it wasnt set up, so we had to wait, he said 'don't worry table is yours' as the rest of our party arrived...sheesh Had a nice lunch and had we come 30mins later, we wouldn't have felt rushed, as restaurant cleared out about 2p lots of tables available.we always dine on weekdays, weekends are longer waits.

Yelp
Dim sum . One of my favorite place to have dim sum. Service is great. Plenty of tables to dine in. We got here before it open so we can get a table. It usually gets pretty crowded around lunch time. We ordered the walnut shrimp but it did not look like a full place. It was spread out to make the plate look full. lol.

Yelp
Jade Dynasty gotta have the best Dim Sum ever, great for family functions and parties. Good service and nice friendly staff. There's so many different types of foods here. Can't get enough of it.

Yelp
After much delay, having been to Jade Dynasty for eons, I'm finally confident to recommend it with a review. Really, Chinese restaurants are often hit and miss. One day it's sunshine and rainbows, the next day, it's a sh$%show. Growing up Chinese, I got used to it. It'll mean one day you love a place, the next day you vow never to return. Until you have to come back for the roast duck, or something. Jade Dynasty, no one I know would say no to. Service. It's like any other Chinese restaurants. Good service is a gift. Be glad when you get fast and responsive wait service. Be glad when you get the food you ordered. Be glad when they remembered to check in on you. Chinese restaurants are chaos. It may be one of the last classic Chinese restaurant dining rooms on the island.

Yelp
Visited Jade Dynasty for lunch...always a wonderful experience. We ordered bean sprout and pork with noodles (our fav), shrimp dumplings, char siu look fun roll. The service is fast and efficient...the restaurant itself is always hustling and bustling and very noisy but, the food is the best. Our goto place for Chinese food when we can get a table....they are always packed. I recommend going early, it works.

Yelp
The reservations communication requires review. I was so disappointed when I called for a lunch reservation 10 minutes from the time I called and was told a reservation was not needed because there's so many empty tables. It was sometime after 1pm on a weekday. I was told to just come in. I arrived 10 minutes to the restaurant, saw empty tables and was then told that it was a 1 hour wait because I didn't have a reservation. I was so upset and told the lady who was at the front area that I had just called 10 minutes earlier. She just looked at me. A gentleman said that I needed a reservation because there were only tables available for those with reservations. I explained that I called but he said sorry, there were no tables available.
google avatar

Cheryl B.

Yelp
Be prepared to wait, especially on the weekends or holidays for some dim sum! Jade Dynasty gets very busy, even on weekdays. Dim sum is served from 10:30am-5pm daily. Everything on the menu is good and I ordered more than we could eat, I had to cancel couple dishes because we had too much food on our table. The only thing negative about this restaurant is overcrowding, the tables and chairs are so close together feels like you're sitting with the table next to you.
google avatar

Thomas R.

Yelp
Came her for wedding dinner the food was great! We had so many dishes such a duck, walnut with shrimp, fried rice and dessert. They were bringing everything out so quickly and fast! The one thing I wish they did differently was to bring fried rice out first, that was the last dish brought out right before the dessert.

Yelp
This place is located in the Ala Moana Mall on the 4th floor by Gen's KBBQ. I wasn't as impressed as I thought it would be. This is one of those places that you feel high end when you eat, but the taste doesn't feel high end and the portions aren't high end. If i want good Dim Sum I'll stick to Chinatown. The service is amazing though, I will give them that. This miss one of those places that are great for large crowds, however, the prices for 3 shumai compared to the normal 4 you get is crazy. I wouldn't come back here again, but then again that's my personal preference.

