Delicious ice cream with generous portions and large selection of flavours. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed Dubai chocolate and mint flavoured ice cream!

We visit Jake’s at least once a week, if not more! So I thought, who better to put a cake together for my son’s 1st birthday. I gave very little specifics but they went above and beyond what I was thinking was possible. Golf themed, so creative and oh so delicious!

Wonderful with most employees being handicapped. We even invited them about twice a year to come to our church and service ice cream. It is a wonderful support for handicapped people with a totally friendly atmosphere. You can even order custom made batches of specialty ice cream. I first ordered licorice, which was made to my desire and have ordered more, plus other flavors. They typically make a large batch with half for you and sell the rest in the store. Thus you can commonly find non-normal flavors from other people's orders. It is always fun. Their normal flavors are always there.

What a nice ice cream shop. The people working in there are wonderful and passionate about their work. I had a brownie sundae and it was over-the-top awesome. They have some very unique flavors and everything was fresh, sweet and made to perfection. I'll be telling all my friends about Jake's 🍨☮️

Great Experience!! Came in last night a few minutes past the time Jake's closes ( Around 8:10) and instead of turning me and my children away they let us in and stayed open to serve us. The two of them were amazing, they were kind and patient, we did not feel rushed at all. If this is their usual service then we will be back more often

Lots of different flavors of delicious, creamy ice cream. My friend got one scoop of Coffee ($5). I got two scoops of Margarita and Mango ($7). A real treat.

We have been faithful Jake's customers since opening. Yummy icecream and the staff is always friendly. I love that this business supports and employs individuals with "other" abilities and that my kids get to interact with them! The greeter at the door is especially the kindest and lets us know all the new flavors. My son loves the lavender honey! We buy it in quarts lol! We absolutely LOVE Jake's.

What a gem! We love Jake's Ice Cream. They make all of their ice cream in-house, they have the classics plus some creative flavors like honeydew, teaberry, Vietnamese iced coffee and Biscoff cookie butter. The unique flavors are always changing so it's fun to see what is next- they list current flavors are on their website. The waffles cones are homemade (!) and the ice cream is always delicious. The business promotes hiring differently-abled adults and the employees are helpful and seem genuinely happy to work there. This is our go-to ice cream shop in the area.

Came in just to look but was easily swayed. Loved the seasonal decorations. Got a single scoop of pralines and cream in a waffle cone. Service was perfect and attentive. The ice cream was very creamy and had lots of goodness. Will return!!

Fantastic experience at Jake's ice cream for my first visit. It's my boyfriend's birthday and he loves ice cream and milkshakes so we thought we'd try somewhere new. They have tons of classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate as well as some seasonal flavors. I opted for the orange vanilla dream milkshake (all milkshakes are 16os) and he had a Reese's milkshakes. Both were made incredibly creamy and smooth! Milkshakes are served with large bore straws which prevent that headache from sucky the life out of a tiny straw just to get a smidge out of it! Staff were very friendly. They have some seating available outside too.

Love this place. What a great idea to hire people of all abilities. This is close to heart, and every time, I see people whom are empowered. That alone is reason to celebrate. Always enjoy how friendly everyone is, and this is a must visit place. Thank you to all, as a wonderful smile even now. How's the ice cream? Delicious! All flavors tried so far, have been fresh and make the taste buds dance. You can get a cup or cone. This is among my favorite ice cream shops in the DC area. Comfortable seats and wonderful ambiance. That works for this man, and plenty of others. Thank you to this place, and all of the employees here!

High quality, innovative, and made with love are the ingredients of Jake's ice creams. We are so thankful that they are just the stones throw away from our neighborhood. I might be biased by their extremely delicious ice cream already, however I love that Jake also supports awareness to a good cause of our differently able neighbors and friends. Jake is highly visible in our neighborhood supporting many of the local schools and the community. Even with a gigantic line on hot summer evenings, they managed to move through it with ease, excellent service and smiles. There are some countertop seating in doors and chairs tables outside. If that is all filled up, I have no issues enjoying spoonfuls of their creamy and delicious ice cream in my car. Totally worth the sticky steering wheel. Pro tip: they have gluten-free options. get the ice cream flight if you are indecisive. They update their seasonal flavors on Instagram and Facebook. Also, don't forget their pre-packed pints in the fridge next to the cash register to take home with you.

The BEST ice cream shop!!!! We come here often and the flavors are ever-changing. We love to try all the unique ones. Service is prompt and efficient. We love the outdoor seating, as well. Make sure you stop in and check this place out!

Great cause and great ice cream. The rocky road and heath bar were particularly good, but still plenty of new flavors to try. A family favorite. I highly recommend.

This ice cream was so good! I had an honey lavender cone. The staff was nice. And they had pretty decent seating.

Icecream cake from Jake's! They let you pick two flavors, cake type, a crunchy, color, etc. Very personalized. I wish the cake layer was larger, I prefer 50/50 cake and icecream. But I'm sure if I had specified this they would have tried to accommodate. The icecream was yummy! Cake layer was good. Would try again and see if they can adjust the ratio to my preference.

