We always love coming here. It's not super close to our home but we try to ho for breakfast as much as possible. I absolutely love their chocolate chip pancakes and I ask for strawberries and whipped cream on top. We also often get their special "healthy" eating options (egg whites, veggies, toast and cut up strawberries and bananas). The service is always great, food is always on point and the place is always clean and friendly.

Great place for breakfast /lunch. I used to live nearby and when I'm in town it's a great spot for me since they have gluten-free bagels with breakfast! Had a tasty omelette with home fries but being able to have a gluten-free bagel was a real treat! And it actually tastes like a bagel. Service was good, the restaurant was crowded when we arrived so we had to wait about 10 minutes but it was worth it. The only downside is that the noise level when it's crowded is pretty high.

We’ve been to Jake’s before and loved it. This morning, however, the food was not up to standards. We arrived shortly after 7am, perhaps around 7:20. We were seated and served quickly. My wife got pancakes, I got the bacon & cheddar omelette. The pancakes seemed to be lighter colored than usual, and they turned out to be noticeably undercooked inside, without the nicely done edges you expect from good pancakes. My home fries had zero crispiness on the outside, another characteristic you expect. They were hot, and cooked through, but they were bland and definitely not cooked on the outside. If I had to guess I’d say that the griddle wasn’t hot enough yet, perhaps they started prep too late. For whatever reason, our breakfast was not cooked well. Our server, Dara, was excellent, she was pleasant and attentive and did a good job, and we tipped her appropriately. But the kitchen was not on their A-game this morning. Overall it was a disappointment.

We are out-of-towners that were looking for a good breakfast. Safe to say we definitely found it here! Food was delicious! Grilled cinnamon bun is a must!

Google
Friendly service. We went with a fairly large crowd for lunch. Kind of the quality you'd expect from a breakfast/lunch/dinner place. Fries were nice and crispy! My companion commented on how much real meat was used in the crab cake and how tasty it was. I got the Cajun chicken panini which was good. Everyone was very satisfied.

Google
Tried this spot for the first time, the food was good. The mini waffles has good flavor while everything else is good but nothing extra ordinary. To me, the home fries were really dry like extra dry. Also their coffee tasted like water. Overall super chill spot with basic diner food.

Google
So staff is very rude. Waited for ever for a table and they sat people that came in after me. Then we got served last. Waitress never came and asked us for our drink order. Would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely would not recommend. Place needs a whole face lift. Counters and tables are very sticky

Google
We made the mistake of giving Jake’s Eatery in Newtown another chance after having visited a few years ago... Big mistake. Our table was sticky, there were flies buzzing around, and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Service was slow and inattentive... We ordered omelettes, which came out soaked in grease. One was borderline undercooked, and the other was so greasy my partner couldn’t even finish half. The homefries were mushy, flavorless, and cold. It almost felt like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for hours and still didn’t get warm. From what I remember, Jakes used to be a decent local spot, but it has turned into a dirty, poorly managed mess.

Yelp
This is the kind of food you'd serve to a jaw-dropping one-night stand you met at a smoky dive bar in a city you don't live in after she called you by her dad's name but only once during the heat of the moment. The breakfast food is quite good, but reassuringly unassuming. I would not have taken my ex-wife here, as the food would have provided nothing to talk about, and thus we'd be forced to confront, like soldiers entrenched in the mud, clutching rifles with pale, bony fingers, trembling with fear as bombs decimate their ranks, our problems. It is a nice reminder that even in a place like Newtown, which has more chains than a slave ship, small businesses can thrive. I recommend the Hungry Person: 2 pancakes, 3 eggs, breakfast meat, and potatoes! Yours in Reverence, barry b

Yelp
First time for brunch at this wonderful spot. We had about a 15 minute wait but once we were seated, we were immediately taken care of. We had a choice of breakfast or lunch menus. I had a healthy omelette and others in our party also chose breakfast. Food came out quickly. The waitress offered us refills throughout the meal. I wish they were open for dinner. I would probably visit more often.

David R.

