The vegetable patty was my favorite! I like that it’s made with whole and not minced up vegetables. Flavorful and well baked. Unfortunately part of my order was wrong & I didn’t get to try their chickpea patty. On the other hand, the BBQ chicken patty was better than I expected. My friend tried their Ackee patty and it was her first and last time trying it. The coco bread seemed uncooked, definitely couldn't eat it straight out the bag. I would come back for veggie patties and hopefully next time the chickpea patty will make it into my bag.

Super busy area! The line always a little lengthy. We tried the Calaloo, chickpea and veggies patties. The first time they were fresh and really good. The next time we visited they were subpar. Each Pattie is $3.50 right now. I will say they put a good amount of filling into the patties and a couple of them will get you full.

The heights of slackness !!! Sell me burn patty and I didn’t know until I reach home ! I ordered a patty n a coco bread and they hide it in the coco bread !! Yall are evil the patty burn until it’s bitter !

Too little filling and it's not fully chicken, it's mixed with something to spread the meat out.

I ordered AND PAID FOR 8 patties, 2 Coco bread, and a soda. My bag only had 7 patties. Check your bag before leaving the counter. This is the second time this happened.

Went this morning to pick up a spicy beef, mild beef, curry chicken patties. Each one was dried out. And had very little meat to speak of in them. My worst experience there. From now on. I have to see it B4 I pay 🙆🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ they looked and taste like they were from yesterday. 🤢🤮

I’m love this spot the jerk chicken is perfect the patties are ok better than GK but they add cheese so you get love in them idk I feel people in these comments want you to hate it but I love it and the women are always helpful and courteous

Great food always. The beef patties are good. While I did a small order, the service is great.

$8 lunch set with choice of protein, rice and a veg side. The food was fresh and a nice portion. Great for a quick stop. No seating, just a service window.

We ordered the jerk patty with coco bread and cheese because I've never had that type of patty before. The order came out quick and it was easy to order. There was no cheese on my patty and the coco bread was a bit dry. The party itself was decent and had good flavor.

Haven't had a Jamaican patty in years and since we were passing by .. I convinced L to stop and get a few. He ordered 2 beef patties and a curry beef but he should've gotten at least one spicy beef. I like a lil heat. It was nice and flaky. Curry chicken was good, sweet though. It doesn't taste as salty as the typical beef patties you'd buy at a pizzeria. This is much better obviously.. They have deals like 8 for $20, 12 for $30...for beef, chicken or veggie.. Edit* I've been back for the hot beef patty...we really like it. It's not too spicy. Good amount of beef. It always oozes out of the pastry. Ooh if only they had an extra hot beef patty.. I'd get it with the bread but I don't want to mask the lil heat the hot beef has.

I work near this location in Jamaica ave, I come in for lunch maybe once or twice a month and get a large jerk chicken with rice and peas. The large or is to save for dinner. However the consistency is not the same with all servers. The service is good, but you need to know that it's make your order and go. It's a standard Jamaica flavors spot, and will keep coming back

I recently came here for their chicken curry patties and it really hit the spot for me. It was delicious I'm totally coming here again for their chicken curry patties for the week I put it in the freezer or refrigerator and I reheat them in the toaster oven and it's still just has delicious. I keep them in the refrigerator at work so I can reheat them in their toaster oven for lunches it's perfect for lunch. Beef patties taste similar everywhere to me so the standout really is the chicken curry Patty.

I love this location. It never disappoints . I've been coming to this specific location for years... back when they were Cash Only Today I was on this side of town,again and decided to stop by for a pattie and soup - on a cold dewy, Friday. Surprisingly. Fast service

I purchased the $239 catering package for Christmas dinner. When you receive your order, they place the pans in a box for you to carry. Works perfectly. However, they did not give us the macaroni and cheese or the festival despite listing it off in the box. The Vegetarian Rasta Pasta was plain noodles and some thrown vegetables, not even some seasoning--my Jamaican father, a pescatarian, asked for tartar sauce for the escovitch whiting. Now you know that's a problem! The separate small pan of oxtail tasted like nothing but garlic. Never Ever Again! A waste of money

