Yummy and Worth the Visit! We stopped in on a Friday before heading to the farmers market, and I’m so glad we did! From start to finish, everything about our visit was top-notch. The service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. When we mentioned we were sharing a burger, they even split it for us without hesitation. Our food came out hot and fresh, and the burgers were cooked perfectly to the temperatures we requested. Plus, the beer was ice-cold, making for the perfect pairing. The restaurant itself is modern and well-maintained, with a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Even the bathrooms were spotless, which is always a good sign! Prices were very reasonable for the quality, and the entire experience felt like a great value. Parking can be a little tight, but trust me, it’s worth it. Definitely a great spot for a delicious meal and a good time!

This is our favorite place for BBQ! The Baby Back Ribs are "fall-off-the-bone" tender and delicious! The Moster Rib Combo is my favorite, but you really have to have a good appetite! (or take for home leftovers) It's 3 kinds of ribs and absolutely delicious. Also, I love their cornbread blueberry muffins! So unique! If you have room for dessert, have the Ghirardelli Triple Fudge Brownie! If you're not already a fan, give Jake's a try... you won't be disappointed!

Google
Wow ordered the full size beef ribs with double salad sides and Wow just amazing!!! So big and meaty. 7 bones. I will be back. Took three bones home. Could not finish. Next time no sauce as I’m Keto. But very very tasty!

The atmosphere is chilled, along with the service. Lunch time is busy, so come prepared to stay a bit longer. Food is delicious

We had tri tip sandwiches. Excellent. The onion rings were soggy. We got the order to go. Will be back. Family friendly and family run. Good place. Previously had the spare ribs. Good dry rub and nice nice smoke ring.

8 pm Friday night. Beef ribs were good and unique. Babyback rack was dried as someone had mentioned; perhaps it was the end of the night (but that shouldn't be the excuse). Waitress just disappeared once she served the food, and not even come for the check. Would I come back? Unlikely. Perhaps the standard is low in this area; and this place give me good reason to try other surrounding restaurants.

It's always a blast to come here for breakfast or lunch. And the food is always top shelf.

Had the ribeye steak and eggs. The temperature of the meat and my eggs over medium were spot on! The steak was juicy and perfect. The portions here are huge and worth the price you pay. If you come, get ready to eat.

Yelp
Visitation Rights: 1 Background On Visit: Two months ago, we decided to patronize the shop to support the owner. He lost his house in the Altadena Fire. Credit Cards: They're accepted Restrooms: Restrooms are available to use. Location/Parking: Closest major cross streets are South Myrtle Ave. and E. Olive Ave.. Parking can be found in the residential area, nearby public parking lots, or along Myrtle Ave.. Ambiance/Decor: Had this homey feeling and pretty neat decor along the walls. Service: Service was good and food came out fast. Jump Start Of Choice: 1) Bowl Of Chili And Corn Muffins: The chili was simple, but delicious. The corn muffins were a little dry. BBQ Combo Of Choice: 1) Phat Mike's Delight: 1/2 smoked chicken, Tri-Tip, 1 BBQ pork rib, 1 BBQ beef rib, 1 hot link sausage. Enjoyed the combo a lot. It had a little bit of almost every meat offering. The hot link was a bit spicy for so didn't really enjoy it much. The combo also included two sides. Got the mac and cheese (a bit overcooked and kinda bland) and potato salad (decent. You can taste the sourness). Jakes Roadhouse For Thought: Don't mind coming back.

Yelp
This is the first restaurant I've ever tried at Monrovia so it holds a special place in my heart. The aesthetics has Diners Drive Ins And Dives written all over it but still has a level of at home, cozy feels like getting bear hugged by your great aunt. For anyone on keto, they have a ton of delicious omelet options amongst other traditional American favorites. One of their specialties are their lemon raspberry pancakes which are awesome because they're not too sweet. Dining outside is also available if you want to bring your dog to chill with you as you eat your meal. Parking is pretty easy in Old Town Monrovia, ton of street parking but may be harder on Friday nights since that's when the street fair is.

David M.

