I truly appreciate the care this restaurant puts into its food and service. When I placed my order through Uber Eats, the staff called to confirm my request for no meat — such a considerate gesture! <3 As a pescatarian, it means a lot to have that attention to detail. My order always arrive exactly as ordered: the vegetables are crisp, the seafood fresh, and the flavors beautifully layered. The portions are so generous too — one order lasts me 3 days! Whether you’re enjoying takeout or dining in, you can count on the best Chinese dishes and genuinely kind service. Thank you!

This was our first time to eat here and it did not disappoint! The service was great and the food came out hot and fast. Best Mongolian beef I’ve had in a very long time. This place is not fussy and very comfortable. I love that there isn’t loud music playing…you can actually have a conversation!

Google
The Singapore Noodles and the Mushu Pork were very good! Huge portions, and the tempura shrimp was very nicely coated. Service was “meh” , this place is order at the counter and sit with your number but it could have been a bit more friendly. The restaurant itself could be a bit cleaner too which is why I gave the atmosphere a 4. Will be back probably to order to-go. It has a a mall awkward parking lot.

Google
The food is so good and flavorful, it came out fast too! We had the eggdrop soup with crispy noodles the F10 and sesame chicken and a hot and sour soup!! So good!! portion size is also amazing!

Google
This place is 🤤 me and the wife come here for an authentic food experience, just look at the crispy chicken 🍗 for sweet and sour chicken love the sweet plum dip it’s not the sour type ! Steamed sticky rice is on point and sticky but not dry ! And i cant say enough about the soups they are truly the real deal ! My fav is hot and 🥵. My wife loves the almond chicken this plate has to be legit or my wife wouldn’t even waste her time ! So enjoy this place we do !!!

Google
Omg I found this place on Tiktok while I was in Corpus for the weekend. Best Chinese ever. The portions of the combos are massive. Two people can definitely eat from one plate. I had the General Chow with lomain, and I ordered the ragoos as an appetizer. Best ones I've had. I'll definitely be going back one day!!! Very friendly staff. The location is small but no wait time.

Google
Its a very clean restaurant everything in the menu looks delicious I’m having the Hunan delight amazing flavor and very filling.

Google
It never disappoints. It's spicy so if you don't like spice order zero spice. Not mild, zero. But everything is fresh as can be and you can taste the massive difference in quality vs buying in frozen and pre-prepped. The twice cooked pork was deeeeLICIOUS. Black pepper beef absolutely glorious, the wings are super addictive, and the crispy spicy chicken will give you the fire belly and happy tummy. Truly excellent. Even the fried rice is great!

Yelp
Oh, how I hate having to go back to correct a to-go order!! The food quality was up to it's normal high standard, but when I went in to order, there were five people milling around behind the counter, a couple of them filling sweet and sour containers and a couple others looking at their phones. One person took my order. I've been here dozens of times so I'm familiar with the wait times....this wait was a bit longer than usual. Finally they called my name, I grab and go. I get home and start unbagging and see that I was shorted an extra soup I ordered and paid for. It was on the receipt. I head back and take my order in, the girl who took my order helps me, sees that I was shorted and gets the soup (it's kept in heated serving setups) and puts it in an extra bag. The girls who were on their phones....still on their phones and one was actually trying to get the attention of one of the sweet and sour girls to look at their screen. If that much attention had been paid to the accuracy of my order, I wouldn't have had to come back with a sour taste in my mouth. I do know that if the owner were there (this was on Sunday and she wasn't there,) those phones wouldn't have been out in plain view. Oh, I do hate having to come back for stuff like this.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Everything was beyond great besides the steamed rice ..that can use some work. Too starchy= they don't wash it well. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Got the N2. Hot Spicy Beef Noodle and sautéed veggies (green beans only). The food is pretty authentic and very good. Everyone is polite, and the food comes out impressively fast! I've ordered the Mapo Tofu and S15. Eggplant with Garlic Sauce through uber eats, and those were very good as well!

Yelp
My daughter and I came here and left determined that we'd be back. Wow! I can't say enough about the Curry Singapore noodles! Those are out of bounds delicious. The service was amazing. We were personally checked on frequently by the manager -- as were all who dined in. Cozy spot to grab lunch or dinner. I have not had Curry Singapore Noodles that compare. Superb.