You come here for the patties! They have a big selection of them to choose from. Their jerk chicken patty is probably their best of the ones that I tried (jerk chicken, curry chicken, regular chicken, beef, hot beef) You do not come here for customer service haha. You get your food, and you're in and out. These workers are very efficient with their time and utilizing the smaller space of the restaurant. Doesn't make for a bad experience but if you're looking for a warm welcome and smiling faces, this ain't it fam. The prices are good. Quantity is decent depending on what you get. We ordered some oxtail plates and 3/4ths of the plate was beans and rice with 2 pieces of plantain and 4 pieces of oxtail. If you prefer more beans and rice, then this may be the spot for you. Patties were a great size and proportionate in meat/bread. I would likely only come back for jerk chicken items or plantains. Not a bad place to stop and give a try though.

Everyone lined up at Jamaican Flavors, I had to see what's good. I got the Callaloo patty and Ackee Patty, delish...my fav is the Ackee.

They offer a dozen for $30, but you have to tell them up front that you want the special price. If not, they charge you regular price if you order 12, which happened to me because I was not paying attention. Didn't leave a good taste in my mouth.

As always, amazing patties! Always hot & flavorful. I drove extremely far to get these & I would do it again!

a bunch of dummies working there. I called to place an order for pick up told the retardant I was 20 minutes away was ordering a big dinner and asked if theyre still have the boneless jerk and that I was coming and she said yes come. waste of time and gas.

I was having an event and I knew without a doubt; Jamaican Flavors cocktail patties would be part of the menu! I called to place the order the phone rang out - 8 times during the course of the day I still couldn't get a person to answer the phone, it was as if, the phone number to call was just a suggestion because no one answered! The day before the event I was finally able to get through as the order form on line was no help whatsoever. I breathe a sigh of relief, I am happy the order was in, I paid by CC, I was good! Next morning I go to pick up the order [a large order a could of hundreds] the young lady looked at me like I grew two heads right in front of her! Then the telephone calling began and the back and forth we didn't get the order, no I sent over the order - suffice to say, the order wasn't ready! I needed to come back in about two hours! I am on a tight schedule, I had all my duck lined up and you all just throw them out of whack! I don't have the time to go back and pick them up! I had to pay a taxi to go pick them up and have them delivered to me as a second trip to pick them up wasn't in the schedule! Next day I spoke to the person that took the order and he said, I sent the order over, that's all good, however, they didn't receive it as it was never made. Yeah! I will take 5% responsibility, YES I SHOULD HAVE CALLED AND MADE SURE THE ORDER WAS READY! I didn't. I requested he had a manager call me - three weeks later no one called, no one seemed to care about the inconvenience of the matter, the poor customer service, a business phone that is never answered... Dang! the food is great and everyone at the party enjoyed the variety, we had those bad boys hot and delicious. The jerk chicken patties, actually everything we ordered were delicious! Just wished their customer service was as good as their food!?

I went to Jamaican flavors today and the customer service was horrible !!!!!!! omg the workers are so full of attitude ! the patty was horrible as well .

Went to buy pattie at the location there is a young man working their is customer service is everything .The Pattie was hot and the coco bread was soft.

Best patty on the Ave. Lil store front on the Colosseum Block. They sell fresh or frozen. They have vegan options. I love the Salt Fish Callaloo They have like a special if you buy a box. And thru always have a long line. But it's quick and speedy and the girls who work inside and not too mean lol.

I gave my revie earlier i didnt realize i had to touch the star spot so again my experience with the catered meals from Jamacian flavor restaurant was exquisite. They catered our family Repass in Staten island foor & setup was on time& everything we we had was so very flavorful& let me tell ya the ox tails melt in your mouth, the sweet& sour shrimp was oh so tastey,the jerked chicken was wow wee. The cabage salad( not cole slaw) was delicious. The backed mack& cheese wes oh so cheesey& delicious. Let me tell ya about the ginger,pinaple filled cake with coconut frosting oh my moist& mouthwatering delicious. I give thanks to chef& all involved with the meals jamacian flavors restaurant for making our Repass so very fulfilling in our time of loss& sorrow. I give 10 stars if i can