Yelp
Don't forget this place the problem is I love this omelette so much it's hard to try other things.... The eggs are fresh and fluffy not skimpy on the meat or cheese. To me it's a perfect combination the portions are on the bigger side so I always leave with half my food.. you have options potatoes or fruit and as you can see the fruit is always fresh and ripe. Toast or pancake I take the lemon raspberry pancake a hint of lemon with a dollop of raspberry butter yummy... the sweet of the powder sugar it good just like that but wait you can add the raspberry syrup and it elevates it to the next level. Oh and the house chili you have to put it on your eggs not to spicy but the flavor mixed with the eggs yum yum. Potatoes are spot on you can't go wrong with hash browns or potatoes both really good and seasoned well. Again add that chili for extra flavor.... Everyone who works here are super nice. And for a little bit of conversation look around the walls have all kinds a memorabilia. It's a fun place to see all the old stuff.. extra parking in the back.

Yelp
Restaurant was nice and clean. came to support. Server was good and refilled our beverages multiple times. The sausage link was tasty and not too hot, the bbq chicken was delicious and moist. The spare rib was good, the beef rib was alright not too much meat on it though. Tri tip was good but not super tender. Came with 2 sides and a blueberry corn muffin. Come with an appetite it was enough food for 2/3 people to share

Yelp
Jake's Roadhouse is a BBQ gem nestled in Old Town Monrovia. You might recognize them for their freshly popped kettle corn at the Monrovia Street Fair & Market on Fridays, but their restaurant offers so much more. While there's street parking nearby, I prefer to park in one of the lots on Colorado Blvd. The decor at Jake's is memorable and cozy, with lots of wood and brick elements. The walls are adorned with road signs and neon lights. The restaurant itself is spacious, with plenty of tables to accommodate groups. I decided to try Jake's dinners, which come with two sides and a corn muffin. Here's what I ordered: 1) Tri-Tip ($26.45): This dish featured a decent portion of thinly sliced tri-tip, with nice grill marks and a deep smoky flavor from the BBQ sauce. 2) Pulled-Pork ($19.95): The pulled pork was incredibly tender and smothered in their homemade BBQ sauce. The sauce was a perfect balance of smoky, tangy, and sweet, making each bite delicious. 3) Sides: If you're ordering the dinners, I highly recommend the baked beans and baked potatoes. They paired perfectly with the BBQ meats. The mac & cheese was decent but didn't taste "cheesy" and was a bit overcooked. The coleslaw was a nice, refreshing vegetable side. The corn muffin on its own was a bit bland, but it complemented the flavorful meats well. The service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. One area where they could improve is explaining the dishes and sides in a more detailed manner, but overall, they did a great job. If you're in the mood for classic BBQ in a cozy, welcoming environment, Jake's Roadhouse is a great choice. The food is solid, and the atmosphere makes it a spot worth visiting in Monrovia.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. This restaurant is in a great location (Old Town Monrovia) and has a cozy non-pretentious vibe inside. They specialize in BBQ and Sandwiches. Also they are open for breakfast. We love their Kettle Corn available fresh at the Monrovia Farmers Market every Friday nights, so we stopped by for takeout. I ordered the Monster Ribs Plate, since they "specialize" in BBQ; and a Cobb Salad. In short, both items were not edible. The BBQ ribs tasted BITTER and TOUGH to chew; their BBQ sauce could NOT save that thing. Awful! On the other hand, the Cobb Salad was decent, but lacked the traditional addition of "tomatoes", the avocado slices were hard (not ripe). Both items ordered were again, not edible. The reviews of this restaurant are mostly positive with a Yelp 4 star average rating, so am kind of surprised that our experience with their food wasn't better. Service was fine. Now, Breakfast items are also their specialty, so perhaps I should order that next time and see how that goes. In the meantime, I will just stop by for the Kettle Corn.

Janine C.

Yelp
Fun roadhouse aesthetic with cool tunes. Don't sleep in the breakfast. The raspberry lemon pancakes are awesome.

