Google
Loved this place for breakfast. With very reasonable prices, delicious food, and a good atmosphere, what else do you need to make yourself happy

Diana Needle

Google
Good place for breakfast. Its clean and people are very nice!

Google
Food is good but the woman that answers the phones and works behind the counter on Sunday's is flat out nasty. Not pleasant at all. Even though the food is good, I will not order take out from them anymore just so I don't have to deal with that nasty person.

Google
I needed to order food for a lunch for one of my nursing homes and I googled the best place to order take out and Jake’s Eatery came up highly rated so I thought I’d give it a try. I had everyone choose what they wanted to eat and personalize their sandwich or salad. I ordered eight items and each one was prepared exactly as requested and on time. When I arrived it was 2 large bags and they helped me out to my car! I was appreciative of the help especially since it was raining. It saved me a 2nd trip back in to get the 2nd bag. The team at the luncheon loved the food! They each rated it a 5/5! I will order from them again! My bill was under $100 including tax. 😊

Google
Perfect diner with great service and great traditional and even some great local takes on diner dishes. Always reliable for both. Parking is a little tight at busy times but we’ll worth that little inconvenience.

Stefanie Lachman

Google
Basic breakfast food for a diner. It was nice and cute inside with a choice of bar top seating or regular seating at a table. It wasn't my favorite diner. I rather go to Southampton Diner or the Eagle Diner

Google
Just went for some early evening drinks. It was quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Tried their Buffalo wings... very good! Someone I was chatting with says they do a great breakfast and are busy most mornings. Casual environment with casual prices. Comfortable. I would like to try their breakfasts some day. Will return.

Yelp
Mom had heard from a co-worker that this was a great place for breakfast. When we walked in we were passed by 3 times before we were greeted and sat. There wasn't even a smile or any kind of acknowledgment, we were completely ignored. I understand if it's not your job to be the hostess or host, but you can acknowledge customers and let them know someone will be with them shortly. After being sat we were asked for drink orders by one server and then again while we were actively being served by another server. They just seemed very disorganized. Mom ordered pancakes and eggs and I ordered an egg platter with bacon, home fries and toast. The food took a while to come out, but they were very busy. The food came out hot and as ordered. It was very tasty. About half of my home fries weren't crispy, but that's just my preference. No server came over to make sure everything was ok. There was a point soon after we were served that our server passed by and my mom asked a question but was completely ignored. It wasn't until we were nearly done with our meal that the server asked if my mom wanted more coffee, but that was all. No questions about the food out if we needed anything, just about the coffee. Overall, I'd go back. The food was great and just what I was looking for. If the service had been even slightly better this would have been 5 stars, but with service that poor I just couldn't.

Yelp
Ordered sos on white toast make sure it comes out hot. It came out barely warm so I asked waitress to heat it up which she did. I started eating it the bread was not toasted and was mushy from the hot sos. I ate part of it and when the waitress finally came back to table I told her the problem she said the cooks are experienced and know what they are doing she left to get the owner he came out and asked me what he can do, I was with another couple who were finished there meals, so i asked him to take the charge off the bill, he said i ate half in a nasty tone and when the bill came the $10. Charge was on the bill. For $10. He lost three regular customers never to return.

Yelp
Not crazy about Jakes in Newtown therefore I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the Richboro location as much as I did. Service was right on. Pleasant, friendly and efficient...just what good services is all about. My feta omelette was cooked perfectly and quite good. The restaurant is larger in the inside than what it looks like from the outside. Three rooms with a bar in the 3rd room. Lots of comfortable booths. Looks like it could use some modernizing but still comfy and clean. I think of Jakes as a breakfast restaurant so I was surprised to see a full bar and open till 10pm. For a "breakfast" restaurant I give it 4.5 stars...rounding it up to 5.

Yelp
Had a really good breakfast at Jake's. Their urban omelette is terrific consisting of spinach, roasted red peppers, and provolone. I asked for home fries to be well done which they did and was a good move. Service was excellent. Ambiance can use some updating.