Yelp
We went to Jake's recently for the second time as the first time was good. We were seated quickly and the menu looked good and the pricing fair. Then, at the next table a dad and his 2 teen girls sat down with their family pit bull!! Not a service dog! Just your run of the mill Pitbull. It is understandable to have a service dog to help people with disabilities but absolutely not just because you want to bring your attack animal into a place that serves food. We don't know it's safe or does it have fleas or ???!. Many businesses have signs that specifies that assist animals are welcome but other emotional support or pets are not. I suggest that Jake's purchases and displays that sign or lose my business and others that feel the same way but just don't post it.

Yelp
What a difference a day makes! Horrible service...waitress was miserable and terribly slow. Annoying that she spent 20 minutes talking to the ladies at the table next to us and complained several times to us that they were short staffed. It was more than frustrating bc it was even more pathetic than just what I wrote here. Took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. My eggs were cold, potatoes burnt to the point of not being able to cut or eat them and french toast was dried out. Waitress disappeared at this point and I ate what little I could. She never checked on us. The bus guy refilled our coffee at least. He was good! Usually the owner is visable but he was not around. It was truly was the worst breakfast dining experience I have had. Not sure we will ever go back and it was our "go to" breakfast place. Sigh.

Hope H.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I ate it for the next three meals :-) and of course, my company was fantastic which made the entire experience that much better.

Aimee K.

Yelp
Decent food but not anything exceptional. I had the Jakewich... 2 eggs, cheese and pork roll on an english muffin. The waitress never asked how I wanted my eggs cooked and I assumed that on a breakfast sandwich they would have been scrambled. Unfortunately, they were over easy so, the dripping yolk made it a bit messy to eat. English muffin was a little too well done for my liking. They substituted sweet potato fries for me instead of home fries. They were delish. My friend had the special Pineapple Coconut pancakes. She enjoyed them and said they tasted like piña colada pancakes. Service was good but coffee needed to be offered in regular intervals instead of us trying to get our servers attention. Overall it wasn't bad but we probably wouldn't go back.

Mary L.

Yelp
Been here many times. Food is decent but service is slow. Waitresses love to chat it up.

Jessica F.

Yelp
I would give zero stars if that was possible. Both the daughter and mom waitress combo are rude and intentionally make you wait to order your food. It doesn't matter what day or time you attend they consistently act like they are in the weeds and clearly cannot take a simple order in a normal amount of time and deliver food to the table-This should not be that hard. Not only did I receive bad service AGAIN but the other waitress started yelling at me to another customer while I was an ear shot away from them. Needless to say, I will not be coming back. Breakfast goes beware! Horrible

Gil S.

Yelp
I haven't been here for a few years and was happy to see that the place hasn't change. I like that the prices here are very reasonable, that's very refreshing! The service could be a little faster, the place was packed on a Friday morning and it was hard to get attention from servers but overall no complaints. The food is very traditional. I do wish they use a little more sauce for the Benedicts and also the potatoes that come as a side to many dishes are a little bland for me I wish they would make them crispier and use some spices to bring out flavors.

Gerald S.

Yelp
We just enjoyed a very satisfying Good Friday breakfast at Jake's in Newtown. Plenty to eat, tasty and quite fairly priced. It seems time to revisit the old review and adjust the ranking to 4 stars. I've eaten here often enough to become a fan.

Vin D.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast! Had the typical 2 eggs with bacon potatoes and pork roll and it was delicious! My waitress was also very nice and got my food real quick. Look forward to eating there again!

Mary P.

Yelp
I had an awful experience today. We were Celebrating my friends retirement. The service was wonderful, but there was an issue with my sandwich. I told the waitress she went to speak to the manager and came back stating there was nothing they could do. Manager never came out personally. I asked for she same sandwich my friend ordered, which took forever. My group had already finished eating and when it arrived it did not look the same and still had barely any meat inside which was the initial problem. I never ever complain but when others at the table had overflowing meat, they told me to say something. Not good business practice to ignore and not address an unhappy customer. I will not be going back and will warn my local friends not to either.

Yelp
For the first time since the Covid issue I was treated to Father's Day breakfast from Jake's Eatery in Newtown (take out). I had waffles and sausage - always delicious and a great bang for your buck. Actually it is how good dinner food should be, not this fancy schmamcy breakfast places. I was happy for the treat and can't wait to come back - for good food and service (breakfast, lunch & occasional dinnner).... In Newtown it's gotta be Jake's....

S S.