Yelp
Solid local, family-owned BBQ spot in the heart of Old Town Monrovia! Their menu has lots of variety, the vibes are country-cozy, and staff are friendly and attentive. Their smoked chicken is delicious and their portions are gigantic! Been coming here for over 7 years now and their quality is very consistent. My go to is usually any plate that has their smoked chicken on it but their sandwiches are good too. On our last visit we got the spare ribs dinner and the Big D's combo. Their portions are more than generous. One dinner could definitely feed two people - we always forget and end up taking half our food home lol. Their spare ribs have an ok flavor but they were a tad tough and chewy - not sure if it's the cut of rib or what but I wouldn't get this again. The sauce and smoky seasoning was still decent so I would definitely give their baby back or beef ribs a try next time. The Big D's combo comes with 1/2 smoked chicken, spicy sausage link and 2 sides. I also added a dinner salad. Their smoked chicken is flawless - the softest chicken I've ever had and the BBQ sauce they put on it is excellent. The spicy sausage has a really nice kick to it - not too hot and not too mild. Their baked potato and corn on the cob are great sides. Everything comes with their famous "corn muffins" that are slightly sweet and I think they have blueberries in them - which to me is an odd accompaniment but they're delicious so it's like a little dessert haha! Prices are what you'd expect for the area. The staff were all very friendly and more than happy to help - checked up on us often. We felt very welcomed - very relaxed, casual vibes here. Location is fantastic in the heart of Old Town - so a great place to walk off all that BBQ lol. Parking is all street or in one of the public lots and free. They have inside/outside seating and they also do catering. Definitely a staple of our little Monrovia community - we'll be back next time we crave some BBQ!

Yelp
So We went to Check out this Joint that was Highlighted on Channel 7 News as a Kool Place to Grub and Support the New Owner/Operator. We ( Bea & I ) Liked the Road Signs Everywhere and the Ribs were Good!!! If You are in Monrovia I think You will Like this Small Gem of a Restaurant.

Yelp
We came here for brunch after our morning workout. Wait time was about 30 minutes to be seated. There were many parties ahead of us so 30 minutes was very reasonable. The interior of the restaurant's walls are decorated with signs and license plates, a nice retro vibe. Our server seated is and we ordered pretty quickly. We ordered several items: The Godfather omelette with a side of lemon raspberry pancake and potatoes, the southwestern omelette with banana French toast and hash browns. Food was packed with flavor in really decent portions. The spicy Texas sausage in the southwestern had a good kick to it. Our other highlight was the lemon raspberry pancakes. The pancakes were verrrry fluffy and the raspberry syrup paired nicely.. it wasn't too sweet and just a bit tart. My husband loved his banana French toast.. the toast was THICK, not soggy at all. 10/10 would come back and try their lunch/dinner menu!

Yelp
What can I say about Jake's Roadhouse that hasn't already been said in the myriad reviews that precede mine? Perhaps nothing at all; nevertheless, I'll add my voice to the culinary chorus. Aptly named, Jake's features a cool, Route 66 roadhouse aesthetic, complete with old metal signs and license plates that adorn the walls. One need not stretch the imagination to picture Jake and Elwood Blues knocking out a soulful rendition of the theme from Rawhide as diners gnosh away. Don't get too excited, however. There is neither a stage nor live performances at Jake's, and honestly, I'm glad. It's nice to be able to actually hear what one's server is saying, and vice versa. Speaking of servers and service, both are outstanding. I've been coming to Jake's for years now, at least ten years, and I see many of the same servers and bud staff year in and year out. Servers remember us, and they often inquire after family members who may not be with us on a given visit. It feels good to be remembered, but they don't just remember their customers. They treat customers as valued guests, making sure their coffees stay full and hot (for those of us into hot coffee) and their food comes out swiftly. Naturally, the food is terrific. Portions are large, and there is a wide selection with something delicious for every palate. I'm a breakfast guy myself, so I generally go for that. The Jake's Country Breakfast is amazing! If you are exceptionally hungry, be sure to get it. The Texas spicy sausage is actually spicy, so I recommend it if you like spicy food. Whatever you order, if it's an option (it is!) try the lemon raspberry pancakes. They are divine! Today I wasn't as hungry, so I got the Godfather Omelet. I loved it. On the rare occasion that I'm not in the mood for breakfast (so rare) or I come in at night, I also enjoy Jake's sandwiches. I really like the Southwest Chicken Sandwich, as does my daughter. Okay, so what do we do at Jake's? We arrive hungry, and we leave stuffed and happy. I look forward to seeing you there!

