Brussels Beer Guide: Top Breweries, Brilliant Restaurants and Gorgeous Hotels

"JAM is a trendy hotel featuring a raw style of décor. While it maintains comfort, its vintage and industrial-chic atmosphere sets it apart from most luxury hotels. Guests can choose from private rooms or dormitory-style accommodations. Be sure to check out the rooftop pool—it's a must-try!" - The MICHELIN Guide

"A younger generation in Brussels is casting off the chocolate-box preciousness for which the city was formerly known, in favor of a brutalist-inspired industrial-chic aesthetic — of which JAM is quite possibly the perfect example." - Mark Fedeli

Wonderful choice for our vacation: a very fair price to get a good location in a high-class area, with tram and parking lot right in front, big window view to the street, rooftop bar and small swimming pool, Japanese-style sauna in the basement, friendly and helpful staffs, quiet rooms with good airco. The hotel is designed in industrial style, nothing speaks luxury but more friendly, easy-going and practical. Extra point for the free juice at the front desk and for being dog-friendly

The lift was a nightmare, one wasn’t working and the other wouldn’t stop on the ground floor, when I complained at the reception last wednesday evening the answer was: I don’t know what to do, I will write it down. I mean I don’t know either but I would love to pay for an accommodation and have 1 working lift at least. Also the breakfast was very average, not worth paying for, go out for lunch.

Nice hotel. Easy to access and a lovely peaceful pool on the rooftop. |I have been here four times now and like to come back everytime. |The tram 92 and 97 is just outside the door and the neighbourhood is nice. |If you come by car you can either park at the hotel or take one of the nearby garages in the area.

Decent hotel for 1-4 people! The front desk is nice and helpful about the area. The room itself was the problem, atleast for us. It's roof looked like a mix of concrete and rotting wood. It was most likely just the paint flaking off, but I wouldn't reccomend sleeping on the top bunk anywho. The floors were just plain hard stuff, okay for shoes but not barefoot/socks. Otherwise, it's in a good location and is great for a week or two!

Frist there was no reservation from hotelspecials. New booking made. After check in received the roomnumber. We first went in the city as we were early. After getting back in hotel we received the room key. In the room there was someone else located. At reception there was discussienota who did this wrong. Asked if we could get another room. They were solely busy Who was to Blake for the mix up. After an hour waiting received a new room. Sauna and atsukan was not possible to use as well. At breakfast we couldnot deliver tickets which we should receive At check in. After consoling we could use breakfast . This is not an OK service, very poor.

A truly amazing 3 nights at this cosy hotel in Brussels. We booked a room with 5 beds and they were extremely considerate to offer us an early check-in, as we reached Brussels early morning, with 3 kids. Located at a very convenient area in Brussels, where we could take a tram straight from the Brussels Midi station to the hotel. Grand place and other attractions are reachable in about 25 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was quite artistic, adequate and the bathroom had a tub and a separate walk-in shower. The hot water pressure and temperature were perfect and had everything we needed including tea / coffee, shampoo, towels, and soap. It was serviced every day while replacing tea / coffee. The breakfast was quite adequate, although there wasn't a big spread. However, the chill pool wasn't in operation, but overall it was a fantastic stay at GEM Hotel, Brussels. Thank you very much for everything!! We will surely stay next time in Brussels too.

I’m leaving this hotel a major negative review as I’m standing in the hallway right outside of my hotel room trying get my work done because I cannot access hotel WiFi from my room to finish it. Even though I complained multiple times still hasn’t been fixed and no support. On top of that, I couldn’t enter my room upon coming back from talking to the front desk about the WiFi issue, the key card didn’t work. So I had to go down once more to get my key card reinstated. When I asked about compensation for the caused inconveniences, they offered me a 10% discount for the next stay, which I won’t be able to use at all. I asked for something I can use for this current stay instead, they can do nothing about them. Jam hotel’s management and customer service is really subpar and beyond irresponsible. To make matters worse, my room has no privacy whatsoever, facing a staircase right outside of the hotel room window. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. I wish I’ve picked somewhere else. Smh.

Great hotel: modern, relaxed, clean and organized. Staff is extremely friendly and available any time! Middle of the city, so hard to navigate by car (although the hotel has a good parking). Breakfast ok, and walking distance from loads of restaurants, bars etc.

Yelp
A lovely trendy hotel close to Avenue Louise. Goog restaurant on ground floor and small bar on the roof with a beautiful view on Brussels.

Yelp
The interior design is just amazing & the location is perfect! If you want to live an experience, it's the place to be with a pool and a rooftop... what else!

