We’ve been a handful of times. The bartenders and servers are great. Really nice people never had any issues. I liked the appetizers. Haven’t had much else food wise,.l wasn’t a fan of this entree although quality of the food was right it was lacking flavor big time. But we will still be going back to try other menu items. They have a great wine selection and full bar. Atmosphere is very nice. They have deals throughout the week. It’s a really great spot for just about anything lunch , dinner, happy hour. Sundays are great free parking on street. Check them out if you haven’t already

If you are looking for a fun restaurant that will not put you on a timer, serving delicious food, and located in a fun town for adults only, this is the place to be! We went to celebrate my husband's friend's birthday and we all had fun filled with food, drinks, and laughter! The atmosphere is intimate and mature! The drinks are top shelf, the Wine Wall makes choosing one very difficult, and the food portions are shareable. I gave the service 3 stars due to slow service. During our time there, our server didn't give us the quality of service we expected for the amount of food, drinks, and dessert our entire table ordered. We do plan to go back, but not on a Saturday.

Love this place. Great atmosphere, food and drinks. Server Scott was super helpful with different ideas and suggestions. Drinks were well made and there is a good wine selection. Not from this area but if I lived here I would definitely visit often. Hopefully next trip we can stop by. Met the owner and son…very friendly and thoughtful. Great place for more mature crowd, not college party crowd.

This is a great place for happy hour, light food and drinks with friends, or even a date. The atmosphere was good, so was the food, and service.

Great atmosphere. Our service was absolutely wonderful! Great drinks and salad. The pizzas looked delicious but unfortunately weren't to our liking. Very oily, messy and fell off crust. (No one should eat pizza with a fork!😉) I'm guessing it was the cheese we didn't like. I'm sure others like it. We'll definitely be back.

Finally got to sit near the large open window in the front. This place has been on my bucket list since I moved to the area. My fiance and I experienced great service, great cocktails, and great food. This is more upscale than most of the restaurants on Main St if not all of them. Very pleased! I recommend the short rib pizza if you end up ordering one.

We were there having a late lunch with our friends from Manayunk. It was our first time eating at Jakes & Cooper's. I tried Liver Pate' my first time ever and It was delicious 🤤!!! A great place to try it your 1st time! The raspberry jelly with it to top it off was just perfect! I also had a Mixed greens salad W/ grilled shrimp that was very good! Everything everyone else had they all really enjoyed! I definitely will go back to eat at Jake's!

I've been here many times, it's a very nice looking place with a great bar, and the food is always good! I don't know what is in their maple butter for their bread but it is TO DIE for! I tried out a class at the wine school and it was so fun! Only $15 bucks to try multiple wines and you can still order food? - Amazing!! The staff really know what they're talking about and it makes for a super fun evening.

I continue to enjoy my visits to Jake's! Happy Hour continues to deliver...house wine...cocktails and great appetizers! The service and ambiance always delivers and the food remains consistent! I will continue to say..one of the best Happy Hours on Main Street in Manayunk!

The service here was great. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. The bread was good but the crab cakes were not great. The wine also was not bad but it was not inspiring or excellent by any means. Would likely not return. The Shiraz we got from the retail area was good though and properly priced.

- Convenient location. - Friendly attentive and helpful staff (Taylor). - Tasty food. - Inviting, attractive and large space. - Reservations are taken. My two favorite bites of the evenings were the Asian meatball app and the spicy shrimp app. Both were fun flavor bombs.

When it comes to pizza you can't beat a good ole fashion brick oven. All my friends in Manyunk are always talking about Jake & Coopers happy hour so I finally had to try. Was not disappointed. Snagged one of the booths and had a direct line of sight to the warm flame of the oven. How could I not order one of the pizzas? After a couple minutes of indecisiveness and help from the wait staff, I went with the Short Rib pizza. Amazing, delicious, and any other adjectives that would describe just good food. I'll have to come back to try some of the other pizzas. I've got my eye on the Spicy Meatball. I see why people come to this Main Street staple. I might become their next regular. PS: everyone that works is super nice and fun to talk to.