Yelp
Slow service. No eye contact. Takes Awhile to get an order and you get what they give- its their way or the highway.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. We usually come for breakfast, staff is quick and attentive, food is delicious. They have a bar that is open for breakfast which is fun. We've been many times and will be back.

Jeff V.

Yelp
Good is OK. Service is spotty Host/Hostess mildly rude at times. As seems to be the case in many restaurants these days, a (possibly unconscious) disregard, and disrespect regarding service to senior customers regarding seating and timely service etc.

Bridget C.

Yelp
Good food / service and pre pandemic inexpensive pricing that is unusual in a time when everyone is bumping prices .

Yelp
I used to love this little diner! Maybe they had a bad day, but breakfast was not good, the one particular time I decided to take my kids in. Everything was kind of greasy and stale. The server was an absolute sweetheart though :)

Yelp
The original Jake's is here on Bustleton Pike in Richboro, PA. in a small strip center. The dining room/lunch counter is smaller than their house in Newtown, but with the addition of the extended barroom next door, the place feels more interesting. Also MaiTai brunches are always a strong addition. I sat on a spinner and enjoyed the repartee with the ladies in black working the room. Time to chat and work on this rainy Columbus Day. They took turns serving menu, coffee and breakfast. Good teamwork. The java was from a Bunn-O-Matic; hot and strong. The short stack french toast was good, with plenty of egg, vanilla and touch of sugar in the mix saturating to the center of each slice. Caramelized edges always please me, and I was not disappointed. Real maple syrup would have made this an almost perfect plate, but it is hard to offer that liquid amber elixir at these prices. I sat in for a second mug of Joe to postpone walking out into the storm. I didn't mind extending my visit a little longer this wet day.

Yelp
Came here with a friend and couldn't get past the water. It is vile. It tasted like strong mold and we both sipped our water at the same time while having a conversation and simultaneously almost vomited. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she said we weren't the first to mention that. What? The food could have been great and the service good but we just couldn't get past the taste and aftertaste. This is what they cook with and do their dishes with. No thank you.

Theresa F.

Yelp
I am with Jim G. The water is vile. God only knows what's wrong with it. We only get water with our meals wherever we go and I have never tasted worse. There is definitely something wrong. We ate there about two weeks ago and won't be going back.

Yelp
I went to Jake's with my Grandpa for breakfast. This place is great. Food is good. Service is great. We both had the 3 egg breakfast. The breakfast sausage was delicious, and bigger than I expected. I plan to come again. Next time for lunch!

Yelp
Really good breakfast.. Stopped in hear on a early Friday morning!! Had to park at the end of the parking lot because there was no spots out front. the lot was completely full, and you can park in the back as well. Arriving into Jake's. It it was just wall-to-wall people, just completely packed, because I was the only person, I was taken as soon as possible, but there is other people in there waiting, I heard one of the ladies say it was about a half hour to 45 minute wait to be seated,, I've never seen waiters work so much like they do hear.. Got my cup of coffee, looked at the menu, very much to choose from, I got the french toast with strawberries and bananas. When my food came out, I was like where is the strawberries and the bananas, don't you know they put the bananas and strawberries in between each piece of French toast,, which is kind of hidden. Can't see it which is kind of cool,, something I've not seen anywhere else, I enjoyed my breakfast and certainly will be back. just bring your patience with you because you will need it...

Yelp
First time I ate there it was great. second time the Hollandaise was broken. so I thought easy mistake. but the third time I Ordered their eggs Benedict to go, One egg had no yolk and burn to a crisp English muffin. Called and lady hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager.

Yelp
Food was great, atmosphere was great, friendly staff. We were just here this afternoon for lunch, will totally be returning.