All i can say is Thank You to this restaurant, for their Amazing meals they catered for our family Repass. We lost our Lovedone in Staten Island they delivered& set up on time& everything was so delicious. I never had ox tails before& these melted in your mouth. We had meals of rice& beans, ox tails, jerked chicken ( wow), sweet&sour shrimp, baked mac&cheese, cabbage salad all was delicious. When i thought i tasted something delicious the next item was oh so delicious. The ginger,pinaple filled coconut froted cake was moist mouthwatering delicious. This restaurant knocked it out the park for me for sure. Thank you Chef for every flavorfilled meal. You treated our mourning family like royalty with your meals. 10 stars for sure

So, not that much has changed since I was last there. Just dropping in for my restock to freeze and noticed they have a new menu item Incoming, the impossible beef patty aside from that, they have a sweet 8 for $20 I absolutely took advantage of. Not many more updates than what I said before. It's a whole in the wall with a window, so standard COVID protocol here. Just wear your mask, and stop on by for the best patties around!

Delicious. 1st time having a beef patty this place is awesome. Service is fast but busy days theres a huge line. But worth the goodness! Ive only tried the beef patty with cheese. Its a little spicy (to me) cheese just oozes out of the patty. Pure goodness, you must give it a try. Order it with coco bread and grab a water

This place may be a small spot but they say big things come in small packages. The have the best jerk chicken sandwiches hands down in queens that I ever tasted. The taste is like it comes from the west indies straight from Jamaica on the island.you can't forget about there jamaican pineapple soda that drink is one of my favorite jamaican sodas all time And there spicy cheese beef patties with the soft coco bread, they are the top of the chain. I know I have been to dozens of beef patties spots. And none of them compare I dont want to name names but they know who they are.plus if you like jerk chicken breast sandwiches they make some really good jerk chicken sandwiches. It is seasoned just right and it is a decent size. It won't disappoint. so when in Jamaica queens on jamaica ave chilling out shopping on 164 st stop by this place especially if you love jamaican food or west Indian food.

I had a buddy who was visiting NYC on business. Since he could not leave the vicinity of JFK airport, I made the trek to meet up. I did not know what good food options were available to us in this area, but he suggested that we go to Jamaican Flavors. We took an Uber, although we ended up going to a different location than the one we intended. The place we had in mind was a sit-down type of place, but the place we ended up in (this place) just had a service window and less options. The option that best suited my tastes was the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. My buddy ordered his food as well, and we paid cash (no credit card accepted at this location). The sandwich was great, and came with generous amounts of chicken. The sauce added a good kick of flavor, and I was left satisfied with this meal. I did not like the area too much, nor the fact that it was a cash-only establishment. But the food I ordered was good. I'll try their sit-down location next time.