Jeff D.

Yelp
Jakes! is amazing lemon raspberry pancakes! Country fried steak and eggs this place is a must best breakfast in the San Gabriel Valley hands down! Service is great prices are very reasonable

Terry C.

Yelp
Jake's is the only place around that has real BBQ smoked the way it's supposed to be. The ribs are always big and meaty. And the rib tips are to die for. They could delete the blueberry muffin. It's super dry. Robins in Pasadena used to serve a really moist and delicious blueberry muffin. This one doesn't match up. But it is a BBQ spot and not a bakery. So I'm not taking any stars off. Especially considering the alternative BBQ spots nearby. Do not! I repeat do not waste your time going to Dickey's over by Target for some boiled bbq. Drive a couple miles west and stop at Jake's. You'll thank me later.

Derek F.

Yelp
Not our first choice but this is certainly surprising! The wait was shorter than anticipated in this large diner. I really liked the roadhouse atmosphere with freeway signs throughout. I ordered the sausage and eggs specifically the Texas spicy sausage or something with country potatoes. I didn't expect it to be so good, the juicy sausage links were humongous packed with flavors. For sausage lovers you gotta try it! The pancakes tasted average for me but probably because I'm not a pancake person. The service was swift and they refilled without delay. May come back soon when I'm in the area.

Jim B.

Yelp
This is a rustic little diner in downtown Monrovia which was quite excellent. The food was excellent especially the chorizo and eggs. The waitstaff was very pleasant and very efficient. No empty cups of coffee. Great place to have breakfast.

G R.

Yelp
Clean location with quirky decorations/ambiamce throughout make it a fun place to visit. The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly, and the food was good. It's like a little gem in that city... Definitely will be going back.

Kendra P.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for a long time for breakfast but it's always seem's so busy. I had family in town in Tuesday night and thought it would be a great opportunity to try this place. Not busy at all for a Tuesday night at around 6:15, minimum of like 4 tables occupied. Was greeted promptly for our drink order. Then another waiter came to get our food order, another person checked up on us periodically and brought us our check. We didn't have the same person the whole time we were there but we were well taken care of. The place is cutely decorated with license plates and other kitschy signs. The food was good. My burger was big and cooked the way I asked and the mushrooms were seasoned well, tasty and were cut into huge chunks. The fries were seasoned just right as well. I want to go back and try this place for breakfast someday, will definitely be going back for dinner or lunch as well.

Zack B.

Yelp
Been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every menu item that I've tried is great. You won't regret going here!

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Jake's is an altogether great experience. It is a very comfortable, casual, fun atmosphere with friendly, caring waitstaff and EXCEPTIONAL food! I have had items from breakfast, lunch and dinner portions of the menu and have LOVED everything I ever selected. It is not pretentious or exaggerated in any way; just great food from great people !!!!!

Debi B.

Yelp
Great chicken fried steak and great service. Got bbq a few weeks ago everything was very tasty and there was plenty of food.

Jeremy E.

