Jalapenos Mexican Eats

Maitland, Florida……Alejandra (who is pictured in the red shirt) has been consistent with GREAT customer service since the first time I visited Jalapeños. I used to work next door and would frequently visit the restaurant. The food is always fresh, hot and flavorful. Recently, I took my family there and the dining atmosphere was fun and relaxing. It was clean with entertaining music. I ordered the Nachos along with my daughters, which is my all time favorite. The nachos are crisp and taste so good. My son ordered the burrito and it was packed with fresh ingredients. Will we return? ABSOLUTELY!! 🌮 🌯

This place is a hidden gem! The flavors are on point! The customer service is great! Everything was great! If you're in the area definitely stop by you won't regret it!

Solid fast casual style Mexican restaurant that is authentic and has reasonable pricing, what more can you ask for? Service was great and everything tasted fresh. I’ll never understand why people go to chains. Al pastor nachos with guacamole for $11, you cannot beat that! Definitely will back :)

Really great place for tacos and reasonably priced Mexican food. The barbacoa was delicious. The tortillas are homemade which is so nice. We also had a tamale which was moist and very flavorful. They’re also happy to answer questions about allergens. Absolutely delicious we will be back!

Highly recommend. Delicious burrito, quesadilla, and torta. The hot sauce was the perfect level of spicy. Don’t have pictures because I inhaled the food. Ingredients were fresh and service was friendly and informative

Cute little restaurant with good food! Portions are huge we got burritos and they were absolutely stuffed. The barbacoa was good and hot salsa was excellent.

My first time here and I loved it! I got three tacos — carnitas, shredded chicken, and al pastor. A bit messy, but that’s because I had them with everything. Totally worth the mess! I also had a pork tamale, which was excellent as well.

It has been on my to try places when I am in the area and keep passing by and forgetting it is closed on Sunday! Glad I finally stopped by since it was authentic and delicious! I was greeted by the owner and she was nice, friendly, attentive and happy to answer any questions and make suggestions. I ordered 2 chicken tacos with corn tortillas and pickled jalapeños, a side of rice and a jamaica (hibiscus) water. Everything was fresh, flavourful, assembled to order and delicious! I will definitely be back and keep them as pne of my go to's for the area.

An unassuming place on the outside but inside I found tasty tacos and kind and wonderful service. And I didn't need a second visit to determine if I liked it or not. I ordered a steak taco and barbacoa taco in soft tortillas. After heating the flats, a healthy helping of meat nearly filled the round taco. I chose pico salsa for both and then green salsa to put on one and spicy salsa for the other. All for free, I finished both off with chopped red onions, cilantro and pickled jalapeños. Both were very tasty and satisfying. Plenty of other food options are available, as well as Mexican soda and candy. The location might be easy to miss in the small storefront plaza. The seating is adequate and pricing is fair.

Originally ordered 2 steak and 1 barbacoa corn taco...... then realized they were so good, I ordered two more!!! Delish, fresh, great prices and cute atmosphere. Bonus points for me 7 minutes from the job! Owner was here, very nice and pleasant.

Loved the meats and aqua frescas! Do not leave without grabbing a slice of tres leches cake!

The food is pretty good, a bit more tex-mex than we expected, it feels like a fast food place. The Queso and chips are soooo good. Al pastor meat is only pork it does not contain any pineapple or the traditional sweet-spicy taste. There's a lot of toppings available for your tacos and burritos. They also have an area full of Mexican candy and snacks. There is parking in front of the restaurant, and service is very kind and fast as everything is pre-prepared. They play Mexican music inside and it is a very casual lay/back atmosphere.

Love Jalapeños. It's a small business and easy to miss when driving by, but if you do find it and wonder in you'll be glad you did! The service was great and the food is good too. A go to on a busy weeknight.

Not sure what all the hype is about. I'm an avid taco eater and have tried so many of the taco spots in the greater Orlando area and this is probably my least favorite. I got 4 chicken tacos. 2 grilled chicken, 2 shredded chicken. My wife got the steak quesadilla. EVERYTHING was dry and bland. The steak quesadilla was sooo flavorless. Chipotles kids quesadilla is better than this. Sign outside says fresh, but everything is sitting there getting warmed up. It's a cute place and the staff was kind, but the food just isn't great. Will be sticking to my fav Quesa Loco on the Orlando/Winter Park cusp. Similarly priced and soooo much better.