Yelp
Use to be good, wow have they slipped. Chicken was a strange texture at least the whole pieces, the rest had a texture of a shredded chicken taco. Some of the vegetables were mushy and the sauce had zero flavor. It was just something sticky clinging to everything else. The service is also not that great, bunch of teenagers standing behind the counter, screaming and yelling. It was almost like I went to a Chuck E. Cheese. Used to be my favorite spot, not anymore. The white rice was just a big scoop of sticky slop. No resembles to rice for the most part. Eggroll was crispy on the outside, kind of but then pure mush on the inside. Basically threw money away eating here today. Walked out after a few bites.

Yelp
Had the Hunan beef. Despite the pepper on the menu, it wasn't very spicy. I was also served stir-fry rice instead of steamed. The dish was a little salty and saucy, but good. It was extremely hot and fresh, too. I'd give them a solid "B."
google avatar

Yelp
I don't typically stray from my normal routine when I stop into a restaurant, but today I wanted noodles. Tried their flat rice noodles. I love flat noodles...so I hope theirs is delicious! We ordered and waited. My noodles came out piping hot with steam still coming out. Whoa! Loving it so far! Time to try my food...not too bad. A little more sauce on the noodles would have made it a solid 5 star visit. They were pretty packed tonight with news on the tv. A bit loud, but it was ok. I'll see yall again soon.

Yelp
Honestly I think the have great food. Really like their hot and sour soup and all their dishes have been delicious. Also, for the money you get a lot of food; I always get at least 2 meals out of an order.

Yelp
Tonight I am out of town for work and staying in a hotel. I'm not feeling well and it's cold outside, so I decided to order delivery via Favor. This place was highly rated, and hot Chinese food sounded like just the thing to make me feel better. Food was delivered quickly. Portions were unexpectedly huge, to the point that they wrapped my food in foil because it was erupting from the to go box. None spilled thanks to the amazing packaging. I requested my chicken extra spicy, which they did very well, and there are plenty of vegetables as requested to balance the chicken and sauce. The one critique I have is that I wish they offered appetizers, soups, and sides in smaller portions for people like me who are eating alone. I would have ordered a cup of wonton soup and a few crab Rangoon if smaller portions were available. Still, 5 stars for this delivery!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant since my first choice was having trouble with their internet and couldn't even take orders or seat customers. Jaja Cafe was just 1/2 mile away and I was eating in less than 10 minutes. I was impressed with this little restaurant's busy carry out business. Not many people were dining in on the day i visited, but a ton were getting food to go. I was craving beef and I always order authentic versus American Chinese, when given the option. I settled on the cumin beef. This was a large portion with tons of green onions and white onions, and they did not skimp on the beef either. I was very happy with the meal and it actually kind of hit the spot too. So I would recommend this spot to anyone in the mood for Chinese, as they have Americanized but also a handful of more authentic dishes too.

Richard O.

Yelp
poor quality on taste and the chicken was not enjoyable. poor customer service. I wouldn't recommend for this type of food.

Yelp
I ordered take out from JaJa Cafe located near my hotel. The reviews were very good. I ordered shrimp Lo Mein and Generals Chicken. The shrimp in the shrimp Lo Mein was not even warm, but the Generals Chicken was very good. The restaurant has plenty of inside seating if you want to dine in, and I will eat in the restaurant next time I am in town. Plenty of parking in the back. The hot and sour soup was very good and spicy. The portion sizes are very generous and they have many menu options. I will try some different entrees next time. Very friendly staff and owners.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend wanted to try out this new business because it had great reviews and I've heard good things, so we decided to give it a shot. When we arrived it was a small little business with small parking in the front and back. Once we arrived the menu is on the wall behind the register and if you dine in, you have menus in hand. It is a little odd that when dinning in you still need to get up and order at the register. I ordered the Spicy Chicken with Crab Wantons. My girlfriend ordered the Curry Chicken and Squid Rings. Once we ordered our food came out really fast. We were shocked, both appetizers and main dishes arrived at the same time. But once we started eating the food we realized why it came out so fast. The rice was bland and over cooked. The curry chicken was slimy and had a weird taste. And the Spicy Chicken was extremely salty. I went to the front and explained that the chicken was really salty and dry. I then got attitude from the employee while she tried to explain to me that the chicken doesn't come with sauce and it's supposed to be dry. I stated that the chicken is really salty, and I know that it doesn't come with sauce and that I was just saying the chicken was extremely dry. The employee then said they'll just cook it again. I asked for no salt please, and she was shocked asking "No salt?! Really?!" I said yes. I then received a new Spicy Chicken that tasted better. Even with no salt, it was decent. Maybe we came on a bad day, but this was not good at all. Service was not good, and the food was not good. I will not be coming back here again.