Yelp
I came, I saw and I'll never be coming back...I am so disappointed. Inside, the place looked great; beautiful space with gorgeous wood panel walls and a very clean "collector" decorated aesthetic that had a level of coziness to it. Felt like I was in the right spot. Then started feeling that a little less after looking at the menu. From experience in the Mid-west and South, BBQ owners who know what people want and want to show off their mastery generally offer a range or variety of combination plates to highlight their expert cooks and hook the customer into having at least one favorite...this place doesn't seem to either know that or have a mastery of BBQ because they don't even have brisket, pulled pork or pulled chicken and what is offered is lacking in variety for a decent price. You want 2 meats you say that aren't the cheapest cuts? Here it's $40 and up...tisk tisk. As I am not a restauranteur, it's hard to speculate why BBQ is so expensive and in California, it seems to be the universal truth and this place is no different. The cheapest combo they offer is $25 which is chicken and a link...what a shame what a shame. As a first time customer and forever weary of a place that looks good but doesn't smell like smoke, eased in with a "Big D's" combo which consisted of half a smoked chicken and smoked sausage link in spicy sauce with Mac and cheese and steamed vegetables. Full DISAPPOINTMENT! Chicken was dry in some parts and under cooked in others. Although the sauce was good, it was the only thing that contained smoked and with the chicken having no char or gristle, there wasn't any evidence this thing saw a grill, flame or any heat...dare I say it was microwaved. Everything else was so lackluster, it's a waste of time to even describe. The chicken was so awful I only ate a quarter of it and sadly, had to throw it away which is something I can never bear to do when it comes to an animal losing their life to be just a full waste. All in all, a huge let down and bummed to find yet again, another whack and overinflated BBQ joint that has no problem charging a high price for low quality.

Gabriela M.

Yelp
Celebrated my brothers birthday with a large party and the service was amazing. I ordered a French toast sandwich ( 2 eggs, 4 slices of French toast and bacon). The French toast was really good. Our food came out pretty quickly, given that the restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon and we were a large party. Service was great, our waitress was attentive and efficient. We would return and try another dish,

Masis Y.

Yelp
I need to mention their other dishes along with pancakes are amazing. It's only fair for f I upgrade the review to 4 star because their Italian spicy sausage in any thing taste great. I will still say they should reconsider the steak meat wholesaler change or tender it better. But other dishes so far great

Cristina V.

Yelp
Love the food and love supporting local business. This is our newest favorite breakfast spot and to quote my kids, "It's better than IHOP".

Joy B.

Yelp
Jake's is a local staple. I have only been here twice for breakfast, but the food has been good both times. There is an abundance of seating, so even though they do a good business, it's not hard to get a seat. The decor is unique, quirky and fun--lots of old street signs and memorabilia on the wall. The staff is really friendly too. Just come hungry because the portions are BIG!

David D.

Yelp
Ordered appetizers platter through DoorDash 5 onion rings, 5 rib tips, six buffalo wings, no bbq wings, six zucchini and mushrooms. Only the mushrooms were as usual, the rest was a disaster and not acceptable. DoorDash brought it cold, soggy and damp but no idea what the kitchen was thinking about. Do not order accept in person.

april m.

Yelp
Jakes in one restaurant where no matter the time of day, breakfast, lunch or dinner you gonna get a good meal. The restaurant has a small town bbq vibe, service is good. One restaurant we frequent.

Fely G.

Yelp
It's a great place for brunch. They have good selection of omelets. Spacious clean and delicious. I just wish that they have more options for lunch. I haven't tried but perhaps bring a group there for a meeting.

Lee B.

Yelp
Was looking for a Breakfast spot after a Dr's appointment and was directed here. Went for breakfast but ended up eating lunch. I ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich and fries and Mario had the pulled chicken lunch platter. The food is amazingly good and reasonably priced. The service is very attentive as it seems every server is eager to assist from bringing waters to answering questions about the menu. The ambience is that of an old Diner. With all the decorations and snacks guns on the walls, one doesn't have time to read their phones. We will definitely be back for breakfast... and for lunch.

Taryn L.

Yelp
My family loves beef ribs. For about $35 you get a full rack of beef ribs at any time in the day. We came at 9:30am and they were hot and ready to go! They were served with a blueberry muffin and two sides. The potato salad had that homemade vinegar taste, but the Mac and cheese was kind of bland. The BBQ sauce was tangy and mouthwatering and they weren't skimpy with it. Check out my photos of the plates, they split the dish in two for my guest and me! (And yes that's grammatically correct, friends) Despite discovering them for BBQ, the breakfast plates coming out at 9:30am looked amazing. They have coffee, eggs, French toast, hashbrowns and more! The service here rivals places like Flappys jacks or Lisa's! They are all so kind, and staff is constantly roaming around to pick up plates, refill water or coffee, and grab any requests. I never was waiting for something I needed, the staff was A+ The ambiance is super quaint, and old timey with tons of decor on the walls! I would absolutely be back for breakfast or BBQ. Very happy with my experience.