I've been going to this restaurant for 10 years, 2-3 times a month. Lately I've noticed that the pizzas are complete crap and the food in general has gone bad. I also ate the burger 2 weeks ago and it wasn't tasty either!! I ordered pizza to go, one pizza was normal and the other was burnt from the bottom and raw inside. the owner called me back and said that we should check at the pizza from the bottom before we take it home. He also said that there is no way that the pizza was overcooked upon leaving his place...basically calling me a liar. This already happened 2 months ago and it's a shame, owner doesn't care about the customers and also his son is a drug addict who works there as a manager, he stinks, looks like homeless . I'm never going back!!! Not recommended anymore this place sUCks there are dead flies in the lamps

Nice, mellow atmosphere, great wine recommendations by my server, and delicious gnocchi. My only slight complaint is that although the chocolate bread pudding was to die for, it tasted like a chocolate flourless cake, not bread pudding. Will definitely return!

I come here pretty frequently. The atmosphere is great at the bar, the windows open wide to a great view of Main Street, and makes for excellent people watching. Every time I go, I always opt for the cheese plate. You absolutely cannot go wrong. Not only do they give you a great variety of cheese, the accompanying fruits and spreads are also amazing (fig spread!!). They also have a great selection of wines, and a bottle shop for an expanded section of wines that you are able to uncork and enjoy at the bar, too, for an addition charge. If cheese plates aren't your thing, they have great wood fired pizza too. The only reason for the three stars, is because the main entrées are a bit on the smaller side for the price point. But, don't get me wrong they are still tasty. It is a great staple on Main Street, for sure.

The salmon is out of this world!!! I would come back just to get that. Excellent, friendly staff and so many good choices as far as both wine and food. Highly recommend. In addition to the salmon, we tried the everything seasoning bread, burrata, and gnocchi. All was outstanding, and the wine flights were very fun. Thanks for a great experience!

A great place for lunch! My mom and I stopped by and had two appetizers, the shrimp verde and tuna tartare and split a bottle of rosé. The shrimp verde was incredible, tuna tartare was alright! Loved the service and they were friendly to my dog who I brought to dine outside.

Brick Oven PizzaGrilled Octopus Salad The service and food were delicious! The octopus salad was delicious. The cheese board and wine was also worth getting. Although pricey, I felt like it was well deserved.

This was so banging. I'd go back for both and to try another one! Our Waitress was Drew and she was so stinking sweet. Portobello pizza & spicy meatball pizza in the back. Edited to add: we ordered a cucumber mint lemonade, even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it work

We had a great meal last Wednesday We enjoyed the cheese board, rigatoni with asparagus and for entree you can't go wrong with the burger and crab cake. It's nice to see one of Philly's finest restaurants morph into something more casual and fun by adding a wine bar and retail wine store, we loved the rose selection and well priced wine selection from around the world. This restaurant has the same ownership for a long time and it has transitioned into the next generation. Very rare in todays restaurant scene, and it shows in the quality of food, wine, and excellent service!

NO! What a waste of money I make better pasta at home The food tasted bland and aside from one person, the staff had an attitude, especially the guy at the front door. I sent one fish back because it was undercooked & they seemed mad about it. Not returning

"I'd rather just stay at home and eat a bagel." - my wife. So start off with a nice... the service here was great. Waiter was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. They add gratuity and he was sure to circle it so we caught it. The rest wasn't so great. My wife got the ravioli and it was all sauce. Barely any ravs. She also got Parmesan fries they were good but come on red Robin does it well too. I got the octopus salad. The octopus pieces were pretty burnt. One little tentacle was completely black. I couldn't tell what flavor the salad as a whole was going for. It had whole roasted potatoes in it with capers. This place is also fairly expensive. The fries are $8. The salad was $19. My wife got wine and her ravs. The bill was $91. It seemed pretty similar to the other places we tried in manayunk. So maybe the scene out there just tastes different. I doubt we will stop by again.

Cute wine bar right on the Main Street in Manayunk. Staff was friendly and vibe was cozy. We stopped in just to grab a quick drink and check the place out. We were impressed with the menu and it's choices. Unfortunately we already ate prior to stopping here and we're too full to order anything. Definitely a spot we will return to to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the place..