Yelp
Don't mind the other reviews... I go here at least 2-3 a month for breakfast and I've never had an issue! Small little breakfast spot and in my opinion the best breakfast in the area. I usually go around 8-9 am and most of the time have Gregg as our waiter. Awesome guy, very friendly, recognizes us every time and even knows our orders as the 'usual' Cheap prices, good pancakes & French toast, awesome staff, and quick service. Will be a life long customer : )

Yelp
Reliably decent breakfasts are served here. Although we typically stop in only when we have other business in the vicinity, the good coffee and service keep Jakes's on our list of breakfast spots. In this tier of breakfast eateries (which includes Robin Hood and Daddy Pops), Jake's coffee is superior. It is a medium roast and the coffee pots are emptied so frequently that a customer never gets a cup of old, stale joe. The coffee, however, does not favorably compare to that served at Honey's, Green Eggs or Cross Keys. It is a sad reality that few local breakfast eateries serve great coffee. Jake's regular menu, by and large, offers standard breakfast fare, with few unusual or imaginative options. Today I tried the Telluride omelet (my first order from the reverse side of the breakfast menu), and I was pleasantly surprised. This cheese-less omelet was fluffy, chock full of vegetables, gently browned around the edges and served piping hot. It was too large for me and about 1/3 of it went to Mr. M. Unlike Jake's other omelets, the Telluride was accompanied by freshly cut melon instead of potatoes. We note that Jake's most exotic offerings, which change daily, are posted on a white board near the door. Today's specials included an Andouille omelet and Almond Joy pancakes.

Yelp
We always have such a wonderful experience at Jake's in Richboro. The servers are fantastic , the portions are generous and we love everting we get. It's the best grilled cheese ever!!! And the price is less than any other establishment. The soups and salads are wonderful as well as the hot turkey. If you hadn't tried them please enjoy this pleasant eatery. Aimee Oppenheimer

Yelp
Yech! Want salt? They got it! First the salad came out with rotten lettuce with the dark spots. The waitress brought another. Same thing. A little argumentative. When the chicken marsala finally came out I guess my request to not add extra salt was understood to mean pour on as much salt as possible. Late, so forced myself to eat that but couldn't force myself to eat the broccoli which tasted like rubber and earth. Some machine provided a nice rattly compressor noise. I paid my bill -- my ticket to freedom -- I got out of there!

Whitney W.

Yelp
Had my first experience here with my client! Vicky was a pleasure to have as a server! She was very friendly and courteous with my client and it was really amaizng! Definitely will be back with my family and friends!

Rob F.

Yelp
Staff was rude and inattentive. We sat for at least 25 minutes before anyone came up to us for drinks. Staff verbally argued with another table who was reasonably upset with terrible service. Then we waited right around an hour for our food while our section of the dining room was empty. This used to be one of our staple places but will never be going back.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend who suggested we have lunch there. I had an omelet and hash browns which were very good. Can't comment on any other menu items, but since there is a complete lack of "diner" type options in this area, I would recommend it for breakfast. They were very busy, but service was good.
google avatar

Yelp
Comfortable, cozy, bright and cheery; friendly, good service, well prepared food. Convenient location. Adequate parking. Hangs in there among a number of excellent breakfast and lunch place in Richboro/Ivyland/Warminster area.

Yelp
Went to Jake's in Richboro for lunch to and it was actually nice to get an omelet even in the afternoon. The service was friendly and our waitress very polite and attentive. I enjoy both Jake's establishments; Richboro & Newtown; and yes have had lunch there also. So if you are looking for somewhere to eat that of time breakfast or a great burger for lunch, pop into Jake's - Richboro or Newtown and enjoy your meal.

Yelp
I had dinner tonight and ordered the steak dinner. When it came out there was A LOT of fat in it. I never encountered steak anywhere like this. Another time I ordered a hamburger. It was very mediocre and overpriced. I guess I don't obligated to come here anymore. Truly disappointed.

Yelp
Been coming here for years and it is a classic Richboro staple. The eggs benedict is my go-to and it's top notch. The staff is friendly, the environment is wonderful - all in all, you can't go wrong at Jake's.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Today was my first time here. I went to the Richboro location with my husband. The Food was awesome and fresh. The waitress which I knew her name but on my receipt it says server # 1854 was phenomenal! She was very personable and fun to talk to. The owner came up to us at the end and asked us about our visit which I thought was a nice touch. We will definitely be back again.
google avatar

Daniel T.