Yelp
Couldn't be more pleased. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was not only delicious but so fresh. Portions were great. Perfect experience. Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
We went here for the first time got, moo goo, broccoli beef and garlic chicken with soups. Food was hot tasty and ample. You order at the counter and then given a number for food to be served. We would go again for sure. Parking in limited but not impossible

Yelp
Hidden Gem Alert! Jaja Cafe is run by a local family and they are cranking out great Chinese food! Walk in, seat yourself, look at the menu, and then go up to the counter to order. They also offer to go! I took a chance and ordered both the boiling beef and cumin beef entrees. It was completely worth it! The cumin beef was on the salty side which is how it usually is made. Other than that, it was delicious and the meat was very tender. The boiling beef came in a huge bowl and was spicy but not quite "malah" hot. It was spicy on the tongue and didn't have the numbing quality. Still yummy. There are only three parking spaces out front so if it looks full, drive to the back of the restaurant where they have more parking. If I'm craving Chinese, I'll stop by here again!

Yelp
Fresh and cooked when ordered. They have "regular" dishes like beef and broccoli and items I have nig seen (like the almond shrimp). All was excellent.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant to have some takeout because we were stuck in a motel room! The food we tried was excellent and some of best fried rice with shrimp that we have is long time. Even though the shrimp were more salad shrimp (well tiny - guess that's why they call them shrimp) but the overall taste was so good it overrode the small shrimp! We also had an egg roll and ordered an unusual Curry Chicken entree which had large pieces of white chicken spiced perfectly. The food was prepared quickly (cooked to order) was out very fast. We like our Chinese food hot and all this food was still very hot when we arrived back in our room! Finally the price point is set very fair considering the more than generous portions served! If you are tired of so so Chinese we think you will be pleasantly surprised to eat here!

Yelp
Nice little cafe! Worth stopping by. Fast service, nice size portions. Curry chicken was good.

Yelp
First visit to JaJa and we loved it. Ordered General Tso's and a egg roll. Hubby had Teriyaki chicken, fried rice, and egg roll. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed it. I would order extra sauce for the General Tso's though. Other than that, we loved it! Will come again.

Yelp
The food us amazing every time we order...always satisfied.. Quick service..and friendly staff make it very enjoyable

Vic Z.

Yelp
Ordered shrimp fried rice and it was overcooked burnt rice and shrimp. The counter person probably the owner was kinda pushy when I started ordering. Kept me from ordering something else. Won't return.

Carr H.

Yelp
We visited again. The food here is so so gorgeous d and fresh. My husband had the hunan delight I had jalapeño chicken n shrimp. So so good. Egg rolls are tasty, crunch noodles are yummmm. Great egg drop soup too. Love it, definitely recommend... Service here is top notch, super clean too.

Yelp
Great local place! I ordered the spicy chicken, awesome. Chicken bits fried with a very good crust to them. Heat is good, not as hot as I was warned. A staff member came out and suggested I have rice with the dish because it is spicy. The cute cashier asked if I wanted steamed or fried rice. I asked for brown and she replied "so, fried?" Love her!! The hot green tea I ordered took a while, but the presentation is nice!

Ana R.

Yelp
(Take out) The fried rice is healthy and well cooked not your typical greasy fried rice. Not my favorite though. Their grain for both white and fried rice is different. The Sweet and Sour chicken I enjoyed as well as the chicken with broccoli. Did not like the egg rolls, stuffing was different. Good service they called me back when my order was ready, I believe because they weren't as busy.

Jamie E.

