Let me start by saying I'm not the best person to judge the authenticity of Jamaican food, simply because I mostly eat it as a treat vs it being a common staple in my household culturally. For someone who is actually Jamaican this could be top notch; however, for myself, I'm underwhelmed.
I've eaten here three times, mostly because I was in the hair salon next door and trying to pick the lessor of all of the carb ridden evils on the block. The consistency just isn't there....I will say this, once I had some oxtails from here that were punch your 90 year old grandma in the face good! However, there was also a time when they weren't. I've also tried the eschovitch and while it wasn't horrible it just lacked the flavor that I've come to know and love with that dish.
Would I try this place again? I'm sure I will when I'm at the salon again in the future because I really want it to be successful. The neighborhood needs it. The customer service is good. The employees are willing to answer questions or even bring the food next door with out you asking.
