Jamaica Nyammingz Restaurant

First time ordering from Jamaica Nyammingz. I had ordered the oxtail, but they called me to tell me that they were out. I decided to try the jerk pork instead. It was good, but I've had better. The pork wasn't as tender or juicy as I'm used to, but it was packed with smoky and spicy flavor. The seasoning was bold but balanced, with just the right kick of heat. Sides like rice & beans and plantains complemented it well, though the rice could've used a bit more flavor to match the intensity of the pork. The sauce that they provided was extremely delicious and added some nice flavor to complement the dish. The beef patty was really good, the meat was flavorful and the pastry was flaky and delicious. Overall, a seriously delicious and authentic jerk experience. Their service was good and I'm willing to try some of their other dishes. I’ll definitely be back for more!

This place came to me by way of a recommendation from a co-worker. He knew I was very particular about my Jamaican cuisine, and I have to say his assessment was on point. I was here in Killeen for business for a week, and in that time I had the Large oxtail plate for lunch and dinner 3 times. Every facet of the meal was authentically seasoned to perfection. There was no inconsistency with each and every plate I received, all were equally good, right down to the cabbage. With the price of oxtails per pound these days being so high, the portions were large and fairly priced. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to all my fellow foodies.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have never had such an AMAZING experience with Jamaican cuisine as I did today with Jamaica Nyammingz! Defintely worth every penny! This was my first time eating here and at first I was skeptical, I haven't found a place I like just yet. I drive by here every day and decide today is the day. THANK GOD and holy moly! The combination plates do not miss! They are stuffed with yummy goodness! All the meat was so tender and juicy, the plantains were made JUST RIGHT (hard to come by as everyone is different), the rice and peas were moist, as well as the steamed cabbage, not too crunchy. Whatever the sauce is made of, it's absolute perfection with the Jerk Pork. These oxtails?! This place is the go to for that! I did take out and had it delivered. Boy was the bag heavy lol I couldn't wait to dig in! Now, I did order Curry Goat, which I was so curious about, but got handed more Oxtail instead- that's okay. The owner (or manager) Alton, made it right! He apologized and told me he will make it up to me next time I visit and make sure I get Curry Goat. That was very generous of him. I will be visiting again! Next time I'll have to go in to check this atmosphere everyone talks about! Thank you guys, you just gave me a new place for my Jamaican Fix!

Really Disappointed I got the lunch special jerk chicken with rice and peas the portion was fine but most of my jerk chicken was undercooked you can literally see some blood. I didn’t even eat it since I don’t wanna get sick feel like I wasted my $16

This place was incredible! From the warm, family like atmosphere to the delicious food and spotless dining area, it checked every box for me. The dishes were absolutely amazing (jerk chicken and oxtail), and if you’re in the Killeen area craving authentic Jamaican cuisine look no further. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! I'll definitely be back soon!

The service was first class. The really brought in the island hospitality. This Jamaican restaurant is above services in central Texas because they focus on comfort and quality care and not just about getting the customer in and out and from that alone I stand with them. They food meets standards. However we must understand this is a different type of style of Jamaican cuisine people may be used to especially when it comes to the jerk chicken but it meats standards and gives good portion sizes for a quality meal built on love. The jerk sauce is different but still ok. The rum cake is a true rum cake. The the drinks have the ginger in it to ease the digestion on the stomach to give that touch of tradition and love of Jamaica. The gospel music was the best. I can taste the Glory they give God in the food. I will be back.

I can honestly say this place has gotten better over the years. The food is actually good and as a Jamaican I can recommend this place for jamaican cuisine. I felt Round Rock and went to Jamaica Nyammingz for lunch. The service is also remarkable I had my kiddos with me today and had 2 staff members assist me to my car with my order of 2 goat soup and 2 entrees. Never in America have I experienced such an amazing effort of customer service in the food service industry.

I've been here several times before BUT it's been awhile. The food here is enough to feed two with a small plate and it is always served hot. Today I had the goat curry with beans and rice and cabbage. Sooo good yummy The customer service was amazing today. I apologize I did not get the young lady's name that helped me and my pregnant daughter today. BUT, she was attentive and welcoming. The restaurant is kept clean and the atmosphere is welcoming. There is plenty of parking on the parking lot too. The food and services is worth the price.