Yelp
We dined here yesterday. One member of our party had made a reservation for 11 people at 10:30. However, when we arrived, we were told by staff they didn't have any record of the reservation or any reservation for 11 people. At 10:45ish, after some talking, they said they could find a table to seat us but they'd need the table back by 12:15. A few minutes later they came back saying they found the reservation and that they made a typo in the name. Jade is usually our go to dim sum place due to its convenience, however we felt like the quality has gone down over time. Har gao wrappers were falling apart in the steamers, and the overall taste was more bland and oily than we remember. As my family states, hard to beat dim sum from the motherland, but jade is a good option if you're in the mood for it! When 12:15 came around they still asked us to leave (even after confirming our reservation) but we had finished and were ready to go. Definitely make a reservation (preferably for opening time at 10:30) or you'll have to wait in a long line!

Yelp
Still the Mecca of Hong Kong style dim sum in the area, notwithstanding many competitors un the vicinity, and of course, free and easy parking tops it all.

Yelp
Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant serving Classic and Innovative Dim Sum in the morning and Outstanding Chinese Cuisine for Lunch and Dinner. We tried an amazing assortment of Dim Sum today. Their signature Shrimp Dumplings and Snow Mountain Char Siu Bao were at the top of the list. Followed by Spareribs with Black Bean Sauce, Tiger Shrimp Bean Curd Rolls, Seafood Dumplings, Steamed Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, and Deep Fried Shrimp Dumplings. Loved the Shrimp and Chive Buns. Take out available, but you must experience their huge dining room. From the front of the house to the back staff and management do a good job serving guests.

Yelp
The dining room is Huge! Haven't been here in probably 12 years. The air is filled with yummy smells and the noise level is quite loud due to very busy restaurant with patrons occupying tables of 2 to 5 or more. Very eye catchy decor with crystal light fixtures and columns, partitioned doorways for private parties and black metal carved out with dangly prism like elements filling the central main dining room. At least 4 huge flower arrangements at each corner of the room. No dim sum during dinner, no Peking duck available tonight. Wanted Minced beef soup but too large for only two of us. First entree has arrived. The ung choy was the best I've ever had, deep green, the flavor was excellent with garlic. The capital pork chops was moist, juicy and tender. It was an orangey color but tasted similar to sweet sour spareribs. One more dish to come... we need to dash off in 20 minutes cuz we have a show to attend. Just in time. The food is worth the wait.

Yelp
After years since my last review, I'm happy to say that Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant is just as exceptional as I remember. We recently celebrated with a team feast here, and everything exceeded our expectations. Even though the restaurant was bustling, the staff handled everything seamlessly. Our group of 10 was seated at a large table with wall partitions... a thoughtful touch that provided a nice level of privacy and helped reduce noise, making it perfect for a big group. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and despite the size of our party, the food arrived quickly, piping hot, and packed with flavor. On the menu: * Mochi rice with shrimp and dry scallops * Shrimp dumplings * Pan-fried turnip cake * Steamed pork and veggie buns * Deep-fried taro puffs * Tiger shrimp bean curd rolls * Seafood seaweed rolls * Snow mountain char siu bun * Chicken feet with black bean * Pan-fried crispy noodles with shredded pork and bean sprouts * Baked egg custard tarts * Almond float Every dish was a hit, and the service remained prompt and attentive throughout the meal. Hot tea continued to flow, ensuring everyone felt well taken care of. Jade Dynasty continues to impress, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for gatherings of any size. Just be sure to make reservations in advance to ensure a smooth experience.

Yelp
We were kinda bummed to find out dim sum stopped at 5pm. But since Maui doesn't have any good Chinese restaurants, we didn't mind. This is our 2nd time at this restaurant. So far each dining experience has been great. The wait staff are super efficient. You're not limited to your waiter/waitress. You can stop any of them and they'll help you. There are so many dishes to choose from. We tried the pork with ong choy in shrimp paste, sizzling oyster plate, and the salt and pepper prawns. I'm not a fan of oysters, so this comment was from my husband. "Get action!" Needless to say, he loved it. The pork and ong choy were exactly how I expected them. The ong choy was still crisp. The pork was tender. And the sauce wasn't too salty. (If you have ever cooked with harm ha, you know a little goes a LONG way.) The prawns were my fave! So crispy, you can eat the head, tail, legs, EVERYTHING! This may be our new go-to Chinese restaurant!