Yelp
The picture speaks for itself. I was utterly repulsed and shocked that they would allow bare dirty feet in their establishment. We left before we even opened our menus. I will never eat here again

Kevin C.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant - busy on a Sunday morning, however wait time was only about 15 minutes, not bad. Good menu, not too many items but enough of a variety to satisfy most tastes. Great prices (party of 3, we had 3 breakfast omelettes, 2 drinks, with tax $29.10 - average under $10/per person, you barely see that in fast food joints). Our server this morning was Derek and he was terrific, in fact really made the experience worth putting this on YELP. Friendly, efficient, checked on us often, etc., and we really had a good time. We'll be back, not only for the good food, great prices, but if everyone provides the service level Derek did, then we're going to be regulars soon!

Elspeth K.

Yelp
Service terrific. Good v poor and tasteless. I was more alarmed at the cleanliness of the restaurant and toilets. In need of some sparkle. Especially, after covid and recent measures that were mandatory to follow. Soon forgotten here.

Robyn H.

Yelp
I stopped by for a late lunch on a friends recommendation. They serve breakfast until 3 pm. It was 2:55 and I suspected I was too late but to my surprise they let me order! Good start! The place is very clean! It was a slower time for business and each person there was cleaning. Another good sign! I got the hungry person special because well, I was hungry! 3 eggs, hash browns, meat and choice of 2 pancakes or French toast or one of each. I went with scrapple and one of each. Food cane out quick and hot! I'm. Or ally a pancake girl but since I tried both I'll say the French toast was better! The hash browns were perfect! Crispy perfectly seasoned potato chunks. The scrapple was their only down fall. Two small think squares. Good scrapple is always a thick slice that's crispy on the outside. These were thin and crispy which isn't the way most Philly people enjoy scrapple. My waitress was friendly and attentive. She gave me some suggestions to try for my next trip. I love when I get a sincere recommendation so I'll be back to try them!

Yelp
My son and I are weekly regulars at the Newtown location. We came for a late breakfast at 1240 today. We waited until 110 with NO ONE even taking a drunk order. I am more than understanding of the help shortage, but to sit and watch the staff that see you weekly go and take care of everyone else and yes those that came in AFTER us is in my opinion not excusable. We got up and left. We went straight to the Richboro location and we were in and out in half an hour. I think we will have to stick to Richboro unless we want to be ignored as customers. Thanks Jake's Eatery of Newtown. 2 thumbs down

Yelp
Been to the other Jack's eatery and this one is just as good. Well depends on how you look at it... Food is delicious.. I had stuffed French toast. Coffee good. But the service hear is bad. Waited 10 min to get waited on... 5 min for my coffee. And 25 min for my food.. Definitely needs to be more training. No one should have to wait that long. Especially just to be waited on. Jack's is plain Inside with not much on the walls and making like that new type of a restaurant... Bring a jacket... It's cold in hear they have the air on even when the Temps are cold outside. I don't think I would ever come back to this one... Just sticking with richboro Jack's... The atmosphere seems to be much better. And more available parking.

Emily F.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here, and it was amazing, the staff is so nice, we didn't wait king for our food, and it was delicious, only thing i didn't like is there policy that they can not seat you till very one apart of your party is there, me my mother and brother went in well waiting for our friends Nichole and ben who were no more then 5 minutes away but they wouldn't seat us till they arrived. But other then that the place was great. great food, great staff what more could you ask for. definite recommend.

Craig K.

Yelp
Ahh finally slept in and its Sunday Morning 11am by the time I get moving it will be brunch so because I'm spoiled and don't cook, I let my fingers do the walking on Yelp! I find a place that a heard of called Jakes Eatery and off I go. When I arrive the place is comfortably decorated, cozy and clean. My Friend orders Eggs Benedict and I order a Tuna Club sandwich. After about a 15 min. wait with very little tables, the food comes out. The eggs were very good, however my Tuna which was fresh lacked size. The bread was either pushed down or naturally thin and the pieces were small. The French fries were perfectly done for me. Once the meal was completed another 10 minutes go by for the check. All in all the prices were good, $25 for the both of us and the food was satisfactory. Don't know if Ill go back but who knows.

Lucy O.

Yelp
Every time we visit with my daughter in Newtown we go to Jake's. The food is delicious with a great staff too.

Cassandra P.