One of the best ice cream I ever had. The flavors were so unique, dark chocolate cherry pistachio...wow! Pineapple Guava..just wow! Even a red wine ice cream with no alcohol. The prices are amazing and quality is top notch. So sad that's it's 30 min away from me. Have to find ways to go to this ice cream shop.

Wow! First time ever going to Jake's Ice Cream and it was an amazing experience. First off the location is perfect off of Braddock RD and I have to say it was a last minute thing my wife asked to go to the ice cream shop before heading home. I am glad we did! The staff was super friendly and patient with us and once we made our choices we got a LOT of ice cream we definitely got our moneys worth! This place has nice seating outside to enjoy your ice cream and to talk and we really loved checking this place out! We definitely will be back, we have found a great ice cream shop near our house! Oh their pralines and cream and their waffle cone is just delicious!

Great variety of flavors, friendly staff, BIG portions and lots of parking. There are a few tables, but most people just stand around and eat their ice cream.

I love Jake's. I don't have a massive sweet tooth, so I always just get the kids cone, which is a small single scoop. Chocolate is my go to and is always a hit. Friendly staff and always busy, for good reason.

This is the best and most interesting ice cream parlor we have ever tried. The quality and sheer creativity of new flavors and combinations is astonishing. On top of this, Jake's performs a public and social service to the community by employing challenged youths , training them in useful customer service skills. I hope that more people know about it.

Jake's has really upped their game. The ice cream flavors are delicious! And the variety rivals the big commercial chain places-looking at you, Baskin-Robbins. Their ice cream is wonderfully creamy. Add to this the helpfulness of the staff and the mission of the business and there's no better reason to go anywhere else for ice cream.

Jake's is awesome! The ice cream is delicious and the service is great. My mom and I only got plain ice cream in cups, but they have a number of options including sundaes and cones. The best part about this place is that your purchase helps to support persons with disabilities. Go to Jake's!

The honey lavender ice cream here was delicious. There was barely any left and I'm glad I was able to get the last bit of it before they ran out! The honey and lavender flavors were both prominent - no flavor dominated the other and it really was the perfect balance. Additionally, it wasn't too sweet (most other ice cream shops that sell this flavor tend to make it sickly sweet, imo) so it made me love it more. I also love the purple color of the ice cream, too! A kid scoop is only $3, so it's quite cheap for a small scoop of quality ice cream. My friends also really enjoyed the "coffee" and "peanut butter fudge" flavors!

Update 7/10/23: The ice cream is still amazing at Jake's. The awesome team crafted a delicious dark chocolate and peanut butter cup decorated waffle cone for me and I loved it. Thanks again!

Oh their new thin mint crunch and strawberry with little Debbie cakes are amazing new flavors. Because. Sunday!!!

The service is amazing! Everyone is very friendly- and they let us try samples before ordering . The scoops looked generous but the flavors were so great we opted to buy pints- which were $7 each. There's also the option to get two flavors in one pint. We ordered the Bride of Frankenstein flavor (which is vanilla with fudge ripple and bits of vanilla oreos), Cookies and cream, Blackberry, and dairy free chocolate. The dairy free options are coconut based. Which are equally delicious!!! Other products they offer here include ice cream pies, ice cream cakes, cake pops, and truffle bombs! Love the mission of this ice cream business and want to spread the love and support !

They close too early. I wished on the weekends they would stay open later. Their non dairy ice cream is pretty good- limited

This was the first time I had been here and I would gladly come back! The ice cream was sooo good! Probably some of the best I've had in a while. They had a good selection of flavors, but not so many that it was overwhelming. They had vegan flavors on the menu, too and lots of toppings and cones to choose from. You can order inside or order outside at the window on the side of the building. When going inside, you still need to wear a mask whether you're vaccinated or not, so just be aware of that. They have a good amount of outdoor seating, though. It's located in a plaza with other things around, too, so it's in a convenient location. I got a kiddie vanilla dish of ice cream. They weren't joking with the kiddie size, but it was just right. I didn't feel ripped off at all. I would definitely recommend coming here!

All the workers are so nice! The ice cream swirl with m&ms and brownie was so yummy !! Nice treat after eating in the plaza area !

I ordered an ice cream cake for my son's birthday, and it turned out so cute...and delicious! My son loves anything ocean-themed, and Jake's Ice Cream created a cake that made his birthday super special. The cake was made with lemon and pineapple ice cream, and everybody loved the flavors! This was catered for my work. I have to say I don't think I've had a honey flavored ice cream before and this was absolutely delicious. Ice cream is very creamy and had a great consistency. Would recommend for a works sweet treat.

Wonderful range of flavors that change regularly. Ice Cream is rich, fresh and full of flavor. Staff are friendly and efficient. Jake's employs folks who are differently abled, accompanied by monitors to ensure service runs smoothly. I love that I can get something delicious and help people who get to work in a supportive environment. For a real treat check out their cones.

