This new space for James Oliver is a great location. The Guardian lobby is the most beautiful and historic in Detroit. There is plenty of space to sit and enjoy a coffer with friends while you're in one of the most beautiful and historic places in downtown Detroit.

The coffee tastes bitter and burnt, despite being in a vanilla latte. The bagel that I got today was rosemary salt with plain cream cheese, quite possibly the worst I’ve ever had. The top half was completely coated in salt to the point where it burned my lips from how salty it was. The feeling was not pleasant and the taste was incredibly salty. The bottom half was free of salt but the bagel was rock hard. Not from being toasted but from being old or previously frozen (I’m not sure). It was loaded with enough cream cheese for 2 bagels and I cannot recommend the Rosemary Salt Bagel to anyone, unless you want mouthfuls of salt.

I got the garden veggie bagel. The ingredients listed said veggie cream cheese with onion, cucumber, spinach, and tomato. I said no red onion and they still put it on there and the cream cheese was not veggie and the bagel was not toasted. I was very sad that it wasn’t what I ordered. However my decaf latte is amazing.

I love the location and the selection of coffee and bagels...when it's open. Recently, it's hours have been inconsistent - closed unexpectedly for days. I'm hoping they'll get back to regular hours because I miss my rosemary sea salt bagel.

Very good matcha latte, and dirty chai; I appreciate that both came unsweetened. Chai was made fresh, not from a syrup. The pistachio cardamom cake was sweet and flavorful, and a great counterbalance to the bevs. Lovely staff, and you can't beat the atmosphere of the guardian building.

Second time they have forgotten my order as I'm late for work with no breakfast. Last time was first week with a new employer, so I had to leave without being reimbursed. I emailed them that time to keep it between us & they never replied. Can't believe I went back for a second time, at least they refunded my purchase this time. Super disappointed in this place & they don't seem to care.