Yelp
Jake's has a very homestyle feel. It is very clean. Breakfast menu is decent, they have a good options available. They make their potatoes very well. It's very crispy, best breakfast potatoes I have had in a while. Pleasant experience

Molly C.

Yelp
Daniel the sever is always awesome and super friendly. However, the kitchen needs work. I was here with a friend and got eggs Benedict which I get all the time at any breakfast place. The hollandaise sauce was like a yellow brown color. It's supposed to be yellow. Food quality has gone way down hill.

Faith R.

Yelp
Super great food and wonderful staff makes simple lunch out with the girls much more special. Highly recommend a weekly visit.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Solid breakfast place! Quiet little spot - I actually didn't even know it existed. Has the basic breakfast items, great service, and the food was good. I'll go back!

Alex Z.

Yelp
This place was average at best. We got lucky today because of no wait. If there was a wait it would have been 2 stars. My kids got pancakes, they were pretty bland and the syrup is terrible! Watery and not good. Idk if it's cause they are trying to save money or what. I also got eggs Benedict. It's was weird. Hollandaise sauce was very dark and tasted odd. Won't order that again. Probably wont be coming back.

Scott B.

Yelp
Just discovered this restaurant recently and have returned several times already for both the food and service. Daniel, a server, is quite attentive and friendly. The food is prepared quite well and I haven't had a bad meal yet. The prices are also very good.

Melissa W.

Yelp
Love the coziness and warmness I experience here when wanting to sneak off to get a delicious breakfast/brunch with my friends and family in newtown:) the giant, fluffy pancakes are a usual favorite of mine and the huge omelets stuffed with everything good inside-especially yummy gooey cheeses! Will love coming here for years and years to come

Grace K.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by the other day after visiting a nearby park. I ordered the farmer's breakfast, the cornbread muffin was browned and tasty!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and cleaned their plates! Three big meals only cost us around $23!!! I strongly recommend Jake's Eatery to anyone in the area!

Steve D.

Yelp
Terrible service. Slow kitchen. Waited 30 minutes + for oatmeal. Not servers fault just extremely under staffed in kitchen. People all around us are getting frustrated

Jenny K.

Yelp
I was not so impressed with Jake's. I don't know if it's just this location but I was always fond of the one in Richboro. I came for breakfast, got the hungry person and was honestly kind of grossed out by my food. The pancakes were stale and nowhere near warm. The "homefries" looked like cut up boiled potatoes, I didn't eat any of those. The eggs were probably the most normal looking things on my plate. I really think they need to step it up for being one of many few breakfast places in the area, so much potential!

Kathy B.

Yelp
Took my granddaughters to Jakes for a lunch outing. My tuna salad sandwich was lovely fresh and flavorful My younger gd was introduced to banana pancakes , which she enjoyed very much. The Caesar salad was good and we had a good time.

Greg B.

Yelp
Good place for lunch with grandparents. Very good service. Drew was quick and friendly. They serve breakfast all day, I think. I had the urban omelette and it was very good. The hamburgers are great too. Get the french fries as your side. The place is impeccably clean, well lit, and spacious. Highly recommended.

Alessandra M.

Yelp
We decided to give this place a try on Sunday after church. We ordered breakfast I got the Hungry Man and added blueberries to my pancakes. The hash browns were cold, you could tell they just make a huge batch of them and they definitely are not seven fresh. My side of turkey sausage tasted like dog food. Our server was constantly MIA we could not find her. When our food was served we had to make multiple trips to the breakfast bar to get syrup for pancakes, um like shouldn't they be served together being that they go hand in hand. We also had to get hot sauce and napkins from there. We should have tipped ourselves.

Caitlynn B.

Yelp
I come here every Sunday and the service is always great. Portions are pretty big, especially for the price! Inside the place could use a little updating, but that's really the only complaint I have.

Olaf J.

Yelp
Get the Urban Omelet with a side of bacon and rye bread! Great Food & Friendly Service! Probably the only place in a 30 mile radius where we had to wait to be seated because everyone who lives here goes here. Lots of parking in back and service was smooth and quick. We opted to go here with our local friends instead of Cracker Barrel and was happy we did. Sometimes it is better to eat among the locals than in a chain with lots of tourists! Prices were also very reasonable for the amount of food served.