Can we all attest to the fact that Jamaican Flavors has 5 star patties. Raise your emoji hands if you agree, c'mon now! Years ago and I mean about 10 plus years, a friend told me about this place, asking me if I have ever heard about it. Sadly, at the time I wasn't much of a foodie so I knew nothing about it. She was in awe to find out I hadn't and told me that I needed to try it asap. I ignored her suggestion and just stuck to my usual fast food options and kept it moving. Call me crazy, stubborn or just plain oblivious, but who knew years down the line I would be writing this review to let people know don't be like me and have your taste buds miss out on these amazing patties...just don't okay. Thank you Sheldeen Jamaican Flavors has many locations all throughout Queens and one in Baldwin, N.Y. Yeah, they are spreading the flavors across town for all to try. However, please note that this review is particularly for the Jamaican Flavors at 164-17 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, N.Y. 11432. So, after being in space about this place for over ten years I came back to reality and landed myself on one of their super delicious patties. They have a very small store front, one of the smallest I have seen other than a food cart actually. There is no walk-in, seating, or tables available, you just basically walk up to one of two windows and place your order (loudly if you can cause Jamaica Avenue can get pretty busy). Alongside the storefront is a list of all the patties and specials if any are still available at the time you go. I say that because anyone who is very familiar with Jamaican Flavors knows that after a certain time of day (mainly close to closing time) the patties are sold out. They sell quickly and you have to act fast to get your favorites. The various selection of patties are as follows: Beef Hot Beef Chicken Curry Chicken Jerk Chicken Barbecue Chicken Vegetable Calaloo & Saltfish Pumpkin (NEW) Impossible Patty (NEW) Coco Bread You can also add cheese to your Patty for an extra charge. Available cheeses are American ($.25), Mozzarella ($1.00) and Jamaican Cheese ($2.00). Another bonus are their patties by the dozen (fresh or frozen) which come in Beef and Chicken only (mix & match if you like) for $27.50. Oh and lastly, they do sell their famous Original Boneless Jerk Chicken sandwich served on freshly baked coco bread in addition to the patties. You can add cheese to it as well. As you are probably wondering, so, which one is the best? Honestly, I can't say for sure but most people love the Beef and Jerk chicken patties. I personally had the Curry, Hot Beef, Jerk chicken, Chicken and Barbecue chicken patties. Of all of those I tried, my top favorite was the Jerk Chicken and my second favorite is the Curry chicken flavors. My least favorite was the Barbecue chicken. The Jerk chicken patty has a nice spice kick to it and mimics their jerk boneless chicken to a T. I got mines plain with no cheese because I just prefer it without. The Curry chicken has a mild spice and goes well with American cheese. The Chicken patty is a light spice but seasoned very well with slight chunks of chicken more prominent than the curry. The hot Beef is very spicy to me, but not hot and it can go well with or without cheese. The crust is more golden on the beef patties than the chicken but all are baked to absolute perfection giving a great flaky crunchy crust. The barbecue chicken patty comes with shredded chicken and what tasted like sweet barbecue sauce which I did not really like. The sweetness from the barbecue sauce did not compliment the texture of the chicken at all. The crust however did somewhat save it. One out five ain't bad as far as what I disliked being that there are still four I have not yet tried. I recommend trying Jamaican Flavors other locations across Queens, especially if you want to get a more broad selection of their other Caribbean dishes. I will be posting another review of the food at their location on Farmers Boulevard, so look out for that soon. Until then, if you want New York's #1 voted patties you know where to go!

A perfect, flaky, delicious spicy beef patty, a fantastic jerk chicken sandwich, and a slice of rum cake total less than $10 at Jamaican Flavors...and who says bliss can't be had on the cheap? I grew up on "pizzeria patties" so I wasn't born a Jamaican patty purist, but they've always been a favorite food. I've run the full gamut from corner pizzerias to the many bakeries throughout the city, and the spicy beef patty from Jamaican Flavors is by far my favorite. 165th Street on a perfect summer day with music blasting from the stores, the droves of people out and about, and the three card monty games all around are a slice of true New York that hasn't disappeared (yet) and while Jamaican Flavors keeps selling heaven in the form of perfect, golden, flaky goodness, I will keep coming back over and over again.

i got the jerk chicken sandwich with jamaican cheese on coco bread and it was amazing. definitely recommend. the patties weren't as good though so i recommend getting the jerk chicken instead

Jamaican Flavors is a walk-up beef patty store front. There's two walk-up windows and two lines formed to place orders for food. Mind you there's no rice & peas here just delicious patties. There's a sign that says, "Patties are made fresh daily", but I'm not sure how true that is with such a small store front. They have a small assortment of patties to chose from. They have beef, hot beef, chicken, jerk chicken, curry chicken, bbq chicken, vegetable, calaloo & saltfish, jerk chicken sandwich, coco bread, and cheese. If you're interested in purchasing a large quantity they offer 12 dozen beef or chicken patties for $24.99. There's no way you can walk pass the stand and not be tempted to order a patty. The smell is so inviting. I've tried the beef, hot beef, and curry chicken patties. The beef and hot beef tastes amazing with cheese and coco bread. They also have refreshments such as Jamaican sodas, Snapple, and water.

My husband was craving some beef patties so I suggested this place since I've been wanting to try them for quite some time now but just never had the chance to. We were starving so I ordered 8 assorted patties for just the 2 of us and yes, we finished it all. [Beef/spicy beef/chicken/curry chicken] The patties were good and flavorful but was too flaky, too much crust and had too little filling in them. Also, the spicy patties aren't that spicy, it's more like mild. So in this case, you get what you pay for $2.50, which isn't bad. All the patties are already made and they have like about 8-9 kinds. I would go with the spicy beef or curry chicken. It's literally a hole in the wall with 2 walk-up windows to order from but the service is quick and don't forget to bring money, it's cash only!