KUDOS and Muchos Gracias especially to Alejandra for superb customer service and recommendations! A fellow Yelper suggested Jalapeños and I'm so glad I came! I ordered 3 Corn Tacos with Barbacoa, Carnitas and Al Pastor and a Horchata to drink. I'm was thoroughly impressed that everything was made in house from the Housemade corn tortillas, salsa, and the various meat fillings. All the ingredients are made fresh. I got the following toppings like cilantro, sour cream, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and lime. Please come and visit this authentic Mexican restaurant from lunch to dinner. Jalapeños also does catering on a larger scale for company parties and functions! I encourage all to come and support this local business and enjoy where the real Mexican food is!

My husband and I went here for lunch - it was my first time at Jalepeños, and my husband's many-ith time haha. He and his coworkers come here very often and I can see why! We got a bunch of everything today and it was all delicious, especially the chicken tinga nachos. The chips are so crispy and the rest of the ingredients are so fresh! Their red salsa has a good kick to it which is countered well by the perfectly sweet guac. The ladies helping us with our order were wonderful and extremely friendly! I get the hype and will definitely be back with more friends

The reviews made me want to try this place. Located in a small blink and you'll miss it strip mall I came on a Friday afternoon. I can't eat much but nothing looked appealing. It all looked as if it had been sitting for hours. I requested chips and Queso and figured if that's good then I'll test and get more. I requested this side order with a side of beef mixed with the Queso. I told the women I didn't mind paying extra just so I could sample the basic-the price of a single taco would have been reasonable. She adviddd me to get the big nacho combo plate. Something I saw was offered , but so was chips & queso do I requested what I thought my stomach could handle. She refused to accommodate my request. This was a to go order & I didn't want my food to get soggy on the way home. She slammed the chips back down and walked away to the back. The customer service is probably why this place is always empty when I drive by daily as well as today. Skip it and go to one of the MANY surrounding Mexican restaurants in the area- total miss

I've come to this place three times now and this time I got one of the older ladies that was being so stingy with the portions. Usually I get tacos so it doesn't really show but this time I got a bowl. I asked for rice beans and it was one scoop each the whole bowl wasn't full with all toppings. I was asking for alittle more and she would put pea sized amounts. The food is good just wish she was give me food for the amount I was paying

Muy bueno. The steak and chicken chipotle are my favorite. Get the lemonade too. Burritos are massive and the tacos are excellent.

This is THE most authentic and high quality Mexican food in Orlando. This is our go to place for amazing food. Prices are very reasonable and the food is tasty. It's owned by a mom and her two daughters and everything including the chips is made from scratch. A must try restaurant that once you have been here you will be back.

Nice small Mexican restaurant. Best way to describe their setup is that it's like a Mexican subway, where you go down the line and build-your-own burrito and Taco with fresh ingredients as you like. Fast turn around and they have basic seating as well.

The best thing I had here was the Mexican Coke. That should tell you how my experience went. The restaurant itself was clean and service was friendly. The reviews on here make it seem like its so great but its not. My steak quesadilla was so bland it tasted like tortilla thats it. I hate to say it but the quesadilla at taco bell has more flavor. Quesa Loco on Fairbanks is so much better. I wont be returning.

The cashier was nice. From the owner answering previous reviews I can see why this place will continue to only get regulars. I wasn't greeted just looked at when I entered and that made me uncomfortable but some people came in right after me and they were instantly greeted and welcomed. The tacos are small . I only got 1 taco veggie and when I asked the server for more cilantro and onion she said it would e extra charge which blew my mind because there was barely any there to begin with. My total was $3.31and was only given one tortilla which tore . in my opinion it's not worth it but to each there own .

Let me tell you, this is my first time eating here and it was amazing. The staff is very friendly, the food is A+. I told her I wanted it so hot I cry when I eat. She was close, my nose ran but the flavor was excellent. I will eat here again. The only thing I will do different is I will order a bowl because this burrito is huge.

Their flan and tamales are new favorites! Also they've recently had Aguas Frescas: lemonade, Jamaica (hibiscus), & tamarind! So good!

