Yelp
Humiliating experience! We reserved a table to celebrate my birthday and we were hugely disappointed. I'm a Fairmont President Club member, a status that has to be earned and I must admit that I have never had such poor experience at any Fairmont hotel in the entire world. To start with, the answer I have received to my question why we had the smallest pour of the champagne among the guests around us, was that they were very special guests, which apparently we were not special. The next disappointment was when we ordered a glass of sauterne with our deserts, and the server poured a burgundy color liquid which clearly wasn't what we have ordered. He strategically placed the bottle with the label away from us and when asked to show what he poured, he stated that the bar doesn't have sauterne and he wanted me to try whatever that was that he had already poured. No apology, no communication regarding his decision, and the manager after I complained had never replaced him. Nobody acknowledged my birthday and overall experience was quite poor. I called next day to speak to the hotel manager and whoever the woman was who called me back, lacked any problem solving ability, and she wasn't who I requested to speak with. The food was mediocre as well, lobster thermidor was drawn in béchamel sauce and spinach, cheap fillers, that totally overpowered the taste of the lobster.
I believe that 2 stars are more appropriate, the hotel is beautiful, hence 3 stars.