This place is good for what it is, a "hole-in-the-wall" establishment. You line up outside and place your order at the window, this isn't a sit down and relax while you munch on your patties type of spot. Just place your order and go. If you've been coming here for years, it's not the same quality as it once was, but they are still good. The Patties here are usually moist with a tender flaky crust. I prefer one of two patties, the spicy beef with cheese and coco bread or the curry chicken with coco bread. For me, coco bread is a must. As for customer service, you give them money and they'll give you food. If you're expecting friendly banter, don't as it's not likely to happen... If you're in the area and want a quick bite to eat. Definitely, give them a try.

I was in the neighborhood and decided to get the best Jamaican beef patties there is and as I rounded the corner to get on 164th st. I saw that they were tearing it down! No worries they just changed location to 162-02 Jamaica Ave. Still the best beef patties there is!

For every man there is always the story of "the one who got away" - the former love that you might still have a tender spot for. For me there was Emie, my girl for those few months in my college years. Emie was sweet, cute, demure, intelligent, and if you piss her off, she will curse you out in the filthiest patois possible. Her dad was from HK (just like me), he followed his father (a hardware store owner) to Jamaica back in the 50s as part of the disapora. He was a clerk at his father's store in Kingston, married a local gal (a lovely mulatto lady) and during the 70s emigrated to New York where he got a gig as an electrician with New York City subway. Emie grew up in East Flatbush and was tough enough to endure teasing from the local kids (China doll) and from the asian kids (they thought she was Malaysian due to the darker complexion she got from her mom). It was fate that put Emie and me together. We were both trying to order the same last Jamaican patty at a long-gone bakery on Flatbush Avenue (I led her have that and got some cake instead), and then we ran into each other again an hour later at the same gen-ed class at the University. One thing led to another, we went from study partners to something much more serious. I enjoy visiting her family, chatting up her dad about the train systems, helping her mom out in the kitchen, studying/fooling around with her in her room, having her mom's beef and red bean soup with dumplings & yams or her dad's five spice short ribs afterwards. Oh, and sharing ting (Jamaican grapefruit soda) and beef patties while walking down Church Avenue or the 164th street mall in downtown Jamaica and arguing whether the term tu-sheng-pang was Chinese in origin or not (土生捧?) I don't remember why Emie and I broke up, but I was sad about it for months afterwards. It might be something in the Jamaican Flavors patties that drove us apart all those years ago. Fast forward to today - me and the missus had a walk in Jamaica, and we chanced upon the patty stand. The neighborhood is more subdued from when I frequented it all those years ago, and 164th looks more worse for wear than all those yesteryears. The coliseum mall is closed on Sundays and the street looks...less patronized than back in the days. But still, the patties endure. $2.50 for a standard beef patty - decent enough. Flaky crust with a hint of tumeric, warm filling that's a bit spicy but not too dry. The jerk chicken patty at $3 packs some heat, a little too moist for my liking, but still very good. Service is typically Jamaican - not out-of-your-way pleasant but gruff acknowledgement of transaction. Me and the missus grabbed our patties and stood to the side, and there I was reflecting upon the situation at hand. "Hun, is everything okay?" I looked back at my bottle of Ting, thinking back to the day when Emie and I broke up at the 164 street mall, looked once more at my patty and decided that it was simply not meant to be. The past is not always a good place to revisit. Still a decent patty after all those years, though, glad my wife is here to enjoy it with me.

The jerk beef patty and chicken soup were absolutely delicious on this rainy day and after a brutal night shift. The lady at the counter was very sweet. Cash only.

I'm from California, so I've never had or heard of a Jamaican beef patty. Boy, was I missing out big time! This place is bomb asf. Although the lines were super long, it moves pretty quickly. Plus, once you get to the front, the service is excellent: the cashiers are both patient and no-frills efficient. The best part of the patty is the crust--a flaky, buttery golden brown exterior. Most importantly, the scrumptious filling on the inside, spicy beef or curry chicken, makes it one of the most underrated culinary gems. Just make sure you bite a small chunk of the pastry first and let it cool the inside; otherwise, you'll easily scald the roof of your mouth!