Yelp
On Tuesday, 2/4/25, our group of 16 club members had a luncheon meeting at Jade Dynasty at 10:30a in the private room on the right of the entrance. We were seated at 2 tables. Our preordered meal came out promptly. We were served our water and hot Jasmine tea as we waited. Our first dish that came out was the Jellyfish Chicken Salad. I haven't had jelly fish in a while and it was very good. It was nice and soft, cool, and had the texture of a fungi mushroom, or noodle as my table mates described. The savory flavoring of the jelly fish married well with the Chicken Salad. Up next we had the Prawns with Tea Leaves, Spring Rolls, and Sweet Sour Fish. The Fried Prawns were very flavorful with the Tea Leaves. My friend said that you could eat the Tea Leaves and it was tasty with it. The Spring Rolls were nice and crisp on the outside and the vegetables inside were tasty. I really enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Fish. It was tender and the sauce was flavorful. Next, our Mochi rice was brought to the table along with the Stewed Beef with Look Fun, and the Noodle Dish with Choy Sum and oyster sauce gravy. The Mochi rice was filled with dried scallops, chicken, and mushrooms and the flavors blended well with the other dishes. The Stewed Beef was tender and added to the texture and tastiness of the Look Fun. The Noodles in oyster sauce gravy and Choy sum combined for a perfect bite. Finally, we had the Goji Berry Gelatin for dessert. It was a light and refreshing way to end our meal. Overall, our group had an enjoyable meeting celebrating our Chinese New Year lunch at Jade Dynasty. I will definitely be back for more Jelly fish.

Yelp
This is one of da best dim sum spots in town! The ambience is lively and welcoming, making it a great place for both small gatherings and large parties. The food is consistently excellent, with a wide variety of dim sum dishes that never disappoint. We always bring fam or friends here if we want a good overall experience. That said, the quick turnover and fast-paced service can sometimes lead to a bit of messiness, so be mindful of that. If you're particular about cleanliness, just keep an eye out. The wait times can also be long during peak hours, so it's best to visit during off-peak times for a smoother experience. A major plus is the ample parking at Ala Moana Shopping Mall, which makes getting here hassle-free. This is our go-to dim sum spot, and we always look forward to coming back!!

Yelp
When I don't want to go to Chinatown, this is the place I like to go to for dim sum. Always a wait, no matter what time. Went around 11ish and we waited around 20-30mins, not bad considering we just walked in and there was a bunch of people waiting already. Food is great but a bit on the pricier and smaller side. They have different items on the menu that you don't find at a traditional Chinatown dim sum restaurant so we love it for that! No dim sum carts; they give you a paper & pencil to choose which ones you want & cross it out after they deliver it. Service is fast but the restaurant is so big that it might be hard to get water or tea refills if you're not flagging down a worker. Typical dim sum restaurant with old school Chinese decor and semi loud atmosphere. We usually order the har gow, siu mai, deep fried shrimp bean curd roll, pan fried shrimp and chive dumpling, chicken feet, deep fried taro rolls, fried shrimp puff, snowy mountain char siu buns, baked taro buns, deep fried seaweed shrimp roll, & deep fried shrimp dumplings. My husband loves the seaweed rolls, the deep fried shrimp dumplings and siu mai so we order double of those. This is probably one of the only places I've seen have snowy mountain char siu buns. Love the crispy cookie top and sweet char siu filling. The taro buns also have a cookie top. Fillings for all the dumplings are pretty plump and it comes out piping hot. We always love coming here!