Ray E.

Yelp
The go to place for breakfast in Newtown. Only place around that offers a flavored coffee every morning. Love their egg's Benedict.

Parker G.

Yelp
I love breakfast places and Jake's is the best diner for breakfast. With items like the Hungry Person on the menu, i'm always filled up when i leave. This place is nice small dates or big groups.

Dawn A.

Yelp
Best breakfast hands down! Fresh and delicious. My husband and I have been going to breakfast at Jakes fir over a year and the food is consistently fresh and delicious.

Ira S.

Yelp
Ok, I like this place, it's convenient, have great specials, but they really have one thing that earned them only 3 stars. Their home fries are like mush. Don't know where the cook ever learned how to cook them but on my recent visit they were so discussing after one bite that was it. When the server picked up my plate, I was asked if I didn't like the home fries. That was very observant of the server and was really appreciated by me. When I told her that they were like mush, the server responded that she has told the cook about this but it still hasn't changed. I looked around and at several tables near me the people didn't eat all of their home fries... Maybe the management needs to step in.

Eunice L.

Yelp
There is a line but it moves fairly quickly. The choices of food for brunch is no frill just reliable brunch food. The prices are reasonable and I have no problem with simplicity of the place and food choices.

Jess G.

Yelp
Jake's has a decent, solid breakfast menu. It's not over the top - just diner staples that come in normal sized portions at reasonable prices. I'm used to (and miss) New Jersey diners and ridiculously large portions, but Jake's has the same vibe; it's just scaled-down. The staff is always pleasant and the service is quick. The coffee is just normal coffee at a normal price; I'm over the whole $9 cold-pressed whatever coffee thing at other brunch places.

Steve D.

Yelp
It's astonishing that a busy and popular breakfast place like Jake's does not offer a better selection of adult breakfast cereals, including higher-fiber favorites like shredded wheat and Raisin Bran. Nor does Jake's offer WiFi so that its many single patrons can entertain themselves while they're eating their breakfasts. That said, Jake's does make a damn fine pancake and a decent cup of decaf, but really, how hard is that to do? I wouldn't say that Jake's is "A-OK" as the Yelp rating system defines three stars. I would say it's just "B-OK" and nothing more.

J W.

Yelp
The breakfast menu was not extraordinary, but what they served was very good. The coffee was better than most breakfast restaurants that don't serve premium coffee

Baar N.

Yelp
Had breakfast here, crowded but got a seat right away Had breakfast here, crowded but got a seat right away the reason it is crowded is because the food is great and plentiful. With very reasonable prices. Feed your whole family Derek s was my server at the counter fast and courteous checked back with me often, no rush. You won't be disappointed. Im not related to the owner or anyone who works here. This was my first visit recommended by a local

Michael C.

Yelp
10am Friday a week before Christmas. Packed and a 5 minute wait. Staff was rushing but nice and helpful. Good size menu and fair prices for Newtown. Basic decor - felt homey and comfortable enough. Mostly older crowd, partly given the time, though a few small groups of HS students were spotted. Food arrived fast and portions were spot on; not over the top like some breakfast joints throw at you. Homefries were awesome. OK coffee (Lucas; expected better taste). Very good omelette. Wife enjoyed the large waffle well enough.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Another good spot for breakfast. We have been here a few times. Can't go wrong with breakfast food. They remodeled the place a few years ago and it is very nice.

Exhausted C.

Yelp
I was driving by, looking for restaurants and saw this one. They have a jerk chicken quesadilla with cranberries, bacon, cheese of course, scallions. And the chicken was incredible. It was juicy and perfectly blackened, so all of these flavors came together to result in an unexpectedly great quesadilla.. for $8.00!! Really took me by surprise. Also Rebecca the waitress was kind and very competent. I'll be back again.

ChrisAndTommy G.

Yelp
Great place! Great home cooked style food. Wether for breakfast lunch or dinner they have you covered . nice portions for not too much $ which is rare in Newtown Pa. You can actually take your family out for a meal without remortgaging your home. Today I had three fried eggs three Turkey sausage links homefries and toast all for (including tip) like 9 bucks...totally delicious and filling. The serve prime rib a few nights a week too. I think they allow BYOB at the Newtown location unlike Jake's in Richboro which has a full bar