Yelp
The food was ok but it made my girlfriend, her grandma, and me feel sick afterwards. Not the best quality. However the servers were very friendly.
google avatar

Ed M.

Yelp
One of the absolute best places around to get breakfast. Have been here many times and the meals have always been out fast, hot and are delicious. There are a lot of so called " diners" in the area and they are fine if you need something to eat at 2 AM. But the food here at Jake's has always been top notch and fresh. Who doesn't like a great omelette and a smooth cup of coffee? Never had a bad experience here.
google avatar

Jackson R.

Yelp
This restaurant comes off as a your normal local pub, but the quality of the food and service was less than onpar with dinners around the area. The Cesar Salad was drenched in dressing, however, the dressing was nearly flavorless. The bun for my cheeseburger was soggy and felt greasy. The only food that was good were my sweet potato fries. Overall, I do not recommend

Laura P.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely brunch here today with friends. It's the place in Richboro where everyone knows your name. I love coming here. The waitresses are always friendly and know my favorites. The food is always fresh and delicious. You have to try the flavored coffee and muffin of the day.
google avatar

Linus F.

Yelp
I typically go here for breakfast as lunch is not their best option (Hence the 4 star and not 5). Staff is always kind. Breakfast food is perfect. Waits can be long depending on when you show up.

Colleen J.

Yelp
The crab Mac and cheese is my favorite! Always satisfied! The family style meals are a lifesaver.

Yelp
I went here this summer with a friend for breakfast. Years ago this was called Flap Jake's and was a good place for breakfast or lunch. They used to close after lunch. They now offer dinner also. Disappointed! It was very expensive for eggs.We had very bad service and I would like to know how a cook can mess up an order of eggs and fruit but alas they did.The tiny bowl of fruit they served us contained under ripened melon and bits of rind that I would have thrown out.The eggs had raw green pepper that was still crunchy. The waiter never came back to check on us period. We came back to my house and I made us food. and a pot of coffee. I'm not going back there again to a tiny hole in a busy strip plaza that you risk your life backing up in. I will drive a little farther to Ben and Irv's and even use my coupon and get something decent. Too bad because this place is close to home ! I wanted to write an update. The owner of Jakes Eatery took the time to write me in response to my review. So this owner does care and invited me to meet him and to always bring any problems to his attention. He hoped I would give his restaurant another chance.I will post an update if I go back.

Yelp
Jakes has been my go to breakfast, lunch and dinner place for years. Always a great meal and a friendly staff that knows your name and what you like to eat. The pub only makes it that much better. Fred

Yelp
Every time I've come to Jake's it's been for a hungover breakfast but for the first time last week, I came for dinner. I got the french onion soup and grilled cheese with bacon. The french onion soup was soOoOo good! Which was why I gave it 4 stars. The grilled cheese was great too but I'm mostly impressed with the soup. Jake's is always fairly priced, I will definitely be back for a simple weeknight dinner
google avatar

Yelp
I usually go to their Newtown location. Breakfast all day - I love it! All the 'Benedicts' are absolutely great. I always order extra sauce. The Crabmeat Benedict is genius - don't miss it!

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night with my family. There was 8 of us. When I told the host how many were in my party he looked as if his head was about to explode.. it was quite comical. The waitress was very nice but clearly very over whelmed. She was the only waitress for all the tables in the one side of the restaurant including our large party. Our apps came and we had no plates, we had to stare at the apps on the table for 10 mins before we flagged down the bus boy for plates. our meals were supposed to come with soup/salad.. but they never came. The food was overall mediocre, prime rib special was pretty tough. Only plus was that they had an acoustic guy playing some good music.

Yelp
Had a gift card so gave Richboro a try. Happened on weekday happy hour 5-6:30. Prices for happy hour are great. Beer was a large draft, apps pizza, wings and cheese steaks egg rolls were good. Definitely will be back. Fast and very friendly waitress and bartender.
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
The food and prices are good. We have eaten here a few times and the service is horrible. This morning we walked out after sitting at our table for about 5 minutes without seeing 1 server. We will not be back!