This location is new to the area I was skeptical into thinking how good the beef patties where gonna be because of the original beef patty location I've regularly go to is a few blocks away but needless to say the exceeded my expectations I had the chicken curry a vegetable patty and beef with cheese and coco bread

This place has been around for at least 20+ years and I've been going there ever since. If you're in Jamaica queens and craving a Jamaican patty, this is the place to go! I'm a fan of the chicken patties, they have the jerk chicken patty as well which is very spicy, but if you like spicy it's for you. If I'm feeling like a little extra, go with the coco bread and cheese which enhances the flavors of the patty. The cream soda helps as well. Big fan of this palace, there is no dining etc it's a window you order from but it's damn good :)

True Jamaican Flavor that always hits the spot! I've been coming here for years for flavorful patties and this is my ONLY go to spot. The staff is respectful and speedy. Love the aunties and nanas working here in this small hut of a store front. I always order the Curry Chicken patty. Made with real scotch bonnet peppers, curry and diced white meat chicken. Encrusted in a flaky baked patty. This is like...an empanada on steroids!!!!! I am lucky to work a block away from this location and frequent often when the craving hits. They also serve delicious Jamaican dessert delicacies like pineapple yellow cake and my all time favorite classic "Black Cake" Also Known As "Rum cake". Bitterly tart, MOIST and sweet to the core. This is a stop and go spot as I like to call it. Stop there and order your food, here them call your order out or wait for them to pass you your food and go. It's a busy area due to so many shopping places around it. However the food is tasty, fulfilling and for me....I usually think about buying more because it taste so damn good! I went to hillcrest high school which is a few blocks away from here so this was a convenient go to spot for something before dinner or a "mid lunch" when I was stuck in "after school activities. I've had Jerk Patties (MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE), Curry Patties, and the Original Jerk Sandwich. All of them are good but if you're looking for a spicy kick within the patties I would suggest the jerk chicken patty is best for that. The spice hits you probably after 3 bites lol.

Don't eat here. Manager is rude and would not allow me to use a credit card for a $4 purchase even though they were out of all diet sodas. They have a $5 minimum. Guess losing current and future business is worth $1 to them.

If you going to the coliseum, this a must go. If you're riding through the area, this a must go. Haven't had anything from here where I was disappointed.

The beef patties are amazing! I was visiting from Texas and made a trip to Queens for them!

Been awhile since I came here. But I was craving for some hot beef pattys, and nothing will suffice unless it came from this hole in the wall. Hot beef is still my #1 choice. The patty is packed full of beef filling. The crust is flaky and made to perfection. The beef was oozing out and falling off onto my napkin. Filling is so good that I just couldn't resist licking it off my napkin, even though I wasn't even done with my patty yet.. Service is quick and fast, wait in line and have your cash ready. Grab a go spot for those who want a quick meal/snack.

Come for the food and the experience.....ignore the location. For those of us who grew up in Queens hanging on "The Ave" was a right of passage. Perhaps even a fond part of your youth. Now as an adult it's an...I'll go if I must or if there are no alternatives. That said, you can't go to without stopping by this spot. Don't let the unassuming hut style shop fool you. Jamaican Flavors has the best beef patties and coco bread. Assortments range from beef (mild or hot), chicken, jerk chicken, curry chicken, shrimp, veggie and the option of adding cheese or a coco bread with the meal. To complete that experience you might want to add a Jamaican soda. Again, childhood memories packed into a delicious bite. Lines can be long but instead of judging them for that take it as confirmation that the product is good and worth it. Customer service is fine. This location comes with a hoot, holler and the screams and yells of tattoo artists and braiders etc but again....it's apart of the experience. Enjoy it!

This tiny store front is tucked away in a street where you cannot even find parking. The beef jamaican pattie is probably the best one i ever had. They are not greasy unlike the one at golden crust and they do not have that orange color. Instead you get the closest version of a home made pattie, stuffed with actual beef and yes these patties are somewhat spicy but well worth the wait. We also tried the jerk chicken sandwhich on a soft hoggie roll with lots of jerk chicken,lettuce and tomato. If i could, i would eat lunch here all the time.