I thank god that my curiosity led me into this place. I discovered this place about three weeks ago and I've returned about 3 times since then to get some food! Super well taken care of by the ladies of this establishment & the food is to die for. All protein options are so flavorful (i recommend the barbacoa or the carnitas!), and not to mention the fresh toppings. This place completely blows chipotle out of the water, & I probably won't return to chipotle since I know this exists. Keep this small business thriving & do yourself a favor and visit! I also want to mention that this is my first Yelp review. Jalapeños definitely deserves my first yelp review.

Five stars for a fantastic family-owned business in Maitland! I was so happy to see this little place pop up a few months ago and finally took the chance to go in. They had a successful day so some items were gone already, but I was able to snag 4 tacos--a chicken on corn tortilla, carnitas on corn, and each meat on flour. THIS FOOD WAS FRESH. The flavors were spot on and man was the meat tender!!! Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back and try the tamales and their other meats! UPDATE: CAME BACK and got the pork tamales and chicken tamales and the barbacoa. EVERYTHING WAS JUST AS AMAZING AS LAST TIME!!!!!

My dad and I went for an early dinner. Around 5:40/6 during the week. The girl who was working was very sweet, but the food was quite bland. I had a burrito with carnitas and cheese. I ordered a side of queso as well. So the queso...there was a bin that looked empty with what looked like the remains of queso. I asked the girl if there was anymore queso or if it was just the one bin that had been made for the day. She said there's still some left, and proceeded to scrap up the remnants of queso. Ironically, it was the most flavorful part of the meal. So I guess it worked out. Overall, I don't think I'd go back, but my dad loved it.

Homemade authentic corn tortillas! This place is great...very fast and delicious food. Our favorites are the Carnitas Burrito, Shredded Chicken Tacos, Queso, and of course the Corn tortillas.

What a gem !!! The most authentic and delicious Mexican food I had in Orlando. The tacos are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT !!! They are street tacos (authentic) which means they are not so big but they are worth it. SO WORTH IT! I ordered 4 tacos and I saw the meats I decided to ask for 2 more and try more options and it didn't disappoint. The staff (mom and daughter) are very sweet, caring and definitely accommodating. Thank you for the best Mexican food experience of my life. Absolutely top notch food!

What a welcome addition to Maitland! We ordered two tamales, a fiesta bowl with barbacoa, a burrito with carnitas, horchata and a tres leches cake. Which was definitely an over-order for two people but we almost finished the lot! The tamales were the standout in my mind because it's so hard to find a place that makes them in Florida, let along a great version, but these were so tender and soft but still flavorful. If I was being super picky I would say the horchata was a little too sweet and not as cinnamon-y as I prefer but really overall I am thrilled to have such a great Mexican option here finally!!

I tried almost all the meats. Very satisfied. However, I would pick the grilled chicken instead of the chipotle chicken. Inside is clean with cute aesthetics!

Lets taco bout this spot, its nacho your average Mexican eats...ITS WAY BETTER! Been here a few times but forget to check in/write a review, I usually order the nachos locos or tacos. The food here is made fresh and taste authentic, this is your best option if you are craving something Mexican, quick, and tasty.

Iv been here a few time since they've opened and been impressed each time. This is where you go for AUTHENTIC Mexican food! Staff Is always friendly and happy to give recommendations. Food was great each time and always filling. I'll be going here often

I got a veggie fiesta bowl. The flavorful Mexican rice, red beans and sautéed green peppers make this bowl extra tasty. The server is friendly and lets you taste items which is helpful towards building a meal that you love. I like how clean and simple it is in there.

Easily my best find in Maitland and it's not even close. I've been working down the street less than half a mile away and only recently found this. This is well executed Mexican food, without being bland or lazy cooking. They recommend the carnitas, which is really moist, tender and juicy. The tamales are home made, soft and fresh. Their orange hot sauce is spicy and vibrant. Price are absolutely on point. Go tacos, tamales, or a huge burrito.

The tacos and tamales here are legit. So much flavor and filling potions. My go to is the Barbacoa and Tamales. Minerva is so warm and inviting and the place is cozy and fun. It is a blessing and curse to have such a good taco place nearby

Maitland needed a taco order and go place. Fresh, good and well priced. Really enjoyed the chips and white queso. And happy to see a kids menu.