We've eaten at Jakes for many years, takeout often. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone downhill - I understand there may be good reasons. A takeout order ought to be equivalent to what you get at a table. Roquefort salad was VERY skimpy. Shrimp with salsa verde looked like they just came out of a freezer bag, and very tiny. Online menu had not been updated, so I was disappointed to find their yummy mushroom soup was not available yet. Pizzas looked OK, will eat them later, should be good. Having a drink at the bar while waiting - in many a thriving restaurant the bartender will just pour a generous portion (what the hey, paying so much for it!) and not ask "How many measurements do you want?" (Lovely person, though - very nice.) I got a feeling the owner, for whatever reasons, has come to a "don't care" point. The total bill was kind of shocking, maybe because I dared to ask for variations on the pizzas? Shrimp verde was very very good, the hot sauce just great. But the shrimp should have been bigger.

We just left had an amazing meal! We had a little bit if everything, steak, salad, pasta, calf liver at our table. Appetizers were delicious, drinks were tasty & the "cheap bottle" of wine was really good! Everything hot & fresh. Dessert was yummy ice cream & we had surprise birthday glasses of champagne!! Our server was Desire' was outstanding!! she offered great recommendations & super attentive! She was fantastic & made my birthday dinner very special! (Fellow Leo shout out!!) Restaurant was very pretty, bar was beautiful & the wood burning oven smelled amazing!! Definitely coming back!

On my quest to find a good liver dish with nice wine in Philly, I ventured to Jake's. Upon entering, I was calmed by the dim(ish) lights, warm colored walls, and low music. A relaxed but semi-fancy atmosphere, depending on where you'd sit. The Boudreaux wine we ordered was quite delectable- dry, not too sweet, and a woodsy aftertaste- however, that was the end of my meal's delight. The "calve" (it's calf!) liver I ordered medium was well-done with no pink, and was served atop an apple potato salad you would get made by your aunt that can't cook at a family picnic. I get they were trying to be clever - liver and "caramelized" onions (which had 0 flavor, barely cooked, and caramelized onions are usually my favorite salty topping to ANY savory dish) with apple - but the flavors mixed together sabotaged each other. On their own, each was not too shabby. Additionally, the portobello mushroom soup was nothing to call home about - it reminded me of the Campell's can of cream of mushroom soup your parents would force you to eat as a kid. My boyfriend's slow-cooked pork was the best (and only) amazing item I tried that night- for the prices (30$ for a sub-par liver and the equivalent of one small white potato) I think this place is overrated, and would call this diner quality food (no offense to diners) at a romantic atmosphere restaurant.

Delightful little place with a delightful staff. I can only speak on the wine, but I'd love to return to try some of the food! I popped in around 5 on a Tuesday to kill some time waiting for a friend and ended up having a great time there chitchatting w the bar tender and another random solo person. She let me try a couple wines that they offered by the glass and I had a couple glasses of a lovely white sauv Blanc blend. Great atmosphere and friendly spot -- def want to return! Glad I happened upon it.

The best takeout I've had during quarantine!! I've had these crab cakes several times before and they were just as good as takeout! The crab cakes have lots of crab chunks, are perfectly seasoned and have little filler. They were cooked when we picked up but we had to reheat at home due to travel time. We reheated for about 8 minutes. They came out perfect. The cost is reasonable at $80 for 8 crabcakes, a pack of Martin's potato rolls and a container of remoulade sauce. Take out drinks are also available!!! The white sangria ($10) was good. The strawberry gin drink ($15), sorry I can't find the name of it, was really good! The drinks come in a 16 oz bottle. The server also gave me a cup of ice with mint and basil so I had the full flavor profile. Pick up was quick and easy. The service was excellent!