Yelp
Blah food. Picked up dinner tonight. When I got home there was chicken lo mein instead of beef and vegetables. I called and they said the online order was chicken lo mein. I don't know how that could have happened. Either way the chicken lo mein had a very blah flavor. The chicken just tasted like plain chicken. The egg roll was adequate.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time ordering take out from this restaurant. Each time I ordered Kung Pao Chicken. I really like all the flavors of Kung Pao but cannot handle the spiciness. Traditionally it is served spicy. The first time I ordered I ordered over the phone and told the lady (I believe she is the owner) that I only wanted a hint of spice added. She said ok that be our mild. I said OK as long as it is not hot. She said No, mild not hot. I said OK. I picked up my order and it smelled very good. It looked good. There was a lot of it as well as the rice I ordered. I got home and when I took the cover off the dish I could smell the red peppers. I gave it a shot and OMG every single bite I took fried my mouth. I ended up throwing it away. I am new to the Gulf Coast and have never experienced hurricanes and the past few days have had me beyond scared out of my wits and stressed like I have not been in I don't know how long. By the grace of God Corpus Christi was not hit by Hurricane Beryl. I do not have the privilege of eating at restaurants but maybe once every 3 or 4 months as I cannot afford it. After all the stress of having to deal with all there is to do to try to prepare yourself to save your own life during a hurricane I decided I deserved and earned a meal out. I do DoorDash deliveries and pick up orders from many different types of restaurants. As far as Chinese restaurants I pick up from JaJa more than any of the many Chinese restaurants in town. It always smells so good. On July 8th 2024 I decided that I would give JaJa a second try and ordered Kung Pao Chicken from their website. I made a special note "Only a teeny tiny bit of spiciness". To me "only a teeny tiny bit of spiciness" is way less than mild. I left the restaurant and drove out to Padre Island to sit on the beach and eat my dinner. Once again, I could not eat it. It was way too spicy. There were pieces of crushed red peppers EVERYWHERE. All I could taste was HOT. I tried to tone it down by mixing rice in with it but it made no difference. I brought it home and put it down the garbage disposal. Their idea of teeny tiny bit of spice and my idea of teeny tiny bit of spice are worlds apart. I am disappointed that I wasted another $14 (may not be much too many but it is all I can afford every 3 or 4 months) on a meal that went down the drain. Next time I want Chinese I will go somewhere else.

Yelp
Even just pulling into the parking lot and already we can smell the food! You seat yourself and order at the counter when you're ready. We got General Tso's Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken. All of these dishes came with a side of rice and soup. We also got the Lo Mein combination (shrimp, chicken, beef). The portions were pretty big, none of us finished anything cuz we were so stuffed. The lo mein was so garlicky omgosh I loved it. Everything was just amazing. The place itself was busy and can be a bit lively and messy with deliveries and people coming in and out but that's a good sign right? Also the food arrived so incredibly fast!! We're in town visiting from Austin and nothing in Austin even comes remotely close to good Chinese like this. After a day at the beach, this place really hit the spot. I'm so sad our summer vacay is ending I'll never have this food again until next year if we come back! Thank you Jaja Café for the best dinner and a wonderful ending to our summer vacation!

Yelp
If you're at Corpus Christi .....you must visit!!!! Very very good quality, lots of space, private parking, and I'm recommending this to all my friends and nobody had anything bad to say. You pay up front, they bring it to your table, you eat. It's quick. Can be messy. Great great great place!

Yelp
Had that chicken...could not eat it... Salty is a understatement!!Crispy Hot Spicy Chicken

Yelp
Ordered chicken broccoli, shrimp fried rice and curry chicken. 2 of them came with your choice of an egg roll or a spring roll. Also came with a dipping sauce that went really well with the egg roll. There was enough food for 2 meals. Everything was excellent. Order ahead, seems like they are very busy.

Yelp
Went to Ja Ja today with my husband. We both ordered lemon chicken. This was at the counter at 11:19. They brought us our egg drop soup right away. About 11:49. We ask about our meal. They gentleman said it was coming they had a new cook. As the 5th person that came in after us was served. We went and asked for our money back and ate elsewhere. This was the seconded time that we had an issue getting our order of lemon chicken. They have good food. But after dealing with this twice. We won't be back.

J. B.

Yelp
We picked up potstickers, fried rice and the hot and sour soup. It was hot when we got it home. The potstickers were very good. Need more dipping sauce. The fried rice was good. Tasty The hot and sour soup was served with crispy chips. The soup was dark, thick and kinda oily. It has an okay flavor - not like hot and sour but okay. I was disappointed in that.

Kathy G.

Yelp
The food is large portions, always served fresh and hot. Hot and sour soup is the best I have had. Owner is attentive. Staff are pleasant and hard working. Order at counter and food is brought to your table. It is not fancy, but food is always good.
google avatar

Elissa M.

Yelp
I first heard of this restaurant from a friend who loves eating here, and many people I know love the food here. I have been a few times and have enjoyed it very much each time. I'm not big on fried fish but the crispy fish is to die for! Might be my favorite thing on the menu. I've tried and enjoyed the spicy boiled fish (warning it's quite spicy), the wanton soup, mapo tofu, and Taiwan noodle soup. The usual dishes like the orange chicken and general Tso chicken are solid too. I am working my way through more of the menu because there is so much more I'd like to try!
google avatar

Kimberly F.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of ordering from JaJa's several times. EVERY time they've knocked our orders out of the park. Nothing was bad, nothing was wrong, our order was perfect and just like we expected it to be. I've tried all the other places around town and nothing comes close to JaJa's.