Yelp
Slow. I'm still waiting for the scrambled egg I ordered at the end of my breakfast. Slow is the best explanation for this place. The food is def good and staff is nice, but running around this busy, understaffed, cramped restaurant. We added one order of a scrambled egg w pork roll at the end of breakfast and it added about 20 mins to leaving after we paid the bill. Kitchen was slammed. They could have had our table of 9 out of here over 20 minutes ago and seated these other poor souls standing at the door near the cold air rushing in. Food is good. Nice menu. My kids really loved the pancakes. I loved my omelet - - the "Urban Omelet" and the egg white "Telluride Omelet" were excellent. Staff is overworked. Wait takes forever (I guess unless it's empty). Maybe come alone, sit at the bar (they have a nice small breakfast bar). My pork roll was great on the way out so that made me happy!! I was hoping to get in and out much quicker.
google avatar

Justin B.

Yelp
Rally poor experience. I always support local business over chain restaurants. I have driven my here for four years on my way to work and have always wanted to stop in. We went on a Saturday at 1pm. We were seated quickly and saw they were still doing breakfast and got excited. We had our twin boys with us so we ordered theirs first and the out or order in. The food took forever and when it finally did come out it was horrible. The kids burger we ordered was rare. Do you even have to tell them well done? Apparently you did. When we sent it back, "oh, did you want this well done?". Are you kidding me. Our food was mediocre at best. Everything was out of a box and nothing seemed to have any love. The waitstaff was bad and very confused. The manager and a waiter got into it right next to us about table assignments. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Jake's serves up terrific breakfast, lunch, and, dinner. Gets busy on weekends during breakfast. They make simple food taste good.

Yelp
I see mixed reviews for Jake's, and truth be told, I have never come to Jake's for anything but breakfast. It seems like the mixed reviews come from people who are going for lunch or dinner. While they do have a full bar and plenty of seating for lunch/dinner, I try to judge restaurants based on what I know they do well - which is breakfast in this case. Jake's is a diner at heart, and if you don't go to a diner to order an omelette, you're likely doing it wrong. That said, Jake's excels when it comes to omelettes. I prefer to build my own omelette, and I always get the same one, which is as follows: egg whites, broccoli, spinach, onions, sausage and cheddar. Extra onions on the potatoes and the potatoes well-done. What I love is that you tell them extra onions on the potatoes and they load it up with onions like you wouldn't imagine. I'll have to add a picture of what that looks like. I have yet to order this and not love it, and I've definitely gotten this omelette 30+ times. My sisters and family agree this is the spot for omelettes (breakfast is our favorite meal), and I'm really thankful this is so close to home. The owner, Steve, is very nice, the staff are all very nice, and my only gripe is they stop making omelettes at 1pm. Long live Jake's!

Nikki G.

Yelp
Servers seemed a little rushed but besides that the food was great and came out pretty quickly! Would come back!

Jenna R.

Yelp
I'm so upset with the service first we had a hard time even getting in the door because they cared more about open mic night with horrible music then we sat waited for our meals and only some came out while others waited for 10mins then we needed the checks split and we were told that we can't so while wait for her to check us out we sat over 45 mins waiting to leave this was the worse service I have ever had and I'm not from the area the staff was on there phones in front of customers and I find it to be very unprofessional

Ketchup Love R.

Yelp
Jake's is our breakfast spot. Yes it can get crowded and yes parking kind of sucks. But it's all worth it. I love the family vibe of the place. The waiter (the morning guy, we always have the same one) is awesome and the food is fantastic. My favorite place for an omelette and home froesEven takeout is good, which is saying a lot because most of the time breakfast takeout is terrible by the time you get it home. We are so lucky to have a place like this so close by.

Kim L.

Yelp
We go here on a regular basis. It is usually good for breakfast. Today not so much. My husband got chipped beef on toast and it had a hair in it!!! What was the bigger disappointment was when we brought to the attention of the waitress she was very dissmissive about it. She said it's not a hair that was egg and none here has that color hair.I know what a hair with chipped beef sauce on it looks like. Very disappointed.