Yelp
Came by on a whim for dim sum with a couple of friends, and it was pretty okay. We ordered shrimp look fun, tiger shrimp fried bean curd rolls, fried dried shrimp puff, taro puff, and baked taro dessert buns. Each plate came with 3 pieces, which was perfect for our group, and each plate was around $5-6, which is a pretty good price. The dim sum itself was just so-so. The shrimp look fun was my least favorite - it had a weird texture... kind of gummy and mushy. The other dishes we ordered were better, though. The sweet taro bun was probably my favorite, with good natural taro flavor and little chunks of taro. I've come here before for a regular meal and remember that being pretty good. So maybe this isn't the best spot for dim sum, but they do other dishes pretty well.

Yelp
We're visiting Hawaii for the first time and saw this in the mall, we looked up the reviews and saw that they were 4.0. Long story short, we left because after sitting for 10 minutes all we had were waters. The waitress passed our table several times and looked at us but never came to take our order. Oh well.

Yelp
Thank you, Jade Dynasty for providing us with the lovely VIP private room (all groups were in enclosed rooms this time). The service was so great despite the busy lunch hour! Tea, water, extra utensils and napkins, were replenished upon request. Staff have earpieces and microphones to communicate your requests to their colleagues. Dishes are announced so you know what's being served. Tip: Hot mustard is by request. (A tray with the chili sauce and soy sauce are already set with the serving dishes.) This is our office's return visit to celebrate an early birthday, and is one of our "splurge" venues. We go over our normal lunch budget and share all the leftovers;)! This time, we reordered everything from the first visit, then added the beef chow fun with black bean sauce and the xiao long bao soup dumpling. (I think we just increased our menu to repeat, as everyone enjoyed everything!) Another tip: If they happen to serve the Baked Egg Tart first (your dessert), and it happens to be fresh and hot, enjoy it ASAP without burning your tongue. It is heavenly to enjoy the fresh egg custard, and the layered crust is just so flaky! Yup, it's what we did. PS We even made a new fan out of a last minute invitee, who loved our menu choices!

Yelp
Love this place for celebrating events. Wonderful how this place has kept the more classic older designs of a dim sum place. Workers are efficient and attentive. The dim sum is good and portions may be a little smaller than what most are used to. Cant speak on the larger dishes, but the dim sum is worth it even if there's a wait.

Yelp
We love Jade Dynasty. A few people recommended this place so we definitely had to try it especially as I am from the 626 and I KNOW dim sum. This establishment is located inside a la Moana shopping mall and located right next to Gen Korean BBQ. It is very easy to find. Parking: ample as it is in a la moana Service: typical dim sum place, but they are pretty attentive and their service is usually pretty fast Food: we love the half moon, shrimp and pork dumplings, beef look fun roll. The one we love the most is the snow mountain char siu buns ESPECIALLY when it's super hot and fresh. I can eat like 10 of these!!

Yelp
I recently attended a huge event here and wanted to update my review. This is a great place for a large event, we squeezed 30 tables, max capacity for the restaurant. The food, service and ambiance was so amazing! I enjoyed eating chinese food at a place with lots of free parking as Jade Dynasty is located at Ala Moana shopping center. The menu that we had was: ON THE MENU: Chilled Abalone w/ Garlic Cucumber Pumpkin Seafood Soup Peking Duck w/Bun Crispy Lettuce Wrap w/ Duck Meat Honey Garlic Spare Ribs Steamed Salmon w/ Black Bean Sauce Stir Fried Chinese Yam w/ Pumpkin, Black Fungus & Squash Steamed Rice Mango Pudding Everyone on my table enjoyed every dish and it's the first time most of us had fresh chilled abalone and it was really good. The pumpkin seafood soup was unique, tasty and really good! My favorite was the lettuce wrap with the duck meat, it was very tasty, I also enjoyed the duck bun. We really enjoyed all of the food, there was no bad dish. The restaurant is such a nice place to have a huge event.