Dalinda A.

Yelp
We were so disappointed with the order of sesame chicken last night. I almost lost a tooth trying to bite into the so called chicken nuggets. They were so hard, some had no meat at all, other pieces were mostly flour and grease. The fried rice was soggy and tasteless. The egg roll was very good but it did not satisfy my hunger because I had to trash the rest of the food. This order was placed at 6:30 PM. It was dinner time but it was not fresh! How can some folks say this is good eating? Sorry to disagree!
google avatar

LaToya M.

Yelp
This is my second time trying JaJa Cafe, the first time was horrible, but since the reviews have gotten better, I decided to give it another try. I spent $40 on food and threw it all away. The Wonton soup was so salty it was inedible. The chicken was soggy and undercooked. The rice was soggy and flavorless. The egg rolls were greasy and over fried. I would not recommend this place, there are much better places in Corpus!
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
I got Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and it's worth the hype! The owner came out and chatted with me. She was surprised to meet a vegan Chinese person, so she highlighted all the vegetarian/vegan dishes on the menu for future reference. They take orders over the phone and also on DoorDash, I would definitely order from here again so I can try other vegan dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
There aren't too many Chinese food restaurants in Corpus Christi that set themselves apart from the myriad of heat-up-and-serve buffet places in this town. JaJa is anything BUT ordinary. It's fresh, it's hot, plentiful at a good price. It's also very clean and super friendly. From the moment you walk in, you can tell the difference. It's "cozy." No massive buffet section... in fact, no buffet at all. You order at the register from a large menu of options ranging from the very familiar to the more 'authentic.' I ordered the Happy Family (a go to judge for Chinese cuisine). If done right, there are big vegetables, good ratio of meats and a tangy brown sauce. Check, check, check. JaJa does it right. The vegetables were crisp, but not underdone. The beef was tender. Chicken tasty. And the shrimp were BIG! It came out of the kitchen within a few minutes of ordering and it was HOT and very good. I ordered with the steamed rice and an egg roll (their "combo" plate). The rice was done perfectly with just enough starchiness to hold together. The egg roll did NOT taste like a heat-and-serve kind but more house-made. The vegetables inside were not mushy and were full of flavor - almost Cantonese style. Really, really good. All-in-all, a truly good find! Again, service is quite friendly. The owner/manager came out to ask if everything was okay. The one taking orders up front was patient while we decided what we wanted and were asking questions. An excellent lunch - I look forward to coming back.

Chris M.

Yelp
Nice big portions of good Chinese food. Not the best, but very good food. I found the fried rice lacking in flavor but the chicken and vegetables delivered just what I was looking for. Good stuff!
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Excellent service and food! Everything came out extremely hot and fresh. The tofu was perfectly crisp and flavored. They provide decent portions so I had enough to take some to go! The hot and sour soup - veggie friendly - had just the right amount of spice and flavor! Absolutely recommend to try!

Yelp
Went for the first time this week when moving my son into college. We are from San Antonio. GREAT food! I had the Gen. Tso's chicken & rice, and I dont remember what the other 3 in my family ordered, but we enjoyed ALL of it! The portions were large- we had leftovers to enjoy the next day. The owner came over to our table and talked with us! Such a sweet lady. Recommended Chinese restaurants for us to try in SA as well! We'll definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered Singapore Noodles with Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice and General Tso Chicken for takeout and everything was ready in less than 20 minutes. It was delicious and piping hot. The service there was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I do recommend this restaurant. Thank you very much.

Yelp
I was hearing very good reviews from my friends telling me this was the best place to get Chinese food. So I went ordered take out with 6 items fried rice, noodles, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, and king pow chicken my favorite. Very disappointed didn't keep leftovers or eat what was on my plate I threw them away. Worst Chinese food around. Bland, no flavor, noodles were soggy, beef was mushy and tasted weird, chicken was so greasy I couldn't eat it.

Yelp
Chicken with broccoli in white sauce is delicious Shrimp combination fried rice The egg drop soup is a little too salty but not watery at all.

Yelp
First and last time. Food was expensive and not very good. My wife had fried rice. I had curry noodles. Neither were very good. Not bad, just nothing worth the price we paid. Crab Rangoon had no crab flavor at all. Just fried won ton with cream cheese. I wanted to like this place. It was disappointing.