This long standing restaurant and now wine shop has changed with the times. It went to fine dining table cloth to a more casual place that has the best wine selection over 30 bottles and over 130 bottles for sale that 80 are under $20.00 their summer wine tastings are free and you get additional 10% off a better than fare price. The food is consistent and changing to meet with the times and change of customers that now live in Manayunk. The manager junior always gives a great hello and even remembers my dog Harry's name. The everything bread with maple cayenne butter is like crack. The Roquefort is my favorite with the best dressing I have ever tasted. I get it with the hanger steak. the pork meatballs which are a dumpling recipe with out the wrapper are very flavorful. I love the pizzas because they use high end blend of cheese from northern Italy not your typical type of pizza cheese, The desserts are maid in house including the ice cream. Profiteroles are my favorite with warm puffs and ice cream and wiped cream and warm chocolate sauce that would taste good on anything but sometimes I get the cheese board and a great glass of red that has more choices than anyone around.

The food here is good, however very over priced. Now my husband and I totally agree that you get what you pay for and are completely comfortable paying for good food. The service was good. They are also a wine purchase location. I have a fav wine that I inquired about. And was told it was not on the wall for purchase but could be purchased from the bar for $44. Even the waiter noted it was pretty high because we would be buying it from the bar. I later ordered it on line for $7.99 and at the wine and spirit store for $11.99. This is not a bad place it's great for a date night just note the high prices and yes were are aware it's manayunk as we once lived there and are familiar with the prices in the area.

One of my favorite Main Street spots! Love going here on a date night or with friends. Their pizza and white wine is my go to order, but they have many options for all tastes. Great atmosphere.

Jake's has added bottled wine and charcuterie to go! I stop by today and they had 30 quality wines almost all just around $20 per bottle! How do you beat that? They have also added some DeBruno Bros treats as well! So get an amazing pizza or other great food and a bottle of excellent wine to go.

They always say that a tell of a good place to eat is how full the restaurant is with customers. When you are on Main Street in Manayunk, there are a lot of great restaurants to choose from, but one you will always see packed is Jake's & Cooper's. It has been a while since I have been, but I distinctly remember everything I ordered being good, quality food. For not being in center city - it has that sort of vibe. The menu is a little more sophisticated than other offerings in the 'yunk, and because of that, just be prepared to spend a little bit more (but it is worth it.) They have great options for both vegetarians and meat eaters - I personally am a fan of the crabcakes and their pizza. In the summer they even have seating set up outside, which is always a plus.

Restaurant week was a great introduction to Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar. From the beginning I was pleasantly surprised with parking out front, pleasant service and a excellent dining experience! Entering a warm, inviting, earthy and muted yet rustic tones with a large bar area leading into a visible hearth for pizza making. The menu offers a lot of food and drink options. But it Restaurant Week lets go for that. The homemade mandilli pasta was fabulous the pasta, asparagus and mushrooms were cooked to perfection. We both really enjoyed the filet Bronzini in a butter sauce over asparagus. All of this was quite delicious. Desert options, Lemon Curd with a caramelized topping reminiscent of crème brûlée or the other choice Carrot Cake Cheesecake both were rich in color, texture and boasting the described flavor. The owner or manager visit our table when our meal ended and we had a delightful conversation about our wonderful experience. We were informed of specials during the week, I was very pleased to hear about pasta night each Thursday for $20 you have your choice of homemade pasta and a glass of wine. What a deal. See ya next Thursday!!

Everything that we got was great (I got the Hanger steak and Parmesan fries, along with the Cranberry Mule). The only thing I will say is that there isn't a wide selection because it really seems to be more of a wine bar (what it's known for). Excellent food and drink though!

I've been to Jake's & Cooper's multiple times now as it's less than 10 minutes from my place and has some of the highest quality food . This is a great spot for a date night or night out with friends. They make shareable brick oven pizzas, wines and some other shareable menu items. My first time there I had their spicy meatball pizza, which in my opinion is the best pizza on the menu. I remember saying "this is perfect" before getting in another bite of both meatball, and dough, cheese and sauce. I came back again and brought my sister and we tried some of their other pizzas (their margherita and their pepperoni). We were happydancing while we ate . The pepperoni pizza tasted even better with added parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. We got the chocolate pot de creme for dessert that night and both agreed it was one of the best desserts we've ever had! (Like ever!) My third time I got the basil gnocchi and was disappointed by the smaller serving size, but I do think it was yummy if you're not that hungry and just want something to pick on. Manage your expectations and get the pizzas instead if you're in the mood for a larger dish. We got the everything oven baked bread as a starter and were saddened to experience it as way less than fresh out of the oven. It was clear that the bread was just reheated after sitting out for a while. It was hard to chew on. It's possible that we just got a bad batch but we were excited to try it so this put a little damper on the experience. Got dessert again that night and tried the chocolate cake pudding to change it up and that was fantastic (might have redeemed the bread).