Yelp
I booked the hotel for 3 days midweek for a visit from the parents. They and I were not disappointed. The room was perfectly designed, and very comfortable. The restaurant was always busy and has a great atmosphere, which is enhanced by the friendly and very accommodating staff. The manager suggested we try the dish of the day which was just delicious. We will be back.

Yelp
This place was ok. I wanted a cool place to stay when we went to Brussels for a concert. The rooms were clean and the beds were super comfy. The location was excellent, close to public transportation and cool restaurants. The hotel had a movie being filmed in it so it made moving around difficult. The breakfast, was ok. For the price, I would expect more. I would stay here but not do breakfast. If you want a parking spot it's 15€ per night.

Yelp
One of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a while. In a nutshell: Booked a room there, wasn't accommodated for questionable reasons but instead moved to an unacceptable alternative, didn't get reimbursed. So upon arrival on a recent Saturday for a 2-night-stay we were told by the front desk manager that because of some "huge electricity problem" issue the entire 5th and 6th floor would be unuseable, and since the hotel was fully booked he couldn't accomodate us. He said he would rebook us for the "Le Berger" which would be a hotel in the "same category". He assured us this would actually be great because the rooms there would be larger than at the Jam. This wasn't quite our plan, but we agreed. Also a friend of ours stayed at the Jam, and we looked at her room which looked great, so we thought we'd definitely have a nice room at the Berger, as well. But we were shocked when we checked into the Berger. The room they gave us was tiny, the entire hotel has a very old and stuffy feel to it and is pretty smelly, too. So it really was the opposite of what we wanted to book when we decided to stay at the Jam with its modern and funky feel. We were dreading the idea of staying there just for a single night, so our friend at the Jam offered to let us stay with her, so we wouldn't have to stay at the Berger. We went back to the Jam and told the front desk manager we thought the Berger was unacceptable and we would stay with our friend. He apologized and said he would make sure we got our own room at the Jam on Sunday. So Sunday morning we went to the front desk to make sure we have our own room that night, but also to ask the front desk manager for a refund for Saturday night, because we obviously didn't use our booking as we stayed in our friend's room. As opposed to the manager the night before, she was not apologetic at all, but starting arguing with us. She said we had no reason to complain, because a) we were rebooked at the Berger and b) we ended up staying at the Jam, anyway. She didn't seem to care that we found the Berger completely inadequate compared to what we originally had booked. Or that it is quite a difference to have your own room and privacy versus staying in the extra bed of a room with somebody else. She also said she wasn't authorized to give us a refund because we would have to contact an email-address for that. So we sent an email, and after about ten days an account manager replied with pretty much the same thing the front desk manager had said. He refused to refund us one night and argued they found a "solution" by rebooking us into the "same category"-Berger. Whatever he means by "same category", this is complete nonsense. We actually compared prices for the Berger and the Jam for several dates, and the Berger was quite a bit cheaper in many cases. But they insisted on charging us the Jam-rate anyway. Laughably, the account manager, while refusing a refund, offered us free breakfasts for our next stay as a "commercial gesture" (as if we would ever stay there again). None of this was our fault. We would have been happy to pay for 2 nights at the Jam, if we would have stayed in our own room for 2 nights as we had planned and booked. Also, we seriously question if this technical problem really existed. We walked up to the supposedly ususeable floors on Sunday morning and saw hotel guests and staff there which made us suspect this might have been just an overbooking situation. So we've come to know the Jam as a shady business with a lousy understanding of hospitality. I would never go there again.

Yelp
The room was okay, but everything els was closed except for the roof bar. The staff didn't even know if the wellness was open so we had to check it ourself. We will sadly not come back to this hotel.

Yelp
Great concept of hotel. Rooms are nice however, the noise from ongoing constructions is horrible. Rooms are not sound proof and you can hear other hotel guests very clearly. Otherwise 5 stars for design, and that amazing game room in the basement! Restaurant is nice and breakfast options very broad and all fresh! Recommended.

Yelp
In Jam hotel in dorm I was stung by bedbugs (in almost 100 places on head and arms), but beware, it can be the problem in another rooms as well. The staff knows this problem (earlier guests complained), but still they are placing guests in this room. Horrible experience from the hotel made stay in Brussels very unpleasent. After back home and visit to doctor who identified the places of bites I have written to hotel with complains. After 2 weeks manager offered to refund 26EUR, when I have paid 109EUR. After my message with data to transfer money they have silenced and not refunded my stay even in this partial amount.

Yelp
The food in the restaurant here is unfortunately under all critic. Pasta boiled less than al dente, some tomato slices in different sized cubes and pepper.. very disappointed. The other guests at my table were as disappointed with theirs. Tasteless and very overpriced.
