Detroit’s Best Coffee Shops, Spring 2025 | Eater Detroit

"This beloved Corktown coffee destination features a variety of blended and single-sourced beans from the likes of Nicaragua, Peru, and Ethiopia, as well as a supply of freshly-made bagels, breakfast sandwiches, teas, and a small makers-market in the corner where guests can pick up a locally-made scented candle or other handmade gifts. A mix of counter seating, long tables, and sofas make this the place to meet up or work solo from your laptop." - Serena Maria Daniels

Situated in the incredible hall of the guardian building. Decent coffee, great lox bagel. No power outlets for computer or phone.

An amazing location for a coffee shop. The coffee and bagel breakfast was fantastic too. Thank you Canà for being a wonderful barista

This new space for James Oliver is a great location. The Guardian lobby is the most beautiful and historic in Detroit. There is plenty of space to sit and enjoy a coffer with friends while you're in one of the most beautiful and historic places in downtown Detroit.

The coffee tastes bitter and burnt, despite being in a vanilla latte. The bagel that I got today was rosemary salt with plain cream cheese, quite possibly the worst I’ve ever had. The top half was completely coated in salt to the point where it burned my lips from how salty it was. The feeling was not pleasant and the taste was incredibly salty. The bottom half was free of salt but the bagel was rock hard. Not from being toasted but from being old or previously frozen (I’m not sure). It was loaded with enough cream cheese for 2 bagels and I cannot recommend the Rosemary Salt Bagel to anyone, unless you want mouthfuls of salt.