Very friendly. Very clean. But the food was very bland. I love Mexican food, especially all the wonderful flavors from the fresh ingredients but the flavor here fell flat unfortunately.

I'm obsessed with this restaurant! We've tried almost everything on their menu, and all of it is incredibly flavorful, authentic and fresh. Their tamales are my favorite, but every dish is outstanding! Their homemade lemonade is also delicious.

Great quick takeout option. Got a chicken quesadilla and a couple of pork tamales. The green sauce for the tamales had good flavor. Fresh, good and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

HOMEMADE BY A MEXICAN MOM & AFFORDABLE!!! This restaurant caught my eye driving by and I did a U-turn to come back around and give it a try. So glad I did as I walked into an authentic Mexican street food option here in Maitland that has great price points and is very clean. A lady named Minerva greeted me with a smile and guided me through all the options and toppings. She explained that it was all made by her mom and when I sat down to enjoy the meal it became obvious this is an authentic option not some Tex-Mex knock off. Will definitely be back and hope that they decide for authentic homemade dessert options in the near future to match their tasty tacos and tamales. Maybe some sopapillas? :-)

What a hidden gem! Love this family duo restaurant. Jalapeños has authentic, fresh and tasty food. Prices were extremely reasonable and the restaurant was extremely clean.

I only stopped in to get a snack so I got a taco but it was the best taco I've ever had. The lady working was so sweet and the food was so cheap. Cannot recommend this place enough.

By far the best Mexican cuisine in Orlando. If you took a Chipotle and upgraded its ingredients with authentic flavors, you'd get Jalapeños. The quality, flavor, price, and customer service all get 5 stars here for me; especially after my second visit in just 24 hours...(yes it's that good)

Friendly service and super fresh ingredients make this a go to for me. Think of these tacos as little love letters wrapped in either corn or flour envelopes and then mailed to your stomach. Reasonable prices and generous servings in this family run business. If really hungry consider the 13 inch quesidelia as love package rather than letter. Each time I leave this place I feel like a taco evangelist ready to tell the neighborhood to go be nourished in love.

After living in deep south Texas for 30 years, I can tell you that these folks know what tacos and tamales are! Support this amazing family run business. I've only been once, yet plan to return soon in order to try other items off of the menu. If you are a typical American taco eater, then there are toppings for you. If you are a traditionalist, then choose other toppings. The two salsas both are fantastic and the various meats are delicious, it just depends what you are into. Just give Jalapeños a try. You will return! Shop and eat local!

Great little place and reasonably priced. I do wish they had vegetarian tamales, but I had the tacos and they were yummy. It was just an order at the counter and sit down little place. Queso tasted like it was maybe from a can. Otherwise a good place for a quick bite.

If you want the best tasting, homemade and fresh Mexican food you have to stop by Jalapeños. I am from New Jersey and you do not find authentic Mexican food over there it doesn't even compare. Whenever I'm in town will definitely stop here. The food is so tasty! I ordered Birria tacos with a side of rice and beans. The salsas also amazing! I have no complaints the place is clean and has great customer service.

This place is great! I had the burrito with steak and pork tamales and horchata. The burrito was huge and super filling! And you get to pick your own toppings which is a bonus. The pork tamales held up really well. I personally like mine a little drier (some can be a little mushy) so I loved it! Holds up better to add the amazing salsas they have. Will definitely be back. So happy to have them so close!

Just picked up 4 pork Tamales. Can't wait to eat them. So delicious and if there are better one's near Maitland, I'd be curious to try them. Hard to imagine it's possible. Everyone is welcoming and helpful in this spotless tastefully decorated storefront. I'm telling you, you have to try them.

My wife and I walked in after work at 7pm thurs. The owner a sweet woman greeted us and made us the yummiest tacos! My only complaint, is that she doesn't charge enough! Her food is top quality & worth a bit more. We had steak tacos on flour & corn tortillas both with fresh tomatoes, cilantro, onion, lime, took home both house made hot sauce & tomatillo sauce, as well as queso, and added that at home when ready to eat. Great addition to Maitland ! Run don't walk for yummy tacos & burritos! We wish jalapeños much success!
