The 18 Best Caribbean Restaurants And Takeaways In London

"Sit-down With its blue velvet upholstery, foliage-covered wall, and turned-up R&B playlist, Jam Delish is proudly a place where everyone leaves full and revived. This Islington restaurant has become a destination for vegan Caribbean food and on any Thursday night you’ll see a room full of people happily munching seitan fish tacos and bopping to whatever’s playing. There are other small plates too, like a whole jerk plantain, but it’s the mains like the warming oxtail stew—made from mushroom and jackfruit—that stand out." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley

The 23 Best Restaurants In Islington

"Jam Delish, a vibrant vegan Caribbean spot on Tolpuddle Street, has the kind of Good Times energy that will enable a round of colourful cocktails, even on a Tuesday night. You could make a meal from small plates like ‘fish’ tacos and whole jerk plantain with sharp pomegranate, but don’t miss mains like incredibly tender, warming ‘oxtail’ (jackfruit and mushroom) stew. That said, you could equally come here just for the turned-up R&B playlist, foliage-covered walls, and people-watching in the lively dining room." - jake missing

Jam Delish - Review - Islington - London - The Infatuation

"Jam Delish, a vibrant vegan Caribbean spot in Islington, has the kind of Good Times energy that will enable a round of colourful cocktails, even on a Tuesday night. It’s loud—in its blue velvet upholstery, foliage-covered wall, lively dining room, and turned-up R&B playlist—and proudly a place where everyone leaves full and revived. You could make a meal from small plates like ‘fish’ tacos and whole jerk plantain with sharp pomegranate, but don’t miss mains like incredibly tender, warming ‘oxtail’ (jackfruit and mushroom) stew. This is by far one of the best vegan restaurants I have ever visited. They sat us by the main window which was perfect as it natural light streaming through and made the space quite enchanting. The food was just incredible amazing British/ Indian flavours coupled with creative use of vegetables to mimic flavours of poultry, mat and crustaceans. This is definitely one you cannot miss. Thanks again guys for the good hospitality and the service team who were extremely on the ball to ensure our dinner was complete. Thank you so much to John the mixologist, he was very professional and could tell my nationality by my drink preferences. Hats of to you mate your a natural! Thanks again for the lovely bitters 🤙

We were looking forward to trying this place, and while it was a nice evening, the food didn’t really blow us away. We started with the cauliflower and the jackfruit bun, then had the fish curry and skewers as mains. The portions were big, which was great, but the flavors didn’t quite hit the mark for us — hard to put a finger on why. The service was great, although it did take a bit longer than expected. All in all, it was fine, but probably not a place we’d come back to.

The chef has created a versatile menu from mushrooms, jackfruit and veg. Not a chicken, goat or red snapper in sight. Everything is tasty and well seasoned. You won't miss the meat. For me, it's all about the Jamaican “oxtail” coco bread.

Tried the new spring 2025 small plates at Jam Delish and was seriously impressed. Everything was packed with flavour — the coco bread melted in my mouth, the jerk cauliflower with green tahini was next level, and the Trinidadian fritters with tamarind sauce were a total standout. Also loved the alcohol-free pink margarita — super refreshing! Service was top-notch. Big thanks to Vida for being so lovely, and to chef Nathan for coming out to say hi. This place is a rare gem in London — 100% plant-based, independent, and serving incredible food. Highly recommend ✨

We were a group of 15 for my husband's birthday party and we had a wonderful time from start to finish, the food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was peaceful and agreeable. My friend ordered a vegan cake to our surprise it was big and beautiful and of course delicious. I would definitely recommend Jam Delish Islington. It was my first experience. All our guests were delighted and mentioned will definitely go back . I will definitely go back so I can try other options. We really enjoyed all our options but the curry goat is a hit. A big thank you to Jordan who is the owner, was very helpful and prompt response when I was communicating with him. I am recommending this restaurant to everyone who would like to eat and not be disappointed.

Went for dinner on friday and booked a table in advance, loved that it was still such a calm atmosphere for the time id the week. Food was great! I'm not vegan but was eager to try the place, was surprised by how they were able to replicate the textures in the goat curry. The mango flan dessert was amazing. Great service, staff are polite and really sweet. We ordered a main, a side of fries and a dessert and cocktail each which worked out £55ish. Look forward to returning!

I'm very late in posting this. I've always wanted to visit since I saw the chef on the cooking show. So I got my mother and we flew out to London for a weekend. We had a reservation for when the restaurant opened. We get there the gentleman we came into contact with first is a little dismissive but I shrugged it off. My mother did not, it kinda set the tone for her visit. I was too eager to try the food to let that deter me. The server we had was fantastic. She was super sweet and I thoroughly apologized to her for my mom being a little cold. She took it in stride and gave us absolutely amazing service. The food was just as amazing as I knew it would be. Definitely worth the 6.5 hr flight from NYC. I highly recommend it.

I LOVE this place. Had never tried Caribbean food until I got to London and I am forever converted. The flavours are top notch and the attention to detail is amazing. The first time I went the service was quite slow but I went again a second time and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend the jerk chicken skewers and the mini festivals!