I wanted to love this place! I was excited when we drove up and saw a parking lot full of cars and alot of people on the inside patiently waiting on their food. The restaurant is decorated nicely. I did get the Irie vibes with reggae videos playing on the TV. My family is from Trinidad so I was excited to see Roti and Goat on the menu but they didn't have it so I settled for oxtails, peas & rice, cabbage with plaintain and my son had the same but with curry chicken. The food took a minute to come, but not too long. We figured it was due to the amount of people waiting and it was a Saturday. I don't mind waiting for good, fresh food. Food comes out and the first thing I noticed was that while my food looked delish...there was no smell of oxtail or any food, but it looked so damn good. No flavor. No seasoning. Oxtail had no taste. Peas & Rice were hard and no flavor Cabbage was steamed and thats it. It was only cabbage...no carrot, no seasoning, not even salt The pepper sauce and salt did not help any of it. So disappointed. I had called my Mom all excited to only let her know I can't bring her here.

Ordered takeout : jerk chicken and Mac-n-cheese. I really enjoyed my food and had plenty for later! Definitely recommend them

I ordered this through GrubHub from Jamaica NyammingzIt did not disappoint at all. The meat is well seasoned. The white rice is over saturated with the gravy from the juice in the best way. I try to order a few time before making a review. I must admit I have had this 4 days in a row previously. Todays order was my final one before I decided to review. When eating oxtails I generally like hot sauce on them. I also have a preference for well seasoned over the sweet taste. These right here require no hot sauce or anything else. You don't have to be there to get a good plate as my first plate was a grub hub order too. I'm not in the business of telling people to go here Vs there. I have no ties to the food community. I will just tell you to try for yourself. This is my 8th time. Consistency is key. I haven't had a bad plate yet. Not pictured is a beef patty... let's just say it's demolished

This Jamaican Restaurant tastes like my mom's home cooking. My husband loves the jerk Chicken and the jerk pork, They have a drink. It's a pineapple and ginger, it's to die for. On Saturday, they serve Jamaican cornmeal porridge. Oh my goodness, it's so good.

Best oxtails and jerk chicken in this area. Nice atmosphere! My husband loves this place. It's a little pricey but it's worth it.

The ox tails were so good! Actually, everything on the plate was amazing. Rice and peas, cabbage, and the plantains were all good as well. Don't sleep on the rum cake either! Really, you probably will sleep after the size of the plate and the rum cake. One of the best places I've found in Killeen period.

Driving up you its unmistakable this is a Jamaican restaurant. The staff was friendly so I was really excited when ordering. Took my curried goat and oxtail soup Togo. I tried both hoping for some flavor but have to say it was missing the zing.

Yes, finally my wife and I get to go to a place where we can go and not worry about sour ass customer service and overpriced left-over chunks of food. Ava's was once our chosen place to go but no more. Very happy there are still people that enjoy just being alive and make others happy with their service.

Wow, I have tried several Oxtails in Killeen and this is by far the best! Tender and the flavor is just amazingly delicious. The rice and peas was also very good. The jerk chicken was a little dry but love the smoky taste to it. The fried plantains were sweet, just compliments the meal. I will be ordering again most definitely!

It was my first time visiting this place, but I'll definitely be back. Here's the aftermath.. I forgot to take pictures of the food. I ordered the curry chicken; and my husband ordered the jerk chicken plate. Our sides were rice and peas with cabbage. The food was so good I thought about licking the plate, but that would be unladylike. Lol

Everything is delicious but the chicken soup is Devine. I'm craving it right now. The portion are really good too. Definitely the best Caribbean spot in Killeen.

Food is delicious! The amount and quality are definitely superb! The goat was falling off the bones! The Coco bread was soft even after traveling home! So happy we found this place and will make this our Jamaican go to spot from here on out! Definitely worth the time and money spent!

Authentic Authentic Authentic!!! Being half Jamaican and from south Florida I've been eating Caribbean food all my life and this place is the best I've had in Central Texas/Killeen area. My goto dishes are oxtails, curry chicken, and jerk chicken! Ive eaten each of these dishes from here and they did not disappoint... for Each Main dish 9/10; sides- peas and rice10/10, cabbage8/10, plantain 8/10. (The reason for 8/10 for the sides I wish they gave a slightly bigger portion). Will return once a month

They gave my 10 lb. order of oxtail to someone else. They need a checks and balances protocol for catering orders. Their food is good, however, I was highly disappointed to learn my catering order was given to someone else.

Delicious all around everything is juicy and has this Smokey flavor. The service was good. It was super busy which is a good thing. It's more on the expensive side but you pay for quality food. And they give a really good portion size. I would definitely recommend this place if you want really good Jamaican food.

Love this place. The portions are nice and the food tastes so good!! I love their pineapple ginger juice. I've been trying to replicate it but can't make it how they make it.