Came here last Sunday for dinner. They have a happy hour drink special. My boyfriend had a beer and I had a mojito. I ordered the Lisa'a pizza and loved it! My boyfriend ordered the short rib pizza and loved it as well. They have live music on Sundays. We will absolutely return for wine and a charcuterie board!

Great food. All the local recommend the food. The bar is busy. They know their wine it seems. Very limited bourbon selection. Overall I hear great for wines

A friend wanted to try this place out while we were visiting in Philly so we went on a Thursday night. We ordered some pizzas and some wine, and both were excellent! The service was really solid, and it was kind of a neat atmosphere. We have not been out in public much during Covid, so we were a little apprehensive at first, but this turned out to be a really good spot for a quick meal. I don't live in Philadelphia, but if I did, I will definitely try this place out again!

Amazing steak dinner,, great whiskey /gin and wine selections, and yummy pot de creme dessert !Our server and bartender were knowledgeable and friendly . Highly recommend this establishment.

We've come here for dinner, apps and happy hour (separately). Great place, always packed and great service. From the charcuterie boards to the coal oven pizza - it's all so dang good. It makes sense why this place has been in manayunk for decades. Will continue to come back!

Friendly service. Delicious food. The Mac and cheese is soooo saucy and not at all clumpy/waxy/dry. We got the mussels- that broth. Goddamn. We sipped it with a spoon once the mussels and bread were gone. This is definitely somewhere for a nicer date night, but it's great to be able to sit at their outside table, sip some wine, and watch the passerby's.

Will not be coming here again. One of the worst waiters I'v experienced. Never came to check if we needed anything and the drinks took forever to come. Yes even water! The food took an hour and half, which was very frustrating because 2/7 of us ordered a salad. One salad (goat cheese I think) was very bad from my dads pint of view. The lettuce was limp and the dressing covered the whole salad. Overall, bad experience will not be coming again. Save yourself the money and time and find another restaurant if your thinking of coming here.

My girlfriends took me out here for my birthday dinner. The service and food were both top notch! I believe our servers name was Gian Carl. He was friendly and beyond helpful for us indecisive guests who wanted almost everything on the menu. Excited for another visit to try more wine!

Really cute wine bar! Great wine, really good Margarita pizza and the Profiteroles were AMAZING!! In town from NoVA and would definitely recommend. Server William was the best, very informative about the menu with too-notch service!

The atmosphere falls somewhere between upscale and family restaurant. The menu reads well but the food was hit or miss. While the rib was good and tender, the side of parsnip gratin was tasteless. The sweet potato gnocchi my daughter ordered was completely unbalanced and astringent with vinegar. As with any decent restaurant worth its salt, there was no salt and pepper on the table bc the food should be properly seasoned when it comes out. The wine was good. The wait staff friendly and attentive. The bill was way too high for the actual dining experience. I'd love to see the food improve bc it would benefit the area and lovely shops.

I live in Manayunk and I have been trying to find a go to place here that my Center City girlfriend would like. On a whim we decided to go here on a Tuesday night to have a glass of wine, we were so impressed by the menu that we decided to share some items. We started with Everything Oven Baked Bread that was served with Maple cayenne butter - this dish was warm, delicious and a great portion size. We had the Beet and Orange salad which had goat cheese and apples in it. Lastly, we shared the pear and mascarpone raviolis which were delicate and full of flavor. After a glass of wine with our food we had a nightcap cocktail that was recommended to us by our servers. We loved the knowledgeable waitstaff, decor and ambiance of this restaurant. This is now our go to spot in Manayunk!