Yelp
Went for a dim sum lunch on Wednesday and I was surprised by how busy the restaurant was. However we were seated right away and I did not see anybody waiting for a table. Service was very friendly and efficient. The food was very good. Everything came out quickly and was served fresh and hot. Prices are reasonable. This was an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
The food was really good!! I love eating there but the waiters are not so friendly! It's feels like they are always rude and rushing you!! If It was not for the waiters I would have given a five star!!

Yelp
Chloe took our order and ensured we received all our dim sum items. She also checked on us during our meal to ensure we were doing well. From start to finish, this was a great experience. We arrived 1130 on a Thursday, immediately seated. We ordered about 9 dim sum items;snow mountain char siu was great!! Also shrimp dumplings, pan seated tofu and shrimp, chive and shrimp buns, spicy shrimp and pork won ton, fried fish balls, spring roll look fun rolls, stuffed eggplant with fish mousse. All delicious! service was great, staff were very nice and friendly and we will return.

Yelp
3.7/5 Although everything was served warm and everything tasted good overall, the portion was really small. Only 3 pieces in each plate (typically it's 4). Service: fast paced place. The line never ends so they want you out when you're done. The staff were polite enough Ambiance: I got a table on the "patio" section. It wasn't so crowded.

Yelp
We made a quick stop to eat some dim sum and I'm happy we did! Since it's located in Ala Moana, having free parking is guaranteed. The entrance is grand and the interior is even more grand. High ceiling, many MANY tables, big stage, big screen -- if the restaurant was full with people, I would have been pretty overwhelmed lol. But it definitely feels like you're in Hong Kong or Shanghai with the ambience inside. Service is quick and attentive. I really enjoyed it and I'm excited to go back. However, keep in mind that the price is on the higher side since it is located inside Ala Moana. But still worth a try!

Yelp
We were referred here from our Uber driver. The establishment was very clean and the staff was really friendly. We were seated promptly and they have a very extensive menu. We ordered steamed buns, sweet and sour pork, beef chow mein, chicken fried rice, and honey walnut shrimp. The sweet and sour sauce was some of the best we've ever had. The pork was tender and juicy and the accompanying pineapple and veggies were excellent. The beef chow mein came with pan fried noodles (which was a little different than what we were used to getting), but it was good. The beef was tender and the sauce was pretty neutral. The honey walnut chicken was tasty and big. The steamed buns were tasty also. The star of the show was the chicken fried rice. It was the best that we've ever had. The rice was cooked completely, the veggies and chicken were plentiful and very good. If you're in the area, it's on the 4th floor of the mall, you will not be disappointed with what you order. It was outstanding.

Yelp
All I can say is very busy.. staff is efficient. Need more menus on the table. But once you make You selections food does come out very quickly. Garlic honey ribs were dry but sauce is good. Other than that everything was good. Pork and shrimp dumpling were missing something. Crispy noodles were great.

Yelp
I haven't really had any dim sum on Oahu, and this spot was pretty good. I like how it's located at the Ala Moana mall, so need to trek over to Chinatown and figure out the parking situation. There was a line about 10 minutes prior to opening, but as soon as doors opened, it went fast and we were promptly seated. The inside was nice and spacious, and already packed just a few minutes after opening. We tried a decent variety of dim sum, and I thought it was all tasty, fresh, not too salty or oily. I usually don't crave dim sum in Honolulu because I can get it anytime in Vegas or in SoCal, but next time I do, I know where to go.

Yelp
This is a huge restaurant with lots of seating and excellent service. Dim sum is incredibly generous and tasty. We couldn't finish it all and I left feeling stuffed. While the food is very good, it's the special touches I'm fond of, from the red cushions to the chandelier light fixtures to the professional uniforms and friendly yet speedy service.

Yelp
From appetizer, soup, main dishes to dessert, food was pretty good. Service of the food came out in good order as the restaurant was fully booked. Typical Chinese restaurant, it was noisy with many voices chit chatting, but it brings back memories of the old days.