David H.

Yelp

Bill C.

Yelp
This was a great find. The food is great , from burgers and sandwiches to awesome BBQ. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. If you like the eclectic motif they have a huge collection of metal history on the walls. Next time I am in town you know where to find me.

Samuel S.

Yelp
Been coming to this place here and there. Some days are better than others, but more often than not they do a good job. Now of course don't expect high quality aged beef and barbecue like you would at a top tier restaurant. But for what it is, it's decent. I've tried other things in the menu, and they're just okay, but what I typically order is either the rib-eye or the NY strip with some mac and cheese and a baked potato. It gets the job done when I'm looking for an easy and cheaper steak. Can't beat the prices here really. You don't break your wallet and the quality for the price is good.

JJ F.

Yelp
First time here. I was thinking of getting a scramble or omelette, in hindsight probably should have. Instead, I chose to get BBQ since it's a roadhouse. The tri-tip sandwich was nothing special - it was a bit tough, actually better the next day warmed up. Side salad was $3 but a great deal since it's a full size salad, that's why I had half the sandwich leftover. Service was excellent, which is why I'm giving 4 stars not 3. We had a big party and food and drinks came out quickly. Ambiance is typical roadhouse with wood panels, license plates, etc.

Hugo V.

Yelp
To those that were invited to @josethepiesa's 40th birthday dinner celebration... Bottom of my THANK YOU for making time to attend to make her experience even more special. I also wanted to give thanks to our fave waiter George for assisting me even tho he wasn't able to serve us that night and all thanks to the owner and his son for allowing me to have the biggest dinner ever at @jakesroadhouse. #wife #40thbirthday #happybirthday

Carlos D.

Yelp
First time here ever. We came by this place for breakfast. They offer outside dining. We got lucky because when we arrived there was no wait. We were seated right away. Our server name was Manny and he was very patient and recommended dishes. Manny was awesome came by frequently to make sure if we needed anything. The food was delicious. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. Will definitely come back and try their lunch and dinner.

Patricia D.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and they got Mimosas!!! You can never go wrong! Pancakes are fluffy and great

Alyssa C.

Yelp
I just finished eating breakfast with my husband here and it was soo good! And very generous portions - which I didn't expect. The prices are more than fair. I ordered the New York steak and eggs with pancakes and hashbrowns, and my husband ordered the Godfather omelet also with hash browns and pancakes. The steak was huge and cooked perfectly, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious and even the hashbrowns were done perfectly (which I'm always quick to judge if I want to eat somewhere by the look of their hashbrowns). And my husband's omelet was really good and filling too! I love that the sausage wasn't too overpowering (seasoning wise) but had generous amounts in and on it. It also had a nice amount of cheese so there was a good cheese pull to it. Honestly, we left with enough food for another entire meal, so you can definitely share and still leave satisfied and full. I love the decor. It's always fun to read Iall the fun signs and everything. And last but not least, THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. I love when you can ask a server their opinion and they give you an honest answer so that meant a lot. She was quick to refill my soda whenever it was getting low, and we didn't need to request anything because she was already on it. We will definitely be back to try more of the delicious food.

Lenny L.

Yelp
Did our annual Christmas breakfast from work , my first time here never really explored breakfast locations since I'm not a morning type of person. We did have a reservation at 9am it's not too busy a lot of open tables. Was greeted by our server Lidia she is super nice and awesome we did have questions on the menu and she's super patient explained everything and shared her recommendations as well. Ordered Rib eye steak and eggs what can I say the rib eye was really good well seasoned and I ate it all was cooked perfectly medium well. The hash browns just the way I always want it crispy and crunchy it just went down from their pancakes not a fan was really kinda dry and it's lacking something can't explain. But will definitely come back to explore the menu .

Marbely M.

Yelp
We came for breakfast portions are decent. i had french toast and eggs with house potatoes. breakfast was really good. service was great very attentive. its a big restaurant lots of space good for big families

Ruby G.