A long overdue review. I've been to Jake's many times over the last few years, and yet, here we are. The food is decent and so are the prices. We're local so we typically go on weekdays after work (it's not super crowded). We decided on a few apps and a bottle of the Cheap White- Overall it was good. The food certainly doesn't knock your socks off, but compared to the other places around they do a nice job. When the weather isn't crazy hot they open the big windows by the bar- opt for a high top over yonder so you can people watch.

This is definitely the best place on *Main Street*. There are better wine bars and restaurants in other parts of Philly but this is the best in Manayunk. I've been here a bunch of times and I keep ordering the same thing because I enjoy it so much. Here are my typical go-to's: Starter: The charcuterie board is great appetizer. Entree: Spicy meatball pizza...this is a MUST. It's my favorite pizza in Manayunk. Dessert: Ice cream taco. It's absolutely delicious. Drinks: They have a decent wine list. I usually go for the Pinot Grigio or Riesling. All food aside, the ambience is also great. It's cozy and classy, great spot for date night. I usually like to sit by the big window when it's nice outside. Service is always good and the food comes out fast.

Came in randomly after strolling Main & had the BEST experience with my server Rachel! I was unsure about what to get and she gave sooo many good recs. I can't believe I stumbled upon this gem! Can't wait to come back again soon. Totally recommend!

I had a great time at Jake & Cooper's! Let me explain: I went with a friend to Jake & Cooper's to get a few drinks and grab a few bites while catching up. The staff was very helpful and gave us the table we asked for. We each started off with a wine flight (I went red, he went white) and enjoyed the perfect weather of that day. The 3 cheese pizza was very yummy, the meatballs were great, and the fries were good enough to eat without any sauce! Anyone in the Manayunk area looking for a quality wine bar or brick oven pizza can look no further! We found them on Yelp, and will certainly be returning.

The food has gone downhill dramatically. The pizza crust is soggy, the steak is bland, and the service is often negligent and leaves you at the table for extended periods without any attention to your needs. There are terrific restaurants up and down Main Street manayunk. This isn't one of them.

Great date night spot. The staff are fabulous and always provide fine dining level service. Almost every person I've interacted with has been supremely well-versed, which is a delight! Every time I sit down I almost immediately order the house made chips. They have some kind of vinegar quality and they are to die for Used to be a 5 for me, and really knocked me off my feet, but since they had a horrible flood and had to close for awhile, it's been a bit.. off. If you know it from before the flood, featured "cheap wines" seem to change less (if at all) and things like the cheese plate seem to have sized down. Aside from this adjustment of my expectation, this place is a win!

I have gone here a few times without writing a review because I felt like I had to give this place a few chances prior to making a final decision on stars and what I had to say. Last night, we came and had the restaurant week courses. $35 a course which in my opinion, isn't so bad. I started with the shrimp and lobster dumplings and when they came out it was not what I expected. You got 3 small dumplings in a small bed of broth. It was like wonton soup... Next up, short rib with lima beans and gnocchi. Yes you read that correctly....lima beans...It was a small piece of short rib surrounded by 4-5 lima beans and then 4-5 gnocchi. I thought this was an odd pairing. The short rib was tender, the gravy on top was flavored well. The lima beans just seemed like they didn't belong. The gnocchi had no flavor and wasn't as fluffy as I would have liked. For dessert, I got the carrot cake. To me, it didn't taste like carrot cake. It was more like a spice cake/bread. It was a bit dense and had chunks of raisins in it. It also sat in a citrus glaze with a bit of cream. So if you are going to come here, expect pricey entrees, pricey wine and good pizza. I do like the overall ambiance of this place as well.

Bruce Junior really makes the restaurant. They were slammed and he remembered our name and made us feel important and that made all the difference for us.

I had COVID-19 and lost some my sense of taste and smell. What better way to retrain than with wine and cheese tasting? As I tasted the red wines I could read about the hints of fruits. The cheeses had there own sublease flavors described on the menu. Perfect.