As soon as you enter you are greeted with warmth of the people working there. They were very helpful in terms of directing me to the right ice cream and answered my questions about non-dairy needs. Non-dairy is coconut based and soooo good. Also, I love the mission and really appreciate the quality of service.

Service was really good! But I thought the ice cream was just ok compared to other ice cream places I've had before. Some of the Ice cream flavors I tried in their flight: dark chocolate, cherry Frankenstein Rice Krispy during Halloween time was really cute but the icing was way too sweet!

Excellent service and delicious ice cream! I loved that you could get an ice cream flight and try more of their delicious flavors. My favorite was the key lime, it was a bit tart and not overly sweet, a perfect balance! I also enjoyed their seating area-they had 2 tables with chairs right outside their door and some cute rocking chairs for you to enjoy your treats in. Plenty of parking as well

Love this shop! I got a combo of bananas foster, key lime cheesecake, cookie dough, and cookies and cream flavor. The people in this shop are so nice! I also like the aesthetic. They sell merchandise as well as ice cream. I'm tempted to buy a t-shirt next time I'm in. I'll bring my family! I don't usually go out for ice cream, but for this I would come back.

Highly recommend their ice cream cake. You can customize the ice cream flavors, middle crunch layer, and cake layer. We also gave minimal direction for decoration and they did a great job. Thank you!

Yummm their ice cream is GOOD! Upon arrival I was greeted by the friendliest staff! It is such a happy shop and positive environment. I went with the ice cream flight, and was thoroughly pleased with all flavors (listed on photo) and I think my favorite was cookies and cream! So flavorful! Their customer service was kind, accommodating , and quick. Their ice cream is creamy, flavorful, and delicious! Highly recommend and look forward to my next trip back!

The perfect ice cream consistency. We each got a cone and a single scoop. The kids loved it and employees were so friendly. The cashier came out and checked on the customers. So happy to support a local business.

Terrible service. Immediately once I entered, all the staff were rude and said no dogs are allowed. Though, my dog is a serviced dog, ESA certified to be exact. Right when I was about to pull out her Service card, they said no ESA either. If that was the case, please put a sign outside. Rude establishment and to be exact, the tall guy in the front. I was going to give it a try but after today, I will tell all my family and friends to not go here.

We finally got to try Jake's! Very clean and nice to have a place to sit outside. Lots of flavors to choose from, very creamy. All the staff we encountered were very nice and friendly. It's a nice ice cream shop!

I adore this place! Their vegan chocolate has a hint of coconut, and we always get at least one scoop. Vegan strawberry is the best strawberry icecream I've ever had, hands down. The vegan vanilla is always available too, but I personally found it to be too sweet. There's usually a fourth rotating/seasonal vegan flavor too. I've tried lime, lemongrass, mango, pink lemonade, and rosé. They have also offered ginger and pineapple/piña colada, but I think that was before I started going here. They plan to continue experimenting too! While I haven't tried the dairy flavors (and they have a ton of them) they always look amazing, and they often have some very intriguing ones. They have items besides icecream too. My daughter loved her giant hot cocoa bomb -- hers was dark chocolate and they had several other flavors. I haven't tried their cake pops or other cake or cookie items because I'm gluten free, but I was told you can get GF versions if you place a special order. They look amazing so I hope to try them sometime. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are pretty standard for the area (about $5/scoop). You can feel extra good about buying from them because they employ people with special needs. They accept credit cards for purchases over $10 but bring cash if you can and cut out the banks and their fees!

Ice cream was good, great flavor variety, but the service and employees make this establishment 5-stars. Rather than feeling bad about the calories you're eating, you get to feel good about seeing and supporting differently-abled young adults gainfully employed and working toward independence. As a mom of two kids on the spectrum, this is what I want to see all over the country. Yes, more please!!

The ice cream was nothing special and a little overpriced. I got the Heath bar ice cream and the candy pieces tasted stale. However, they have a great mission.

Love this shop!!!! I love pistachio ice cream and it's so hard to find in the Nova area! This flavor is full of pistachios, creamy and absolutely delicious! My husband is adventurous and has tried so many flavors and all of the flavors were outstanding! All of the ice cream is handmade and collectibles from a variety of old recipes from the olden days. They don't skimp on the ingredients, the staff is friendly and it is definitely a place to take the grandkids, your out of town friends and yourselves for a weekly treat, date night or just any old time. This business supports the handicapped so cruise on over! You'll be hooked!

It's a good neighborhood spot for ice cream, the kids really like it. They support a lot of employees with disabilities which is also really cool. It can get a bit packed, but clears pretty quick. Wish they had more seating as well.

Really wanted to love this place but all 3 ice creams we got were completely gritty/grainy and my family and I could only take a couple bites. Also the pecans in the praline ice cream tasted bad/slimy, almost a chemical taste to them? Maybe just an off day but not worth it for us :/

Staff were really nice - gave us tastings of whatever we wanted to try and were pleasant (I've been to places where they are really stingy with tastings or the staff are annoyed by it). I got a black walnut ice cream and it was good - not as sweet which is nice for adults. It's a little shop I always drive by and this was my first time going in - will happily go again when I want some ice cream.