Yelp
Went here for dinner yesterday and ordered the tri tip plate with baked beans and mac n cheese. I'm not sure what they tried to pass off as "tri tip" meat but it was this flat grey looking piece of meat with grill marks. Sorry but it looked like the kind of meat you get from a frozen dinner and I don't eat that so I'm not going to eat it at a BBQ place either. The baked beans tasted old and vinegary and the mac had pieces of what looked like the pan or grill peeling off. I told the hostess to please take it back and asked for the check. When the server finally came he had the nerve to have an attitude with us. Look I get it you're the middle person but come on man I'm sure you wouldn't eat gross food either so don't be mad at us. Anyway if you liked boiled or day old meat that is trying to be passed off as fresh help yourself otherwise so long Jake's.

Robert A.

Yelp
The people working were very kind and kept conversation light. My food came out pretty descent. Picture perfect, however I can't say my steak was a 10/10, salt and pepper on the table for a reason :-/. Overall though, I'd come back and try something different.

L S.

Yelp
Tangy Cheese Melt. Butter&garlic mushroom halves/quarters. So so so good. If you MUST have meat- add bacon. But does not need. Absolutely worth it.

Yelp
Looks like you'd expect for a place named Jakes Roadhouse. Roadhouse type look and feel and Roadhouse type food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff, mostly. Our server was not as nice however the rest of the staff made up for it. It seems our server was pretty slow and we had to wait to place a dinner order, place a dessert order, to get our check and finally to pay. One of those scenarios when people are seated after you and get served before you. Maybe just an off night. Ordered the Smoked Sausage Plate with Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw. It was very good as was the dinner salad I ordered. Coleslaw was average and went nicely as leftovers. Also ordered was a Cowboy Combo which is 1/2 a smoked chicken and 1/2 rack of BB ribs. Sides were baked potato and veggies. Everything was very flavorful and this monster combo was shared by two. Also ordered a kids Quesadilla with fries. Everyone loved there food and overall it was a good experience. Great original Monrovia area. Tons if shops and eateries in this area. Great for a walk after a meal. Even some historical places nearby. Lots of parking, seemed like average pricing for this type of place.

Yelp
This is my first time here and everyone is cordial, not exceptional service but adequate. The Texas sausage is delicious and I would come back for dinner based on that. My wife ordered the tuna melt which was not good; however, in fairness who orders that in a BBQ joint???? She's from the Midwest so I forgive her! All in all based on breakfast only I rate this at a solid 4. I will go back for dinner to taste the BBQ. That being said I am concerned that the server didn't know what type of wood was used to smoke the sausage and I don't smell smoke so I do not have high hopes for a legit BBQ experience.

Yelp
Local diner style place in old town Monrovia. The portions are HUGE. I ordered the one lb burger and I bet it was more than that. Took out one of the Pattie's and was still so full. My fiancé couldn't even eat half of her omelette. Flavor was good but on the greasy side. Extremely cheap for the amount of food they give you. I'll come back to try some other items on the menu.

Yelp
I've been here through the years for the bbq dinner menu but experienced breakfast for the first time this weekend and found my new favorite breakfast spot. Jake's roadhouse has a nice collection of license plates all over the walls. Ample seating inside. They were busy on a rainy Sunday but able to seat our party of 4 within 10 mins. ++ for the waitress that offered to relocate us to a bigger table since we had started off our drink order and foreseen we'd need more room. I ordered the a country Fried steak special and the gravy was delicious. the steak was crispy yet juicy inside. the potatoes were flavorful and had a good balance of veggies to potato ratio. I opted for the lemon raspberry pancake...Mmm pancake was light fluffy with slight taste of lemon, a raspberry butter and syrup. It was delectable. Needless to say i will be doing breakfast here more often.

Yelp
I food was very good. I ordered the sliders lunch and it was great! We also ordered the appetizer sampler, it was huge!! The portion was so big I couldn't finish my slider lunch! The restaurant had a country theme about it with a lot of 10 signs in the wall. Very cool and comfortable! The location of the restaurant was very cool as well! The staff check up on me often. Didn't have an issue getting my drink refilled or any questions with the menu. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. Good barbecue big portions, cool atmosphere!!
